Sorry phooey

welcome somebeans I'm a teacher too Grin

TomboyWife · 13/03/2011 19:33

Boo boo boo for ERTD phooey. Sad

Welcome somebeans!

Lizzy I think 4 BFPs in one day is enough to say safely and with certainty that you're up the duff. Grin

Daiso · 13/03/2011 20:01

Oh phooey am so sorry to hear she got you.

I think i will be joining you soon as more brownish discharge when i wipe today and also a bit ratty/emotional. sure fire signs for me that she's hurtling towards.... Sad

Big welcome to somebeans

raspberrytipple · 13/03/2011 20:27

Congrats Lizzy this is going to turn into a good thread I can feel it in my waters! Well, actually all I can feel in my tummy area at the moment is bloody cramps as ERTD arrived this afternoon!

In other news - I am using a mooncup! Has anyone else used one? I'm a little dubious, I used it last month for the first time and got on ok except for a leak at bed time on the first night. I'm still a little freaked out by having a 'cup' in but it seems to be going ok at the moment Hmm

have fun away tomboy - It's always good to keep practicing in between fertile days in case we forget what we are supposed to be doing Blush Grin.

phooey I'm with you on the clothes buying. I have just spent {ahem - coughs} £400 on not all that much stuff. But in my defence I had a clear out of all the crap in my wardrobe and am now 2 binliners full of clothes and 9 pairs of old manky or never worn shoes lighter! I had to replace it all with something!

Oh well, I'm off to eat cheese, drink wine and read the instructions for resetting the CBFM that was very kindly donated to me by the lovely bellaby. I'm not sure I've seen her about anywhere recently but it was a very kind donation which I am now pinning all my hopes on!

ciao for now xx

phooey · 13/03/2011 20:32

Daiso I know that lots of PMS symptoms are apparently the same as pg symptoms, so don't lose hope just yet.

My cycles are so weirdly random - I'm relying on my iPhone app to track, it had said due Weds, average 34 day cycle, AF came today and now it says my average is 32 days. Shorter is better as at least I'll know sooner!

I'm necking Wine anyway this eve, making the most of it. I drank too much really before ttc, feel much healthier having cut it out. Oh well!

Wine Wine Wine [zonk]

phooey · 13/03/2011 20:37

£400 Shock !

Grin raspberry do tell, what did you buy? I was sort of good and sort of not - had New Look and Hobbs vouchers, bought cropped black trousers and a long-sleeved jersey top in bright coral from NL but no luck in Hobbs. I then... ahem when got home, bought this Pandora watch Blush

In my defence, I got 50% off Smile

CaveMum · 13/03/2011 21:28

Do tell about the shopping fest raspberry!! I have developed an Issa addiction - I've bought 6 dresses over the last few months Blush

In my defence I have bought them all from eBay at a fraction of their retail price!

So I'm lying on the sofa with a glass of wine watching John Tucker Must Die - one of my guilty pleasures! What is everyone up to?

raspberrytipple · 13/03/2011 22:16

Well, nowt expensive, mostly next stuff, couple of pairs of shoes which always pushes the bill up. Made me feel much better though :)

Imps7 · 13/03/2011 22:26

Ooooh now that sounds like a shopping trip! I can't remember the last time I bought any clothes/shoes - we're doing our house up so every spare penny is funding Mr Dulux and Mr Homebase's pension fund at the moment!

Had a very nice weekend - Mr Imps and I had our Life Planning lunch - it was brilliant! Turns out we have been heading in the same direction all along, but I am just a little bit further along the road than he is, and things have got a little bit lost in translation between us. All sorted now, and we have our life plan written out - honestly, it's a work of genius with lists, diagrams, sub-headings, footnotes the works!

Can't believe weekend is over so soon - always a bit depressing.

Lizzy - let us know when you are happy for us to update the list! Really really hope this pregnancy works out for you.

raspberrytipple · 13/03/2011 23:11

That watch phooey is rather nice Envy. I'd like a watch but I've had loads over the years and I either break them or lose them within weeks. I just can't be trusted with anything expensive :(

CaveMum · 14/03/2011 08:33

Glad the shopping trip made you feel better raspberry

Imps glad you and Mr Imps were able to talk things through. Like i said before, blokes often engage mouth before brain - it's not their fault, they're simple creatures Wink

DH and I have a chat planned, over the phone, tonight. I have my appointment on Thursday morning and I'm going to make a list of every little thing I can think of to mention to the specialist. Thank the lord for Fertility Friend - I have the exact dates of when I came off the Pill and the date of my last period!
I'm also going to mention the skin problems I've had - my acne explosion from a few months ago and more recently I've developed really itchy patches of eczema under my arms. I figure it could all be hormonally connected Confused

JosieSmith1 · 14/03/2011 11:05

Morning everyone!

