Jump on if you are a TTCer hoping that this cycle is 'the one' and will result in a sprog or sprogette due in November.

Welcoming season ticket holders and new passengers.

OMG it has all kicked off this morning!!!!

Congrats to poppy, hopeful and lou (is that all of you?!) on the positives, what a Monday this has been! Wishing sticky beans to all of you Grin and keep us up to date (or is it just me left here now?)

ETA and of course CONGRATS to BOF too, that sounds v P to me!

Well I think it's too early for me to test as AF is due on Friday (if 28 day cycle like last month) and anyway I can't drive anywhere with the fractured ankle and crutches and I can't risk buying HPTs at the local chemist as everyone in town would know about it, including work colleagues!

Please send your spare TTC vibes my way!

queenrollo · 14/03/2011 16:38

poppyjen yes 12dpo is early for symptoms......what i kind of meant was that for the last 8 cycles (i think) i've had very sore breasts for a week before AF due. Last month i didn't get it, and AF still arrived on time.
This month, like last month i have no tenderness there so not holding out much hope.
This has been the first month since i started TTC over a year ago where I haven't had the urge to POAS way before AF was due. Going to wait until Thurs to see if AF arrives.

Congrats to all who have had BFP's Smile

TheCake · 14/03/2011 20:51

Just wanted to add my congratulations to everyone too! Nothing to report here- 6dpo, I've been starting to wonder if I'm actually on the right bus as lots of people on the Dec bus seem to be further on them me. Although I did check and if I were pregnant I'd be due on the 26th of nov. It looks like it will be a lonely end of the ride for me ! At least the luck of the bus seems to have changed- it seems that BFPs on here are like real life buses!

Congrats once again x

queenrollo · 14/03/2011 21:17

i think AF is about to put in an appearance for me Sad tell tale cramps and some pink when i just went to the loo.

Sad Sad well over a year now, it's not looking good for me is it?

Poppyjen · 15/03/2011 08:42

Hi ladies [waves at the few who are left]. Sorry to hear that queen don't give up hope! It will happen for you Smile

Just posted this on the Dec thread too so apologies for repetition if any of you are checking on there too.

Well I think that all of the lovely congratulations were premature I am afraid. This morning with same FMU the same faint line on Clearblue (a bit thicker this morning or could be wishful thinking) and a stark white BBBBFN on the First Response.Sad Can't be a chemical pregnancy. Can't be an evap.

I am starting to think I have fallen victim to Clearblue's dreaded "false positive". I used to think think that this could never happen (after all this is what everyone says - a line is a line right?) but according to my internet searching about this, the dye from the horizontal control strip in the oval window can leak into the vertical antibody strip (where the positive result would be shown) leaving a thin blue line where the positive result should be, and well within the time as well. This morning the line was there within a minute.

Feeling rather Confused and Angry at Clearblue for selling a product with so obvious a flaw.

Clinging on to the hope that FR is just being slow at picking up my HCG but as I got a BFP with DS on a First Response at 10 DPO I think it is unlikely Sad . I have some more very sensitive IC arriving this morning so we'll see what they have to say. Not optimistic.

TBH just want AF to show up so I can start this whole thing again (or an obvious BFP obviously )

So sorry for whiny post all about me. Hope you are all having better luck.

hopeful1 · 15/03/2011 08:48

Hi All,

Congrats to all the BFP's.

I did a clear blue digital yesy this morning as faint lines on a test were not helping my neurosis!!

It said pregnant 1-2weeks so I am off to the November antenatal thread.

Good luck to all those others still trying, will be thinking of you x x

louboutinslover · 15/03/2011 09:37

on no queen. Did she show?

Poppy sorry that you are getting mixed results. Would not give up hope yet though and test again tomorrow am. Maybe use a clear blue digital. At least then there is no guessing involved just a straight answer. Hope you have a good day and I will keep checking in to see your updates :)

Huge congrats hopeful1. So nice to see those words appear, isnt it Grin see you on the nov thread.

good luck to the rest of you still in the dreaded 2ww and about to test.

Poppyjen · 15/03/2011 09:47

Thanks lou CB line is same thickness as control today and def visible to those without ttc madness Wink so I am cautiously optimistic. Confused by FR though. Will test again tomorrow and save CB digital for later in the week Smile

Yay hopeful1!!!! Congratulations Grin

queenrollo · 15/03/2011 12:12

well no AF hasn't shown up, and I was very weak and bought a test when out and did it and BFN.

I guess this is another wait and see.....if AF not here by the weekend then i'll test again. Suppose it could be implantation but i'm trying not to get my hopes up and thinking it's more like AF making a slow and steady appearance rather than her usual 'bam' here i am one...

