Jump on if you are a TTCer hoping that this cycle is 'the one' and will result in a sprog or sprogette due in November.

Welcoming season ticket holders and new passengers.

Hello mumtum no worries about the typo earlier, I assumed you meant bfp anyway and no offence taken at all!! Smile Smile

On the exercise theme I cancelled my gym membership before Christmas as prices creeping too high for the amount of use it was getting and now trying to do an exercise DVD at home three mornings a week but don't seem to feel any fitter or lighter!! Really don't want to put loads of weight on if I do get PG and keep reading that the better shape you are in pre-PG the better chance of losing weight quickly afterwards! If only i enjoyed exercise a bit more than I do and food a bit less Grin!

ghosteditor · 17/02/2011 15:37

The whole exercise thing is easy for me; I love it and DH is away a lot so it's nice to do some team sports. I'm bad at organising myself for exercise so find that team sports or pre-paid classes are a good incentive, as I don't want to miss out. So I shouldn't really get any kudos for doing something that I find fun! Plus I don't have DCs so I can do whatever I like of an evening.

There's a local mum with two boys who look about 8 and 10 years old, and I always see her running with them on school holiday mornings. They have a big dog running with them too! When I first used to see them her younger boy had a bit of puppy fat but both boys look really athletic now. I think it's really sweet that they exercise together. Do you reckon there's anything you could do together that you might enjoy? Just wondered if it might take the focus off the mums and any idea of weight loss, which might make it more fun!

It's my main aim in life still to be playing hockey when my future putative DCs are old enough so that we can play together. We have lots of mum/daughter combinations in my club and it looks like so much fun! Sadly I'm having some knee and hip problems which indicates I may not last long enough in the game to still be playing when they're old enough.

(IB has a lot to live up to Grin )

ghosteditor · 17/02/2011 15:40

hi born , I'm not sure what to say about your symptoms but here's hoping that there's a BFP waiting for you next week!

oh and cep, I like food a little bit too much too - I'm very heavy for my height and build but I like to pretend it's all the muscle Grin

ghosteditor · 17/02/2011 15:41

whoops I meant to direct that last comment at blue

MumTumWanted · 17/02/2011 17:25

Thank you cep i know i shouldnt get my hopes up at all but when i got home about 2 hours ago i poas (opk) and got a very faint line , yesterday there was nothing so im hoping if i POAS again tomorrow it will be a definite line and OH and can swi ( also v lucky as OH does usually make the finish line - i should hope so he is 6 years younger than ancient ol me !), i know im counting my chickens but im really hopeful, ( also means i was extremely lucky with 1st AF following mc as i may have got off very lightly) like i said counting chickens really.....but at least im happy when delusional Wink

I also am not tall enough for my weight ( largely cos i like my food too much !)

Collie2 · 17/02/2011 17:47

Mummymuddy Smile at your bird and the beas talk to DH! Is it his indeed!!! Shock

waves at Mumtum I'm ok thanks. My temps are up and down. I had a big dip yest and huge rise today and have cm but b4 mc my ucl was 40 days and ov around day 23- only on day 10 now so not been poas but I know cycles can changed post mc. Think I might swi tonight just jn case Grin I'm not sure what to say about your temps. I think you do usually get a dip b4 ov abd i think your looking for a continued rise in the next few days. There's no harm swi tonight just in case and then seeing what your temps do tomorow. Have you peed on a opk test today? Hmmm speaking of which I might go an pee on one myself.... Just in case Grin

ghost v impressed by your motivation to exercise. I went to the gym for the first time in ages last night. But feel really good for it, it's just getting back into the habit that's hard. What's your views on exercise while pg? I went to the gym once when pg which was just days b4 the baby stopped growing at 9+3. I don't neccessarly blame that, but wonder if it could have been a risk. I did my usual routine but didn't push myself as hard.

Sorry I've not shouted out to everyone else. It's been a while since I've been on so there's too much to catch up on. Fx for more bfp's though!!

cep · 17/02/2011 18:18

mumtum you're already one step ahead of me, i never even got a faint line. so yey Grin

i like your height comment, i think i'll steal it. I'm not fat for my height i'm too short for my weight. Grin

MumTumWanted · 17/02/2011 20:58

Confusedwhat worries me is i also got a faint line on the 4th feb too have had that wtf bleed in between and negative opks too but does seems a little early to be OVing again Hmm .... but hey it is post mc so who knows! FX and i shall enjoy the swi all weekend ! Grin

MumTumWanted · 17/02/2011 20:59

oh yeah cep i often use the phrase i never grew into my weight - im only 4ft 11 !!!!

sevendwarves · 17/02/2011 22:15

Hi, not been on here for a while. I certainly don't think we'll have any luck this month. I haven't been using OPK's or charting this month as DH wanted to relax ttc for a couple of months. I should ov today, no EWCM but I did have some around 5 days ago so no idea what's going on!

We moved house yesterday so we're both a bit stressed out with loads to do, DH is exhausted with all of the DIY he's been doing, he hasn't had a proper day off since boxing day! Also I slipped on wet paving slabs af my parents yesterday morning. I've got a black eye and torn a ligament in my shoulder, so I'm on high strength painkillers and not feeling remotely sexy!

cep · 18/02/2011 07:31

oh seven you poor thing, that sounds really painful. good luck with the new house.

Poppyjen · 18/02/2011 08:30

Hi ladies, may I join?

