The resurrection of the 6th form common room for those inbetweeners who are TTC/PG after mc and are too long in the tooth to fit anywhere else

The resurrection of the 6th form common room, a place to put your feet up, wallow in self pity (me) or rejoice (and tremble in fright) at new growing beans and baybees after mc. No lists. No stats. No babydust. No feeling bad if you can't keep up.

Go.

BB have a F A B time skiing! Enjoy that fresh air x

Tony so exciting! Are you having another scan before 12 weeks? ID twins can have separate amnio sacs but share the gestational sac & placenta (Monochorionic/Diamniotic). Mine are MCDA. All depends have many days after fertilisation the egg split, it's amazing stuff. I am 33+3 today, booked in for induction at 38 weeks as the twins are growing really well so they want to push for an extra week however they/I don't think I will get that far. General consensus seems to be about 35 weeks for id twins, have already had a little false alarm and in all honesty I am ready! I was showing quite early but also my 4th preg......was properly showing by 10 weeks. Remember you are doing double the work so REST whenever you get the chance. PM if you want to ask anything x

tonythetyger · 05/02/2011 20:58

Thanks Magic. I imagine they'll try and scan me at my next appt which is at 9 weeks. I'm trying not to get too excited just in case. But I'm still pretty excited despite the fears.

I hope your delivery goes well when the time comes.

SameOldJollster · 05/02/2011 21:12

ttt have been thinking about you (in a non stalkerish way!), and keep coming back to the fact you must be ON THE CEILING. I realise it's early days etc etc, but HOW BLOODY EXCITING X

SameOldJollster · 09/02/2011 11:00

Hey unbuffy they're all in the happenin' freak out room... the beanbags are more squishy and the snacks are better... Grin x

Unbuffy · 09/02/2011 12:44

Not sure i'd manage to get up from a squishier beanbag Smile Too much arse...

mummyabroad · 09/02/2011 14:00

I'll keep you company Unbuffy

Not sure how much longer I can keep logging on to the "JustMC" thread and see three new people everyday who want to know when the best time to TTC after mc is Confused Sad Sorry if that sounds harsh, but I've been on that thread 7 months now (10 months since mc) and I dont know how to get off it - Obviously I always thought it would be after a BFP and via grads, but it could still be a long time coming.

There are tons of people on there who I would miss too, but its really getting to me having to go over and over what its like in the first few weeks after mc. I quite like the fast pace of the thread too (am at the computer a lot)

So anyway, I am gatecrashing Grin

Tony big congrats! lovely that Karma has seen fit to bless you with two after such a long wait. Grin@

digitalgirl · 09/02/2011 16:00

((((hugs))) mummya bless you for feeling as though you have to give all the info to the newbies...you don't. Leave it to someone else. You are perfectly entitled to be a bit more selfish after all the wonderful advice you've imparted over the months.

youremindmeofthebabe · 09/02/2011 16:07

Ha, I wondered where you were today, mummya!

I totally understand, it feels a bit demoralising doesn't it? I suspect izz and velvet feel the same way too.

I second what digi says, you've been the oracle for ages. Don't feel you have to be.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 09/02/2011 16:30

Did someone say vodka?

mummya I'm getting lost on the ttc thread, and I completely understand how disheartening it is to be one of the few not moving on! Big ((hugs)) x

mummyabroad · 09/02/2011 18:16

Thanks Digi/YRMOTB/Izzy

I think I might have reached the end of the line with the just TTC thread, although I am torn because having watched that list for so darn long without being able to go on it (was stuck in WTTC for months while getting diagnosed/treated) I'm reluctant to walk away now that I finally have the chance to go on it. >

Perhaps I will just take a back seat over there and post more here - if I can resist the temptation to tell that nice new lady that its not a dip she should be looking for but a sustained temp riseHmm

Hi velvet I see you have already made your way over!

batteryhen · 09/02/2011 19:46

Hello everyone. Can I just come and sit sulkily in the corner for a while? I think I too am a bit of an oldie - Now been on MN for 1 year

Anyhow - there are some lovely vibes going round this thread and ~I hope they are catching :)

Will sit quietly in the corner and get drunk observe. xx

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 09/02/2011 20:06

I haven't seen you for a bit - I kind of fell off the Charters thread because everyone I knew at the start moved on and I decided to try not obsessing too much about temps this month. How's it going?

nickstermum · 09/02/2011 20:17

Mummy i know what you mean, you are there for everyone and digi is right you dont feel like you have to... others will help :) take a break from it. Im sorry that i havent popped by there much lately, xxxx But dont feel like you have to always be the one to give advice! We put you up on that oracle parapit because of your knowledge, but you have shared that around, so other people can now pass it on :) xx

