This is the place to be for all those wanting to TTC after miscarriage, or have plans on TTC in the relatively near future. This thread is full of support from people who have been there and no how you are feeling so jump on board and share the Wine and chocolate (or water and celery for those of you off alcohol and caffeine Wink)

The thread moves fast so bob in and out as you please. Ask any questions that have been niggling you or that you are concerned about, perhaps someone here has experienced the same in the past.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread

This is the old thread ref:

Stats to follow.

A quickie question, is anyone using the cbfm?

I just wondered if it was worth the money? opk's useless so is the cbfm better? I assume you still pee on the stick so if opk's don't work will cbfm?

kat2504 · 12/02/2011 10:00

Could someone remove me from the list please? I've promised to stop obsessing about ttc and need to put my mind to other things. The shag dictator has been put away and I will not be updating daily on ttc threads either.
Since I also won't be using contraception, I'm hoping that this so called relaxing may in fact work!
I've been posting on here nearly six months now and the support has been incredible. I will still read and see how you are getting on and may post now and then. It's just that going up the list and back to the bottom again month after month is not making me feel great.
Best of ttc luck to you all

Mamapower · 12/02/2011 10:10

kat it worked for me... I stopped the temping and got rid of the sticks and stopped SWI but just had SFF and look what happened Grin good luck and please do let us know when you get that BFP Smile Smile

Chloe55 · 12/02/2011 10:27

Morning ladies.

Firstly, I am sorry Velvet about the thread starting. I had genuinely forgotten you wanted to do and I would have been quite happy for you to do it as I am a bit of I tech imbocile anyway!

Well, I guess considering I am on cycle 6 I shouldn't really be here too but I will be staying put if that's ok for you ladies as I feel settled here Smile

No worries kat good luck for future ttc.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 12/02/2011 11:38

cep i have used the cbfm for 7 cycles and tbh don't really think I can anything extra from it rather than just Internet cheapy opks! I've turned it off now for this cycle and am not planning on turning it on for the next.

Having said that, a lot of people do swear by them - if you do want one I would recommend looking on eBay rather than paying full price; I got mine from there brand new but for just under £50 instead of £100.

kat I completely understand where you're coming from - good luck, I hope the pressure-off approach does the trick xxx

olismum23 · 12/02/2011 12:57

Hi all how do i go on the wttc list? As far as dos and donts go whats the deal about peanuts?? When i had my DS 2yrs ago it was a case of only avoid them if you have allergies in you family now you have to avoid at all cost??? x

BackOnceAgain · 12/02/2011 13:01

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been on for a while. Life's a bit mental at the moment. Just putting myself at the bottom as AF got me yesterday

So happy for your BFP knitter and welcome all the newbies and sorry for your losses

Really need to catch up with you all soon, sorry for being crap Bye for now

Loving and too!!

Chloe I'm glad you're staying & you still feel comfortable with all us newbies Smile

Izzy & Mummya best of luck. Please pop in every now and then and pass on your wisdom Wink

olismum I think the official advice on peanuts is to continue to eat them as normal www.nhs.uk/Livewell/pregnancy/Pages/healthyeating.aspx

artifarti · 12/02/2011 13:26

Hello everyone. I've been lurking a bit on your old thread but started to feel like a creepy stalker so thought I'd say hello instead.

I had my first miscarriage a couple of weeks ago and an ERPC two weeks ago yesterday at would have been about 8 weeks. Gutted. I already have a cheeky DS aged 2.5 so arrogantly assumed that all would go fine with second pregnancy. It has been a big old shock. Physically I am okay and have stopped bleeding but emotionally a bit up and down, obviously.

We want to TTC again as soon as possible but I am waiting for my period to reappear as although all the advice is different, I think I need the reassurance that it will bring (plus I am going on a bonkers third world three-day work trip in March so don't want to be fretting about pg or not then!)

So can I, er, sort of hang out with you guys? I'm trying not to be too obsessive about it all and I'm not always very good about keeping up with threads but I'm nice, honest and you seem like lovely ladies... Smile

MumTumWanted · 12/02/2011 13:31

Feeling very down today so just lurking, really, still very small amount of blood loss - day 4 now- but most defo brown ( sorry TMI ) really wish it had been my AF but sure it isnt now... was so hoping to try for a NOv babe but that is getting less likely now ...

sorry to see you 'oldies' leaving its great having you all around for advise so please keep popping back in ...I raise Wine a glass to you all in thanks for your advice and to wish you well in your TTc efforts...Grin

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 12/02/2011 13:44

Hi Ladies, I've been spying on you all for a little while and have finally plucked up the courage to say hello and ask if I can join! Firstly, can I apologise in advance about the lack of paragraphs, after spilling several glasses of water on it my laptop has decided not to let me use the enter/return key any more! Angry A bit about me, I am currently in my very annoying WTF cycle following my second miscarriage in a year which started on the 13th of Jan. I was 11 weeks but found that there was nothing more than an empty sac :(. My first M/C was last March which was at only at 5 weeks, so was nothing in comparison to this both physically and emotionally. DH & I have been TTC for nearly 4 years, so needless to say these M/Cs have been heartbreaking! We desperatley want to start again, but my body is playing silly buggers at the moment! I've been hanging round with the lovely ladies on the charters thread for a while . My stats, if someone would be kind enough to add me to the list: IfAtFirstUDontSucceed: TTC no1, MC no2, Jan 2011, UCL 28/29 WTF

