This is the place to be for all those wanting to TTC after miscarriage, or have plans on TTC in the relatively near future. This thread is full of support from people who have been there and no how you are feeling so jump on board and share the Wine and chocolate (or water and celery for those of you off alcohol and caffeine Wink)

The thread moves fast so bob in and out as you please. Ask any questions that have been niggling you or that you are concerned about, perhaps someone here has experienced the same in the past.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread

This is the old thread ref:

cep rainbow fish is a childrens play about colours, should be stimulating for me I'm sure!

Collie2 · 22/02/2011 15:31

Hadrian Grin at your lurking in meeting. I'm working from home today, so doing a lot of lurking! Your Sunday party sounds hellish. I think you did well to get through it. I'm in no doubt I'd have needed a drink. How's work now your back? Apart from your boring meeting?!

I'm better today thanks for asking.

cep DH and I did talk about things last night and it did help, but I don't think it's that it's because I'm not talking about things to him as I do, until I get fed up of him not understanding. I guess I need to just accept that's how it is and not get upset when he doesn't understand.

cep · 22/02/2011 16:31

hi hadrian good to see you again. hope they don't assign you something whilst you're on here. Grin sorry about the party and hope you weren't too bad afterwards.

collie glad a talk helped. It's difficult not to get upset, just don't be too hard on yourself (or him Grin) my dh doesn't really understand it all, but then it doesn't help that he doesn't listen. That's why i'm so glad i've got you guys to talk all my madness through with. (please don't groan too loudly) Grin

ok so much for not testing again, and still not with fmu. Used the last fr test still bfn, but to be honest not sure what i'm expecting as when pg with ds was only after missed af that i tested (didn't think would work so quickly so wasn't testing) and my last pg didn't go bfp until about 5-6 days after period. so don't know why i seem to think i'd get one early. Confused

Grin i ordered tesco hpt's for my home delivery when they arrived i'd been price checked i got tesco digital (£10. for 2) for the good price of their cheapy ones £3.65 for 2.

Collie2 · 22/02/2011 17:37

Oh cep < for you!!! Consider yourself fish slaped! I so gad money on you waiting till tomorrow! Grin sorry it was a bfn. Now put that nice shiney tesco digi in a the back of a draw until Friday. Go on, you can do it. (yay at the price check though) Smile

cep · 22/02/2011 17:46

Blush i know i can't believe i did, was so strong this morning, but as the day went on and i didn't get any spotting on st, i melted. Smile ok i have new pack of tesco digi which can't be used till day of af, and 1 cb digi, i will be strong till friday. brownie promise.

(although i may come on here moaning again until then.....or until af appears. then i'll just be depressed) you must get fed up reading this collie as we're on the other thread as well. Grin

cep · 22/02/2011 17:47
  • due day of af that is. Grin
LILI80 · 22/02/2011 18:25

melis Hope you have a lovely time on Thursday. I just loved watching my DD reaction to seeing the characters. It's like everything is so amazing to them!

cep The fireman sam show was at a proper theatre. It was basically people dressed up as the characters but it was really good and my DD had a fab time dancing and shouting with the other kids. Also good price on tests didn't realise tesco did their own! Stay strong don't give in Smile

collie Smile at your googling. It is a nightmare! I wish I was a doctor as I could then diagnose myself - although saying that I would even worse than I am now!

My friend who has just had the baby has invited me round tomorrow Hmm . Think tomorrow is going to be tough as it'll be the first newborn I'll have seen since the m/c Sad. My friend is still putting regular fb entries on and I'm still regularly reading them (god I like torturing myself!)

Really feel like I need to get away from all of pg friends at the moment - they've all forgotten what I've been through and I've had a few insensitive remarks recently. Sorry to moan feel like this second bleeding and my friend giving birth has made my m/c feel really raw again. Sad

cep · 22/02/2011 18:35

lili glad that dd enjoyed fireman sam, how old is she? they do i think they're from date af is due but 2 for 3.65 i didn't think was to bad. Grin ofcourse 2 digi for that price was even better.

Do you want to go round??? if not can you think of an excuse?? i'm sorry things have gotten tough again at the moment. keep away from them if you need to, there's nothing wrong with that, especially if you're getting hurtful comments.

Collie2 · 22/02/2011 19:18

Moan away cep I do plenty of it! Smile good kick holding out till Friday, I'll bevery proud. Sorry your struggling, I hope you get your bfp.

Your ff membership now its basic will it still do the crosshairs for you?

meliesmummy · 22/02/2011 19:23

I'm glad you enjoyed fireman sam LILI, I know what you mean about seeing their faces, one of my favourite days ever was when my dd was 18 months old and we took her to one of those days out with Thomas, the look on her face when she saw the 'real' Thomas was absolutely priceless!

Thats useful info that tescos now do their own digital tests, I'm sure I'll be buying a lot few of those over the next few months!

