This is the place to be for all those wanting to TTC after miscarriage, or have plans on TTC in the relatively near future. This thread is full of support from people who have been there and no how you are feeling so jump on board and share the Wine and chocolate (or water and celery for those of you off alcohol and caffeine Wink)

The thread moves fast so bob in and out as you please. Ask any questions that have been niggling you or that you are concerned about, perhaps someone here has experienced the same in the past.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread

This is the old thread ref:

Stats to follow.

hi to newbies artifarti and if welcome to the thread, the ladies are lovely here and very suportive, sorry for your loses and that you have to be here Sad

Thanks collie i just want to know whats going on, i even just POAS to check OV and it was negative should have known better really...im hating this WTF cycle so appropriately named but so hard too Sad and as for the nov / dec baby i too was adamant that as my DD birthday is oct it would be nice to have a summer babe instead Grin, but as you say right now i wouldnt care which month just so long as im lucky enough to fall and sustain a pregnancy again [fx emoticon]

AandRMum · 12/02/2011 15:49

Oooo Well done Izzy enjoy the 2ww!

AandRMum · 12/02/2011 16:02

Hi if and arti sorry you've had such a rough time.

I'm fine Chloe thanks for asking. Am just very tired and rather teary despite feeling just fine in myself. I would love to think they are symptoms but I doubt it. I think it is more to do with not enough sleep.

Hils74 · 12/02/2011 16:27

Hi all, welcome Arti and If, so sorry for your losses.

Well DP and I have decided not to wait for AF so are now officially TTC again. Managed to DTD last night and this morning (TMI) but as I am on the WTF cycle I have no idea if it will do any good! I think it will be a case of every other day over the next week just in case :)

I've been reading up on the food / drink advice and as I am addicted to Brew and enjoy the odd glass of Wine I think I'm going to do everything in moderation. It didn't stop me getting PG last time...

Can someone please update my stats? I don't want to mess up the list...

HIls74 TTC#1 MC#1 Jan 2011 WTF cycle

Ninunina · 12/02/2011 17:07

Hils74 DH and I have just had the same disussion and have decided that we're not going to wait for AF either. Can't start just yet since stuff is still going on down there, but I'm looking forward to when we can.

In the mean time I'll enjoy some unpasturised cheese, fois gras and maybe a nice glass of pinot noir (so much for the healthy regime)

Thanks for the Biscuit and Brew Mumtum

Blackkat · 12/02/2011 17:25

Welcome ifat and arti so sorry to hear about your losses. Sad The links Cep posted are very, very helpful.

Ifat my heart goes out to you bcs I know how awful it feels to be TTC for so long Sad - we were 3 and a half years before BFP and subsequent M/C. ((hugs)) [total bastard emoticon]

FX for you cep and izz

kat FX for you too with the non-stress and relax approach

velvet so sorry to hear you are heading to the common room too - please remind A&R to let your DH out of the shed first though! FX for you.

Chloe pleased you are staying put!!

A&R hope you are feeling better today.

Collie how was the theatre?

Big waves to everyone else...and mouse are you there, how are you?

Chloe55 · 12/02/2011 17:50

Evening ladies,

Oh my god, I am taking a breather out from 4 rowdy 5 year old boys. MacDonals done. Party games done. On with colouring, done. Just got the night to get through now coz it's a sleepover. I think I might be a bit mad!! Grin Cheaper than a party though Wink

Welcome it Ifatfirst and Arti Smile Sorry you find yourselves here and I hope your stay isn't too long. The WTF cycle really sucks unfortunately.

My AF isn't too pleasant this time round (are they ever??!) but had to get out of bed 3 times last night to change my pjs due to blood clots explosion (sorry if TMI) but I don't know how my body gets through a period without giving up from lack of blood - an eggcup full my arse!! Am on day 2 of Clomid too and feel like I could kill. Having to be really controlled though for ds's sake, will be glad for bedtime though.

Anyway, better shoot as am getting glared at by dh for being on here!

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Smile Blimey, I am never going to remember everyone! And thanks for the links, they are great.

This whole thing does strange things to you, doesn't it? At some point during my obsessive trawling of the tinterweb for information I read some probably spurious statistic that eating lots of fruit and veg reduces your risk of miscarriage so DP and I are now engaged in Fruit Wars, a daily battle to see who can eat the most fruit. He is winning today, mainly due to me finding half a KitKat at the back of the fridge.

Collie - my trip is to Nairobbery Nairobi to spend three days in meetings with my irritating colleagues. Not looking forward to it, not least because I have never left my lovely DS for that long before. Sad Just hope my hormones aren't still as bonkers by then.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

cep · 12/02/2011 18:15

ninu and hils glad you're getting straight back on the wagon (or bed as it were) Grin mine insisted on waiting which was v frustrating.

chloe what's af normally like? that does sound rather heavy. Mine was so light last time i reckon my next one is going to be like that.

i reckon i have ov'd looking at my chart it's mirroring my previous temps although 2 days later.

here

mumtum how are you feeling hon?

mouse how are you hon are you about?

hello to everyone else, waves madly.

Can I ask (for those of you that tested after mc, especially after an ERPC) how long it took to get a negative pregnancy test? And how long until your periods returned? It all feels like forever at the moment...

