Booked in with MW today, witch wont give me an early scan :( however, good news is they are doing Nuchals on nhs from jan 1st so thats saved 180 quid (asssuming it sticks of course!) Started blarting when i sat and talked to her.... blardy hormones!!

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 16/12/2010 19:54

Get down - happy birthday lovely, how did i miss that?!

mousebacon · 16/12/2010 20:00

Aaaggh! No! There's got to be someone out there who's still got stuff to buy?!!

Can someone remind me to buy a turkey too? I'm cooking for the first time and I'm frightened I'll forget in alll the panic! Dooooooom!!!!!

TerrysNo2 · 16/12/2010 20:04

I've just been stupid. Just did another CB Digi - a week after I took my first one and got 1-2 weeks again. I've had a really shit day so was hoping it might cheer me up. Why oh why did I do this to myself. Sad

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 16/12/2010 20:09

mouse ring your local butchers and order over the phone!!

Terrys you are probably on the cusp of 2 weeks hence still saying 1-2. I have bought those but am going to take them back as they were 13 quid for 2!!

I have to take some antibiotics :( gutted. For this vaginal bacterial imbalance. Can cause mc in 2nd trimester, if its not already done it in the first. Recurrent thing i hvae already had abs for 3 months ago :( PG friendsly ones but even so.

franjam · 16/12/2010 20:50

iwish - the times that you're doing the tests may be why you aren't getting a result - apparently you shouldn't use them until late morning/early afternoon as that's when the LH is strongest in your urine.

As for the SWI, we get as much in as we can at my fertile time Blush. When we first started trying I used an ovulation calendar but it looks like the fertile dates were wrong as I ov later in my cycle than I thought (CD19) so I think we've missed a few windows of opportunity in previous cycles lol!! Was a bit difficult this month too as we've both been ill and DP was stuck up north in the snow for a few days.
I make sure I'm noting my CM as well as my temp and after 'doin the do' I get me legs up in the air.....sorry, TMI?!

What worries me is that the SWI becomes a chore and not an enjoyment but that hasn't happened so far! Fingers crossed!

Sounds like you're getting the SWI in at the right time so stick with it! The charting should give you a clear picture of when you're fertile so get as much in as you can at that time!

mouse - sorry to panic you more but my pressies are wrapped and in the loft away from prying eyes.....just got a couple of small things left to get. Like stnix I did most of mine online, it's so much easier cos I hate shopping Grin

mousebacon · 16/12/2010 21:06

Aaagh! You are not helping!

Sorry about the ABs nix I'm sure they'll be fine though, try not to worry.

terrys I'm sorry the test isn't saying more than that but nix is probably right about them just being on the change. When did you take the last one?

I have done a lot of shopping BTW it's just all the loose ends - love the idea of phoning for turkey - will sort that tomorrow xx

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 16/12/2010 21:50

fanjam we all did it!! Missed the opportunity... i mean. My first and third pg i fell quite quickly, second month, one shot. My second took 5 months as we were having sex round day 14 -16 of a 40 day at the time cycle! Charting sorted me out :)

mouse do your entire meat order for chrimbo then go collect on christmas eve :)

PinkCustard · 16/12/2010 21:56

Hi, hope you don't mind me popping in but I need some advice from expert Charters and this seems to be the place:

It's my first month charting but I've been using a CBFM for the past 7 months. I got a Peak reading on that on days 12&13 alongwith EWCM and the calendar on the TCOYF website is showing that as my ovulation, but I haven't had any hint of a temp riseConfused

The book says a small % of women just don't experience the temp rise, but are still ovulating, and the CBFM has detected Peaks at predictable points in my cycle every month I've used it, but I'm now doubtful.

One thing is that my digital thermometer keeps flashing 'Lo' and as I've lost the instructions I'm wondering whether the batteries are low and my readings are therefore inaccurate...I was so hopeful when I first read 'the book' and now I'm all confused and disheartened.

Does anyone have a clue what's going on??!

