This is the place to be for all those wanting to TTC after miscarriage, or have plans on TTC in the relatively near future. This thread is full of support from people who have been there and no how you are feeling so jump on board and share the Wine and chocolate (or water and celery for those of you off alcohol and caffeine Wink)

The thread moves fast so bob in and out as you please. Ask any questions that have been niggling you or that you are concerned about, perhaps someone here has experienced the same in the past.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread

This is the old thread ref:

melies suggestions for Vitamins are Evening primrose oil and grapefruit juice for cm, selenium and zinc for you and DH and fish oils for DH. I also have flaxseed for post ov. Don't forget folic acid too. Oh and DH also taking L-Carnitine for extra and extra mobile sperm.
see this link

Thanks everyone for asking after me. I didn't feelas bad as the night went on. Just a bit emotional after getting home. Don't think will do it again as was actually 2nd attempt Blush but think would like something to wear (like necklace) to remember baby by. DH said what like shoes...? Honestly I wonder sometimes! Better today, been to visit sil and new niece. Totally smittened. Not really too sad althought very much feel I desperately want one!

Hadrian sorry your post mc Af is shit. But hope your run was good! X

hope everyone else is ok x

Kayenn · 20/02/2011 00:29

Hello All, not sure if I'm in the right place. Attempting (after a long wait) to TTC no2 after 5 m/c. DD with previous partner is 16. I'm 34 and DH is 28. Problematic as DH now works abroad (previously worked away in this country). Tried everything, but can't seem to make any of them stick this time round. This seems like a lovely thread, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.

meliesmummy · 20/02/2011 09:06

collie thanks for that list...I see what you all mean about rattling! I think I'll wait for my af tho for the epo bcos I want to know exactly where I am first. I'm glad you're feeling a bit better, the jewellery idea sounds lovely x

kayenn welcome, it's awful you've been thru so many, I'm finding it hard to come to terms with one. Everyone has been lovely here tho, it helps to talk to talk to people who know what it's like

Tokyotwist · 20/02/2011 10:07

Hello Ladies, just catching up after a few days of being quiet (an absolute first for me) Smile.

Kayenn & Wild Welcome. So sorry for your losses. This is a lovely thread and I've found everyone very supportive and friendly.

AandR & Velvet Congratulations. Great news.

Mel How are you doing today?

Cep Sorry about your GP. Very insensitive of her (and lazy). And you shouldn't feel you're being OTT of bothering them. That is what they are there for. Although it would help if they remembered that sometimes.

Maybe That's awful. There is no excuse for them being abrupt even with your GPs mistake. I had a not so similar experience when I went in for my EPRC. Everyone was abs lovely, but while I was waiting to be wheeled in to theatre, the theatre nurse decided that would be the perfect time to congratulate the anesthetist on the birth of his son the night before. He kept trying to end the conversation, but she just carried on asking all sorts of questions about the new baby, while I lay there trying not to break down.

Collie A necklace sounds lovely. Something that will be close to you always will give you such comfort. Smile at your DH's suggestion of shoes.

Lili Smile at torturing yourself, but well done for making the baby basket. I'm sure it will be all the more appreciated.
I have this urge to walk round the baby stuff in shops. I've found myself in the middle of the baby aisle a couple of times admiring some cute outfit before I remember I can't buy anything Sad.

Got a question about the vitamins. Is there any reason why a multivitamin (pregnancy one) would not be as good as all the individual pills?

Off to get us some breakfast (10am) terrible mother that I am Smile.
Sorry if I missed anyone off, but big waves and hope everyone has a lovely week. We all deserve it.

Blackkat · 20/02/2011 11:16

Hello fellow rattlers! GrinGrin

Re the vits, both Zita and Marilyn suggest a multi vit for both partners that combines everything and bcs I think Marilyn is less bossy she says " I use fertility plus in the clinic as it contains all the right amounts of all the above (all we've discussed and more!)" DH should also take fertility plus for men. You can buy them atwww.naturalhealthpractice.com/Fertility_Products_C344.cfm if you can't get them locally.

