This is the place to be for all those wanting to TTC after miscarriage, or have plans on TTC in the relatively near future. This thread is full of support from people who have been there and no how you are feeling so jump on board and share the Wine and chocolate (or water and celery for those of you off alcohol and caffeine Wink)

The thread moves fast so bob in and out as you please. Ask any questions that have been niggling you or that you are concerned about, perhaps someone here has experienced the same in the past.

If you want to join the stats, just add yourself to the list:

WTTC = waiting to TTC
UCL = usual cycle length

Good luck to all - here's hoping for lots of healthy, sticky BFPs by the end of the thread

This is the old thread ref:

evening all,

collie thanks for that link i hadn't seen that one before. As i said she did know, she'd just forgotten. Hmm

maybe that's awful, what a horrible exerience. Were you there on your own then? oh you poor thing.

I'm not to bad now have calmed down a bit. we had a chinese takeaway as i was in the mood for bad food. no Shock there, and i actually don't fancy any wine. I was all for pouring some earlier but lost the urge now. So not like me. I'm going to have a read in the bath and an early night, i am absolutely knackered again. Went to sleep about 9:30 last night and although ds woke us up at 5:30 again, i should be used to that by now, but i'm just drained.

Anyway thanks everyone for your support today, has been a very strange day. Hope you all have a fab evening. Goodnight all.

Collie2 · 18/02/2011 20:17

Hi all. Just back from going out to set off chinese lantern in memory of our little angle. Tied a copy of the scan to it. But it went dreadfully. It's windy but we thought we'd managed to find a sheltered area near a canal close to home. But the wind just pick it up and tossed it around into some trees. I just cried. I know it's totally stupid and irrational but I just stood there watching the flame die out thinking about my baby and how I can't get anything right. It was just a terrible ending. So I still don't feel like I've said bye. I just feel rotten. God, I know I'm just being an emotional moron. I just needed to tell someone. Poor DH feels awful as he let it go, so trying not to show I'm upset. Right, I'm off to stuff my face with something bad for me!

Sorry for me me me post. Xx

hadrian · 18/02/2011 20:26

Hello ladies I am back from holiday and back in action! Feeling a bit nervous about getting back to reality and starting the TTC agony all over again but trying to keep positive. Although I was so busy catching up on the thread when we landed that I left my v expensive duty free moisturiser on the plane...not a good start! Wink

It will take me ages to catch up but from what I can gather massive hugs and congrats are due to aandr and velvet - what wonderful news! :o :o Hope you're both doing OK.

Hi to all the new people who I don't know yet...looking forward to catching up with you all in the next few days.

LILI80 · 18/02/2011 20:36

Hi All

AandR and Velvet big congratulations!! Fx for the rest of us.

cep big hugs and thanks for the link you sent earlier.

Oh Collie sweetheart you're not being an emotional moron. It was really important to you so that's why you got upset when it didn't go as you had hoped. Of course you can get things right. I think that's a beautiful way to say goodbye, could you maybe try again when the weather is a bit better?

Not much to report on me except feeling a bit more up for it Wink ov starting perhaps?

Also, I'm in the process of putting together a baby basket for my friend whose due in August (yes I like to torture myself too!)and I ordered a really cute babygro and cardigan - well it arrived yesterday and I literally picked up the babygro and hugged it to me! I said to my DH 'ah look at this, it's so cute' and then I had this mad 'i want another baby now' feeling come over me!

ho hum just have to keep at it - just wish my cycle wasn't 34 days! Feels like forever

and everyone else

meliesmummy · 18/02/2011 20:56

collie that's so sad that it didn't go as you planned it but you can't blame yourself for the weather, it was a nice idea though x

hadrian · 18/02/2011 21:34

Sorry for xposts collie - hope you've found some chocolate to help you feel better. At least you and DH had some moments together even if it didn't go quite according to plan x

Blackkat · 18/02/2011 21:44

Oh Collie ((( big hugs ))). Of course you can get things right. You were doing a lovely thing and it's upsetting when it doesn't go just as you planned. Sad You're not being an emotional moron, just a caring woman coming to terms with losing something you wanted very much. v.Sad You are bound to be upset sometimes. I am feeling for you and your DH this evening. XX

cep hope you're early night does the trick

Hadrian glad you had a great time, bummer about the moisturiser [frustrated emoticon]

AandRMum · 19/02/2011 09:31

Just been reminded on another thread that I have been slack in reporting on our SMEG experiment. For those of you who are new we are doing an extremely scientific study to verify or otherwise the claims on the SMEP website Sperm meets egg plan which claim a 40% success rate first time! If you would like to join the experiment give me a shout and I'll add you to the list - just remember to tell me if you fall off the wagon (best laid plans and all that!)

Loola are you a SMEGger?

SMEGers

  1. AandRMum - BFP
  2. Zamster - FOW (Fell off wagon!)
  3. MummyA - FOW
  4. Izzy - BFN Sad
  5. YRMOTB - pending!
  6. Velvet - BFP
  7. Collie - pending
  8. Knitter - (didn't get a chance to start SMEP as got a BFP!)
  9. Chloe55- pending
10. Hadrian - Did you SMEG on last cycle or planning to on this one? 11. Lili80 - pending
lily06 · 19/02/2011 09:57

Can I be added too? Started SMEG plan this cycle. Smile

loola2shus · 19/02/2011 11:14

A&R I smegged at what I thought was the right time but then FF gave me crosshairs too early..so hadn't done the everyday for 3 days in time.... but then FF have now removed crosshairs so it looks like I didn't ov anyway Sad

So in a nutshell I think that makes me a FOW!

