At least it's almost New Year, new start Smile

digitalgirl · 14/01/2011 16:42

ifatfirst so so sorry to hear that Sad. if it's any consolation at least you know it was a blighted ovum which is a bad luck thing, rather than any other problem.

MrsP sorry for temp drop - it's days like these that you wish you could stop tempting after ov and just wait till AF is late.

Went to bed early last night and wondered if that contributed to my slight temp rise this morning. But am also feeling so on the verge of AF, am nauseas, even have cm - which I get just before. But only 5dpo! (and yes, have checked cervix in case I'm coming up to ov and it is still high but firmly closed for business). In some of my paranoid musings I have wondered if I am pg with an ectopic, hence early symptoms. Clearly I am as mad as a biscuit.

Truffkin · 14/01/2011 17:06

Franjam have just realised we are cycle buddies this month! I am 9DPO today and AF coule arrive from Monday (although my cycle is usually a couple of days longer so expecting any time from Monday to Thursday really) You inspired me to compare days on my previous charts and last month my temp started to drop from CD 25 (today) so hopefully as mine has stayed high today I am at least getting a decent LP this month Grin

Welcome Karbea and good luck with the charting. I record my temp and CM but am not advanced enough to do cervix checking yet!

Digi sorry you are feeling mad Grin but hope that you can make some sense of your ever changing temps soon!

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 14/01/2011 17:06

Thanks for your kind words all.

Yes, it is my second M/C although the first one was only at 5 weeks so was more like a period, this one has taken me by surprise with the amount of pain and blood :(

I didnt make it to my 12 week scan, that wasnt due until the 24th of Jan. I started spotting on Wednesday and had mild period type cramps so I knew something was wrong. Phoned the doc the next morn who suggested going straight to A&E where they did an external and internal scan. That's where they found the almost empty sac (there were some very small blobs at the bottom of it.

Now that I have thought about it, I have a small feeling that the bad cold I had at week 5/6 may have had something to do with it - my temp sky rocketed for two days.
Although, it may not and could just be one of those things.

x

Karbea · 14/01/2011 17:11

Terry here is mygraph hopefully you'll be a VIP now!

GetDownYouWillFall · 14/01/2011 17:24

IfatFirst try not to torture yourself, it's very unlikely your cold / virus caused this. I read somewhere that even severe colds do not affect the fetus. Only infections like toxo or malaria or serious things like that can cause MCs. I know this is not much comfort, but blighted ovums are just very bad luck and in no way your fault. Hugs.

spilttheteaagain · 14/01/2011 17:28

How are you feeling now If? Is the pain easing? I'm so sorry you are going through this. It's beyond shit and shouldn't happen to anyone Sad.

Welcome to Karbea and thank you girls for being so sympathetic to my sicky woes.

I really should bugger off and take my pregnancy complaints to the antenatal thread but I can't bear to step out of the conception camp - it feels like a vote of confidence I am not ready to cast!

How's GetDown - any more accidental temping or did you manage to stop on a high yesterday?

Battery if FF reckons Tues for you then you are in with a good chance aren't you? Hope you have a lovely weekend with DP.

digi I am baffled for you, what a weird cycle and set of symptoms. Really hope it becomes clear very soon as every single day of confusion feels long and limbo like.

nickstermum · 14/01/2011 17:30

IF I have said my thoughts to you over on the diffed thread, but again i am so sorry :( The similarities between your second and my first are striking. There were no blobs in my sac just fluid at the bottom, and i too had a virus with high temps for two days roughly 3 weeks before hand. I told myself it was a bad egg or something, and it just wasnt meant to be..somehow made it easier :(
Pat on the back for the positivity xxx

battery Grin have you not waxed there before? I usually have to get up on the old all fours... tis very embarrassing....Grin but worth it Grin

TerrysNo2 · 14/01/2011 18:40

Yay Karbea I just got 5 free days, thanks!! Smile Chart looks so new and fresh, can't wait to stalk watch it!

Gotta go sooth screamer

batteryhen · 14/01/2011 18:48

nix I have been waxed there before but everytime I go I am just as embarrased. Also she got a bit carried away and I wanted a little landing strip but have actually come away as bald as an egg you might say Blush.

