This is the place to be for all those wanting to TTC after miscarriage, or have plans on TTC in the relatively near future. This thread is full of support from people who have been there and no how you are feeling so jump on board and share the Wine and chocolate (or water and celery for those of you off alcohol and caffeine Wink)

The thread moves fast so bob in and out as you please. Ask any questions that have been niggling you or that you are concerned about, perhaps someone here has experienced the same in the past.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread

Cep Meant earnestly, thanks for keeping us going Wink

collie don't lose heart, cycles change bcs you were pregnant so try not to judge what's happening by what used to happen ((hugs)) SWI every other day is the most important thing Grin

Ninu step away from the sticks!!

Zam good luck!

mouse thinking of you today

Think AF has been on the scene since the weekend,(how can I be sure it is AF - some old some new blood?) Doing my best to ignore it, bcs I'm terrified of TTC again, I can't bear trying for 3 years again Sad

Found out abt another pregnancy last night Sad Envy but on a more positive note went for another run this morning Grin [smug emoticon]

Collie2 · 02/03/2011 09:16

Thanks blackkat I know I shouldn't worry and that cycles can change, I'm just desperate to get trying again, and I can't do that without a an egg!!! It's so frustrating. I am begining to see how big of a control freak I am and as there is nothing I can do it drives me crazy!!

On the upside, I too have been for a run this morning to run off steam! joins blackkat with [sumg emoticon]

blackkat I hope this is your AF -how long ago was your mc?- so you can get back to ttc although I can understand your anxiety, after 3 years of ttcing. I am so sorry your pg ended in mc. Hopefully this will be your lucky thread too though and you'll fall pg again v soon! Were you on clomid? Think I remember you giving chloe advice. Will you be taking that again?

Collie2 · 02/03/2011 09:17

Ps sorry about the Pg annoucement blackkat they are always hard.

Blackkat · 02/03/2011 09:32

Hi Collie

Erm m/c complicated, bleeding over six weeks ago, but emergency ERPC just over four weeks and stopped bleeding about 3 1/2 weeks ago, so could be abt the right time. Yep I was on Clomid, but am back in the referral system to see the Consultant. We'd used our 6 months up and I found out I was pregnant the day before we went for the appt to go on the IVF waiting list. Frustrated bcs I feel like I've wasted 5 months from October to now not doing anything but being sick, then bleeding and then crying. Sad So not sure what to do, beginning to think this might be the wrong thread for me and that I should find one about TTC for a long time. Confused

So I do know what you mean about being a control freak - but there, my dear, lies the route to total bonkersness (believe me, been there!) so try not to stress

Collie2 · 02/03/2011 09:46

I'm sorry blackkat what an emotional journey. You must have been thrilled to fall pg b4 having to have IVF but then to lose it is so cruel. I can understand the feeling of having wasted the past 5 months, especially after trying for so long.

I can see why you are thinking of looking for a long term ttc thread. Most of us on here are earlier in the ttc journey so its hard to be able to give you the practical advice and support you need, although i hope we help a little Smile why don't you pop in onto the common room thread? I am sure they'd love to see you and I am sure noone here will be offended..... But please pop back in, we miss the oldies a lot! Smile

Chloe55 · 02/03/2011 10:35

Blackkat It took me 3 years to fall pg with my MMC too so I know how hard it is when others around you seem to fall pg at the drop of a hat and having to hear the pg announcements then watch bumps then babies grow all whilst we are trying so desperately hard can be so soul destroying. I feel comfortable on this thread in the knowledge that everyone has experienced one of the hardest roads we may have to go down and, although I am Envy of the new birth announcements, I also know I will stay put until I can put my BFP on here too and just hope that it isn't too far away (I may have to reassess staying put if I am still here 6 months down the line Shock and I guess that is a stark reality Sad) but I whatever you decide to do you are not alone on this thread in that seemingly neverending wait Smile

Collie I am not sure whether I ovulated regularly or not before ds although I did have endometriosis which resulted in it taking over a year to conceive him. I found out I had PCOS about 6mths before my last pg and should have been starting Clomid then found out I was pg. I don't think I have ever been a regular ovulator though or I would def have come across a few 'accidents' in my time Wink

Any of you smug runners wanna walk my dog because I can't be arsed Grin

OP posts:
Blackkat · 02/03/2011 10:43

Chloe Thanks for that - so sorry it took you 3 years too. I'm just so nervous abt putting myself on a list only to watch my name go back to the bottom month after month etc etc, as you say, soul destroying. Sad

Grin abt the dog walking - bet I don't manage another run this week...month...year!! Grin

Collie2 · 02/03/2011 10:49

Chloe i hadn't realised it took you 3 years to concived before your MMC - so sorry.

