This is the place to be for all those wanting to TTC after miscarriage, or have plans on TTC in the relatively near future. This thread is full of support from people who have been there and no how you are feeling so jump on board and share the Wine and chocolate (or water and celery for those of you off alcohol and caffeine Wink)

The thread moves fast so bob in and out as you please. Ask any questions that have been niggling you or that you are concerned about, perhaps someone here has experienced the same in the past.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread

This is the old thread ref:

Stats to follow.

loola2shus · 24/02/2011 17:58

Chloe- it is probably right, they normally say that it can take upto 8mins for a positive- however am I right in thinking you have PCOS? If thats the case then LH is higher than normal anyway so may be a false positive IYSWIM

cep · 24/02/2011 18:04

if it's within the timeframe on instructions then i would have said it was correct. grief Grin You'll be coming back more knackered than when you go. have lots of fun Wink

Chloe55 · 24/02/2011 18:06

OP posts:

Chloe55 · 24/02/2011 18:08

Sorry, stupid dog just plonked her head on all the keys! Yes, as I was saying, haven't had a positive one yet so am being hopeful that my body is actually ovulating this time. Anyway, all I can do is bonk away and see where we get Grin

OP posts:
cep · 24/02/2011 18:09

meliesmummy · 24/02/2011 18:11

cep I'm glad your dr seems to be on the case and that all was neg. Chloe enjoy your weekend away, I'm jealous! olis sorry you're having a hard time, I know the feeling! I hope you get your positive soon.

Just got home from the kids play rainbow fish, where I learnt to be nice to my friends and not to be vain. Hot dogs for dinner, no time forsnything else! (well for dd and dh, I'm vegi so quorn for me!) I stocked up on brazil nuts earlier in sainsburys, their portion size on the back is 30g, when I weighed some that's about 10, does that sound enough for what I need? I don't want to go over that bcos I've got slightly high cholesterol and they're so high in fat.

cep · 24/02/2011 18:14

mel i was only having 5 a day. (i read that was the suggested amount but can't remember where i read it.)

It was a different dr to my normal one, this dr sees everyone for all problems in about 5 mins and most of them come out with a prescription. But at least he's given me something still a bit Hmm about taking it though with being so untested in early pregnancy.

Collie2 · 24/02/2011 18:56

chloe the +ive line can take 5-10 mins to appear but if you left it for an hour I wouldn't be so sure. I often leave mine out and put them in the bin an hour or so later and they often have a line. I did one this morning and nothing and left it all day and now there is a line, I get that alot. How dark is the line? I find the lines that appear after a while are shadows, at best a broken line. If it's a dark solid line, same as the test, I'd say it's reliable. Do you not have another you can pee on? I'd swi anyway, it wouldn't be a dirty weekend away if you didn't!! Shock Grin have a great break. X

Blackkat · 24/02/2011 19:01

Hello everyone,

olis try this link re cycle length. www.pregnancyloss.info/waitingforaf.htm
Personally, I'm 6 weeks since scan, 2 weeks since ERPC and 3 weeks since last bleed, so I'm dating from the ERPC. GP advised me to revisit her if I hadn't seen AF 6 weeks from ERPC date. HTH

laylas sorry to hear you're having a bad day, will be thinking of you on the 8th. Sad

chloe agree with loola opk's can be misleading with PCOS, I can't ever get a line but know thru bloods I'm o/v...not much help sorry but have a lovely wknd

cep glad doc seems more on the case, stil grinning for you Grin

collie get DH to eat brazils too - great for swimmers

melies 5/6 is considered a brazil nut "portion" I believe, but can't remember where the hell I read it! Glad you had a better day

mouse any news on blood test results? Good I hope FX 9((hugs))

thanks for all your kind wishes for tomorrow, on the advice of the lovely mouse we are going to go for a nice meal in bamburgh afterwards.
PIL = parents in law, and friends are ok, thanks all for asking.

Blackkat · 24/02/2011 19:06

olis sorry that should read 6 weeks since scan, 4 weeks since ERPC and 3 weeks since stopping bleeding.