It's just that after trying for over a year with no success i'm beginning to think that DH and i are going to be unlucky and not be able to have a child together. I have DS already but I so much want to make DH a daddy Sad

Poppyjen · 16/03/2011 08:01

Morning ladies just a quick update: nothing, nil, zero.... Sad

BFN this morning on internet cheapie and clearblue plus (new packet) so got frustrated and did digital and guess what...BFN

SO Angry with Clearblue. Please ladies be wary when you use these, especially the kind where the horizontal control strip is made up of small dots. It is ridiculous that they are allowed to charge us so much money for something that is quite frankly not fit for purpose.

So... on to the December bus for me Smile

No AF but I have what looks suspiciously to me like a touch of EWCM today and yesterday so back to SWI just in case Wink who knows maybe I just haven't ov'd yet I have heard that can happen sometimes after coming off the pill Hmm

Hope there's better news out there....Smile

queenrollo · 16/03/2011 09:55

AF still hasn't put in an appearance. Had all the cramps again last night and more pink stuff after going to the loo. Fully expected AF to be here this morning (it's usual for me to get her full flow first thing). No cramps this morning.

Have no idea what's going on Hmm

Sorry poppyjen. have you recently come off the pill? both times i stopped taking it i had no discernible cycle. This time i saw a medical herbalist who got my cycle on track, but that was after 5 months of ireegularity. As awful as it is getting AF every 33 days i find it easier to cope with then when my cycles were anything from 30 to 45 days.

Poppyjen · 16/03/2011 10:22

Hi queen yes I have just come off the pill. I think I will just have to wait to see when AF shows up - I have PCOS too which doesn't help Confused.

Last time though we managed to conceive DS the month after I stopped taking the pill so was hoping the same would be true this time Smile oh well!

Hope that you find out what's going on soon! It is so frustrating when AF doesn't show up but BFN...Fx for you that the reason its different is a good one Smile

queenrollo · 16/03/2011 11:53

well AF is here Sad

have just made a GP appt for me and DH.

Poppyjen · 16/03/2011 12:30

queen Sad but very good that you have made GP appointment hopefully this is the first step to successful TTC!! Grin

TheCake · 16/03/2011 17:48

queenrollo sad for you that this was not your month. You have definitely done the right thing making that appointment, hope it goes well x

poppyjen my first cycle after the pill was 45 days, so you could def be ovulating now. Sex sex and more sex!

Poppyjen · 16/03/2011 17:53
Smile
ghosteditor · 16/03/2011 19:05

sorry to hear that queen and hope the GP appt helps get things sorted.

AF has just arrived for me, two days earlier than normal, which is a bit of a bummer, but at least I hadn't worked myself up about it yet. So this won't be my bus unfortunately...

Am thinking about giving next month a miss as I had originally decided to wait until April to TTC. DH and I will be enjoying our first wedding anniversary with a trip to NY in about 6 weeks, which should be perfect timing for TTC again. Plus it would be better for work to wait another month. Hmmm... not sure...

Anyway good luck to anyone who's left on the bus and fx for all those Dec bus ladies!

Poppyjen · 16/03/2011 19:23

Sorry to hear that ghost, NY trip sounds amazing though definitely a good time to make a baby Smile

TheCake sorry if TMI but I have sooo much EWCM today Blush that I am hoping I am just ovulating late as you said, I have decided to concentrate on the SWI and not the POAS (much more healthy!) and test again in a couple of weeks. 31st sounds like a good date for it - it's my son's first birthday Smile.

If AF comes in the meantime that's fine too, either way I'll know where I am Grin

bornofdust · 17/03/2011 09:27

Morning all

I think there's a comment to be made here about our obsession with POAS.

Going back to HopeCalvary's post about how much HcG each test can detect, I think the Internet cheapies and many others are a waste of money and probably cause us more stress than relief. It sounds like many of us have had 'maybe' results over the last week, and not everyone has turned out to be PG.

Since Friday I've been testing everyday with an IC to see if the line is getting stronger or whether it's still a faint line. It wasn't getting stronger at all, so this morning I did both the IC and the more expensive First Response early result pregnancy test (which claims to pick up PG 6 days before your missed AF date). I did an FR last Friday and had a very faint line. Today, with the FR early result pregnancy test, I am happy that I have a BFP - 30 days since my last AF. However the IC still has a very faint line. So I can see that the FR test really has picked up the increased hormone levels, whereas the IC hasn't.