Welcome to the newbies (waves)

Late it is definitely alright to be jealous of pg people, I have had more than my fair share recently so if it?s not ok I?m going to hell Grin

Sorry you?re having a tough time Raspberry (hugs). We?re 8 months in too and although it is early days, it feels like it?s taken far too long already

Fantastic news Truff and Lizzy

Hope your scan goes well Alien

Daiso I remember on my first month of trying I was sitting at work after predicted ov time thinking to myself ?I?m probably pg right about now?. Blush If only I?d known it?s never that simple! I think we?d only done it once Grin

Sorry to hear about possible chemical pregnancy Tomboy

Sorry ERTD got you Phooey

Imps glad you got everything sorted with your DH

Well, quick update from me. Had a fab week off work, been out and about and spent a couple of days with my bestest bud who really cheered me up. Have been to docs too who has diagnosed me with depression so I?ve got some reading material and some exercises to do. I was gonna have some time off work but my senior rang yesterday and begged me to come in as she needs some time off ? she just found out her hubby has been having an affair Shock. So now I?m needed at work and I have to be strong for her and keep the office going in her absence so I feel stronger now. I?ll probs still have some ups and downs but I?ve just been chatting to one of the other admin about everything and I can do it without sobbing my heart out so that?s a big improvement Grin. Feeling a lot better, just hope it lasts, well, it will because I won?t stop fighting this time. Anyway, we?re adopting the ?every other day? and using ov sticks this cycle so fingers crossed this is the one.

weimy · 14/03/2011 11:27

Morning!

Yay for Wine phooey

Hurrah for shopping raspberry!

Fx for Drs appointment cavemum

Glad all is going well with DP imps :)

no news here possibly 3dpo.

LizzyMathsWhizzy · 14/03/2011 15:59

I'm not quite ready to update the list, having used a few 6 tests in two days I'm going to go down to one a day until I run out of tests (which will be in 10 days) finishing off with the fancy digital. Once that says pregnant I will update. I'm not even due for my ERTD according to the stats, so there is no need to get ahead of myself!

That watch is gorgeous Phooey. My OH has gone in to saving money overdrive, so I need to keep my head down on the shopping front for a while. I can wait until the next time he wants to buy something, then it will be ok! He's doing the Fastnet race (sailing from Cowes to Ireland and back) for the first time in August, so is bound to want to buy some new sailing gear soon. I can wait!

I'm really glad things are on the up Josie, it can be so easy to fall into a pit of depression and refuse to see the light. I had it when I started uni for a while, and it can seem like there is no way of improving. Just try to stay positive, and be grateful that you are needed at work, because as long as someone needs you can't afford to stop living.

weimy · 14/03/2011 18:31

OOps sorry forgot to say that I am glad you are feeling more positive josie. :)

Imps7 · 15/03/2011 07:05

Morning all!

Josie I am pleased that you are feeling on the up a bit and that you've made the first steps to controlling your feelings rather than allowing them to control you. Well done for going to the GP - I'm sure that wasn't an easy step.

Cavemum, can't believe your appointment is this week! Great that you have so much information - as long as you don't have more than one lever arch file (!) I'm sure they'll find it very useful info.

Lizzie, what's the pg test count so far?! I'm sure that if the time comes for me I'll be testing every day for the full 38 weeks! How are you feeling? Any symptoms that we can start to imagine that we have look out for?

I have had a very tight feeling in my uterus for the past couple of days - was quite uncomfortable playing netball last night. I think I'm more thirsty than usual too, despite having cut out those usual dehydrators alcohol and caffeine.

No sore boobs though. Is it strange to really really want sore boobs?!

Well I suppose I'd better get up. Not up for work today.