LILI80 · 24/02/2011 19:08

Yay cep & mummyabroad !!! So pleased for you both Grin This is turning into a lucky thread! It's so lovely after everything you've both been through xx

melis my app for drs is tomorrow - so we'll see what is said!

Well despite the extra bleeding I'm going to be swi tonight and probably the next couple of nights as this morning I got quite a bit of watery discharge which all being well is a sign I'm approaching most fertile! It was tinged with pink but watery all the same!

cep · 24/02/2011 19:29

thanks lili good luck for the drs tomorrow.

meliesmummy · 24/02/2011 19:30

cep what cream is it? I've got access to the online national formulary (basically a list of all the drugs that drs are allowed to prescribe) if you want me to see what that says?

Hils74 · 24/02/2011 19:32

Congrats mummya and cep, so pleased for you both!

Hi ladies, how are you all? I've been lurking so just reading what you have all been saying. Thanks for the link blackcat I didn't know when to expect my first af as its been 3 weeks since mc so I suppose it will arrive anytime from next week on...

DP is off on a stag do Sat for a week so don't know whether to do a sneaky test while he's away, just in case :) But as its my WTF cycle I doubt it will be +ve. Thinking about doing the pineapple juice and brazil nuts for cycle 2!

Ninunina · 24/02/2011 19:51

Contratulation cep I'm so pleased for you. Please please stay on this thread! Won't be the same without you.

I'm convinced that this is a lucky thread & hope every single one of us gets a BFP :)

Olismum we seem to have m/c at about the same time. I'm taking my CD1 from the day I stopped bleeding (when my hcg levels were

cep · 24/02/2011 21:16

ok am i being stupid???? i just inserted the first dose of the cream (mel its Dalacin cream 2% clindamycin (as phosphate)) but i'm actually feeling really anxious. the insert info sheet says "the useof dalacin cream in the first three months of pregnancy is not ecommended as there is insufficient evidence of safety." Thanks mel that would be great if you can, as long as you wouldn't get into trouble for it.

thanks ninu and hils Smile

Blackkat · 24/02/2011 21:34

cep not stupid, just worried, understandably, we'd all be having the same wobble you are. Hope melies can help. x

olismum23 · 24/02/2011 21:38

Thanks ninu and blackkat and everyone else think i am being a big eager. I looked back at falling pregnant this time and i must have conceived on the 6th of Jan so that would have only been cycle day 10
There are obviously lots of if buts and maybes but if we go with the theory the day i stopped bleeding is CD1 then this is only CD 12 therefore nothing would show up even in best case senario I have decided to be brave and wait till the 8th of March to test again 1 month after m/c begun and 4 a full cycle so to speak

hadrian · 24/02/2011 21:41

Wow cep congrats! Grin Grin Grin

Too knackered to write more tonight but that is brilliant news x

meliesmummy · 24/02/2011 21:50

Okay cep here goes :

It says in the bnf that clindomycin is poorly absorbed into the blood (ie therefore prob wouldn't even get near your baby) and in pg is 'not known to be harmful' ie. They haven't tested it on pg women bcos they hardly ever do for ethical reasons but no one has reported any serious effects. The reason they're worried is prob mainly bcos of the method of use - where you are sticking an applicator! (sorry if too graphic!) so just be v v gentle. I'm sure your gp wouldn't have prescribed it if he/she didn't think it was safe but if you're worried go back to them, or maybe talk to the pharmacist that filled the script?

Hope that helps x

cep · 24/02/2011 21:56

oh thank you mel that does help a lot. i really appreciate you looking for me. Grin (have to admit i'll still stress at every ache Grin)

Blackkat · 24/02/2011 22:00

Cep Glad that provides some relief! melies what a great thing to be able to do Smile

olis I think you do right to wait, even though that will be tough.

ninu glad to hear you are safe jobwise, remember you've always got us lot to rant talk to!

olismum23 · 24/02/2011 22:06