Am feeling the cold somewhat Grin

MrsP81 · 14/01/2011 18:49

Thank you ladies for all your thoughts on my chart. I?ve been feeling very low today and even had some tears on the way home but you?re right, it?s not over until AF arrives. I don?t really have any signs that she?s on her way yet apart from the odd twinge, but not getting hopes up again.

I have waxing done too battery but it?s not been quite that thorough! Have a lovely weekend with your DP.

Welcome karbea. Smile

Good luck to all those who are on the 2ww!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 14/01/2011 18:52

Hello all

Sorry have been absent for a few days - just fed up of looking at my chart and waiting for something to happen. But anyway FF drew my crosshairs today I think it's drawn the coverline too high, but at least I know I'm in the 2ww now (or in my case the 7-12 day wait!).

ifatfirst I'm so sorry to hear your news Sad. I know how much of a shock it can be as you get further along, which doesn't help. I hope you're getting lots of RL hugs and support x

FX for everyone coming up to POAS time!

ochaye · 14/01/2011 19:15

Hello hello everyone! I?m still here ... I?ve just struggled a bit this week to keep up. I?ve been keeping an eye on you all but haven?t read every post. Plan is to get a smart phone soon so hopefully that?ll make things easier.

I can?t believe I missed out on giving someone free VIP days when I signed up to FF. How annoying!

Highlight of my week. I went to Edinburgh for a flying visit to see my big sister on Tuesday and on my way to the train station I got a text from my oldest friend saying she?d had her baby that morning (first baby and she?s 38). Guess what ? she?s in Edinburgh! So I got to go and see her when baby was only 6 hours old Smile. (sorry for the new baby story ... but my excitement was more about seeing old friend at such a special time).

I?ve tried to update my chart but for some reason FF has become unavailable half way through. My WTF cycle is true to form. It?s turning into a really long drawn out ... nothingness. Terrys, have I got the right thing on my link? I did change to my name but don?t have VIP so I?m not sure if it?s what you mean? How do you bookmark the charts? Just using Favourites? Brilliant news about your positive OPK?s, although I see you?ve moved on to worry and wonder about the next bit now Smile.

IfAtFirst, what horrible news. I think I?ve seen you somewhere before? I was northeastmummy. Was it on the antenatal threads? I agree with GetDown, there?s no way your cold affected things. It?s perfectly normal to feel like this when you?re rationalising things though don?t you think?

So that I don?t make this a ridiculously long post, I?m just going to do a MASSIVE WAVE to everyone else just now.

weimy · 14/01/2011 21:30

Hi All!

Hi if big hugs xxx

Welcome Karbea!

Battery Lol at waxing experience, I would be mortified!

I am waiting to see if I have ovulated, hoping for a temp rise tomorrow (I am a bit tired of SWI TBH!), then hopefully I will be on the dreaded tww.

:) x x

ochaye · 14/01/2011 21:50

Good luck weimy! I should be at the same stage but because of my mc I've no idea where I am! I know what you mean about the SWI Smile.

tory79 · 15/01/2011 09:06

MrsP I stalked you this morning - gutted for you, your chart looked so promising Sad
Also gutted for myself as my hat tastes disgusting!!

Am waiting for af to arrive today, temp dropped right back to coverline. This has been a longer cycle for me than the last couple so I'm a bit Hmm

xxx

tory79 · 15/01/2011 09:12

Also, does anyone know if a variable lp is anything to be worried about? Since I started charting they have been 15, 11,12 and now at least 14 if af arrives today. I have a note on ff that my lp varies more than would be expected.

TerrysNo2 · 15/01/2011 09:20

Morning all.

MrsP so sorry for you, CD1 is shite so hope you are having a nice relaxing day and being taken care of. Hugs to you.

tory I know nothing about LPs but sure someone will help.

My temp went up again today so fairly certain I OV-ed on Thursday, a bit annoying as that was the day I didn't temp properly. I hope FF will still pick it up, all other signs are there. Now the waiting game but I have no idea what to expect, short LP and usual cycle length, normal LP and longer cycle. Confused

Happy Saturdays all!