PS I'm not working for her or for them!! Grin

Welcome Kayenn - sorry to hear about your losses Sad, hope this thread offers you a place for all the things listed in the title Grin

Blackkat · 20/02/2011 11:17

Oh and tokyo Angry about your theatre nurse, how insensitve Sad

cep · 20/02/2011 16:15

Kayenn welcome and so sorry for your loss. Would you like to be on the stats list? if so let me know what cd you are.

tokyo how insensitive of the nurse, you'd have thought she'd have realised really.

collie a necklace sounds lovely.

mel how did your dd's birthday go?

hello to everyone. am in the usual position of convincing myself will be a positive this month even though i don't think we dtd at the right time. Hmm

meliesmummy · 20/02/2011 17:38

That theatre nurse sounds like an insensitive cow! I hope the anaesthetist gave her a good talking to!

We've had a nice weekend...trying to be 'on' all the time for my dd has worn me out tho - I was trying to wean myself off the afternoon naps but couldn't get thru this afternoon without one, on the plus side we've just had some messy chocolaty fun making the cakes I had planned for my dh for valentines day, if things hadn't been so awful last weekend.

maybebabyR · 20/02/2011 18:05

Ah, Tokyo, that must have been horrible for you. Some people just don't think before they open their mouthsHmm

Still no sign of AF for me. Been having a really weird feeling in the very bottom of my tummy, like a hard prod every now and again.

It's amazing the things you make up notice when you are TTC Grin

Collie2 · 20/02/2011 22:00

Hi all. Hope everyone has had a nice weekend.

Welcome kayenn sorry for your losses it sounds like you've had a rough time.

Tokyo your theatre nurse sounds like a moron. Ypu think shed learn to think before she spoke in a job like that. I hope she realised, or was told, how insensitive she was. Also not sure re the pregnancy vits, I just take them individually to get a good dose off all if them.

I'm totally confused by my temp chart on ff. According to ff I'm on cd 13 and 4 day post ov. I'm highly sceptical this can be right. Driving me crazy. It's like being back on my WTF cycle wondering what's going on!'

olismum23 · 20/02/2011 23:00

Hi all hope you have all had a great weekend!

Sorry for the mememe post

I am confused Confused I m/c on the 7/8th of this month i stopped bleeding on the 13th and took a preg test that came back negitive.

I had sex that night and every other night until now last night when i was DTD my boobs were very sensitve sorry if TMI this onl happens to me when pregnant is there any possibility i am preg again so soon or am i going mad!!!

Collie2 · 21/02/2011 06:52

Melies sorry your having a hard time. I would say that if your bleeding only stopped a week ago then it sounds unlikely you would have ovulated and caught already. Having said that you are in your WTF cycle so i don't think anything can be ruled out. But your WTF cycle could also explain your sore boobs maybe. Sorry I can't help much more. I'd say wait until the end if the week and if your still sore take another test. X

LILI80 · 21/02/2011 07:14

Morning ladies

Just to update you - I've booked an appointment at my doctors for this Friday as I'm now having another period!

That's only 13 days since my last period so that's not right!

Also got a txt from my friend to say she's gone to hospital to give birth - I love my life!

Sorry haven't replied to any posts just going out of my mind with worry so scared something has gone wrong since the mc Sad

meliesmummy · 21/02/2011 07:41

Morning!

collie I think you have confused me and olismum - I'm still bleeding from the mc and can't be pg - certainly not in the mood for dtd! Wink
Good luck to you tho oils - altho could be that your hormones are all messed up but I hope you get the result you want.

LILI good luck at the drs x

cep · 21/02/2011 08:17

good morning all,
Hope you all had a great weekend.

collie sorry meant to say yesterday glad your visit went well. Also i'll have a quick look at your chart, was it you that was saying that you thought you were coming down with something?? (sorry can't remember) obviously that can mess with it, if you believe you're oving on another day , you can overide the ff chart. I did with mine cause it changed it after i got this cough/cold thing so i changed it back.

mel those chocolate cakes sounds lovely (all you have to say is chocolate) Grin

lili i'm sorry your bleeding again, i hope the dr can give you some good advice as to what's happening. And unfortunately life has bad timing and a bad sense of humour.

ninu i ut you in on cd 7 if that's where you think you are.

chloe are you ok? did you have a good weekend?

Hello to everyone else hope you're all ok.

cep · 21/02/2011 08:20

oli i knew there was someone else i wanted to respond to sorry. i suppose you could have stopped bleeding near your ov time, there are some who do get pg during the wtf cycle, but on the other hand it could just be your body getting over the mc still. best thing is just to wait and see, sorry can't be more help.

cep · 21/02/2011 08:36

collie had a look at the chart. my advice would be to not worry too much about it. what'll happen is, if you have more high temps later it can change it or you can. I know you've been checking cm use this to predict when ov coming. do you know if you normally ov'd about the same time each month? if you have anything that might have made you warmer such as a warm night, or in pj's etc it can obviously effect your temp. All i can advise it keep charting and see what happens. in mine i had a drop in temp yesterday morning wondered why, then realised this morning when back up slightly that had dh slept with dss in the spare room, i was on my own so was a bit cooler.