LadyGoneGaga · 16/12/2010 22:03

Terrys - did you do it with non-FMU, hon? Perhaps you had quite a dilute sample. Try not to worry xxx

Prob worth changing the batteries, Pinkcustard - it would be unusual to not see a temp shift. Even a slow rise still counts. Can you share your charts?

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 16/12/2010 22:36

Hi PinkCustard not sure about CBFM but they can be unreliable I've heard. I think someone else on here said there are only 2 ways to be sure ov has occurred - temp rise or scan (obviously not very practical!).

I sometimes get EWCM way before my ov date - it's as if my body tries to ov but doesn't and then it waits a bit longer.

And as a late ov (on cd24 and not yet - hoping for tomorrow), i feel your frustration - perhaps you are a slow riser like I am sometimes? It would be useful if you can share your chart.

Oh and mouse, yes all shopping done bar the food and that's coming via Tesco delivery on Wed. Not much wrapping done though.

IzzyWizzyletsgetChristmassy · 17/12/2010 08:18

mouse this will cheer you up: I haven't even started my Christmas shopping. Apart from presents for teachers which had to go in on last day of school yesterday. And my mum got those for me because I've been working late.

nix try not to worry, and see the antibs as a positive; at least they've picked it up early and can treat x

terrys cb digis are the work of the devil and notoriously unreliable. Have you been doing normal tests too and is the line getting darker?

Anyway I have a nice temp rise today which could indicate ov yesterday (which would tie in with opks and cbfm) or which could indicate that I went on the school mums night out last night and had a few sneaky glasses of wine...what do you think?

spilttheteaagain · 17/12/2010 08:27

Looks hopeful Izzy

terrys don't stress yourself, as everyone says the CB dates aren't reliable. Have a look at this table of HCG values and you'll see that there is a massive variation in normal levels. CB will be working on one assumed threshold that tips you from 1-2 to 2-3 weeks, and you may just produce the lower amounts of HCG. It also says there that the actual quantity of HCG is far less important than the rise/rate of change in the early weeks. So please don't torture yourself.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 17/12/2010 09:36

Morning ladies.

Terry stop stressing - bad for baby! Xmas Smile

Izzy I'm hoping to have joined you in the land of post-ov finally. Good news is, unlike my tortoise rise last cycle, this one (if it is a rise) is nice and clear.

However, also like you I had 2 glasses of wine last night whilst watching the Royal Variety show (btw, how fab are Take That - can't wait till 3 June. Hopefully, I'll be asking people to make way for pregnant lady at their concert Xmas Grin)

Ah well, back to work. Just a dusting of snow today which is good as I am snow phobic.

Chart here

Yay for the temp rise MrsA. I'm another one whose temp usually crawls slowly and reluctantly over the coverline so I sympathise there!

I finally managed to get TT tickets for 4 July when they released the extra dates - I had tickets for their original reunion tour four years ago then couldn't go due to imminent arrival of dd so am hoping again that it's a guarantee of updiffed-ness by next summer!

GetDownYouWillFall · 17/12/2010 12:05

Ahh terrys those CB digitals are bad news. I had exactly the same when I used them, still got 1-2 weeks when it should have showed 2-3 weeks. I am very sorry to say I went on to MC, but I read up loads of stuff saying that they are unreliable and loads of people that have had that happen go on to have perfectly fine pregnancies, so hoping that what happened to me, won't happen to you. Just try not to worry too much about it.

Glad to see your temp has gone up MrsA - just a waiting game now.

Mine are still pre-ov Sad and CM has dried up and gone back to pasty. Grrrr. Am not even going to bother wasting an OPk today.

Also was booked to go out for a birthday meal with DH tonight but babysitter has just cancelled Sad. So looks like we wont' be going after all. Ah well.

Iwish · 17/12/2010 12:53

franjam you made me laugh 'I get me legs upnin the air' so funny I do the same thing, I lay there with a pillow under my bum! :). My ttc buddy used opks with fmu and it worked for her so I thought I'd give it a try + 1 at 5pm. Oh well if I don't get a +ve this month but my chart shows I've ov'd I may not bother next time if we aren't lucky this time.
If I was a 15 year old myself and didn't use contraception I'd be pregnant! Sods law it would be. come on body sort yourself out!!

