Jump on if you are a TTCer hoping that this cycle is 'the one' and will result in a sprog or sprogette due in November.

Welcoming season ticket holders and new passengers.

Hi guys! Welcome newbies!

Well I am pretty sure I ov'd yesterday but DH and I were so tired that we decided not to. I felt it would just be a horrid mechanical thing. So I am hoping that the day before and this morning is enough. Am on the pineapple juice and off the epo just in case Hmm

hope everyone else is ok! :)

MumTumWanted · 10/02/2011 20:47

hi to collie imps cep lil80 think perhaps i have noticed you on similar threads to those which i have been lurking ! I like this one though it keeps you sane... though i have to admit to being also on the questionable TTC thread ! having been guilty of many of them...

Have to say id no idea about the CM thing !!! i shall be checking once AF has finished. could someone tell me the differences again i know ive read it on here somewhere i just cant recall where....

sillybillymummy · 10/02/2011 21:39

Hey ladies,
Wish i could report back to the bus, that i have been off busy SWI-ing.. but instead, we seem to have a human contraceptive, in our bed! My DS will not sleep in his room (we are having some building work done.. so forgiveable). But my Dh will not do it, with him in the room - i moved his mattress in our room now.
We have done it a couple of times, so heres hoping... but feeling really negative about it all. As some months, weve done it every night, and still got no where.

Weimy - i know what you mean about mechanical. We hate it, when we feel under pressue to SWI on given days.

Collie2 · 10/02/2011 21:44

these november bfp's are ours ladies! The SMEG plan is going to be our ticket to the freek out room!! Grin

mumtum I've copied yrmotb's cm explanation from the ttc after mc thread.
Mucus charting is only measuring your mucus:
Dry=just after period,
Creamy
Wet=slippery
Eggwhite=stretchy and clear.

Dry and sticky= not fertile(probably)
Wet or EW= possibly fertile, with EW being most fertile.

Thinking11 · 10/02/2011 22:13

Hi just adding to the question of telling people you are TTC. Only my elder sister and best friend know that im TTC. My parents know that I want children and I'm looking into my options but apart from that noone knows.

If and when I get my long awaited BBP I expect to get some very shocked responses as I am single and using donor sperm.

I am due to try for my second cycle this month.

TTC#1 Cycle 2 CD4 USL 25 OD 15

Hope I've got this right

goingmadtrying · 11/02/2011 06:18

sillybillymum I don't believe you need to do it lots based on my experiences! With ds1 I was only on holiday 2 weeks on my own and concieved the day I got back, with ds2 we were on holiday but had said ds1 with us so again didn't do much cause we shared a room and beds next to each other!!!!

bornofdust · 11/02/2011 08:58

Morning everyone.

So, we've 'decided' we're ready to TTC #1. Don't want to share this news with close friends and family as I don't want to tempt fate, so I thought the talkboards would be a healthy way of sharing some feelings and possibly getting some advice. It all feels quite exciting at the moment, but I suspect it could all become quite scary and stressful very quickly.

I'm new to Mumsnet and the wonders of the talkboards, so please bear with me while I learn all the acronyms and the secrets!

bornofdust: TTC #1, cycle 2, CD 18, UCL 28, AF due 22 February (though having some funny episodes this week)

ghosteditor · 11/02/2011 09:37

morning! welcome to thinking and bornofdust, you're in the right place!

I'm definitely not planning on announcing that I'm TTC, and I don't think I'll want to tell people for a while once it happens. It's just, well, not really anyone else's business. I can't really tell whether my parents and in-laws are expecting news, but OH and I have been together for almost seven years, and we got married last year after a 6 month engagement so I think they were almost expecting a shotgun wedding Grin. When that failed to materialise I think they relaxed a bit. My parents have only just turned 50 so I think they consider themselves a bit young, but my gran was 43 when I was born so they should count themselves lucky!

Both sets of parents live 200+ miles away and OH travels a lot for work, so we won't have any help once we have a bub.

