The (updated)(again)(again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you've had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). (But it does work).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.
OV is ovulation - I'm allowed to forget what date I've OVd, feel free to join me on that one!

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Oh shit babylann, i'm sorry.

PenguinPoo4 · 03/03/2011 19:52

Oh dear Babylann. Just use the posh stick tomorrow (you've paid for it now so wont be saving any money by not using it!), and make sure you get to poundland ASAP so you dont have to buy any more expensive ones - assuming you need any more that is.
If it's not your month this month, it will be soon. You know you and your DP can have babies, and number 2 will come when he/she is ready - number 2 is just an obstinate little so and so already and you may not have even made him/her yet!

brooke89 · 03/03/2011 21:26

hello, hope you all dont mind if i join this thread?? im new to all of this so have no idea about any of the science (hoping you can all help) but do understand the just shagging part haha...so this thread caught my eye :) ive just had a miscarriage but am looking for a bfp soon!! :) xx

PenguinPoo4 · 03/03/2011 22:13

Hi Brooke ! I'm new too and dont know the science either. But dont worry, this thread is more about relaxing and trying not to obsess too much. Not sure how many people are managing the not obsessing part but it's worth a try!

JosieSmith1 · 04/03/2011 08:02

Dee that's fab! Don't worry about MiL, it's your life not hers, she can shove it where the sun don't shine Grin

Sorry Babylann but hope it's just too early

Penguin I didn't have a hold of the baby, I was shaking so much I couldn't if I wanted to. I had another slight panic attack so took my leave pretty quick. I was quite rude actually and didn't even look at it but I was feeling so ill I would have either cried or passed out! I spoke to mam last night who actually lost a baby 4 days after it was born and it gave me some perspective. And although mam says she's a breeding machine Grin after she lost the baby she was sterilised and couldn't try again for three months, then it took her a year to get pg with my bro. We joked that it probably didn't take long with me as I'm very very impatient Grin

Slightly brighter today, might be because it's friday, who knows.

Hi Brooke (waves). Sorry to hear about your mc, hope you are ok. And fingers crossed for your BFP soon

babylann · 04/03/2011 09:05

No worries, dee. It's obviously not my month.

And thanks Penguin. I think I'm going to take your advice and POAS now. Thought I would say that as I'll probably be too pre-occupied with DD to come upstairs again for another couple of hours until nap time, unless I get a BFP, then I'll have to bring her upstairs with me so I can share the good news!

Welcome brooke.

babylann · 04/03/2011 09:07

(I think my responses to dee and Penguin there seem a bit contradictory to each other, but I didn't mean to - I think I'm definitely not pregnant this month Sad)

babylann · 04/03/2011 09:32

DD went for a nap. As suspected, another BFN. Actually, my "pink calendar" says I've already gone past ovulation of my second month. Oh well.

Luckily I've had some pretty good news this morning - DP is getting a payrise Smile so that's offered me a bit of a distraction.

I think I give up taking tests this "month". I think I'll have some Wine tonight and try not to think about it again until after ERTD finally shows itself.

JosieSmith1 · 04/03/2011 09:48

Hope you're feeling better soon Babylann, definitely have some Wine. Good news about your DHs payrise, maybe you can celebrate that, take your mind off things

BamBam21 · 04/03/2011 09:54

Babylann I'm sorry about the BFNs. I think you definitely should have some Wine tonight and just relax. Great news about your DP's pay rise though!Smile

Welcome brooke. So sorry about your MC, but this is such a lovely, friendly thread to start TTC again. (passes some virtual Brew and Biscuit)

nickelbabe · 04/03/2011 11:19

definitely Wine babylann.

JosieSmith1 · 04/03/2011 14:30

Thanks Nickel Grin

I've had quite a morning today! Got pulled into the office by my senior again who asked if I was ok again obviously because of yesterday's debacle. Then she said that the service I work for offer free counselling, did I want to go Shock. Needless to say I'm very Blush. But I had a bit of a chat and a cry, then had a quiet word with pg colleague, had another chat and a cry, and a hug, then spoke to team manager who's daughter was in with her baby yesterday, and had another hug and a cry. I'm actually feeling a lot better! I feel stronger now that people know just how upset I've been and I even asked pg colleague if she'd got her DH round to the idea of the baby name she likes, so I'm definitely on the mend.

