This is the place to be for all those wanting to TTC after miscarriage, or have plans on TTC in the relatively near future. This thread is full of support from people who have been there and no how you are feeling so jump on board and share the Wine and chocolate (or water and celery for those of you off alcohol and caffeine Wink)

The thread moves fast so bob in and out as you please. Ask any questions that have been niggling you or that you are concerned about, perhaps someone here has experienced the same in the past.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread

This is the old thread ref:

Trust me every 2 day is what i am doing it only been two weeks im totally done in!! should be worth it though Grin

Collie2 · 25/02/2011 20:10

When did you mc last time cep ? well we'll be here to hold you hand through it x

Collie2 · 25/02/2011 20:11

Lol oils that's impressive! Very determined!! Grin

olismum23 · 25/02/2011 20:13

sorry i mean every other day lol :)

cep · 25/02/2011 20:22

I had a small bleed (on a wipe) at just before 7 weeks, had a scan saw h/b everything seemed ok, then had another slight bleed (again on a wipe) at about 11 weeks went for another scan and it'd died at 7 weeks. i want to ask if i can have a scan at about 9 weeks, but don't know if they'll give me one. dh reckons i should just tell them i've had a bleed to get one. which sounds absolutely awful.

LILI80 · 25/02/2011 20:31

olis you need a gold star for that effort Grin. I so want another baby though that i'm going to try and take the drs advice!

collie thank you she was lovely. I know what you mean about us being on a long cycle and exactly how much sex that involves! Grin I'm going to give it a go and see it as getting fit in the process Wink

cep Think you should mention about getting an early scan,it's worth it just to try and put your mind at ease. My DR did say it wouldn't be before 7wks but certainly from 8wks onwards they would try and scan. Can imagine how scared and anxious you are, think it's only natural after everything. If it helps any my dr said that the chances of having a heathly pregnancy after m/c are really high Smile

LILI80 · 25/02/2011 20:34

sorry cep just x posted.

I sort of agree with your DH. If it gets you a scan it's worth it....

Collie2 · 25/02/2011 20:35

Oh cep isn't it so cruel how it happens?! Not for you this time though. To be honest I said exactly the same thing after I mc. That I would demand an early scan and lie if they wouldn't give it to me. I don't know if I could though. It does seem very wrong and would hate to temp fate (which I don't really even believe in) but on the other hand I can imagine every week symptom spotting could feel like an eternity. I think see how you go and cope. I know they are expensive but maybe you could buy one private, a friend of mine did at 9 weeks after she mc at 8. Think of all the money you'll be saving now on cbdigis!! Grin

banana87 · 25/02/2011 20:36

Shit! I'm on CD 11. Should I be having EWCM now if I am getting ready to ov? I don't seem to have any...perhaps will go out and get some digital ov tests tomorrow!

Congrats cep and MummyA. Fx I am joining you both soon :)

Collie2 · 25/02/2011 20:37

Grin at your 'seeing it as getting fit' comment LILI that really is putting a positive on it!! Lol

banana87 · 25/02/2011 20:37

Cep Are you near St. George's in Tooting? They will scan you with no referral at the EPU, just walk in (for 8am as its first come, first serve).

cep · 25/02/2011 20:46

i was going to make an appointment for about 8 weeks anyway. so will ask and see what they say. I just don't see the point of going through a booking with the midwife until i know the bean is ok.

cep · 25/02/2011 20:58

banana some people only have a days worth of ewcm. if you find you don't get much/enough, preseed is really good. i don't unfortunately i'm down fareham way. i think my local epu has to be dr referred.

cep · 25/02/2011 21:01

collie i can't really afford to get a private scan. when i had one with ds (ooh 3 yrs ago??) it was £50 then goodness knows how much it is now.

meliesmummy · 25/02/2011 21:14

Thanks again everyone x

My dh isn't going away tomorrow now, he knows I'm struggling and says he's not in the mood for it. The stag was our best man, a friend from uni that we dont see that often any more and I think we both feel that we don't have much in common with that group anymore, we're the only ones with a child and we've grown apart. I'm glad he's not going but I wouldn't have asked him not to, it'll be nice to have a family weekend before I'm back to working every weekend again.

cep scans around here cost about £100, I'm going to have one (even tho the clinics an hours drive away, the local private hosp to me won't do them till after an NHS one for done reason) bcos I was told I would only get an early one if I bled again. The hosp dr told me that tho, I'm hoping my gp or midwife will be a bit more understanding.