Back to my Wine - cheers everyone!

cep · 22/02/2011 19:59

collie yes it should do, it should tell you when you have ovulated, but it won't predict like it did with the colours on the calendar view. got a lil bit of pink when i wiped earlier so not so optimistic now. oh well af is due sat so at least i can drink at weekend. And you asked earlier about my results i need to phone on thursday to speak to them. Thanks for remembering that was really sweet. Smile

mel it looks like 1 holder 2 tests insert before dipping. is supposed to be £10 something. i normally just use their cheapy non digi ones, it's only cause they'd run out and they price checked. But can only be used from date of af.

Ninunina · 22/02/2011 21:56

Hello ladies,

Since it looks like we've got a few compulsive testers in this thread, shall we keep each other posted with the best deals?

I've just ordered some CB twin pack & CBdigi twin pack off amazon for around £7- any other good offers out there.

P.S. Discovered that the supercheap ebay strip tests are absolutely useless. I'm hoping the OPK are a bit better since I'm not forking out £16-£20 for the CB ones.

CD8 for me- let the SMEG plan begin :o

cep · 23/02/2011 07:24

i read on another thread that first response are bogof in boots. Not sure when this offer ends though.

well i have more blood in my cm this morning but still nothing on st.

hope you're all ok.

LILI80 · 23/02/2011 09:11

cep DD is 32 months. It's gone by sooo fast! I've decided I'm going to go round and see friend but only go for an hour, hopefully won't be too bad then Hmm. Going to get some of those tesco ones seeing as my body is obviously still all over the place think I'll need to do some regular testing! Smile fx crossed for you still - roll on Friday Wink

melis how old is your dd?

ninu think that's a good idea. Will see if I find any. good luck smegging!

olismum23 · 23/02/2011 10:40

Morning all my DS is 2 today so lots of cake sweeties and playing with his new train set :)

On the test front i have always used asda's 3.54 for 2 and they are 15mul sensitive so they are good for the money bought 2 yesterday it was BFN so test again next week serves me right for TTC on the WTF cycle...

Hope everyone has a good day

Chloe55 · 23/02/2011 11:47

Morning ladies,

Well I should be SMEGGING but am not doing it to the tee. Had an hours kip on the sofa last night, dh woke me up all amorously but I had a serious headache and was not in the mood so shrugged him off, he went to bed in a strop and when I came up to bed he went downstairs Shock So, when he decided to get jiggy in the middle of the night I told him to fuck right off Blush I am soooo not in the mood for it at the moment but have a sneaky inclin I might be ovulating or at least preparing to as this is how I felt last month. Sod's Law isn't it??!

On a brighter note I am off to Butlins on friday til mon, a birthday present for me and ds, dh is coming too obviously though. Am looking forward to it but not the 4.5 hour drive.

I just have the cheapy ebay tests, I am of the ilk that they will eventually show a BFP if I am pg even if it's a week after AF, the less time I know I am pg the better for me.

LILY I know what you mean about friends forgetting. It's hard as others feel like we have a limited time to get over things, it's been 6mths and I am nowhere near 'over it' yet.

OP posts:
meliesmummy · 23/02/2011 12:41

Happy birthday to oils ds! My dd is 3.

I'm having an awful day, don't feel like myself at all, I've got a really short fuse and I'm feeling really impatient with my dd, not helped by a major headache. It started at the a & e clinic, took my dd to have her cast off :), got there at 9:30 for a 9:35 appointment. They put us in the main waiting area not the kids waiting area, waited patiently for half an hour then went to ask what was happening. Bored uninterested receptionist said to ask a nurse, do I did, only to be told clinic hadn't started bcos there were no patients, I said well what are we then?! Back to waiting area. Waited another 15 mins, dd getting stroppy which was understandable as she was bored. By now I was seeing red. Went back to reception and asked could we at least go in the childrens waiting room so she can play. Sent back to nurses station. Stroppy nurse says no, that area is only for patients!!! Not sure how she defines patients... Anyway I was a bit short with her so I think she wanted rid of us and found a dr. Dr said that they don't have enough staff to allow us into the childrens area (not sure why a waiting room requires staff really but there we are!) Sorry for long post but I needed to rant!

LILI how was the drs?

Collie2 · 23/02/2011 12:54

Morning everyone,

LILI good luck seeing your friend today. I was dreading seeing mine a week ago but it wasn't as bad as i expected. I only stayed an hour too. FB is as much the devil as google. I torcher myself on it all the time and then get really upset. I am so fed up of reading about pg annoucements, or pg or baby related updates. But then aghain i go looking for them. I've told DH i'm going to delete the FB app off my iphone to stop temptation. ....although i haven't yet Blush

I'm reallt sorry your body is all over the place LILI, i think that makes things twice as hard for you as you can't move on and start to ttc again.

cep good luck with the results tomorrow. Sorry you have more blood. It may well be AF coming, but you never know. x

oils really sorry about your BFN. The WTF cycle is hard work i found it very stressful and i think it common to not even ovualte - i don't think i did.