So, I'm not out yet! I'm going to keep fighting as that's who I am, not this snivelling jealous wreck I've turned into recently.

All herald the return of the Josie GrinGrin

BamBam21 · 04/03/2011 14:42

Yay josie! We've all been there with the madness. Glad you're on the mend.Smile

nickelbabe · 04/03/2011 14:42

I would have accepted the counselling - it's free after all!
I'm glad you were able to talk to them about it though, it really is true that a trouble shared is a trouble halved.

babylann · 04/03/2011 15:48

Glad you are feeling better Josie. Seems like you've been through it a bit in the last couple of weeks! Hopefully you're right, and this is the return of a happier, more optimistic Josie. It's good to see you tackled your problem head on as well, instead of letting it get you more and more down.

LizzyMathsWhizzy · 04/03/2011 18:43

Welcome Brooke Smile I just had a miscarriage as well, so I know how you feel, this thread is wonderful, I don't know where I'd have been without the support I've got from the lovely viroids! (Thats girlies on predictive text before you ask!)

TMI ALERT
I went for my yucky smear today, and the nurse seemed quite worried because I started bleeding when she used her ahem toothbrush thingy on my Blush cervix. She said the results would probably be invalid so I would need another smear in two or three months if I'm not pregnant. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush
[runs to hide in a cupboard from embarassment emoticon]

I am such a prude!

brooke89 · 04/03/2011 19:02

haha, so glad you told me what viroids meant! i googled it and it came up about plants cells so i was a bit confused!

thank you to everyones welcomes :) i went back up the epu today and the mw who i saw before got my results messed up....turns out my levels are going down :) so thats good news for me :) all i need to do now is work out when il be ovulating :s it confuses me a bit tbh!

hope everyones having a good friday night xx

LizzyMathsWhizzy · 04/03/2011 19:07

Ooh, breaking the rules by talking about ovulation already! We all pretend to avoid thinking about the details, we supposedly just shag at every opportunity and hope for the best. I don't really think anybody does that, I certainly don't!

brooke89 · 04/03/2011 21:23

Oops sorry didn't mean to be a rule breaker lol maybe I'll give that a miss then and just follow the rules and shag at every given opportunity xx

JosieSmith1 · 04/03/2011 22:38

Well if I'm not p this cycle I'm gonna shag like a damn rabbit Grin

Have 2 admit, ERTD hasn't arrived and furkling Blush hasn't shown any signs. Gettin some crampin tho. Can't really decide but not gettin my hopes up

JosieSmith1 · 04/03/2011 22:39

That shud have course been if I'm not pg this month!

nickelbabe · 05/03/2011 10:45

Lizzy - don't worry about it, I've had smears like that where they have to do it again.

Can't belive you're on a TTC thread and you think the words cervix and toothbrush thingy and smear are tmi words! Grin
bless you!

babylann · 05/03/2011 11:46

I've never had a smear before. Are they painful? Am I supposed to start having them now because I've had a baby - or do I still need to wait til whatever age it is they start doing them (is it 25?)?

sunshineseeker · 05/03/2011 12:05

I am a newbie here and was drawn in by the title of this thread... still trying to figure out what it's about, I even googled 'viroid':

"An infectious particle, similar to but smaller than a virus, that consists solely of a strand of RNA and is capable of causing disease in plants"

Not sure this applies to me Hmm but I enjoyed the humour and warmth of this thread! I feel excited to join the ranks of 'shaggaholics' and BFP graduates!

I have been on a long and bumpy journey to get pregnant, currently on clomid, I have become insane and obsessive/obsessed.

On a daily basis I lament all the lovely things I have cut out of my life in a bid to up my fertility, right now I am holding on to coffee for dear life, I feel if I cut out the last remaining 'bad' thing from my life I will become invisible and boring.

So pleased to find this thread... Grin
