This is the place to be for all those wanting to TTC after miscarriage, or have plans on TTC in the relatively near future. This thread is full of support from people who have been there and no how you are feeling so jump on board and share the Wine and chocolate (or water and celery for those of you off alcohol and caffeine Wink)

The thread moves fast so bob in and out as you please. Ask any questions that have been niggling you or that you are concerned about, perhaps someone here has experienced the same in the past.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread

This is the old thread ref:

Stats to follow.

hils glad yesterday went well, don't worry about today it will get easier, don't be too harsh on yourself. Whether it's 5 weeks or 12 weeks it's still a pregnancy, and you're just as entitled to get something in memory of the baby. It's what makes you feel better.

(my dh always accuses me of using every pan, funnily enough only when he had to wash up though.)

Hils74 · 15/02/2011 20:33

Thanks cep that makes me feel like I'm not being silly, will talk to DP about buying something at the weekend.

Sorry not to say hi to everyone, but got completely lost trying to catch up on all the posts since Sunday!

Collie2 · 15/02/2011 20:52

Hi, just lurking but wanted to quckly post to Hills totally agree with cep your loss is just as real as anyone elses. Don't feel like your not entilted to feel a certain way as you are, and unfortunately we are generally at the mercy of our emotions anyway. You should do what you feel is right and i think a tree or shrub is a beautiful idea. I did consider one but I seem to kill off all plants (including a cactus) Blush so didn't want to plant something and it all go wrong! X

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 15/02/2011 21:11

melies & chloe55 I've just read your posts about your thoughts on the reasons for your M/Cs. I cannot get it out of my head that my pregnancy didnt develop further because of a very high temperature I had for two days with a cold in week 5. I remember at the time feeling really ill, googling and worrying myself silly about how high temperatures can be dangerous in pregnancy! Sure enough, 6 weeks later a scan showed a sac,but nothing resembling a baby inide (a few cluster of cells at the bottom). You can't help but think these things!

meliesmummy · 15/02/2011 21:21

hills we planted a shrub this morning (during a brief rain respite!), I think it's a lovely idea, I like that it'll be there in years to come as a reminder , in a positive way, something good growing out of something bad. I can't remember the name of the shrub we chose but we took advice from the garden centre, it should flower around the due date.

AandRMum · 15/02/2011 22:05

Chloe I'll poas on Friday if af doesn't arrive on Thursday - I only do expensive tests and don't want to waste them!! Cheapskate that I am!

There is no way to know why a mc occurred and given that 75% of fertilised eggs don't make it to implantation (pre-5 weeks) and overall 1 in 3 will have an mc (many picked up at 12 week scan and def 8+) then it is more a wonderful miracle when it does work than an error on our part when it does. For my 2 DDs I had a bad fall with one and a very high fever with the other and both made it through no problems. I think it is just shitty bad luck and the chance of post 4-5 week mc on the next pregnancy is just 10%. Too many stats but they are on our side in getting a healthy bean!

Blackkat · 15/02/2011 22:15

A&R thanks for your straightforward and sensible reminder - a really timely nudge to help us all remember it's just shitty bad luck. Thank you x
Everything crossed for you on Friday.

hadrian · 16/02/2011 03:03

Ladies a quick hello from beautiful Thailand! Having an amazing holiday including learning how to cook Thai food and looking after elephants!

No hope of catching up on everything I've missed so will work it all out when I get back.

Think AF has finally arrived so if someone updates Wednesday's list could you move me out of the WTTC group and put me on CD1?

Hope everyone is OK and looking forward to catching up with you all soon

xxx

Chloe55 · 16/02/2011 08:19

Awww Hadrian that sounds absolutely wonderful, I wish I could be transported there Envy

A&R, First Response are expensive you know Wink I should slap myself with a fish for pressuring!

Olismum It's ok, we are all sensitive on this thread at some points, you are not the first to get the wrong end of the stick, I have seen it happen here before. Just like a text, it is often difficult for us to get across the true meaning of a phrase through words.