Here are my stats:

Poppyjen TTC#2 Cycle 1 CD10 UCL ? (PCOS) AF Due March 8th (ish)

Managed to conceive DS1 the month after I came off the pill despite diagnosis of PCOS, wondering whether we'll be so lucky this time...DH now convinced he has "super-sperm" Hmm but I think he hopes that we have a bit more of a run-up this time Wink

DS1 is almost 1 so there will be a fairly small gap if we are successful soon. Very scary but exciting too!

Best of luck to everyone, I hope that this is a very lucky bus!

lucyintheskywithdinos · 18/02/2011 09:07

Hello Poppyjen! I love hearing positive TTC with PCOS stories, my sister is diagnosed and too scared to start trying in case it takes forever and she has to have interventions.

I guess I'm into the TWW now, managed SWI 5 of the last 7 days (not bad when DD1 doesn't go to sleep til 11.30pm most nights, she has ADD). I've convinced myself that I'm not pregnant this month, I tend to do this so I don't get my hopes up!

Really weird in a woo way, a couPle of nights ago I dreamed that a friend wrote a letter to me giving details of our IB's gender and date of birth. She rang me yesterday to tell me that she dreamed she told me we were having a boy when we go on holiday together in May!

sevendwarves · 18/02/2011 09:22

Thanks cep.

I need to try to make the effort to SWI tonight anyway otherwise I may as well jump off the bus now!

BlueCrane · 18/02/2011 09:23

Oh seven really sorry about the fall though glad the house move went ok! Have you got lots of DIY to do in the new place?

lucy bizarre dream and conversations indeed!!

Well, think I'm firmly in the 2ww and trying to stay calm...feeling slightly less bloated this morning though felt a bit like a whale last night!! Am hiding in the spare room 'working from home' Wink this morning whilst I have workmen sorting some stuff out in the kitchen...always get a tad nervy when anyone here to do work as panic something will go wrong!! But must stay calm, get of MN and do some work Hmm

BlueCrane · 18/02/2011 09:25

clearly that should've been 'off MN'

and PS on the topic of exercise from yesterday...are sit ups safe to do in a) the 2ww and b) the first 12 weeks? I tend to try and do them in the morning in some vane hope they might help me look a bit slimmer Smile but don't want to keep doing them if there's a chance they could be bad for a small bean!!

ghosteditor · 18/02/2011 09:28

collie that's awesome, well done you! Excepting specific medical problems I'm fully behind exercising when pg (on the premise that until the last few decades women mostly wouldn't have had the luxury of not doing manual work while pg and the human race is still here). I hear that it's best to stick to what your body is used to, and I've also heard that it's best to restrict your heart rate to about 70% max if pg. However I've since been told that the 70% thing is outdated advice. I think because you're more susceptible to high blood pressure and sensitivity to heat you do need to be careful about going above the aerobic threshold. However I do think it's even more important than normal to balance out any cardio/weights work with a good stretching regime. At the moment I'm doing yoga, pilates, hockey, and the gym, but that is much more to do with recovering from injury than trying to 'be healthy' per se.

Sorry to hear about your loss, that must have been awful. Only you can decide what you feel about exercising following your experience, but often I think we're too keen to find a 'reason' on which to blame bad experiences. A close family member died of a horrible sudden illness when I was a child, and he'd been stung twice by a wasp the day before. I can't count how many times I heard the damn wasp blamed for his death - we thought it might have weakened his immune system, when really the illness is a devastating virus that has a high mortality rate.

ghosteditor · 18/02/2011 09:31

oh seven the fall sounds awful! best wishes for a speedy recovery Brew and Biscuit (the tasty crumbly kind, not the no comment kind)

ghosteditor · 18/02/2011 09:35

bluecrane if you are used to doing sit ups then I'm sure it's fine to continue! sit ups only really get at muscles so for small bean it's no worse than bending over to pick something up. Also am in awe of people who can do morning exercise as I'm rubbish at getting out of bed!

Do you do the slow controlled kind or the speedy crunches kind? At Pilates we do curl ups instead of sit ups and even 10-20 of them work my muscles a lot more than the old fashioned kind of sit up, and they work the lower abs a lot more too. Basically a curl up done properly will cut out the use of leg muscles a bit more so it makes the abs work harder and you need to do fewer. Am a massive convert!

BlueCrane · 18/02/2011 09:39

See for me morning exercise works best [when I can get out of bed] as after work I just want my dinner and then I'm at home and going out again to exercise just doesn't seem to work!! Am a more slow controlled sit up person though am inrigued by the curl ups you mention - may google!

mmm...just realised I really should've taken the kettle out of the kitchen before I let the workmen in...feel a Brew calling but no way of heating the water...mmm

ghosteditor · 18/02/2011 09:43

blue in that case here's a imaginary Brew to go with our IBs and imaginary cake!

Still no AF by the way...

Iggly · 18/02/2011 09:43
ghosteditor · 18/02/2011 09:43

excuse me, an imaginary

Iggly · 18/02/2011 09:44

Blue can't you go in the kitchen and demand ask sweetly for your kettle?

ghosteditor · 18/02/2011 09:58

Ok I take it all back, AF is now on the way, so that's it for me this time around.

Think I'll still be on the Nov bus though, just the other end!

Next time if I start wittering on about testing please smack me on the head remind me that AF is back to a 27/28 day cycle.
