This is the place to be for all those wanting to TTC after miscarriage, or have plans on TTC in the relatively near future. This thread is full of support from people who have been there and no how you are feeling so jump on board and share the Wine and chocolate (or water and celery for those of you off alcohol and caffeine Wink)

The thread moves fast so bob in and out as you please. Ask any questions that have been niggling you or that you are concerned about, perhaps someone here has experienced the same in the past.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread

This is the old thread ref:

mel i know but the funny thing is i really don't think we got our timing right this month, but have got all swept up with this symptom spotting. the last time i caught i didn't get a positive until about 5 days after due, but i'd had a really odd bleed. i just reckon the body should let you know as an xample your big toe turns blue or something until it's born. just think how much money we'd save.

There's nothing wrong with testing today i didn't know to test until too late so don't know how long it takes, if you use a digital then if it's still pos it'll give you a clue as to how long you have left to wait.

cep · 21/02/2011 14:31

i can't count. af is due sat not fri.

Collie2 · 21/02/2011 15:28

Grin at your testing cep but I know I'll be just the same. But I'm affraid you are being thrown a big fish!

Grin at your couting too! Smile

melies I don't know when to text either as I didn't think to until well after bleeding stopped. I think it won't do any harm though, but as cep said if you can get a cbdigj it should at least show that your levels are dropping. Grin at your specsavers comment! I go there too and they are totally useless. Every encouter I have goes wrong in at least one way, usually several.

cep · 21/02/2011 15:39

Grin i know collie and i'll have to accept the fish slap. What's even more worrying is that ff shows the end of cycle and i still got the day wrong. Grin

Chloe55 · 21/02/2011 18:50

Evening ladies,

Thanks for the birthday wishes, had a fab party apart from the end when my dh got barred but that was totally because the manager was a prick - didn't ruin my night though so all was good, didn't get to bed til 8.30am! Shock Think I drank too much diet coke with my vodka and too much tea when I got back in! (I know I shouldn't have been having all the caffeine but sod it, it was my birthday!) Was probably also trying to prove I can still kick it with the young 'uns Grin

Grin to velvet & I think I already congratulated A&R but here's another Grin

Welcome Kayenn, 5 MCs? Sad You must have such strength and I hope that this thread brings you the support it brings me.

Cep I will keep my suspenders on for you.

Collie How horrid that the bloody weather kept your memorial night from working out as planned, it seems such Sod's Law Sad Do you have a stream/river near by? Perhaps it might be a nice idea to write a letter saying everything that you want to and letting it float down stream? That way the weather isn't an issue. Just an idea.

Hadrian Glad you had a lovely time and are now back 'on it' Grin

Sorry I haven't named everyone but big waves to you all.

cep I wouldn't rely on CBdigital before your missed period. I had faint lines with CB, FR & Superdrugs whilst CB digi was saying Not Pregnant.

I've bought a couple for the back of the drawer off Amazon, but they are not coming out before the cheaper ones go positive :)

meliesmummy I don't know if it helps, but the nurse at EPU told me to wait 3 weeks after I stopped bleeding before taking a test. I stopped bleeding a week ago & hcg levels were only 8, but apparently tests will detect even that tiny amount.

cep · 21/02/2011 21:01

chloe glad you had such a fab birthday, although i am now really intrigued as to how your dh got barred. is it a regular haunt? Sounds daft but as much as i'm getting my hopes up, i don't think i've been successful. thanks for the sussies. Grin

ninu i tried the fr as well, although that was in the afternoon. I've never used fr before but found on ff this most of which i've never heard of, but thought was quite interesting, i assume details will change tomorrow to those at 11dpo.

I hope everyone is ok today.

Chloe55 · 21/02/2011 21:08

The manager has been a bit useless for the past few weeks, not making correct bookings etc. He didn't tell his bar staff they were on til 2am either (despite originally telling me the bar would be open til then) so they were looking for every excuse under the sun to close early and used a friend of mine who had hugged another friend by lifting him as a scapegoat for us apparantly being out of control Shock we had kids there and grandparents, we were hardly raucous! Hmm Anyway, the manager then knocked my dh's beer off the bar, I was there, I saw it, as did a couple of others yet the mamager blamed dh and my usually very unconfrontational dh gave him some grief understandably. Anyway, it was almost time to leave so we did and they lost out on a 15 person table booked for the following day so their loss. It was fairly local but not a place I regularly go to so am not too bothered. I have since checked Trip Advisor and the manager has been getting some right slatings on there so he is clearly just a wanker Grin

cep · 21/02/2011 21:15

What an idiot, clearly not been in charge of anything/anyone before. Glad it didn't spoil the night. Have you put a comment on?

am starting to get an ache in my stomach, am thinking may get a visit soon. although still no blood in my cm earlier.