Chloe Smile at you and DH rowing about getting jiggy. I fouight with DH about it too at the weekend as i had a temp rise and thought might be ovulating early. But when you're not in the mood its the last thing you fancy, especiually after words! A weekend in butlins might be just the thing for a bit of SWI though! Grin

Wonders if MumTum's DH has caught her in teh acct and locked her in the cupboard as she's been very quiet.

Blackkat , hope you are ok too. Is it your babys ceremony on Friday? good luck if so. xx

Blackkat · 23/02/2011 13:06

hello all, sorry busy week at work and struggling with RL demands!

Also mini-stress as PIL are holidaying in NZ and were in ChCh when the earthquake struck, few frantic hours yest until we knew, thankfully, they were ok. Waiting to hear from some friends [very worried emoticon]Sad. Can't bloody wait for 2011 to be over. How long is there to go?

4 weeks since EPRC and no sign of AF, baby's service Friday, thanks for remembering Collie so all in all having a crappy week.

hope you're all ok. sorry not to name check will try to catch up this evening

meliesmummy · 23/02/2011 13:27

blackkat I know what you mean about 2011, 2010 was pretty crappy too for us, the baby was meant to be our happy end to a bad year but so far 2011 has been worse...I hope you hear from your friends soon and that Friday goes as well as these things can.

I'm struggling today, after the hospital fiasco I dropped in on a friend who had a daughter the same age as mine plus a new baby. Her dd was horrible to mine (very out of character, a reaction to the baby I think) and whilst my friend took her off to tell her off the baby started crying...I couldn't just leave him so picked him up, it reminded me of what I'd lost:(. Then all the way home dd was asking why her friend wasn't being nice and I just didn't know what to say.

My dh is going away to a stag night on sat and I'm so jealous of the fact that he can just get away and escape all this...part of me resents him going to work every day, even tho I'm dreading going back on Monday myself, I just feel like escaping all this. We can't even have a night out bcos we don't have a local babysitter, my parents are 2 hours away, my sisters 3 hours away and pil live in France.

Thanks for reading, sorry for going on again!

Chloe55 · 23/02/2011 14:31

blackkat I hope you hear news soon - are they very good friends who would likely have let you know they were fine by now? Good news about your PIL though. We have friends over there too but they let us know via FB that everything in their camp is good, I guess FB is good for some things!

Meliesmum Well done for being strong and comforting your friends baby, I can imagine that was difficult. It's awful too when kids are mean to your own, my ds has been coming home from school saying no one plays with his anymore Sad He can be a bit of a bugger though so dh thinks he should be nicer to people, I am not sure if it's just a defence thing with him. It makes you feel helpless though.

OP posts:
cep · 23/02/2011 15:38

argh just wrote a really long response to everyone then for some reason mumsnet closed on me.

i'll try again.

mel sorry your day has been so bad, can't blame you for being angry at the hosp. Welldone for helping with the baby. Are there any friends who wouldn't mind babysitting? while dh is at stag night why don't you have a friend over or have a night to yourself. bottle glass of wine and a box of choccies while watching a film.

lili my ds is 33 months i'm thinking of taking him to see wiggles in May but doubt dh will agree. Thankyou, i haven't tested today Grin

chloe sorry you and dh fell out last night. hopefully you make up (get in the mood) in time. enjoy butlins this weekend.

Blackkat it took 5 weeks after my natural for me to get my af again. glad pil are ok. fx for your friends. My cousin and his wife live in chch thankfully they left a message on facebook saying they're ok. Hope friday goes well, i'll be thinking of you.

collie hope you're ok. i was thinking about mumtum the other day. hope she's ok.

sorry if i've missed anyone i had written a nice long one.

well a bit less blood when i checked a bit earlier. Still nothing on st, if it's gonna come i just wish it would.

What do you all think about putting some of the ones who haven't been on here in ages in the mia list? Not the ones who've told us where they are but the others.

i just booked 4 tickets to see wiggles in brighton in May. dh actually said yes. it's 4 days after ds's 3rd b-day, what timing. i am childishly excited, but also dreading incase ds is badly behaved.

Velvetcu · 23/02/2011 18:41

Hi ladies

Just thought I would pop in and say hi and also tell you that as well as SMEPing this month I also tried brazil nuts post ov - meant to help with implantation and so helps prevent mc. Seems to have worked for me :)

Ninunina · 23/02/2011 20:04

Thanks for the tip Velvetcu I've just gone to Waitrose and bought a bag of Brazil nuts :) Do you think 5 nuts a day is enough? I read the back of pack and it says its high in selenium and magnesium, so it makes sense that its good for TTC. Can't bring myself to drink grapefruit juice though...yuck!!!