I'm on cycle day 22 I think, now, and my last cycle was 25 days (21 before that!) so I'm thinking I may crack open my very first test on Monday if AF doesn't arrive, but that's definitely a bit early, especially if AF has now reverted to usual 28 day form.

MumTumWanted · 11/02/2011 09:38

Hi newbies welcome aboard, bornofdust congrats on the 'deciding' and welcome to the madness! youll soon pick upthe posting thing, ive only been posting for a few weeks, but things are becoming clearer and if you dont know just ask cos all the ladies are lovely,

collie thanks for the info on the mcharting, have to say im a little sqeamish with that stuff (ridiculous i know) but in the name of conception i will start charting once AF has decided to go ( think this is soon as already starting to trail off and only on day 3 really short for me usually a 5 dayer... ).

Didnt do the temp thing last time either so i am going to give that a try to, was so lucky last time concieved after 1st cycle :)but as said before ended not so well over xmas with a mc at 7 weeksSad, so hoping to be lucky again with conceiving ( though with all manor of scary thoughts and will be worried sick till week 12 ! and no doubt in the freek out room !Grin)

lots of luck to all you SWI over the weekend and lets hope valentines day offers some BFPs for us all soon....

MumTumWanted · 11/02/2011 09:46

oh just to add , that after the mc we have said to people about taking our time in TTC again, didnt want that added pressure of those expectant faces and questions from close friends waiting for another announcement..... and especially if we are lucky enough to get BFP soon i will defo be waiting til the 12 week scan before telling anyone, so i agree with you thinking and born of dust

my mum bless her was only 41 when i made her a nanny for the first time [hmmm]( i was 21), my DD is now 11 so i will have a huge gap if im lucky enough to have another...but i promise no matter what their age grandparents will always love it when it happens !Smile

Collie2 · 11/02/2011 14:29

Hi everyone. B4 mc in Dec apart from 2 really close friends noone knew we were thinking of trying for DC, and even then we just said we 'weren't being careful'..when infact i was already poas. But most of my close friends and family know about the mc so i expect they expect we will be ttc soon....although i don't intend to confirm.

I work in the NHS for a primary care trust and in 2 years time my organisation will be abolished and the reorganisation is already happening. I had a mtg with my boss this week to talk about where i want to go, what concerns i had etc. She knows about the mc so it was very odd talking openly about the prospect of ttc and the impact it might have......not the knid of conversation i'd had ever expected!

OutIntoTheBlue · 11/02/2011 14:45

Hello

Finally got my bus pass out of my pocket after a good old sulk last month. So hope there's room for me on this bus!

OutIntoTheBlue TTC#2 Cycle 5 UCL 28 days AF due 25 Feb

Only just looked at this thread so going to read back through now.

Its CD15 for me, DH has been away with work all week Angry so tonight's the night for DTD and making up for lost time Grin . OPKs have had a faint line the past couple of days so I am hoping we haven't missed the peak, and are still in with a chance on this bus.

MumTumWanted · 11/02/2011 15:21

Sorry for the bad month last month but good luck outoftheblue welcome to the bus they are lovely ladies on here..

collie It seems to weird for me yet to talk openly about TTC other than with OH, i think thats why these threads are so helpful you can be honest and open without fear of any retribution or face to face expectation !

Iggly · 11/02/2011 21:11

Hi passengers, I've been off the thread for a while and come back and there are loads of us Grin

I gave up on the SME plan - have managed to SWI every four days - not enough. I don't even know when I could have ovulated as no sign of EWCM Confused given that I'm about Cd20, I have no clue what is going on. I blame the MC for messing me up.

We're not telling anyone we're ttc #2. Most people know about the mc so don't expect us to try anytime soon which gives us a breather. Plus I'm really enjoying DS now - I'm preparing myself for disappointment at the end of the TWW.