Blackkat · 12/02/2011 18:27

Hi - 2 weeks 2 days since my emergency ERPC (m/c found at 12 week scan, 2 weeks before)EPU said my HCG was still showing + this Weds. No sign of AF - but ovaries feel sore like they do when I o/v but am assuming that's just my body settling down.

Will poas next week to see if I get a BFN.

Hope this helps.

cep · 12/02/2011 18:35

arti i'm afraid i had a natural, it took 5 weeks for my af, i didn't know to test until it was too late. Did you read the previous links?

Was thinking of maybe putting a common room heading on the list what do you all think?

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 12/02/2011 19:08

You're all such a lovely bunch, thanks for the kind welcomes. Enjoy your Saturday night, and if it's anything like mine that will involve a lot of WINE! Wine Grin

AandRMum · 12/02/2011 19:20

arti I had a mmc picked up 12 weeks but bean was 9+4 followed by an ERPC. I bled for about a week and then had some random bleeds for about a week and then brown spotting generally after sex. My af arrived 5 weeks after ERPC, but anything up to 7 weeks is considered completely normal.

Not sure what a common room heading is CEP

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 12/02/2011 19:25

cep no, keep us on the list for now - I think we all (especially mummya - if you're reading Grin ) wanted to stay on, and we will be popping in sometimes (prime example right now!) and will update re af etc (anyway we have to report back on the SMEG experiment!)

Wine for all - well, it is Saturday night... xx

cep · 12/02/2011 19:29

okey dokey izzy Smile

LILI80 · 12/02/2011 20:06

Welcome arti and ifat sorry u find yourselves here but all of the lovely ladies on here will really be here for you.

arti I got a negative test about 2 wks after erpc and got my period 6wks after erpc.

As someone who has just finished the wtf cycle I know exactly how you and ifat are feeling. It is horrendous but I have to say when I finally got mine it was a relief as it meant things were getting back to normal.

to cep AandR Mumtum Collie chloe55 blackkat and anyone else I missed xx

artifarti · 12/02/2011 20:10

Thanks everyone - and so sorry for all your losses. I hope to see bad news turn to good on this thread over the coming weeks/months.

Yes, LILI, the WTF cycle is the pits! Everything I have read confirms what everyone is saying - that periods usually return 5 or 6 weeks later - but I just want to fast-forward time

LILI80 · 12/02/2011 20:13

Decided to post again as need to share my awful moment with you.

I went in to work today on overtime and a colleague who I haven't seen for a while came to see me and started talking about Amanda Holden and how awful it was about her losing the baby, he then said 'I take it everything is going ok with you?"

Cue a really horrendous akward moment when I said "actually I lost my baby just before christmas" He was obviously shocked and felt awful about asking me which wasn't his fault as he didn't know but it was so quiet in the office that at least another 3 people heard me telling him.

Needless to say after that my work was absolute crap as couldn't stop thinking about mc and what would have been.

Sorry to off load so much but it's been a tough week what with my close friend announcing her pg at work and everyone asking me how she's doing!

I'll stop writing war and peace now! Smile

Blackkat · 12/02/2011 20:18

Oh lili how awful for you Sad

Sounds like you held it together in front of your colleagues, well done you.

It's so difficult thinking about what would've been and going over that regret again and again isn't it. So sorry that you've been in that place again today, thinking of you ((hugs)).

Hope you are having a better evening and a cheeky Wine maybe?
xx

LILI80 · 12/02/2011 20:29

thanks blackkat it felt really strange saying it out loud like that. Not sure how I managed to keep it together but I have to say after that my stress levels were seriously high!

It is really hard especially now everyone knows about my friend. I would have been due 4wks before her. Sad

Anyway enough of me feeling sorry for myself and yes I am definitely having a few cheeky Wine Grin

Blackkat · 12/02/2011 20:34

Glad you are having a better evening. clinks Wine with lili

Another pregnancy around the same due date is so tough isn't it. We have some friends who are having their second two weeks after I was due. A group of us go on holiday together every year and we have just backed out bcs I know I can't bear to watch someone be nearly as pregnant as I would've been Sad

Ninunina · 12/02/2011 20:41

Lili80 that was very brave of you to say it out loud. I don't know if I could have done it without busting into tears.

I'm dreading going back to work on Monday since I told my manager what happened. I know she's going to ask how I'm doing, but I don't think I'll be able to answer without getting all teary. I don't really know what to say when people ask me why I was off sick. I'm such a bad liar.

< clinking Lili's Wine for a BFP for everyone>

LILI80 · 12/02/2011 21:02

Aww blackkat my turn to give you big

Big for you too Ninu The first day back is always tough and don't worry if you do get tearful people will understand and I think most of us got tearful on our first day back at work!

Most people knew I had miscarried and seemed genuinely concerned for me although there was one person who didn't know and he asked where I'd been as he hadn't seen me for a while! I have to say that time I couldn't face telling him (it always seems to be the men!) so made some lame excuse about not being very well but I was ok now.

It will be hard but see it as a step forward.

My new mantra is 'what ever doesn't kill me can only make me stronger'

Will be thinking of youxx