What you said in your last 2 post about not ovulating and it possibly explainig 'accidents' that should have, but never did, happen really strikes a cord with me. I was always one of those people who could never remember to take the pill too, in fact i am pretty sure a month never went by where i didn;t forget a couple of days. DH has for years always been worried that we'd have problems because of this, but i always put it to the back of my mind. When i fell pg quite quickly (about 9 months of not being on the pill but just 2 actively trying) i just figured things are ok. I know that i have no reason to worry at this point.....ovulation could still come, but for some reason i am very unnerved by it.

i am shattered now after my run, my knees are knackered - such an old woman already!

Chloe55 · 02/03/2011 11:05

Collie I am not sure re your chart, I am pretty new to it though so am still learning, maybe Cep might be able to shed some light on it?

Which is arti's MC thread?

OP posts:
Chloe55 · 02/03/2011 12:30

Found her thread.

Quick question - have given up caffeine for 7 days now but today and yesterday have had a horrendous headache all day. If it was caffeine withdrawel would I have had it more like on day 2/3 do you think?

OP posts:
Collie2 · 02/03/2011 12:43

Well done Chloe on giving up caffeine are you drinking decaf or cut it out alltogether? I have had work colleagues who have had bad symptoms from caffeine withdrawal so they usually start on a weekend but its usually the first few days or so. this link says the headaches can last up to 9 days though.

Are you drinking enough fluids as it could be dehydration??

ORRRR it could be a pg symptom??? this link says headaches are common around the 9DPO period????? Grin

Chloe55 · 02/03/2011 12:47

I am on with decaf tea and coffee which I don't actually think taste too different so I am happy with that. Have always drunk lots of tea and coffee but for the taste as never really found caffeine affected me too much anyway. Still eating chocolate though so have a little fix there Wink

I am only 4dpo though collie, not 9! Grin However, have had a bit of streaky blood in cm when wiped today but that's too early for implantation bleeding and I did have one or two days of slight spotting last cycle too. Do feel like I have got pmt though, a bit crampy and have been really grumpy with ds this morning but I put that down to this bloody headache!

Oh, did I say I was off to see Xfactor Live tonight? Very excited Grin

Afternoon ladies

Hils congrats on your bfp!!!!! Smile

Collie sorry I'm no good at reading charts yet, have added you as a friend on FF though. My chart makes no sense either - [http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/lily06]

Chloe I think caffeine withdrawal can last a long time, especially the headaches. I've just got some Earl Grey decaf so will be giving that a go from today onwards.

Blackkat It is the season for pg announcments? Lots of my friends have fallen pg the past few months too. Or maybe I'm just more sensitive to it now. Don't think I had chance to say before, but really pleased Friday went well for you, was thinking of you.

Its interesting to hear how long people have been TTC - sorry, interesting isn't really the right word. I'll have been TTC almost 2 years this month, and have only managed 1 ectopic and 1 mc so far.
I don't ovulate every month, and though my periods were very regular pre ectopic they're now a bit more erractic. I think a lot of us are in the same boat, and even with charting it makes it really hard to work out cycles etc.

Very envious of the runners today. I did the great north run two years ago and really enjoyed it (well, more like the great north jog downhill, walk uphill, but still Grin), would love to get back into jogging again, especially now the sun is out.

Blackkat · 02/03/2011 13:42

lily V.impressed by the GNR, I'd love to manage it one day Grin

I know what you mean abt interesting (tho not the right word!) stories about TTC, feeling a bit Blush about my whinge earlier. So sorry to hear it's nearly 2 years for you too.

Inspired to get a cup of earl grey....mmmm

meliesmummy · 02/03/2011 14:13

Sorry you are all struggling at the moment with the ttc, we only started last June and it's so so hard, you are all incredibly brave, I wish you all the best of luck for this month, big big hugs x

Also good on you runners! I've got no staying power when it comes to exercise, I will take dd for a walk later tho, spring has at last sprung here! Roll on summer!

lily06 · 02/03/2011 14:26

Haahaa, my GNR effort was funny really. I started training (and I use the word very loosely!) in the May for the race in the September. It took me 3 hours 15 mins. Bear in mind that the serious runners do it in just over an hour..... That aside, I really enjoyed it, the atmosphere is amazing and everyone is so friendly. I haven't jogged since but would really love to get back in to it. I was supposed to do it last year but the mc got in the way. I didn't book for this year in the hope that I will be pg by then....hmmmm....