BlueCrane · 11/02/2011 22:14

ah Iggly sorry you've had such a tough time! We're struggling to fit in enough SWI as well...just so difficult in the midst of crazy busy lives and trying to avoid the'mechanical' SWI someone else referred to the other day!! Also finding it v difficult to spot EWCM as first month of paying proper attention to CM.

Wishing everyone a great friday night and a good weekend ahead! Wine Smile

cep · 12/02/2011 09:45

morning all,

welcome newbies. sorry for those who are having a hard time at the moment.

I noticed a few comments about ewcm, those testing according to ff you need to use two fingers and i've found this month it really worked, i was only using 1 finger last month. 2 fingers up feel around cervix if possible gently squeeze cervix when bring fingers out open and see if stretchs.

Also the old grapefruit juice seems to work and pink is slightly better than normal grapefruit.

Not sure if i've ov'd or not, had 2 peak temps then 1 lower now up again so not sure. (i did have Wine last night though.) last dtd this morning so now i guess i'm on the 2ww again, not to positive as don't think dtd at the right time but we'll see.

Hope everyone is having fun.

bornofdust · 12/02/2011 10:05

Grapefruit juice?? I'm a bit scared to ask, but curiosity is getting the better of me...

BlueCrane · 12/02/2011 12:12

ok...having 'one of those days' and need to have a little rant...sorry everyone!! DH out all day on a training course and I'm at home supposed to be studying and having new hob and oven delivered and fitted Smile...except that the new hob won't fit Angry and the guys weren't able to make the hole bigger so have just had to put the old one back in! Now I have to find someone else to come over and take the new oven back out, take the old hob out, cut the hole bigger, and wire in the new hob and put new oven back and can't find anyone to do it today as it's a saturday!! Feeling far too over emotional about it and can't get hold of DH or my Mum to rant so I'm afraid you have all got it instead...sorry!! Just want to cry as now I really don't feel like studying as am SO frustrated but have deadlines looming so really must study... and to top it off I've no idea whether i've ovulated or not this month and can't seem to get this EWCM spotting thing going and CD16 so could be entering into the 2ww...or not I don't know [last cycle was 35 days so could still ov in next few days I guess!??] grrrr feeling very Confused Sad [frustrated emoticon!]

cep · 12/02/2011 13:32

born yep squeezed is less sugar so health wise better, and pink tastes a bit better than yellow, but for some reason it gives you more cm.

blue so sorry about the oven complication. don't worry about ranting on here we're for all sorts of ranting. Do you use fertilityfriend? i never really know if i've ov'd or not cause opks never work for me. I've found on ff the temps are easier to use.
If not you can join through mine, and i think we both get extra free days on the vip thing you'd normally pay for.
mine

hope the rest of the day goes better for you.

BlueCrane · 12/02/2011 13:50

Thanks cep managed to get hold of Mum finally and had a good chat to her...she pointed out that at least the hole wasn't too big as that would've been worse! Feeling a bit better Smile and will check out the FF link...thanks!

cep · 12/02/2011 13:56

no probs. glad your better. Grin

xstitch · 13/02/2011 16:09

Well CD 10 today and DP away again :(, don't think he will be back in time this month.

cep · 13/02/2011 16:27

oh no xstitch when's he due back??

Iggly · 13/02/2011 18:02

sorry to hear that xstitch :(

Blue glad you're better!
I'm on CD 21/22 and no idea if ovulated this month. WIll try a late SWI tomorrow on the off chance but I give up this month! On the plus side I did buy some CB pregnancy tests - 25% off in waitrose.

BlueCrane · 13/02/2011 18:11

Sad xstitch that's frustrating!

Thanks iggly am feeling much better than I did yesterday...sorry all for the rant!

We've managed SWI yesterday and today...currently CD18 but don't know if UCL is 30 or 35 after last months confusion so will just keep going for the moment! Planning for Tues and Thurs again this week...but just worked out that depending on cycle length I could be in the 2nd week of the 2ww leading up to a big project deadline at work Hmm could be interesting!!

Now to do the ironing and other Sunday evening chores!!