Collie2 · 21/02/2011 09:35

melies so sorry, very insensitive of me. I was still in bed half asleep when posted. oils my above reply to melies was for you x

LILI I am so s sorry that you are bleeding. Glad you are seeing gp though, I hope it's nothing to worry about. Let us know how it goes.

cep thanks for looming at my chart. Yes it was me that thought was coming down with something. DH has dreadful cold and I started to feel might gone down with it roughly when temps went up. Starting to drop now, I still don't feel 100% but not actually come out in a cold. Good point about the pg's I have a very hot set I sometines wear. Must remember it makes a difference if I do. I am going to assume ff is wrong as think it's def just a cold. Might just discard the temps. I'm also not great at telling the difference between creamy cm and watery, which could also be confusing ff.

How are you Cep I see your temp has gone back up as you said, but I suppose you are struggling to read it with yourcold yoo?! Your past your shortest cycle day I see. How do you feel? Like AF might me on it's way or like you have other symptoms? Fx xx

meliesmummy · 21/02/2011 09:57

collie don't worry about it, easy mistake to make and it didn't bother me at all, i just didn't want oli to miss her message x

cep · 21/02/2011 10:21

collie creamy feels like lotion when you rub your fingers (no dignity in ttc is there? Smile) watery in my opinion is like eggwhite but clear and not quite as strechy. and just looks wet, i think, can't remember now Blush

i keep thinking i have symptoms and laughing it off. then i read a page from another website (can't remember which) where pg ladies with recent bfp's were listing their symptoms by dpo. and i'm there thinking ooh this pain could be that. Grin it's so annoying cause each month seems different don't know what to expect. if i'm due on friday and following same pattern as last cycle then i should get some bloody cm, none so far

Blush i caved did cbdigital this morning bfn of course not fmu though (always with the excuses.) Grin

off swimming with ds this morning so speak to you all again later.

olismum23 · 21/02/2011 11:28

Thanks for the advice ladies I suppose its not called the WTF cycle for nothing if i am, i am sure i will find out sooner or later! Dtd night again tonight this TTC thing is tiring!

meliesmummy thanks for making sure i got my message

cep fx for you!

collie sorry the cold caught up with you although im not temping i have had it all week it must be very frustrating

Sorry to anyone i have missed hope you are well

Collie2 · 21/02/2011 13:36

cep thanks that cm descriptio helps I think. I can't remember what I had last week now but it's def creamy at the mo then.

sorry about your bfn but as you said you still have time. Your variable cycles sound like a pain as knowing what comes when is hard enough. I only really charted my cycle the month I got pg and month before so I am assuming that I have a regular pattern but can't be sure.

Hope you and ds enjoyed your swim.

cep · 21/02/2011 13:52

omg i just neartly choked on a quaver. i started coughing and as i was trying to spit the quaver out involuntarily inhaled and it got stuck in the top of my throat. it feels like the top of my throat is grazed now.
When i'd finally stopped coughing ds(2.5) said "careful mummy" Grin thanks ds.

collie glad it made sense. Grin until this cycle i'd never tested it before and wasn't even sure i was checking the right area.

i've started testing now and can't stop, just went and got fr tests, tried even further than fmu (although it says any time of day) and not suprisingly bfn. I really need to wait to see if af starts by friday. Should i start a poll as to how many tests people think i'll use between now and then. Grin

meliesmummy · 21/02/2011 14:12

cep all that quavers talk meant that I had to raid the cupboard for a packet, mmmm...

I'm in a quandary - to test or not to test? My bleeding has slowed to practically nothing (altho it's been so up and down I don't really trust it) so should I invest in some tests tomorrow (have to go to town to sort out the idiots lovely people at specsavers who sent me the wrong lenses) or is it too soon? I never thought I'd be praying for a bfn.

meliesmummy · 21/02/2011 14:15

Sorry cep meant to say sorry you got a bfn but so did I the mon before my af the month I caught, I was due on on the fri and got a bfp on the thurs (also fr) so there's still hope!