I think Velvet smegged too but not with OV sticks! Does that make her a part-time smegger?! Grin and it ups the success rate Wink

As it happens I feel very very PMT today so if AF turns up tomorrow I will do it this month! (depending if it means AF/BFP (ever hopeful!!)turns up in time for Op)

banana87 · 19/02/2011 11:38

HI all.

Collie big hugs to you.

Hope you get a BFP loola

Hope everyone is ok! Still spotting here but its the end I think. I've given up tea and wine and working on giving up chocolate!!

hadrian · 19/02/2011 12:35

Hi AandR I am going to start SMEGing this cycle. DH is totally up for it, long may that last Wink

Sorry AF got you Izzy. I'm having a really heavy and miserable first period post MC. Thought getting my period would make me feel better but it's just reminding me of everything I've lost.

Am going for a run to see if that makes me feel better. Also need to work off two weeks of holiday food and far too much beer...

Hils74 · 19/02/2011 12:49

Morning all, congrats AandR and Velvet!

Hope you are all having a good weekend, cep, collie, and forget the horrible week we've all had.

I told two of my close friends last night about the mc, they are blokes and thought they might be slightly sympathetic, I was wrong...

Me "I'm cutting down on the Wine as I had a mc just over two weeks ago"

Them "Excellent, does that mean you'll be driving??"

I think it was more the alcohol and being blokes they didn't quite know what to say :)

olismum23 · 19/02/2011 13:57

I am Smeging AandRmum

artifarti · 19/02/2011 14:12

Meliesmummy ? hope you are feeling a bit better today ? and happy birthday to your DD! I would have been having my 12 week scan this coming Wednesday and am already feeling weepy about it, even though I?ve been feeling okay-ish for a couple of weeks. One of my best mates is in labour today too - really pleased for her but I always thought I?d be pregnant when she had the baby...and I?m obviously not (despite what the flippin tests keep telling me). I wish I was like DP who can never remember a single date at the best of times!

Cep ? glad the doc finally got back to you even though she was a bit rubbish. Hope you get the ab?s and they work their magic soon. (You have my sympathy for the 5.30am starts, my DS is currently okay (touches wood) but we have had many many months of those in the last 2.5 years! They are a killer after a while. I came to despise that Granny Murray crap that CBeebies shows at that time.)

Velvet ? congratulations!

Blackkat ? hehehe at Baldrick coffee! I have a few colleagues I?m often tempted to give a cup of that to...

Collie ? so sorry it didn?t go well with the lanterns. Certainly not an emotional moron, I can totally understand how you would feel so upset but what a lovely thing to do.

Banana ? good luck on giving up the chocolate! I have also (mostly) managed booze and tea but choc defeats me every time!

Hadrian ? sorry to hear your AF is a misery and reminding you but hopefully it means that everything is in full working order again and now you are all relaxed from a holiday... Wink

Hils ? men are never great at this stuff, are they?! Although my A1 stupidest comment has been from a woman with two kids, so you never can tell.

Hello to everyone else! Hope you?re having a nice weekend.

meliesmummy · 19/02/2011 14:15

Good afternoon everyone!

Just a few quick questions...

Did any of you have medically managed mcs and if so how long did you bleed afterwards? I've had different answers from my gp/ the dr/ nurses I've seen...its a week tomorrow since I had the drugs and it's stopping and starting...I get to thinking oh, it's really slowing down or stopped then I have more fresh-ish stuff with small clots. Plus is it normal for the cramps to still come and go? I've got a scan on the 28th and I can bring that forward to mon if I want but I'd rather give my body a chance to clear it up itself than be sent to theatre.

And on a different subject, any advice on epo would be appreciated...should I start on it soon or wait till my period? Im still taking my preg vits (sainsburys ones, then I'd stocked up on Sanatogen bcos they were on offer) and my oh is back on the vit c and reproductive health multi vits, anything else we can do? (I'm also cutting down on the diet coke, it's all I drink with caffeine in it and not sure how I'll survive night shifts without it but I want to try my best)

Hope you are all having a nice sat, I'm having a few mins peace whilst my v excited dd has a nap

Blackkat · 19/02/2011 15:06

Thanks for the update Prof. A&R, Izzy total bastards about AF, Sad

melies sorry I can't help re med m/c sure someone else will.

Happy Birthday chloe and collie* cep hope you are having better days

LILI80 · 19/02/2011 16:15

cep found it very useful! I would say i've now moved on to the sticky stage!

Although today I went to the toilet to find a brownish/redblob [sorry] in my knickers and when i wiped I got some red/pinkish blood! i'm now getting some cramping but nothing too bad.

Has anyone else had this at all? I've never had this before so just wondering if it's got something to do with the D&C and my body is still settling down?

will try and catch up properly later - got DD on my knee at the mo and i'm finding it difficult to type!

Ninunina · 19/02/2011 18:19

AandR I would like to try the SMEG plan I'm very impressed with its success rate so far :) I can't follow it to the letter since I'm still on the WTF cycle. I think I'll work it out from the day I stoped bleeding meaning I'm probably on CD5.

AandRMum · 19/02/2011 19:00

SMEGers

  1. AandRMum - BFP
  2. Zamster - FOW (Fell off wagon!)
  3. MummyA - FOW (but still high scorer on ff for SWI Grin)
  4. Izzy - BFN Sad
  5. YRMOTB - pending!
  6. Velvet - BFP
  7. Collie - pending
  8. Knitter - (didn't get a chance to start SMEP as got a BFP!)
  9. Chloe55- pending
10. Hadrian - pending 11. Lili80 - pending 12. Loola - FOW (due to confused signage) 13. Lilly06 - pending 14.Ninunina - pending 15. Olismum - pending

Shout if I have missed anyone! Don't worry too much about following to the letter of the law i.e. I wasn't using OPKs etc.
