The (updated)(again)(again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you've had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). (But it does work).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.
OV is ovulation - I'm allowed to forget what date I've OVd, feel free to join me on that one!

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Nelly, I've taken a couple of cocodamol in the last few days - eek! I didn't think of it possibly causing any problems in that regard. I didn't think of anything apart from "ouchy bad headache eee cocodamol, quick!" I always think cocodamol must be pretty safe as they give it to you when you're pregnant - I know they gave it to me when I was in labour Hmm ...because that helped!

It's mine and DP's anniversary and he's downstairs watching the Arsenal match so I'm here on mumsnet. Who said romance was dead?

BamBam21 · 16/02/2011 21:04

I'm so sorry lizzy. Can't imagine how you are feeling. Always here if you need to vent.

brightcopperkettles · 16/02/2011 22:02

I'm so sorry Lizzy, hope you have lots of RL support as well :(.

Baby2b · 16/02/2011 22:29

Hey, thanks for remembering me on the list. I'm a little superstitious about it Blush

13 weeks now and puking like a good one. Good to see lots of newbies on here!

Lizzy I have had a similar experience but didn't need op. Message me if you need to talk. Also be prepared for people to say, well at least u know you can get pregnant, and other stupid but well meant comments. Hope you are now getting lots of tlc.

Katyrah · 17/02/2011 00:01

Hi virorids! Not posted for a while but been lurking :-)

Lizzy im so sorry to hear your news,I hope you're ok and getting lots of tlc

Been in hospital because of my stupid colitis again last week, back on all my steroids and that so I've pretty much given up any hope of shagging actually resulting in a pregnancy because with the amount of medication I'm on foR the next couPle of months!Ah well, good job shaggings still fun!

Hope everyone else is good!!

nickelbabe · 17/02/2011 12:59

oh Lizzy i'm so sorry :(

Please take care of yourself now - don't let anyone tell you that it was too early to be upset or anything like that. take care of yourself and spend some time with your DH.
apparently, about 1 in 1000 pregnancies are ecptopic, so you're not alone.

LizzyMathsWhizzy · 17/02/2011 13:15

Thanks everyone for the Brew and sympathy. I changed my mind about staying away, especially having a couple of days home alone off work I need to have somewhere with support.

I'm feeling a lot calmer today, this one obviously just wasn't meant to be, and it shouldn't happen again. The doctor tells me there are positives, at least we can get pregnant, so we shouldn't have to wait all that long. My doctor was so supportive, I was actually surprised. I hope the next time I see him is with better news.

x

babylann · 17/02/2011 16:36

Glad you are feeling calmer, Lizzy. You're very strong. It's always beneficial to have a good, supportive doctor, as they can be so insensitive sometimes.

I'm allowed to POAS again tomorrow, but I don't know if it'll be worth it. Getting some very familiar feelings in my tummy today... Sad

BamBam21 · 17/02/2011 17:07

I'm glad you feel a bit better lizzy. Just take things easy and look after yourself, and hopefully soon you will have better news.

Fingers crossed for you babylann. Hope ERTD doesn't sneak up on you.

deemented · 17/02/2011 18:48

Ah Lizzy - i'm sorry, my lovely. Life is so bloody unfair at times.

Hello to the newbs Smile

Sorry i've been AWOL of late. Coping with manshapes ma has really taken it out of me. I don't know... i wonder sometimes does she think i'm an unfit mother to the children i already have, maybe thats why she doesn't want me to have more Sad

MrsDollFace · 17/02/2011 19:43

Aw Dee don't think that. She's just an interfering witch ! Sod her

babylann · 17/02/2011 20:21

Even if she DOES think you're an unfit mother (which I'm sure you're not of course! Grin), it's none of her business, deemented.

I spend too much time worrying about what people think of my parenting skills and not enough time praising myself for how amazing my DD is and how it's mostly down to me Smile

PenguinPoo4 · 18/02/2011 00:00

Hi! Newbie here! I've only been on 1 thread before, one I started about pregnancy do's n dont's. Me and DP have decided to TTC very recently and I'm v v excited! Definately want to try and remain relaxed though, going to keep on drinking eating etc all the same whilst TTC, cos lets face it, it could be ages before I'm up the duff and I know if I put my life on hold I'll get obsessed!
Have read through the last few pages of this thread and I just wanted to say - Lizzie I'm very sorry for your loss. And Deemented you MIl sounds awful, best of luck ignoring her poison.
PS I dont understand all the acronyms - whats a BFP?!!!

brightcopperkettles · 18/02/2011 04:05

Welcome Penguin :). BFP = Big Fat Positive.

nickelbabe · 18/02/2011 10:23

hello Penguin -welcome!

don't worry, you'll pick them up as we go along.

anything you don't get, just shout! Grin

BamBam21 · 18/02/2011 11:16

Hi penguin. Welcome to the thread.

Dee, don't let the poisonous old witch get to you. I used to get the same from my ex-MIL, so I know it's upsetting. But if ever there was anyone who should have kept their opinions to themselves, she was it! Grin You love your DCs and they love you. Everything else pales into insignificance beside that. Smile

LizzyMathsWhizzy · 18/02/2011 14:11

MILs can be a total pain, you have my sympathy, Dee . Mine lives in Orkney, so I actually feel sorry for her, she's so far out of our lives. It can be hard work when we see her, but she means well, and would love some grandchildren! Just ignore her, your kids are your evidence of mothering ability, so of they're fine I wouldn't worry about what she thinks.

deemented · 18/02/2011 14:50

Thanks folks Smile

Hows everyone doing?

I haven't got a clue when i ovulated, am presuming around the 14th, if everythings back on track, so i guess i'd be POAS about the 28th or so. But i know me, i won't last that long. I have £ shop cheapies, so will test before then. Probably.

babylann · 18/02/2011 15:35

Mmm think I might get some of the cheapies. POASs can be a very expensive habit otherwise!

DP forgot to pick one up for me on the way home from his work, so guess I'll be testing again tomorrow. Which is okay as we're going out for a romantic meal tonight and I'd like a couple of guilt-free glasses of wine! Wine Happy Friday to you all.

nickelbabe · 18/02/2011 16:01

I haven't had any symptoms, so, yet again, i've no idea where i am on my cycle.
Confused

PenguinPoo4 · 18/02/2011 16:17

Happy Friday! I only came off the pill 9 days ago so we are only just entering the stage where our shags could actually make me pregnant. If I ovulate 14 days after my period started then thats not for another week when I am going on a weekend away which will pretty much revolve around drinking, I suppose I should try and take it easy on the plonk, we'll see if I can restrain myself a bit :)
Good luck testing babylann and I hope your meal is lovely!
Whats POAS?

nickelbabe · 18/02/2011 16:19

POAS is piss on a stick - do a pregnancy thread. and PIAR is piss in a ramekin, because it's easier than POAS. Grin

it could be a while for your cycle to get back to normal, so don't worry! :)

nickelbabe · 18/02/2011 16:19

oh, and we encourage normal drinking here! Grin

PenguinPoo4 · 18/02/2011 16:32

normal drinking? Yay! I want to cut out binge drinking anyway, thats something that I wanted to do before we even decided to try, as I have more fun when I'm a bit pissed than i do when steaming drunk and rambling Grin
I am kind of assuming that it'll take a while to get pregnant, not really worried if it takes a few months - not that I'll be saying that if still trying 10 months from now!
Pissing in a ramekin Shock well, to be honest i never use the bloody things for anything anyway!

nickelbabe · 18/02/2011 16:35

a glass of wine or a beer a night's fine.

Grin we're classy, you see! Grin