Chloe55 · 21/02/2011 21:31

Oh no Sad well, I hope it does stay away for you.

I haven't left a comment as the woman who was working there was so friendly and accommodating so have been torn as to whether I want to diss the place as she works there, just hope she either gets a new boss or leaves!

OP posts:
cep · 21/02/2011 21:36

you could always put that she was the best bit about it. Hmm

well my battery is about to die so good night and speak to you tomorrow.

lily06 · 21/02/2011 21:53

Evening all, sorry not been around for a few days, a lot going on at the moment. Have to make a difficult trip to the vets tomorrow morning and feeling very Sad. Sorry for the off topic post, just seems like one more thing I can't cope with right now.

Pleased to report no side effects (yet) from Clomid, so thanks to those that suggested taking it at night, guess it has helped.

Chloe55 · 21/02/2011 22:08

lily Great news re the Clomid, I have been much better on it this month too and swopped to taking it at night so has def helped.

Sad news about your vet trip, I was a vet nurse for 10 years so if you need to chat about anything related to that then feel free to PM me if it helps at all.

OP posts:
cep · 22/02/2011 07:13

morning all,

lily so sorry about your trip to the vets this morning. hope you're ok. Glad clomid is going ok for you.

chloe glad your experience with clomid is better this month.

well had a streak of blood in cm last night and this morning. just a small one, but definately blood. Sad so i think am waiting for af now.

hello to everyone hope you're all ok.

LILI80 · 22/02/2011 07:54

Morning ladies

lily sorry to hear about your vet trip

cep I'm going to keep my fx for you. Hope you're ok.

I've now stopped bleeding but still going to go to doctors on Friday. I made the mistake of googling my symptoms and it could be anything from cervical cancer to pcos to implantation bleeding! So Confused

Think I'm going to push for a scan so we can se what's going on in there!

My friend gave birth to a baby girl yesterday. Pics of her are really cute but was hard as friend was putting constant updates on fb while in labour and since her little girl has arrived there's been an update every couple of hours as to how happy she is etc etc

On to happier things for me - I'm taking my DD to see Fireman Sam today, she loves him so should be fun Smile

Anyone I've missed!

meliesmummy · 22/02/2011 08:30

Good morning! Does anyone else have loads of blank space at the top of the thread or is it just me? I thought it had disappeared!

LILI I hope it goes well at the drs, and that you get some answers/reassurance. Enjoy fireman sam! We're taking dd to her first theatre trip on thurs to see rainbow fish, I hope she can keep still!

Sorry to hear about your ill pet lily , it really seems things happenall ag once sometimes, and your spotting cep.

I'm glad you enjoyed your bday Chloe sorry the manager was such an a**e!

I'm enjoying a lie in whilst my dds in nursery, then off to town to battle with myself in boots, to buy or not to buy some tests? And I'm going to spend the voucher I was given for xmas supposedly for maternity clothes on normal clothes, so a :) plus :( day really!

Chloe55 · 22/02/2011 10:40

meliesmum buy your tests off ebay, I could not believe the difference in price - will save you a fortune and mine came the next day!

LILI Glad the bleeding has stopped but like you say, still worth a gp visit to put your mind at rest.

OP posts:
Collie2 · 22/02/2011 10:45

Chloe so glad you had a lovely birthday. Trying to keep up with the young-uns (or in my case anyone as i am a complete light weight) is a recipe for a major hangover! Hope you didn't suffer too much. Don't feel bad for enjoying yourself though, you only turn 30 once and you certainly deserved to let of steam! Sorry to hear the manager was a pr*ck, sounds like you didn't let it spoil anything though.

Thanks for your suggestion chloe about the letter and sending it down the river. I did right a letter about a week after the mc and have put it in our memory box but I might think about copying it and doing what you suggested, there are a few rivers nearby. DH thinks we should try the lantern again so we?ll see. The problem is I live high up so its often windy?or too foggy, so something not weather dependent might be better.

lily sorry about your sad visit to the vet. I hope it goes ?ok?.

LILI glad you have an appointment to see GP. I am sure its none of those scary things you have googled but its better to be on the safe side. We?ve all been there ? I remember having a headache for a couple of days and a bump on my head ? convinced myself I had a brain tumour!! YES REALLY!! Had the consultant my mum works for look me over Blush Google can be the devil!

cep sorry about your bloody streak. Fx for you. When do you expect to get your results from the GP back?