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 12/02/2011 13:45

I can't use my hash key either! grrr!

cep · 12/02/2011 13:45

welcome artifarti so sorry for your loss.
A couple of pages which may be helpful attached. feel free to come and go as you need/please.

www.pregnancyloss.info/trying_again.htm
www.pregnancyloss.info/waitingforaf.htm

They advise waiting for next af so they can date the pg. As long as you've stopped bleeding and you're feeling ready it's ok, is a good idea to do hpt to make sure hormones have gone back to normal just makes sure that any positive you get after dtd is new pg and not lingering hormones.

mumtum so sorry you're feeling a bit low today. It is so very frustrating waiting for af to come, is the one and only time glad to see it. Hopefully it'll be here soon for you.

cep · 12/02/2011 13:54

welcome ifatfirst so sorry for your loss. You poor thing you've had a tough time.

Don't worry about the paragraph thing, i'm terrible at grammar and capitals. fullstops and commers everywhere. I don't know if you've seen the links i put on my last post, if not you may find helpful.

Wish you and artifarti both all the best of luck on here. Feel free to question and rant.

Thanks for the welcome cep. Pregnancy test is still saying positive at the moment which is very annoying as I think it will be another step towards moving on. Hey-ho, I guess I just need to be patient.

Hello fellow newbie ifatfirst - here's wishing better luck to us both (and to everyone else on here too).

I am:

artifarti TTC#2, MC#1 Jan 2011

[thicky emoticon] What does WTF stand for?! And UCL is something Cycle Length?

wellieboots · 12/02/2011 14:11

Just marking my place on the new thread - let's hope 13 is lucky for some of us! :)

Welcome artifarti and ifatfirst - hope you find lots of support and encouragement here, I have been so well looked after. So sorry for your losses.

Sorry that so many old timers are off to the common room - please stop by now and again, we will miss you! Thanks so much for all your encouragement and help with my crazy questions and just with making me feel that I'm not the only person this has happened to and I wasn't on my own :o

wellieboots · 12/02/2011 14:13

Hi artifarti

UCL is usual cycle length and WTF stands for what the fuck - it's the cycle between MC and your first normal AF (period) where you have no clue what is happening!

cep · 12/02/2011 14:14

arti WTF means what the f**k, because the whole cycle just seems to be weird and noone knows what's going on until the 1st af arrives. and UCL is usual cycle length.

cep · 12/02/2011 14:17

oops xpost wellie how's it going down under?

Collie2 · 12/02/2011 14:29

AandR I agree that moderation is not a bad thing really, you could drive yourself crazy followinf all the advice to a tea. The guardian article was v interesting. I'm on my iPhone now so can't see the discussion thread but will look tomorrow. I hope your ok? Where are you in your cycle?

Izzy I am impressed with SMEG effort!! Fx it did the trick for you!

mummya I know shouting out to you defeats the object of you moving threads but just want to wish you luck swi over valentines! X

Cep glad you had nice valentines night I hope it wasn't to late for you.

chloe very glad your staying with us!!! Smile Smile How are you at the moment? Has AF gone?

Oils think eating peanuts is ok as long as you normally eat them. Ie if you don't really normally eat them, then you shouldn't... Something to do with tolerence. Same rule for cooked prawns. I did have a good link so will look once have laptop and post. X

Hi back once again sorry AF got you Sad

Arti yes most welcome to hang out and post/lurk as much or little as wish. Sorry for your loss, i hope your doing 'ok' the ups and downs come and go for a while, just be kind to yourself. Your trip sounds fantastic, tell all?

Mumtum , I'm so sorry your having a low day. I know waiting for your WTF cycle to end is hard and everyday your wondering what's going on with your body. But you AF will come soon, and I hope it brings you the relief it did me. I know what it's like to chase a date as this cycle is my last chance for a 2011 baby, which I am stupidly fixated on. But we shouldn't worry about dates.... Until my mc I was adamant I didn't want a nov or dec baby but now I'd love either!! Grin

IfAtFirst welcome. So sorry for your loss and that you find yourself here, but hopefully you'll have seen it's a lovely thread. X

wellieboots · 12/02/2011 14:55

Hi cep, thanks for asking!
Life is good, just a bit exhausting, so there's very little chance of this month being "the month" for me :)

But then I wasn't expecting it to be that easy anyway, as it took me 5/6 months to get the first BFP.

Should really be in bed now....

how are you anyway? xx

((waves)) to everyone else

cep · 12/02/2011 15:07

not to bad, a bit frustrated that dh can't score at a drop of a hat (or trousers) Grin just want to be back to the cycle i had pre pill and ds, a regular 28 day at least i knew when to concenrate dtd. but hey ho have to deal with what life brings.

Glad life is good, where abouts did you move to we have friends in adelaide, (dh's friends i've only ever spoken to them via phone and facebook) Oz is a place i have always wanted to go to but a bit scared of spiders etc. [wuss emoticon] Life will get easier you haven't been there very long.

collie unfortunately i have a feeling it was, but there's always next month.