Welcome pink :)

Hi lady terrys and izzy Hope you are ok.

mrsa hope you OV tomorrow. :)

getdown I hope you OV soon too. Must be frustrating cm going back to pasty!

-ve opk again for me today and temps gone down a bit my chart

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 17/12/2010 12:55

pinkcustard can i just add, we refer to the CBFM as the Evil shag dictator on the TTC thread.....!! Says it all Xmas Grin

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 17/12/2010 13:03

Izz thats your best post ov temp rise yet :) and MrsA thats a cracker too :) Oooh hoping for a newyear bean for each of you x

Iwish and fanjam pillow right up under the hips and legs up for an hour, i swear by it. Kills the romance but helps the "greater good" Xmas Grin get yourself a book!!

getdown what are your usual cycle lengths? Mayeb your body is trying to ov but not succeeded yet?! are you stressing about it?

Izz that reminds me i have TT tickets for June in manchester but all being well will be 7.5months pg (god hoping it sticks) mmmmmm, what to do! would love to still go but they are standing! Will see! Maybe stick them on ebay nearer the time!

Feeling rather icky again today Xmas Grin and having a lovely home day as picked up DS yesterday from grandmas with a redhot temp! Fast asleep on the sofa as we speak...good old jungle book :)

Iwish · 17/12/2010 13:15

Hi nix so sorry I missed you out of my above post . How rude of me! Yeh been using the pillow trick for now 5 cycles lol, fingers crossed this is my cycle, if the flippin egg appears soon! How long were you ttc before you got pg? Glad you are feeling icky, bet it's lovely to have symptoms Xmas Smile.

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 17/12/2010 13:46

Iwish i was 2 proper cycles past miscarriage in august, so ttc for 2 cycles. When you are on the 2 WW drink loads of pineapple juice and eat brazil nuts they both allegedly help implantation!

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 17/12/2010 15:11

Nix I have chocolate brazils bought in for xmas - would they count? Xmas Grin Can't stand pineapple though.

I'm seeing TT in Manchester in June too, but could only get seated tickets. I'm hoping very much that I'd be glad of the seat by June! Come on swimmers, find the egg!

Hello

How is everyone - you are all very chatty today! I have nothng much to say really - my temps are still high which is good but I am only 7 days DPO :)

I love the chat about legs in the air - I get depressed when I can't hold them up for very long - I used to be able to when I was much younger!

I have a charting question - I normally take my temp at 6 am when i get up - however sometimes I wake at 5 is and just lay snuggled in bed until 6. So the question is -on the mornings I wake early should I take the temp then or wait till 6???

I am at work so will dash off - hope everyone is set up for Xmas - mouse have oredered most of mine on line so will have to see if they even turn up!x

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 17/12/2010 15:59

I was told to take it as soon as wake as your temp changes with awakeness but then i am a novice!! more experienced ones may say different?

Put the legs up against the wall batt, or even better do bicycle legs with propped up hips, help them on their way ha ha ha !!

GetDownYouWillFall · 17/12/2010 16:11

Thanks nix I don't feel particularly stressed about anything, but it did seem my body was gearing up for ov (with stretchy CM) and has now given up again Confused Cycles have been long in the past (i.e. anything up to 45 days) but the two cycles before MC I ov'd on CD13 and CD16, so was hoping they were settling down in to a more normal pattern.

Am CD17 now and not a single fertile sign. Arrrgghh. This is so frustrating.

Batteryturkey - I am the same as you, normally take my temp at 6am but sometimes I wake (or am woken!) earlier, and wonder whether it's ok to take it at 6 normal time (assuming I don't get up) or to take it an hour earlier. I've often wondered whether to take it at 5, then again at 6 and compare the readings. But have never quite been bothered! I think ideally it would be to take it at the same time every day but it's better to take it when you first wake up than lying awake for an hour and then taking it (I think).

I've got TCOYF from the library, hadn't realised what a chunky book it was! Lots of information to obsess pore over.
