The resurrection of the 6th form common room for those inbetweeners who are TTC/PG after mc and are too long in the tooth to fit anywhere else

The resurrection of the 6th form common room, a place to put your feet up, wallow in self pity (me) or rejoice (and tremble in fright) at new growing beans and baybees after mc. No lists. No stats. No babydust. No feeling bad if you can't keep up.

Go.

I've namechanged for obvious reasons plus there's someone on MN who knows me in RL who I'd rather didn't know this bit yet(formerly known as the bouncing one).

I got to the scan this morning (after the obligatory long wait) and am lying there trying to do relaxing breathing and not look at screen when the dr asks:

"was this pg spontaneous or on treatment?"

so dh and I both say spontaneous thinking this is a routine question for their statistics since this is the fertility clinic. This is followed by,

"congratulations! you're having twins!"

ShockShockShock was apparently the look on my face.

I said before this that I wasn't going to believe I was pg until I'd seen it on a scan. I refuse to believe I'm having twins until they actually turn up - but I do believe I'm pg now Grin.

Congratulations Digi I really hope this is the one.

Mamapower · 01/02/2011 20:09

horragh for preeeeeetys bean Grin

Digi pre-emptive whoooooooooop Grin Grin

Izzy I def think you must qualify to be a sixth former... I am lost these days on the mother thread, lots of newbies and I just can't keep up with the pace!

Had my early scan yesterday 6+1 but because I ov really late, they could only see the gestational sac, but it's in the right place and they are re-scanning next Friday. Got a fine set of boobs blossoming, so am assuming that the hormones are doing the right stuff and that in turn is a comfort!!

Waves to all

clareanna · 01/02/2011 20:10

O M F G bouncer Amezzin! Speechless!!!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 01/02/2011 20:22

Woooo-hooooo bouncer what utterly fabulous news!!!! Grin Grin Grin. I'm not surprised you can't believe it - are you still waiting to see if you'll wake up? Grin

mamap I love the other thread and (sadly, but luckily for me) there are still a few "oldies" left but it's really hard to keep up, esp with the huge influx of (lovely) newbies over Christmas Sad. I'm still on there, just thought it would be nice to have a quieter place to come sometimes iykwim.

I keep lurking on your bfp thread to, just to keep up with you all - save me a seat!! [hopeful emoticon]

icantquitebelieveit · 01/02/2011 20:31

They offered me another scan in 2 weeks (but just for fun) which I declined and I have my next AN in 3 weeks (booked last week) so they'll probably scan me then and tell me if I need to come more often then I'd have to anyway since I'm already high risk.

Really can't believe it

notsobarrenmorebrokenbrook · 01/02/2011 20:40

Wooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!! Bloody marvellous bouncybeans!!!!! Massive smackers and congratulations to you and DH. Mwah! X

jollster - I think I prefer your name and have changed again. I would be Envy of me too.

I'm swinging between mad excitement and thinking higher risk of mc, higher risk of things going wrong, nearly dead cert for a csec now, how will I manage, when will it be impossible to hide and was lending all my maternity clothes such a great idea? (probably helped get me pg on sod's law)

youremindmeofthebabe · 01/02/2011 21:05

Oh my good lord bouncer that's amazing news! Twins is my ideal! God, there's so much loveliness Round here recently. Just on the phone, so will catch up later, but woooooohoooooo for pretty and bouncer!

Oh wow wow wow bouncer/tonythetyger that's berluddy amazing! Grin have a tear in my eye...

Thanks for all the little whoops and eeks for me too. V early days, but feeling good about it so far. By sheer coincidence the rmc consultant called me today with my remaining results. All fine. She asked if I wanted to make an appointment and I mentioned my little poas action this morning and she was very very positive and straightaway booked me in for a scan in 2 weeks. I know they won't see much as I'll only be 5+4 at the v most but really want to talk to her about the results and the care I'll get.

SameOldJollster · 02/02/2011 10:45

YRMOTB am on the fourth pair of size 8 wellies Angry. Shoes not so bad, but the wellies wear out in a flash. If only we could find children who brake with the other foot... ...

and a big hurrah Tyger double the fun! Nice to see Izz and Velvet here too x That was about the size of it!

tonythetyger · 02/02/2011 20:45

Thank you for all the good wishes.

Magic they think they're ID. They're in separate sacs but it looks like only one side ovulated. I may have spent some time lurking on the multiples topic last night but I think I'll leave it a few weeks until I feel quite ready to post. I still can't quite believe it.

When are you due? Also how quickly did you show?

Velvetcu · 02/02/2011 22:27

Hi cariboo I'm a bit lost as to where I should be so I think I'll gradually edge in here as I know more names here than on the other thread if that's ok with everyone!

notsobarrenmorebrokenbrook · 03/02/2011 11:16

Hello girls, just bumping us back up. Nice to see some new old faces from the super busy other thread , velvet, izzy, Bit more chilled in here Smile x

Went back for more blood tests yesterday at St Mary's, back in another 4 weeks for results. Unfortunately they can't fit me in until the week after for my hsg so I don't know how much difference that will make to when we can start trying again.

Did I mention I was going skiing on Sunday!?!? Grin 3 more sleeps!!!!

OP posts:
nickstermum · 03/02/2011 11:25

Envy @ skiing Envy :)

I desparately want to take DS as hes old enough to learn now... maybe next winter!

Have a wonderful time B, enjoy the peace & quiet and the wonderful mountain views...oh and take care!! xx

notsobarrenmorebrokenbrook · 03/02/2011 11:37

Cheers nicks. We're making the most of being able to go while having no sprogs to pay for Grin. Love seeing little ones on skis and boards, they look so cute and have no fear!

Nice to see you over here too!

OP posts:
tonythetyger · 03/02/2011 21:36

BB - my method of getting an earlier hsg was to ask if I'd get an appointment any earlier if I slit my wrists. She assured me I wouldn't but then called back to say she'd swapped around someone else's appointment so I could have it that month (ie 2 weeks later) and not have to wait 6 weeks for it. Be careful with this tactic though as if you get referred to psych it will just delay the process.
