Jump on if you are a TTCer hoping that this cycle is 'the one' and will result in a sprog or sprogette due in November.

Welcoming season ticket holders and new passengers.

Ding ding!

I think I am going to buy him a biology textbook. The conversation kind of goes like this.

Him: Why haven't we conceived yet
Me I think its because we struggle to be together at right time of month.
Him:Why does that matter I thought you had 25% chance each cycle so you should manage it in maximum 4
Me: But that only applies if you SWI at right time of month
Him: so how do all those teenagers conceive from doing it once.
Me: they don't you only hear about the ones that do conceive, anyway they are probably more likely to get carried away mid cycle due to hormones. you're also forgetting we're not teenagers.
Him: I don't get it.

I then give up until the next time. It is apparently OK for me since I had classes in physiology. Hmm really don't think you need a degree to understand the basics. I am frustrated too but more with the way the situation makes it more difficult for us to SWI at the right time.

Iggley IME you notice pregnant women more when you are ttc. I don't think there are actually any more than at other times. It just gets to you more. I've been there when I had my second MC 4 of my colleagues were pregnant.

weimy · 16/02/2011 13:48

Hi all,

Well done on the list bluecrane!

xstitch having the same prob with my OH, he really doesn't understand the small window we have, so I just ended up saying that there are only three days I can get pregnant on in a month. Over simplification but he needs it simple.

mummymuddy I'm 7dpo now with no real symptoms, just ones that I have had during other cycles. Thanks for the FX :)

Imps7 · 16/02/2011 14:02

Another vote for a bendy bus! Can you get double decker bendy buses?

weimy · 16/02/2011 14:06

Bendy!!!

lucyintheskywithdinos · 16/02/2011 14:16

I'm CD 13 today, managed SWI 3 days out of the last 4, just going to continue as often as we can manage til the weekend I think. DH was asking if he was allowed the weekend off yesterday, the bugger!

Another vote for bendy bus!

I have the 5th of March in my head as poas day for some reason, the thread needs BFPs now though so I can live vicariously through more people! I have three friends due in June and a November baby would still be in their little group.

ghosteditor · 16/02/2011 14:58

let's go with a bendy bus, then. I declare that there must be room for a little tea trolley with tea and cakes and things.

and the trolley probably is so well stocked that it has a few emergency HPTs stored in it as well. Only to be used in emergencies though!

BlueCrane · 16/02/2011 16:12

good call ghost especially on the tea trolley and emergency supplies Wink

ghosteditor · 16/02/2011 16:19

[maybe I should use an IT (=imaginary test) for my IB. Would that limit the crazy, or make it worse?!]

lucyintheskywithdinos · 16/02/2011 16:35

I like the IT idea, I have been doing imaginary knitting all week!

sillybillymummy · 16/02/2011 16:38

Hey Ladies,
The trolley sounds lush!
I am the same Ravenlocks - trying to obsess over loosing weight, not ttc!

ghosteditor · 16/02/2011 16:39

fab! imaginary knitting!!!

AF type pains seem to have disappeared again with no sign of AF yet. I think I liked it better when I was all ignorant and not paying attention and things.

How can this week possibly take any longer?

MumTumWanted · 16/02/2011 16:47

tea trolley is a fab idea ghost i think it should also have plenty of free POAS for anything we need to learn about- plus a crystal ball would be good too........fx the pains stay away for you now too x

Iggly · 16/02/2011 16:56

I'm with you ghost. When's AF due for you? I think I'm due this weekend

Have already resisted the urge to buy more tests. Will take an IT instead. Oh, it's a BFN! Grin

BlueCrane · 16/02/2011 16:57

I have been utterly amazed about the number of things my body does (probably every month) that I never noticed until we started TTCing and going through my first 2ww last month! How are we all so totally oblivious to these strange goings on until TTC?!?! I really do Envy those who it just 'happens' to when they weren't expecting it!! Am sure that has it's own complications but the 2ww is totally hideous and I'm just at the start of it again Angry!!

cep · 16/02/2011 17:04

xstitch sorry you and dh are feeling so low

i'm sure you already know these stats but:
· Just 25% of couples actively trying to conceive become pregnant the first cycle.
· 60% become pregnant in the first six months of trying to conceive.
· 75% of couples become pregnant within nine months.
· 90% of couples experience pregnancy within 18 months.

as someone else said (sorry forgot who) egg only lasts 12-24 hours and if you dtd after ov pg is unlikely. it needs to be within 3-4 days before ov. I can't remember if i've asked you this but are you on ff? If not, you get a free vip period for the first month, once you've ov'd (and put in when you dtd) it can tell you if you've scored high on timing of dtd. i've copied mine below for this month, unfortunately scored low. Sad

Intercourse Timing Analyzer
Cycle Day
Cycle O-3 O-2 O-1 O O+1 Score
01/29/2011 * Low

cep · 16/02/2011 17:05

bluecrane know exactly how you feel, and every temp raise or ache gets your hopes up. fx for you.

Imps7 · 16/02/2011 18:15

With you Bluecrane and cep - I really wish I had spent a few pre-TTC cycles recording every twinge, tired spell, wave of nausea etc so that now I'm TTC I could focus on new feelings and sensations! Am sure it would help me go less crazy each 2ww.

Right, I'm going to choose and imaginary paint colour for the imaginary nursery...

ghosteditor · 16/02/2011 18:24

sigh, am in such good company here!

iggly, I'm not quite sure about when AF is due, hence the stress. Cycles were always always 27/28 days (usually the evening of day 27) but the last two have been 21 and 25 days respectively. I'm now on CD 26 but a test on CD 24 was BFN. I figure if I can hold out until Friday I will either have AF or be properly late.

really unsure now as definitely felt the pre-AF type of ache earlier today, but it has eased off now. Sadly work is kind of quiet at the moment so I can't distract myself fully!

Am going training now though so that'll keep me busy for a couple of hours.

ghosteditor · 16/02/2011 18:25

[stares at mumtum's crystal ball]

emsiedoodle · 16/02/2011 19:02

Hello I think I need to be joining this bus now. AF was due Fri/Sat and other than a bit of 'stuff' on wiping I have had no proper AF and several very definite BFN's, subsequently have no idea where I stand with this cycle.

Any ideas on where to start?

jigglebum · 16/02/2011 19:03

Hi ladies - I think I'd like to cautiously board this bus (if that is possible!) Back TTC no 2 after a mc at 11 weeks in December. My cycle seems to be back to normal but it took over ten months to get pregnant last time so not overly hopeful for November!

Not a good start to this evenings SWIing efforts though as DH in strop over me having a go about something. (Albeit fully justified in my opinion obviously!) Is a bit early in the cycle so not crucial!

Good luck to everyone on this bus.

ghosteditor · 16/02/2011 21:26

welcome emsie and jiggle , hope this bus is the one for you!

ghosteditor · 16/02/2011 21:29

Ladies - I have a confession to make...

I SQUISHED IB! At training we had to do some sprint and plyometrics work and at one point we had to drop from a run to a press up position. The ground was slippy and I fell flat out, thereby squishing IB! Bashed my boobs too Shock

Am sure it won't make the blindest bit of difference really but it has made me rethink my assumption that I'd be training as normal for the rest of the season...

weimy · 16/02/2011 21:40

Whats IB?

ghosteditor · 16/02/2011 21:47

whoops did I post this on the wrong thread? IB = imaginary baby, very apt for the conception thread!