LILI glad it all went well

Good night

cep · 25/02/2011 21:31

mel am glad dh is staying home with you this weekend. will be nice for you to have a good weekend before you go back to work. What area do you work in? what days do you have off if you work every weekend?

i jut checked the same place as i went before and it was £55 now so not gone up too much, but i just don't think we can afford it.

Collie2 · 25/02/2011 21:37

You do what you need to cep, to get that scan on nhs then to get piece of mind xx

cep · 25/02/2011 21:42

i think like you said collie my fear is of tempting fate, saying something is wrong when actually it isn't and then something does go wrong. sorry it's only day 1 and already i'm getting daft. right i'm off to bed, will try to get a good night sleep.

Ninunina · 25/02/2011 23:09

cep hopefully your gp will refer you for an early scan. Perhaps you just need to show that your worried, and maybe say you have cramps. But in the mean time try and enjoy the bfp! :) hopefully we'll be joining you soon, so we can stress together.

Iggly · 26/02/2011 07:02

Hi ladies (and hi cep from the bus!)

I wondered if I could join in please? I was kicked off the November bus by AF this week. Had a miscarriage last November, ended up in hospital, lost a lot of blood, had an ERPC (have I got the letters right?!) and took about 5 weeks to feel normal. On third cycle since then. Not sure everything is back to normal although have had two AFs and on my third. Cycle lengths are a bit irregular - used to be like clockwork.

Anyway I thought this seemed a nice friendly place to share my TTC adventure as finding it harder as yesterday another woman I know who had a DD the same time as DS is pregnant.

Sorry for the ramble!

cep · 26/02/2011 07:51

thanks ninu i have no doubt you will all be right behind me. Grin and i want to be here to see it.

iggly welcome, there are a few ladies on here you'll recognise from the bus. i'm sorry for your loss in november, sounds like you had a really traumatic time. This is definately the place to be for support and answers to any queries (if we can) feel free to rant (or ramble Grin) and stress as and when you need to. Do you want to be added to the stats? i had that with a pg lady, she had dd a week before i had ds, she had her second in jan.

blackkat are you around today honey? are you ok?

mumtum haven't seen you for a while are you ok?

hadrian · 26/02/2011 08:43

Morning all and hello to iggly. I'm very sorry for your loss and you are most welcome here. I'm ttc my first and my MC was in December. Am now in my first proper cycle after the WTF cycle so we are in about the same place. It's a tough old journey isn't it?

melis and olis I'm being driven mad at the moment by friends with babies, friends giving birth, friends getting pg. If one more person tells me the glorious news that they are pg I'm going to scream. Am trying to be happy for everyone but think it's easier to be honest with myself and recognise that it makes me sad and there's nothing I can do about that.

My SIL is pg with her 4th and due 5 days after I was due. We'd had all those conversations about our babies growing up together. Now I can't even talk to her or my brother about it. Am hoping I'll be able to deal with it by the time the baby comes in July...

Sorry for the miserable post, I'm not feeling miserable at all today but once you start a rant it's hard to stop!

cep how are you feeling today? I think you're holding it together really well so far!

Tokyotwist · 26/02/2011 08:46

Hi Everyone,

I haven't had a chance to read through the past few days yet, but I just wanted to pop in and say hello.

I've spent the last few days dealing with dd who's been poorly. She still is but after a visit to hospital yesterday we now have antibiotics for tonsillitis, so at least I know what's wrong now.

I am so fed up of hospitals, illnesses, and winter and burst into tears at the GPs yesterday and then apologised for being such a basket case. Poor guy probably thought I was nuts.

Anyway, hello everyone and hope the week ahead is sunny for us all.

meliesmummy · 26/02/2011 08:49

Hi iggly, sorry you had to jump off the bus but welcome.

cep I'm a scbu nurse, I work mainly nights, 2 shifts a week, one is usually at the weekend for childcare reasons. My dd goes to nursery 2 mornings a week so I can catch up on sleep. I'm going back on Monday night as long as my scan mon morning is clear. I'm not sure how it'll go, I'm not looking forward to it to be honest. Plus I live an hours drive from work so it'll be a long hard night I think.

I'm beginning to see a pattern here, has anyone else noticed that we mostly seem to have lost our second babies? It's seems to be the same in rl for me too, I don't believe those stats about the first pregnancy being the most likely to mc any more!

meliesmummy · 26/02/2011 08:53

tokyo and Hadrian I just notice you'd posted whilst I was writing my last one, sorry you are both having a hard time. I know what you mean about hospitals, my dd hurt her foot a few days after my mc so we've been back and forth a lot, I've had enough of those places!