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 15/01/2011 10:05

MrsP oh so sorry. It is so crap, especially when your cycle has messed with your head and looked so promising. How mean to give you hope - I'd tell your ovaries off. Hugs and take care. Have a huge glass of vino tonight.

OP posts:
Pippaandpolly · 15/01/2011 10:24

Welcome Karbea and If-If I hope you get pg again soon, I can't imagine what you went through but I'm really sorry.

Am I silly to be hopeful? I don't even know how long my lp is as this is my first month of charting. Am NOT going to test! (ok, I might...)

spilttheteaagain · 15/01/2011 10:32

Too early to test pippa at only 8dpo. Implantation doesn't typically happen until 9-10dpo so there would be nothing to detect yet. Luteal phases are usually 10-16 days long so if you don't know how long yours is I would wait until at least 14dpo to test I'm afraid. Nothing worse than the BFN that you don't believe!

Good luck though, every reason to hope for now.

MrsP I am so sorry. How thoroughly disappointing. Hope you can have a self indulgent day and comfort yourself with goodies.

ravenlocks · 15/01/2011 10:34

Welcome IfAat. Like the others so sorry to hear about your loss - we are here when you come back to charting.

MrsP how crap of that trollop to arrive today - your chart looks to promising, just shows how our cycles can mess with our bodies and heads. Hope you get through CD1 ok.

Tee hee, yes we did go for it on the SWI front this month. It was a marathon, because I didn't think I ov'd until CD18 we kept going - notice we haven't done it since - having a rest! Do you all have lots of SFF during your LP? I tend to go off it. Hmm

franjam and triffin we are all cycle budies as I am on 10DPO today. How are you both today? No symptoms for me. I have had a bit of an emotional, stressful and busy week and so not been sleeping great. I woke up at 4:40am this morning and took my temp as I knew if I got back to sleep I possibly wouldn't sleep for another 3 hrs straight, but I think I might have, and took it again about 7:30am and then again at 8:30am (why did I do that?!). So obviously I have 3 very different temps, I went with my 7:30am one for my chart. My typical pattern is for my temp to drop slightly 11DPO and then 12DPO much larger drop before AF. So tomorrow's temp will be interesting and give me a big clue if AF on wat- if I can sleep!

pippa chart looking good, don't test quite yet though!

Welcome Karbea and hi everyone!

Pippaandpolly · 15/01/2011 10:35

Also my one giant boob has turned into two giant and very tender boobs. But am trying not to see this as a symptom as I do quite often have tender boobs before my period. Still, it's hard not to hope!

On a totally different note, for some reason at the mo I keep thinking about all those poor women in history who got divorced (or beheaded!) for not being able to have children. Quite apart from various kings maybe not having great sperm counts, maybe they were just doing it at the wrong time of the month?! It makes me sad.

GetDownYouWillFall · 15/01/2011 11:04

MrsP so sorry Sad It's gutting. Hope you are ok.

I didn't temp this morning - woo hoo!

(But I did POAexpensiveS Blush) It said 2-3 weeks though, so I feel slightly reassured. Those evil things never went above 1-2 weeks when I had my MC. Still not feeling very pukey but am just enjoying that for the time being. It's crappy the way a MC makes you totally paranoid Sad Never had any of this worry with DD.

Ah well read somewhere online yesterday that chance of a first MC is something like 10-15% but only 2% for 2 in a row. So that's good news.

Hope everyone is ok. Pippa sore boobs are a good sign, but don't waste a test at 8DPO, will be negative and you may still be pregnant. Good luck!

GetDownYouWillFall · 15/01/2011 11:06

Also pippa know what you mean about the women in history beheaded for not bearing children! Sad wonder how many of those it was the MAN that had the problem?

spilttheteaagain · 15/01/2011 11:12

Quite GetDown. I think it's a bit rich that the women were blamed for not bearing sons when we know that it's the sperm that decide the gender! Obviously they didn't know that at the time, but I feel so sad for those poor ladies Sad