In a way its good to know that its common to take so long TTC, I think its easy to assume that everyone conceives at the drop of a hat. One of my old school friends just posted her scan pic on FB. I was really envious, and thought all kinds of horrible things about how easy it is for other people. Then when I read down her profile she'd had a MC last year Blush

Mel I'd love to say I'm brave, but I'm not. My reaction after the ectopic was to give up. But then the pain dulls after a while and it was the same with the mc last year. Eventually you have only two choices - give up or just carry on and try again. I guess (since we're here) we have all chosen to carry on and cope as best we can.

Collie2 · 02/03/2011 15:14

lily you do sound brave, even if you don't think you are. You sound like you've had a really rough ride of it too and i am slighly Blush and my moaning on. When was your ectopic? and how far gone where you? So sorry hun, there are a few of you that have really been through it.....sorry for my 'most people on here are early in the ttc journey', i hope i didn't offend anyone. Blush again.

Well done lily for doing the GNR. It doesn't matter how long it took you, at least you can say you did it! I have wanted to get my arse in gear for a while to do a run, but i'm always making excuses. Was going to do a 10K run in St Helens but didn't sign up as was pg, followed by mc. There is always the Liverpool 1/2 marathon but i am not sure i have than in me... Hmm

lily06 · 02/03/2011 15:58

Oh Collie please don't ever think you shouldn't moan on here - that's what this place is for!! We've all had a difficult time. My ectopic was in January last year. I had been feeling really ill for about 7 or 8 weeks, but kept testing negative despite not having had a peroid since october. The pain started about christmas and then trips back and forth to emergency gp then a&e (all hopeless - one said pelvic infection, the other said mc so not important and just wait til monday). Eventually a week on I was admitted to hosp and had emergency surgery to remove my tube. That's really my biggest fear this time around. My mc was natural in Apr/May time last year, but they're not sure if it was ectopic or not as it was too early to tell.

olismum23 · 02/03/2011 16:19

Afternoon All,

Sorry it is a quick post just to say i am going to wait till sunday to test tuesday will be the 28 days after m/c so it makes sense to wait a little longer

Although ninu I have the same "symptoms" as you quite bad cramps, constipation and loads of mucus (sorry if tmi)

Here is hoping its a lucky month my cycle used to be 30-31 days but i dont really have time to go on this being the WTF cycle just testing like mad but thinking me and ninu could be around the same area.....

Collie2 · 02/03/2011 16:28

Ninu i had loads of cm in the mid-back end of my wtf cycle too.... and i mean lots! No idea why, but maybe i used all my cm up last month and that explains its absence this month?? hmmm Hmm

Oh lily your ectopic sounds just awful and tramatic. I hope 2011 is better than your 2010. Smile

afternoon all, wow can't believe how busy it's been on here this morning. Grin

was just thinking and would like to know all your opinions, would you like to just have a list of ttc but without the cd's? i'm pretty sure most of you know what day you are. Let me know what you think, if you'd like it to stay as is? we could always bring in another title for those who are ttc but don't want the cd on there. or we could just mention cycle if people want something on there.

i don't run anywhere. i don't run if i'm late for a bus. and since i learnt to drive i've never taken a bus anywhere anyway so that's ok. Grin

collie ok i had a look at your chart. sometimes temps can dip before ovulation. mine dipped 2 days before here
stress can make you ovulate a bit later. Yes it is natural for women to have the odd cycle where you don't ovulate. it is completely normal, and if it is like that this month for you then it's just sods law. Sad opk's - hate them, as everyone on here knows (may have mentioned once or twice) i have never had a positive. i don't trust them. It is also completely normal for some people to not have a lot of cm.

Please don't get disheartened, please remember that it is only cycle 1, if you get worried about cm i've mentioned preseed before £13.96 on amazon. Just keep dtd often. and test cm several times a day. (well a few anyway)

Chloe55 · 02/03/2011 16:46

Welcome vegas Sorry for your loss but this thread is a great place for advice/a rant/a friendly ear. As far as TTC again goes then it's mixed opinions. Some gps like you to wait a month but I wonder whether this is mainly for dating purposes. Whatever you decide to do I would def wait until you get a negaive on an HPT.

Cep Where you been all day? Grin I like the CDs on, I am a bit slack and like the reminder, I also like to see it go up each day, the tumbling down bit isn't as nice but hey ho, they get a vote to stay from me.