Love the tumbleweed buffs the beanbags in the freakout room are shaped round my arse, so theyre HUGE but there are reserved stickers waiting for all the ttc'ers xx

miss you lovelies xxx

batteryhen · 09/02/2011 20:18

Hi izzy - thanks for the vino :)

I have dropped off the charters thread for the same reason really - but did post there today as there are a couple of people I still feel 'I know'.But actually I recognise more names on this thread xx

Am thinking of not charting from next month, but will see how I feel when the time comes!!

mummya you give such fab advice - but let someone else shoulder it for now xx have a well earned rest !

youremindmeofthebabe · 09/02/2011 20:28

Hey!
How are you nix? bit of a scare today? Glad alls well, must have been terrifying.

I think I said that last month bAttery but to my shame I can't stop tempingBlush

God, am knackered. This smeg is making me exhausted.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 09/02/2011 20:34

yrmotb I'm on the last of my 3-days-on then I can have a night off before last go on Friday - hurray! You're right though, it is exhausting.

I am definitely going to stop temping once I've got my crosshairs this cycle, it's driving me mad!! I have at least stopped temping every time I wake in the nigt then just picking the best in the morning Blush

. Glad you're ok, chica! You must have been so scared - put your feet up now and try and relax till Friday xx

CaribouMoo · 09/02/2011 21:01

Oh Mummy, what you've said I know I also felt, as did some of my other good chums. I was on the thread for 6 months before my first bfp, over 9 months before I got pregnant with this little one. It sucks the life out of you having to hear sad stories and at times you can end up giving platitudes, rather than heart felt advice. I think hearing about MC so often also de-sensitises you to the trauma of it a bit, its a shame.

I haven't even lurked on that thread for a while now because they are so many new folk, so in a selfish way, I will be glad to have you all here to keep up with your news. Although I would much rather you were in the freak out room or on the grads thread, where I'm sure you'll be soon.

Quite a dramatic day, which has happily ended well for Nicks and possible happenings for 8s!!!

CaribouMoo · 09/02/2011 21:03

oh and my sympathies go out to Izz and YRMOTB - sometimes HAVING to have sex is just so fucking tedious!!

tonythetyger · 09/02/2011 21:10

Mummy I know exactly what you mean and don't feel obliged to stick there if it's depressing you. About 2 months ago I went through all the threads from when I started (no. 2) to write down the lengths of all my cycles in preparation for a fertility appointment when I was going to try and convince them to give me clomid. I noticed that I went from really involved and cheery to gradually more and more lurking and depressed.

It's really offputting when everyone you started with graduates one way or another although one of them it was because she decided to stop trying and adopt instead. I only kept on the list at the end because I liked having a record of my cycle lengths and to look at the ridiculous number of cycles I'd been trying because otherwise I'd lose count. Do not emulate my example! I was thankfully the major exception to the rule on conceiving.

Thanks for the good wishes. Hopefully soon by you too.

tonythetyger · 09/02/2011 21:11

Oh yes and I didn't need the appointment in the end Grin. So maybe going through old threads is productive.

mummyabroad · 09/02/2011 21:14

Nix just read the other thread to see what was going on, you poor thing, that must have been so stressful. Very pleased you got to see your little eye rubbing bean though. xxx

moo 'ello. Hope you are well Smile Thanks for saying that, its so true about saying platitudes (or even worse copying and pasting them)Blush

Just trying to summon up the energy for my shagathon (CD9) Izz and YRMOTB are making me feel daunted by the challenge ahead Grin

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 09/02/2011 21:31

T I know what you mean - I started off all nervous and eager, then have gradually got more fed up with it, and now seem to be spending more and more time in Eeyore's Gloomy Place. I think it's partly seeing so many Sad mc stories and partly just watching everyone else move on! But in any event I need to just start thinking more long term about it and get out of the frenzy a bit...

I hope the beans are getting nice and comfy for you Smile

Ooh caribou exciting news re 8s - will be watching out for more news...

mummya take heart, my lovely, and summon all your energy. You will SMEG and it will be fun Grin

mummyabroad · 09/02/2011 21:33

forgot to say hello to Battery hiya mate. Smile

Cheers tony its nice to know its not just me.

nickstermum · 09/02/2011 22:00

Ah, feel like the gangs back together :) xxx yes hideously horrible teary day, not helped by wank a and e, but what a wonderful mw ! Having a few days rest and as long as the bean is ok and thriving, I'm happy :) x
