Anybody else due to test around 24th January?

Hi,

I had Implanon removed end of November, have had one period since and am currently on day 16. TTC #2. Used some OPKs over the weekend which were positive on Sunday and Monday morning so assuming I ovulated Sun or Mon perhaps tho this was my first time using them properly.

Anyone else due to test around the same time who wants to share (possibly non-existent!) symptoms? :)

muffins and sunface I did exactly the same thing last night with a bonus test I found in the cupboard that I didn't know I had. Why oh why do we do it to ourselves? Seriously it's like some kind of addiction!

I was really "aware" of my boobs all last night - that sounds like a silly thing to say but they really were sore, less so today but still definately there. I'm very stressed at work but stress has never given me wierd boobs before!!!!! Grin

ooh yucky tonsilitis is horrid, I've had it loads and my throat is the first thing to hurt when I get a bit run down. My tonsils are huge too from repeated infection. Hope yours is the bacterial kind that responds to antibiotics! So antibiotics are ok with possible pg right? Not trying to be alarmist, genuinely don't know and hadn't thought about it.

Haha but if you are on antibiotics at the party you have an obvious excuse not to drink, and in this case you could actually wave the packaging at them as proof! Puts anti-early-testing-hat-on - yep, Friday might be a bit early really so you still wouldn't be sure unless you got a massive BFP (fingers crossed for you naturally)

KatyCustard...'I was really 'aware' of my boobs last night' Grin love it!

I keep prodding mine so hard that if they weren't hurting before then they will be soon!

Ghosteditor-your talk of not testing is doing no good-just talking about it makes me want to go home and do the other test I have!

Maybe I'll save it for the morning!

ghost i explained to the gp we were ttc and were mid cycle so asked for antibiotics which were safe in pregnancy just incase.

ghosteditor · 17/01/2011 16:11

oh awesome, good to know that's possible with antibiotics, though for some reason I seem to be more susceptible to viral infections so rarely receive antibiotics (at least that's what the GP says!)

however have just realised that I haven't been to the GP since asthma clinic a year ago, must be a new record for me as am always picking up injuries which need physio or check ups for the pill, migraine drugs etc. Amazing. In fact apart from inhalers I am prescription free for the first time in many many years!

CazandBelle · 17/01/2011 16:37

ghost i'm hoping this is bacterial and not viral so antibiotics work!!

hey, its good that you've not needed the gp in such a long time! :)

I've found out the culprit for giving it to me! one of my pupils has been in hospital over the weekend with mild tonsilitis. I must've got it off her. (only I've got it bad!!) I teach in an SEN school so a lot of my kids are quite mouthy and like to share these things!!

will being ill stop implantation? I'm feeling so rough and a bit concerend that if there is a little baby there it will miss its chance because I'm not healthy enough to recieve it.

Ok I have to admit that I have no medical training whatsoever but I have never heard suggestions that brief illnesses like this get in the way of conception. Certainly hope not, and am sure you'll get much better soon. Big sympathy though, tonsillitis is particularly horrible. hands over tub of raspberry sorbet to make you feel better

And with that comment you just whizzed straight past my little zone of conception based knowledge! Um... sounds about right!

Wiser souls around here should surely be able to help...

Yeah most sites say 7-10 days after ovulation but I've seen a couple that say 6 too :)

hey muffins same here! Smile

caz am so with you re. the 2ww feeling so so long! Hope you feel better soon! I have a sore throat/glands up but nothing in comparison to how you're feeling!

ghost I'm also definitely an advocate of waiting until due date for AF before testing but am sorely tempted! Especially since I'm so bloated, sore with mild cramps and shattered! But I will wait...and really hoping AF doesn't come to visit at the end of the week!

Can I join? Trying for a 1st baby. I'm 3rd cycle TTC and reckon I'm 7dpo Bit hard to tell with irregular AF! but looked out for the ewcm. Was planning on testing this wknd. Got an appt with the fertility doc in 2 days tho cos of gynae history.

Had cramping all weekend and I don't usually get it this far before AF is meant to start. Feel bloated and tired too. No sore boobs. Don't know if I'm looking for signs that aren't really there or not!

Good evening everyone! Welcome BuffyFairy! I caved in today and tested Blush, obviously it was negative! I can't believe I tested because AF isn't due until next Friday, I don't know why I did it but I guess I was just hoping that I was wrong about my cycle since I have only had one period since having implant removed. Also I have had tender boobs and loads of bloating and some cramps, but I think they are all imaginary/things that happen anyway but I haven't noticed before. Hope you feel better soon Caz

Has anyone else had pain on their lower right hand side of pelvis? Like stabbing, cramping pains. it's been going on about 20 mins. Another thing to add to the list of imaginary symptoms!

Hi Ialabaloo, fingers crossed you'll get a positive result closer to AF due date. it's so hard not to test 'just in case' even when u know there's no point! :-)

Morning all...caz how are you feeling today? Hope the AB's have started to kick in!

Still struggling to reconcile the post holiday/Christmas weight gain but have lost a couple of lb this week...was reading the 'Pregnancy Bible' book that DH bought me yesterday and think it must've been overindulgence rather than PG symptoms casuing the extra weight - that's not supposed to kick in for weeks yet if I am PG! So, some careful but healthy eating required to get back in shape whilst keeping the TTCing going! And lots of SWI which can definietly be classed as exercise!! Wink

Countdown to AF/POAS now 2 days! Smile

thanks for asking blue i'm not feeling quite as sorry for myself as I did yesterday. throat is still very very sore, but I slept most of the night through which has made a difference to everything else, aches and pains don't seem as bad today - which makes it easier to cope with the worst pain!

DH also agreed last night the outside of my nipples looked bigger and bumpier, and just different to normal. so maybe I wasn't imaginging it. or maybe we're hoping to much...

oh muffins we're all as bad as each other!!! i'm getting strong AF pains, so i reckon she'll arrive this weekend as planned :( It's so unfair that the symptoms are so similar!!! On the plus side, both boobs are sore when normally before AF, i only get one sore boob!!! heehee!

More testing here. Can't stop! Is there an organization called POAS Anonymous? Because if so I may have to phone their helplineGrin

I'm imagining all sorts of things are significant. Eg had the worst headache ever last night and had to go to bed early. Also light headed episodes yesterday. Hungrier than usual too, and tired. I'm 8 DPO now.