Blackkat Grin at you nervously slinking back in. Isn't it funny how we picture people, I always picture you as a lady dressed up as, yes, you've guessed it, a black cat! Grin

Hils Dh and I considered getting a Bonzai tree then decided that we find it hard enough keeping a general houseplant alive, let alone anything else. We couldn't plant anything outside as our Husky would dig it up Sad I am always quite envious of those with plants as memories. That's why I made my own jewellery and wear a sterling silver bracelet with different semi-precious stones to help with grieving and fertility and have added a little angel charm. I never take it off. They are available on the internet but I thought their prices were ridiculous Shock

Zam I am donning some suspenders for you and will not be slapping you with a fish because I think I would have caved by now Grin

Mouse Hope you enjoyed your take away!

Cep Bless you, I was looking for something to reply about you but it seems you have been very not me me me recently and have just been a support for everyone else! Wink

Waves to everyone else!!

School run time.

Hadrian Thailand sounds lovely - what an amazing holiday so pleased AF has turned up - on this and this occasion only!

Grin at Chloe for calling me a lady - that's made my day Grin thanks Chloe Wink xx

maybebabyR · 16/02/2011 11:19

Morning everyone

Very jealous Hadrian the view out of my window doesn't quite compare!!

I am having a bit of a strange day today. I am hating all the uncertainty. I don't really know when AF is supposed to arrive, though I am fairly sure I ovulated 11 days ago (crampy pain on left side).

But the last 2 days, I have felt terrible, so tired I can barely stay awake, sicky and a headache. I know it's probably to do with the colds that everyone has at the moment, but there is always that little bit of you that hopes....

Someone slap me now please. But only a gentle one Smile

olismum23 · 16/02/2011 11:23

Good morning all,
Thailand wow Envy hadrian
How you getting on yourself chloe? blackkat you are a lady even after silly me getting it all wrong!

I have the Flu its awful but DH gave me a lie in this morning fed and dressed DS and did all the housework before going to work himself! I am very impressed with have to make it up to him when i feel better Grin

Chloe55 · 16/02/2011 11:34

The WTF cycle can really mess with your head maybe I really hope it is good news for you and AF will stay away for a good reason but please don't forget that your hormones will still be all over the place too. It's not unheard of though, my friend fell pg in her WTF cycle.

I seem to be doing ok actually thanks olismum I am now wondering if it is actually more the Clomid sending me into states of depression than my head if that makes sense? Gp has tsill not got back to me with a counsellor yet anyway Hmm

How do I make friends on FF?

OP posts:
maybebabyR · 16/02/2011 12:20

Thanks Chloe, I know it is probably just a bug, just hoping that it gets easier next month when I know where I stand with my body!

Sorry you are having a tough time of it yourself at the moment, it's horrible not being in control of your emotions Sad

MumTumWanted · 16/02/2011 13:15

Hi ladies,

Havent been on for a while as OH always lurking and would ask why im sneaking the laptop into the downstairs loo / understairs cupboard so have sneaked on quickly whilst at work ....

Feel like ive missed laod so have skim read to make sure i havent missed any tests etc and dont think i have but i will stand corrected if ive missed them...

hadrian sounds fab there wish i had come along in your suitcase ..

hils if you are green fingered then i think a shrub is a great idea

aandr loving the straightforward advice given and i totally agree

chloe maybebaby blackkat cep collie mouse hi to you all and sorry for no direct comments also Hi to anyone else i have missed

Now the me me me update...Still on my WTF cycle so have no idea but last night OH and i decided SFF no protection was on the agenda and so there we are... if i go by the dates i started the WTF brown bleeding im on day 9 according to FF so roll on Friday / sat when i will POAS to check Ov. Ive started taking temps but think im a very cold person, highest temp yet been 36.4 which was this morning...Confused is this ok ???