LateToTheTTCParty · 15/03/2011 08:08

ERDT is now four days late, no sign of it either. Have POAS twice since Sat when it was due and got BFN every time... I'm doing a Tomboy! Wish I knew wtf was going on Angry

JosieSmith1 · 15/03/2011 08:43

Thanks everyone. Going to the GP was really hard and I almost cancelled a couple of times cos I thought they would just laugh at me or tell me to pull myself together but she was really really nice, even when I cried Grin

I think if I hadn't had ERTD about 2 weeks ago I would be convinced I'm pg Shock I have been eating soooo much food, drinking loads of water and couldn't stop weeing yesterday. My first ever OPK says I'm not oving yet, which is unusual, so I'll keep trying, but there don't seem to be any signs and by now there's usually some Confused

Anyway, Late I hope something happens (in the form of a BFP obviously) soon so you know what's going on

Imps it's not at all strange to want sore boobs Grin. Fingers crossed for you. I got up half an hour later than usual this morning and so left myself 20mins to get ready for work. Safe to say I'm looking a little ratty this morning Grin

OP posts:
Imps7 · 15/03/2011 11:02

Oh Late I am sorry that you seem to the be latest victim of nature's cruel practical jokes Sad. I've got my fingers crossed for you as there is still hope.

Really glad you've got a nice GP Josie. A good friend of mine suffers from depression and I remember a few years ago when she saw a new GP for the first time who was an absolute monster to her - he was very old-school (and old!) and clearly was of the view that mental illnesses are generally made up by people wanting attention. It was very sad to see the effect that his behaviour had on my friend.

Well I've decided to start taking a bit more control of the TTC malarky. Although I say I know when I'm ovulating I actually have not the slightest clue, so I've just ordered a job lot of OP sticks off Amazon so I can be a bit more clued up next cycle.

Hope everyone's having a nice Tuesday so far!

JosieSmith1 · 15/03/2011 11:38

Imps I've just started using OP sticks and was very disappointed when I got 'O' this morning instead of Smile Grin I wonder if I'm oving later than I think I do Hmm

OP posts:
LateToTheTTCParty · 15/03/2011 13:27

Imps, I used First Response OP sticks the first cycle we started TTC, they were terribly expensive - pack of 30 from Boots, about as pricey as it gets I think! That month I tested and detected the LH surge no probs. Then I got all tangled up in thinking about what all that plastic was doing to the environment Blush so I went on Amazon and bought a bagful of the testing strips - less plastic & a whole lot cheaper. Now, the second month was when I had my weird, early, was-it-or-wasn't-it ERTD, and since I've been using the strips from the beginning of this never-ending 3rd cycle, I haven't detected any LH surge...

I don't know if it's a case of you-get-what-you-pay-for with the cheapo test strips, or if it's coincidence and I simply haven't had the LH surge since the Weird ERTD...Confused I'm thinking that when my next cycle finally starts I'm going to get some more First Response ones and run them at the same time as El Cheapos, it will be interesting to see if they both give the same result...

LizzyMathsWhizzy · 15/03/2011 16:41

Have you tried temperature charting Josie, Imps, and Late? I found it much easier than using the sticks because you can see the dates more clearly. I found it helped me get my cycle in perspective. I ovulated on day 9 of a 30 day cycle, which counted down on when to test. I tested the day it said and got a BFP, so something worked. The date it reckoned I ovulated was spot on according to the fancy digital test. However, doctor puts me almost a week back because I ovulated so early in the cycle. Hmm I'm pretty convinced that at the scan they'll agree with me not the doctor. If you haven't tried charting I would recommend at least looking at Fertility Friend

weimy · 15/03/2011 16:42

I only get two very faint lines (supposedly a negative), just before I ov. Temp drop has showed I have ov'd.

Truffkin · 15/03/2011 16:47

Hi ladies, I'm back in the real world after the best weekend ever. I didn't want it to end! Still not down from cloud nine, but will promise to keep my ramblings to myself Grin

Josie I'm so glad you went to your GP and got a good response. It sounds like some really good support you are getting and you are sounding much mroe positive and in control. Go you! I'm interested to see the results of your OP stick experiment Smile

Imps are you charting? I know I'm going to be a charting evangelist as that's how I got my BFP (or 4!) but it really helped me to understand the fertile window and how to time our pre-ovulation shagathons properly! It's also strange how the '3 times a week' rule doesn't always give you a shag in the fertile time and we were able to keep SFF as well outside of ovulation, so it didn't get too 'timetabled' if you know what I mean. Good luck with the shag dictators! Grin

Late very annoying that ERTD is keeping you waiting and in the dark. FX that you know what's going on soon.

Weimy look forward to the symptom spotting!

Truffkin · 15/03/2011 16:48

Sorry ladies, it took me so long to post that I Xp with Imps and it made me Grin that we are both extolling the virtues of charting after getting our results that way!!
