Jump on if you are a TTCer hoping that this cycle is 'the one' and will result in a sprog or sprogette due in November.

Welcoming season ticket holders and new passengers.

Hi to all the newbies!

I have been away at a friends so not been on line.

Hope everyone is ok and not too stressed Hmm.

I am 5dpo and have started symptom spotting. I have been temping but am toying with stopping post ov as I think it is a bit stressful, what do you think?

Iggly · 14/02/2011 16:12

Phew ghost glad I'm not the only one seeing things Grin

blue prenatal vitamins really didn't agree with me so had ovaltine a lot and foods which had folic acid in.

cep · 14/02/2011 17:28

amummy can understand that. goodluck in rl.

Thinking11 · 14/02/2011 20:39

ok so im drinking fresh grapefruit juice everyday, taking agnes castus, taking pregnacare conception tablets, stopped smoking 7 month ago, quit drinking, lost nearly 2 stone, using a clearblue fertility monitor, eating loads of fruit and veg, drinking loads of water, charting temperature, had blood tests...

If there is anything else I can do to gain my BFP please let me know, this waiting is really hard.

TTC#1 Cycle 2 with donor insemination CD8, UCL 25, OV 15

cep · 14/02/2011 20:46

hello thinking apparently brazil nuts are supposed to help implantation. How do you find using the cbfm? i'm thinking about getting one if still not bfp in a couple of months. I wish i could lose 2 stone just can't get back onto the diet.

Thinking11 · 14/02/2011 22:01

Cheers cep, ill be buying brazil nuts next time im out. I wont be eating too many though as i still have weight to lose they are fairly high in fats.

Its my first month using the cbfm and im currently waiting for my status to change from low fertility to high then my peak. Its much clearer than cheepy OPK as im always pretty unsure when i use those and different brands give differnt results.

If you buy one i'd recommend Amazon, i think i paid £78 for monitor and 20 sticks where as Boots charge £110 for monitor and £24 for sticks!

Iggly · 15/02/2011 08:49

Thinking, if you don't mind me asking, how does sperm donation work - do they inseminate you once a month or a few times over your peak fertility? I only ask because I've read that you should make sure there's sperm "waiting" for the egg so need to do it before the peak and during - egg only lasts 12-24 hours?
I'm sad to report that I POAS again this morning and definitely no faint line this time so I can only conclude it was a dodgy test(or dodgy eyes Wink )
So I'll be only using my left over cheapies until AF, no doubt, turns up.

whatserface · 15/02/2011 09:30

ohh yes ill join this im 27 and ttc no 5
(yes i love children) and i am cd 19 af due after the weekend!!!! hoping for a BFP and november bus like all my other sprogs. (( november is a busy month!!!!))

lucyintheskywithdinos · 15/02/2011 10:38

Welcome what'sheface! I'll probably be 27 having our number 3, might have more depending on various other things!

Well, I have the start of EWCM so lots more SWI for us over the next few days! Very very excited for some reason!

ghosteditor · 15/02/2011 16:25

thinking it sounds like you're doing all the right virtuous stuff. Big congrats on losing weight and hope it helps!

Hope it works out for you. I think there are blogs kicking around for people TTC with insemination which might be quite interesting...

[I'm v bored of waiting for AF/to test right now. This has been the longest month in the history of the world. ever.]

Thinking11 · 15/02/2011 19:53

Just munching on my brazil nuts as I check on the bus.

I am carrying out donor insemination without the use of doctors and clinic due to the upset caused by one doctor and me perfering to be in control and do it myself.

I receive the donations three or four consecutive days spanning my peak.I initially was worried thinking that i wasn't inseminating enough but after reading many peoples posts i realise that this is often the same amount people SWI when they are trying in a couple.

This is only my second month so fingers crossed for inseminations this weekend.

ravenlocks · 15/02/2011 20:59

Hi everyone,

Sorry I have been a bit quiet - making myself do less mumsnetting to try and chill out a bit and obsess less - which is working as I don't know what DPO am (yesss!). Am in the 2WW now for sure - reeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaally hoping the bitch stays away!

Have we had any BFPs yet??

OP posts:
MummyMuddy · 16/02/2011 09:39

Good Morning Ladies!

Didn?t check in yesterday but doesn?t look like we?re had any BFP?s yet? Boo!

Weimy how?s the symptom spotting going? Anything new happening? FX for a BFP!