So there seems to be a quality rather than quantity lesson for me, when it comes to tests. This is definitely a matter of personal preference, but I think I would have been better off saving my money and practising a little more self-discipline when it came to POAS.

queenrollo good luck at your GP appointment, I can't begin to imagine how frustrated you must feel at not getting a result yet.

Best wishes for those remaining, and I hope there's as much camaradery on the December bus.

This has been a nice bus to ride on, and a nice introduction to the support that MN can offer. I'm still being a bit superstitious and am not ready to jump on the pregnancy thread, but I think I'm getting off here.

xx

Poppyjen · 17/03/2011 09:34

YAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!! born congratulations Grin wish you all the best!

Its going to be FR all the way for me from now on - I am totally with you. You really do get what you pay for (unless it is a clearblue plus Angry) and I think internet cheapies just fuel the obsession and the frustration.

[waves and blows kisses to born ]

DoFliesHaveKnees · 17/03/2011 11:05

Congratulations Born and to all the other BFP'ers!!

I am in total agreement regarding the internet cheapies, even though I have spent a small fortune on them! I have a bag of the upstairs which I have managed to not pee on this month. If I got a BFP this month I would be very surprised even though we dtd all the time this month!

We've been referred to the fertility clinic, so just waiting for our appointment to come through. Have booked a holiday in September to give us something to look forward to as well. Think we need the distractions!

Good luck to everyone left on the bus. I was going to redo the stats but I have lost track of who's actually still here Smile

Due AF on Saturday, so unless there is a minor miracle, will catch the December bus. Until then though, happy POAS!

TheCake · 17/03/2011 22:16

Congratulations born that is brilliant news!!

And poppyjen it's def not tmi- and I strangely enough have had a bit today too?! 10dpo tomorrow and I've got some uni friends coming to stay for the whole weekend who will be expecting to get very drunk. Will still drink but will take it easy I think! X

ghosteditor · 18/03/2011 09:36

congrats born it's great that you can finally believe what you're seeing!

I actually thought I might have done it this month as I'm absolutely exhausted pretty much all of the time. But maybe it's just that my body is spending all of its energy healing the injury. Also this AF and the last one have been quite strange - a little bit lighter (only a little bit) and much darker than normal. But I did a test on the day of AF last month and it was BFN, so I guess it's just all in my head. I wouldn't even be thinking like this if I didn't have a friend who had periods for the first few months of both her pregnancies!

Stupid body...

TheCake · 18/03/2011 11:53

Bugger bugger bugger. Apologies for the swearing and the tmi. Yesterday morning when I wiped I had some brown blood- only a very small amount. Today I did a test- BFN, but according to my dates I would be 10dpo- so would not be that likely to be negative anyway. Anyway when I wiped this morning again brown blood but a bit more so it looks like my period is starting.

Ok so I need some advice. I have only gone off dates so far, 1st cycle of Pill was 45 days then I have had 2 33 day cycles- I think. I'm cOnfused as to how you work out cycles would I count today as the first day or my cycle or yesterday, or neither as I am not showing red blood yet? I really feel clueless about this! Also I time my swi around my guessed dates, I know it's best to just have regular sex, but after 12 years together and demanding jobs we would nOrmally just have sex at the weekend. I've tried using Internet cheapie ov tests but they have not worked for me. Do people think I should get a clear blue monitor or just the clear blue ones with the smily faces? Temping prob won't work well fOr me as I often wake through the night during the week and sleep late at the weekend.

Any suggestions? X

Poppyjen · 18/03/2011 14:40

Hi TheCake [waves] - not many people left now....

I would wait a couple of days just to see whether AF arrives with full flow. If she does then count your first day with any bleeding as CD1. If she doesn't, don't count yourself out of the running!

TBH I think that ovulation tests are a bit rubbish - they only tell you when you are just about to ovulate anyway and as sperm can be active for a good few days inside surely you would need to be SWI a few days before the OV test would be positive anyway...Confused

Having said that I know a few people who swear by the monitors...

Probably telling you what you already know but I have decided to ditch the tests and just go by cervical position and CM, this way you get to know when your body is gearing up for ovulation which gives you a good few days notice to plan some SWI Smile. I have just been marking (very discretely...Blush )on my calendar when the CM starts to get a bit thin and stretchy and then marking when it becomes truly EWCM. Also marking when cervix becomes high and difficult to reach, then when it also becomes soft (this should coincide with the stretchiest and most abundant EWCM). When ovulation has happened the CM should get less stretchy and more sticky. The cervix should feel harder and more closed and gradually move down again to a position that is easier to find.

It may seem a bit icky but it does give you a good idea of what your body is up to (or should anyway in my case I appear to be ovulating on CD39...) and is much cheaper than the tests Grin