Oh also cant remember who suggested maybe it was time to change my nickname... could have been this or another thread, i guess what i was getting at with it didnt make sense I simply meant i really really want a mumtum and hope that it happens....so Can i still keep my nickname ??? if it offends i will happily change it....

Tokyotwist · 16/02/2011 13:41

Mumtum Can I ask what the significance is of WTF brown bleeding? I started bleeding this morning again. Very little fresh when I had a wee first thing followed by very little brown spread through the day.

Does this mean something in terms of the cycle? Should point out I'm only 2wks since ERPC but have only had one other instance of fresh bleeding.

ZamMummyInGabs · 16/02/2011 13:44

Just a quickie as am supposed to be packing for our monster road trip tomorrow (8hrs drive, overnight, then 3hrs off-road to desert camp!) Should be interesting with 2 boys under 5... Hmm

POAS today just in case - BFN of course so taking tampons & Nurofen into the Kalahari - what joy!

MumTum my pre-ov temps are usually 35.9-36.2 36.4 is quite normal. I don't get up to that level until after ov.

Back next week - have a great weekend everybody

Tokyotwist · 16/02/2011 13:46

Thanks to everyone for the GL wishes. First day back went quite well. A few awkward chats and one lady who teared up which made me a bit teary, but on the whole better than I expected.

My boss has been very nice and said I should just take things easy for the next week. I can go home if I feel it's getting too much. Not sure I'd do this but glad the options there.

Still not sleeping which is def taking it's toll on my energy and stress levels. Think I might have to chat to the dr after all.

Sorry this is very much a me me me one Smile.

MumTumWanted · 16/02/2011 13:51

tokyo only significance for me is that i had natural miscarriage and no interventions at all, so it may well not have been my AF simply the last bit of 'stuff' from the mc...... I mc on 29th Dec so im hoping it was my af but as there was no fresh blood in the 5 days i bled ( sorry tmi) i really think i am deluding myself.

Due to all the advice on waiting TTC till after at least 1 af following a MC my OH and I decided we would follow this but it now seems so long ago we threw caution to the wind last night...

I cant really comment knowledgably (is that a word?) on your bleeding as ive not had an erpc, some of the other ladies on here may have a better knowledge, all i can say is it is most defo called WTF for a very good reason guess we all just have to wait and see.

I did POAS (opk) yesterday but it was negative, wish id not started as now i will continue to do so until i get a positive one.... i sense this could be expensive if it goes on for longer than saturday when FF predicts i should OV....

MumTumWanted · 16/02/2011 13:53

xposts again... Thank you zam for the temp advice maybe im ok... not temp charted before so all new to me ! sorry your got BFN and the extra baggage now need Sad but as said before there is still a chance....

youremindmeofthebabe · 16/02/2011 13:55

tokyo I finished bleeding 3 weeks after ERPC-proper bleeding, and then for the next 5 weeks would periodically get brown gunk here and there, for a day or two at a time. I thought it was AF and stuff, but when I really got my AF i knew about it. HTH.

Tokyotwist · 16/02/2011 13:55

Thanks Mumtum. It's silly but I was hoping you'd come back and say it was the start of a cycle or something similar and not as I suspect just old blood or bruised cervix. I would happily be delusional Smile.

Sorry to hear you're still waiting. It sucks and I've only managed 2 weeks so far, so well done you.

MumTumWanted · 16/02/2011 13:59

sorry i couldnt give you the detail you wanted tokyo Sad

I hated the going back to work after too, It was right after the christmas break and the first question everyone asked was did you have a nice xmas,? was really very difficult pretendng we had when we hadnt. Noone at work knew so it was easier in some respects, but you sound like you have an undertsanding boss so if you need to leave early and catch up on some rest do just that , listen to your body i guess is what im trying to say ....

Tokyotwist · 16/02/2011 14:04

Thanks Youremindme, that does sound a bit promising then. Brown may suggest I'm coming to the end of the bleeding bit. Or NOT I suppose. Like mumtum said it isn't called WTF for nothing.