Melies Sad for you spending vouchers that should have been for mat clothes but Smile that?s you get to buy yourself something nice?..make sure its something pretty! Smile

I had a tough day yesterday. I think the mc and now ttc is taking its toll on DH and I. He really trys hard to be there but he?s got over the loss now so much of what he says doesn?t help and he tends to forget things that I obsess about are important to me, which I find hard. He also thinks that everything I am obsessing abou doing to ttc is not good for me and thinks I should just relax, like I was when we were ttc before the mc. I just don?t think he understands that I can?t relax, I can?t go back to having that laissez-faire attitude. I really wish I could. I ended up getting all teary about it yesterday at work as we are normally really close and I feel like this is making us drift a bit as I can?t talk to him. It was also the first year anniversary of my granddads death yesterday. I knew it was coming but forgot until the evening, and then beat myself up about forgetting. So I?m of to the cemetery tonight.

sorry for the me me me end there!

meliesmummy · 22/02/2011 11:44

Well...my irrational side won and I bought tests...but only cheap boots ones, figured I don't need anything sensitive this time:(. I just did one, got a really faint positive so hopefully (?) by next week it'll be negative. I couldn't stop thinking about the last one I did, how different i feel now, it felt so wrong to want no line to appear. And going back to buying pregnacare conception was a low too :(. But I did get some nice tops! I just hope they don't fit for long.

collie I'm sorry you're having a bad day. I wrote my baby a letter, burned it and sprinkled the ashes in the soil around the shrub. Writing down all the things I wanted to say to him/her really helped me to say goodbye x

Collie2 · 22/02/2011 12:02

melies i felt exactly the same way when I got my post mc BFN. taking the testing hoping to get one but and being glad it was there, but then having that sad lonley single line staring back at me also reminded me of when we got our BFP and how diffent it all was then. Its very cruel. But i'm glad you got some nice tops. I'll Wine to them not fitting you for long! Smile

I'm not to bad today actually, yesterday was the pits. I wish i could plant a shrub, but we don;t really have a garden and i really do kill off all plants, which would be too upsetting. I think speading the ashes of your letter was nice.

Collie2 · 22/02/2011 13:00

Also who is user 334759 on FF? You friend requested me and i accepted but i've no idea who you are and can't see your chart or anything.

laylasmummy09 · 22/02/2011 13:27

hi ladies can i join? im 22, been with my fiancee almost 5 years and we have a beautiful 2 yr old dd, we decided last year to have another baby but i miscarried on my birthday in august at 11 weeks then again 3 weeks ago at 8weeks Sad we will be trying again but waiting for my AF fx it happens soon x

afternoon all,

lili glad the bleeding stopped. dr google can be the worst thing ever. In reg to your friend, i find it bizarre that during and after c/birth she had nothing better to do than update f/book. The fireman sam thing is that at the cinema??

mel it's not nice doing the -ve test. hope you're ok. and glad you found something nice to spend the vouchers on. i still have some of those. and what's rainbow fish

collie so sorry you had a bad day yesterday. i think cause men don't feel the nausea or any pregnancy symptoms it's quicker for them to get over things. mine didn't really feel anything he was upset for me but that was it. You need to explain that it's not that simple and by doing all this makes you feel in control again. Maybe he wants to be involved have you talked to him about it? Sorry about your grandad. I still like your idea of having a necklace. Is 334759 Blackkat?

laylas so sorry about your losses. And such bad timing as well. Welcome to the thread, they are a lovely group of ladies on here.

blackkat don't remember seeing you for a little while are you ok?

ok well nothing on st yet, although still some in cm (checking getting obsessive now). have felt a couple of dizzy spells today so naturally hopes have gone up again. Angry

hadrian · 22/02/2011 15:10

Hello all, am in the middle of a very long and boring meeting so thought I'd lurk at the back with my iPhone and catch up with you all.

Happy birthday chloe, glad you had a great time. 8.30 in the morning is pretty good going!

Sorry to hear you had a bad day collie. I totally agree that it's impossible to go back to being easygoing and relaxed about ttc. It's really sad but ttc for me now will always involve sadness and fear and anxiety as well as hopefully some joy some day! Hope you're feeling better today.

Welcome layla and so sorry for your losses. This is a good place to be under the circumstances.

I went to my niece's birthday party on Sunday...two hours of hanging out with screaming kiddies and happy parents including two friends about to give birth and another friend who told me she's 9 weeks pg. Had to escape home for a very stiff drink...
