LISSIE I laughed so much at ur response I wet myself - actually not literally - a by product of not bothering with pelvic floor exercises & pushing out an obese baby.

ellangirl · 06/02/2011 09:13

Morning ladies, how's the gin fuelled hangover? I spent last night vacuum packing maternity clothes in a rage- they're going in the attic instead of on the wardrobe where they've been for ever.

I have actually responded to a couple of my friends asking when we're having another one with 'I'm bloody trying'- bit of a conversation killer! The only friend that's known we've been trying again all along has blotted her copybook by getting pregnant whilst on the pill even though she's got 3 and definitely wasn't going to have any more. FFS!

Actually though, I've liked talking about it- and it gives DH a break from listening. Draw the line at telling the bloody Inlaws though -they're utterly tactless when it comes to asking about having another one.

Hardandsleazy · 06/02/2011 09:21

Sometimes being honest best policy as shuts people
Up. Strangely I was just thinking about sorting and maternity and baby stuff too ellansgirl .

Head ok although dh has decided today is potty training day today... Wine may arrive earlier than normal.

And thanks for drink tips- over reading zita west (despite being told
By consultant MW that moderate drinking ok when ttc and drinking when conceived dd- in fact she was conceived on drunken weekend away) but I do Start to question everything.

bossyboop · 06/02/2011 15:31

Got to start charting bbt now, did this morning to try it out and just as well I did as af came early, think it must only have been a 25 day cycle so not sure how that affects things. I get ewcm for a few days mid cycle and sore bbs for the last few days before af so I feel something is working properly at least. Anyone know anything about short cycles?

Hardandsleazy · 06/02/2011 16:27

Not much but I know that it's not necessarily a
Strict 14 days from ovulation to period so that
At account for odd symptoms that don't seem to be at right time. Tbh I must have wasted too much time and money before I gave in and got a clear blue digital
Monitor that seems most accurate and least faffy of methods. That said I have been too fed up an half arsed to use it for a couple of months so it's sat In the cupboard .

bossyboop · 07/02/2011 13:10

Its all a bit pointless as you are supposed to have at least 3 hours sleep before taking bbt and take it before you get out of bed. Im up several times a night going to the loo and checking on dd who is poorly. So taken at 2 different times on both days so far, first one after 2 hours sleep and 2nd one after i got out of bed. But I did that thinking it was earlier than it was and that I could get back to sleep for a couple of hours and take it again but then dd was coughing non stop and so was I and we both had to get up. Will keep going as at least then im doing as im told by the gyn.

ellangirl · 07/02/2011 14:25

Hey all,
Saw my GP this morning who has arranged some day 21 blood tests, although I won't be able to go for a few weeks! She has questioned my history with DS birth and the fact I had a transfusion. Didn't think things like that could make a difference. The waiting list for fertility treatment is 6 months ish according to her, and she won't refer me until these results have come back, which will be a month or so. God I hope I just get pregnant instead!!
Have given up on the idea of BBT for bnow- I'm just not organised enough. Will just keep a diary of important bits instead!

NinjaChipmunk · 07/02/2011 14:57

hello,
ellangirl i'm just keeping a diary of important bits too. Glad to hear about the blood tests, good for you for going and I hope you get some conclusive answers (if thats actually possible)

bossyboop i don't think i'd manage to chart, sounds like such a faff!

I've decided to have a healthy month this month, mainly cos I've got piles and I'd like them to go! so less tea, less salt, less sugar for me and more water, fruit, leafy green veg and wholegrains. I wonder if I'll notice any difference? I'm going to do some yoga/ pilates as well I think. dp does sport one evening a week and once ds is in bed an hour or so of that might be quite relaxing/ good for me.