Well done on being so proactive Thinking11! Espec on they stopping smoking & weight loss! I am doing slimming world in order to lose the baby weight I already have from DC#1 ? but like my mum said she is still trying to lose the baby weight and it?s currently taken over 28 years! Shock

Welcome whatserface ? wow TTC#5 ? jealous! Would love to have a big family. What ages are your DC?

Any news ghosteditor?

Ravenlocks I know how you feel about MN, it is addictive so I only allow myself on here once (twice at a push!) a day otherwise I would never get anything done!

BlueCrane · 16/02/2011 10:07

Morning all! Feeling v hungry this morning so here's some nice biccies for everyone

Well, I'm CD21 out of what might be 30 days or might be 35 days Confused as normally regular 30 but last month was 35! Trying to remain calm and not get too obsessive...saving that for next week Wink!!

Be good to get some BFP's on here soon!

xstitch · 16/02/2011 12:03

Spoke to DP on the phone he is very down about our so far failure with ttc and thinks we should go to the GP. I think it is more to do with us struggling to be together at the right time of the month and we should wait until we have been trying a full year. He just told me he doesn't understand why it would need to be the right time of the month Hmm. What do you ladies think?

ghosteditor · 16/02/2011 12:17

hey xstich, I'm by no means an expert but from what I've read on here, you don't need to worry yet. You're on cycle 4, right? I've seen the stat floated around that in a healthy cycle the chances of conception are about 25%, so it's not surprising that it can take a while, especially if you're struggling with timings.

If you think your DH can face it, it might be worth a quick run down of exactly how conception works in terms of the brief window you have for TTC around ovulation! Or maybe you've tried that and it just doesn't work Hmm. I don't know why men don't just go look these things up, do they think we somehow know by magic?

Barring any other medical factors it seem like GPs will only start to take action if you've been TTC with no result for 12 months (at least in the UK), so I'm not sure you'd gain much. Is there anything DH could do that might help him feel more in control? Take vitamins (is it zinc for chaps?), cut down on alcohol, exercise more etc?

as always fx for you...

ghosteditor · 16/02/2011 12:20

muddy, thanks for asking! I'm on CD 26 (prev cycle was 25 days but that's a bit short for me). I do feel a bit achy like AF is on the way today, but I said that a couple of days ago! There are a couple of other AF-type signs so I'm just trying to chill out until I know either way. I tested on CD 24 with a BFN so I don't think there's much point testing again now.

Suspect it might be AF for me this month Sad

BlueCrane · 16/02/2011 13:05

Iggly · 16/02/2011 13:10

I agree with ghost, xstitch, your DH needs a biology lesson!! Just tell him the egg is released once a month, lasts up to 24 hours so need sperm ready for when it's released.

I too don't think we've done it this month. I've just spoken to my best mate who's pregnant. So that's five pregnant women I know. When will it be me?!!

whatserface · 16/02/2011 13:13

mummymuddy- my babies are 6,4,3 and 14 months!!!!
im shattered!!! lol i think thats all the shagging tho.. teehee---TMI sorry!
hope all the ladies are well,
what the buggerations does UCL mean?? (blushes at own stupidity)
xx

Imps7 · 16/02/2011 13:15

Hello everyone

V excited to hear about the supposed positive effects of Brazil nuts - I eat them every day for my afternoon snack!

I'm on CD32 - ERTD due on Tuesday next week. I caved and POAS this lunchtime - BFN, boo. I was then very cross with myself for doing it early.

xstitch - I'm sorry you're both feeling so down, totally understandable. This whole thing is deeply frustrating - how the hell do women ever get pregnant by accident? I do think some men must blame themselves if it doesn't work and think that it somehow affects their masculinity, bless them. At least you can see how much they want it if they also get down in the dumps about lack of upduffedness.

Well I'd best get on with my healthy, highly nutritious salad for lunch - got to keep my imaginery baby in peak fitness you understand!

ghosteditor · 16/02/2011 13:27

whatserface, UCL is 'usual cycle length'. Not sure that CD (=cycle day) or UCL are being used that much any more, it's simpler for the list just to say AF due on 16 Feb, for example.

PS bluecrane thanks for the list - do we want a double decker or one of those crazy long bendy buses?

BlueCrane · 16/02/2011 13:35

ghost oooh a crazy long bendy bus might be more fun...I always hate trying to go up and down the stairs on double deckers whilst they're moving Grin!