Pooch28 · 07/02/2011 15:37

bossy ellan - an acupuncturist/chinese herby bloke I'm seeing managed to persuade me to take BBT as well as he said it could explain a lot more than just when you ov. So I have been but you're right its such a bloody faff will continue for this month then giving up.
ninja have opted for the healthy option too, one can diet coke a day, lots of herbal teas, pilates, yoga, 'superfoods'!! Its been a struggle as I much prefer a diet of lard and booze but will let you know if it works.

Hello Annie, yes it has been a good find so far. The lack of babydust and tweeness is what I need. I can't do symptom spotting anymore as I don't think its very healthy for me and everyone here seems down to earth.
pooch I even had nuts and berries for breakfast, I wonder how long I can keep this up for?

a good swear is hard to beat, although I try not to do it in front of ds if I can help it!
may i ask are you up the duffer if you've just popped back on to say hello? That certainly gives a glimmer of hope.

ellangirl · 07/02/2011 17:09

Listening to your healthy talk makes me want to eat chocolate.
I'm in agreement with you Ninja- have been trying to not symptom spot but got carried away last cycle. Made it 10 times worse then when I clearly wasn't pregnant.

Pooch how are you finding the acupuncture? I was wondering about giving it a try- more for relaxation than anything I think! Need to stop being stressy...

broccolitrees · 07/02/2011 18:32

hello annie how lovely to see you!
how is your not so little bundle?
is dd1 all grown up now?
our dd is very grown up
glad you worked out who i am Grin had to do the whole name change thing as i accidently put my wrong email address in and emailed all my mn details to some random unknown. as you know, i tell me deepest darkest fertility secrets on here that i generally don't even tell my best friends, so had to namechange Blush
it really is good to see you. i have often wondered how you were and what you're about these days.
don't stay away so long next time, my friend (although, i do hope you don't have to come back here for any other reason than to say hi).

Pooch28 · 07/02/2011 21:18

ellan I had acupuncture with the only pregnancy I've had that's been successful so am a bit biased. But as am now part-time and skint paying nursery fees can't really afford it but having had 2 mc's ttc#2 so thought 'what the fuck'. Have only seen him once but it felt great!! The stuff he said about bbt, energy flows etc made more sense than anything my GP or MC Consultant have advised me. Have next session on Fri, same day I will be testing.
I'm in double figures this month with all my imaginary symptoms, have to keep slapping myself and repeating mantra 'you are not PG you stupid cow'. Maybe a bit harsh but get annoyed with myself obsessing about it! Have G,T,ice, lemon all ready for Fri night followed by bottle of chablis...

Pooch28 · 07/02/2011 21:21

ninja haven't tried the nuts/berries combo yet, if I did I think might turn into a squirrel and start running up trees. Grin

ellangirl · 07/02/2011 21:46

How much does it cost for your acupuncture pooch? If you get a bfp on Friday I'll be down at the acupuncturists pronto!

Pooch28 · 07/02/2011 22:03

ellan it was £25 for initial consultation and £35 for acupunc but was in there for over 2 hrs, he said next session would be @90 mins (at £35) so not bad. I try and equate the cost with what I'm saving on not boozing 2 weeks out of every 4! Even my mum who is the most cynical, anti-alternative medicine person in the world said she thought acupunc might have something in it...

Hey there gals!! Hope everyone is nicely numbed up on gin!

Hi annie!

I'm on the up of the TTC rollar coaster. SWI big time tonight as i got a smiley face on my OPK this morning. This rollar coaster is getting pretty crazy, so if there is no BFP this month it's gonna be one almighty downer!!

Pooch28 · 08/02/2011 19:50

Bisou was just thinking of having a big glass of G&T but am due to test Fri (which will become Thurs/Wed), am in an unbelievably bad mood and my boobs are hurting more than they ever have before so as I'm going to get a BFN should reach for the Gordons and drown my sorrows now. Sad for BFN Smile for gin.

OracleInaCoracle · 08/02/2011 20:56

annie! how lovely to see you xxxx are you well? hows everyone else doing? i am avoiding mn at the mo, but shall try to keep popping into the hut.
