Iwish · 31/12/2010 20:34

Hi mrsa I know, I noticed we both had the same lp this morning when both our evil witches arrived. We can both stalk getdown now since we are out.
Happy new year everyone! Hope 2011 is good for us all xx

weimy · 31/12/2010 20:41

Hi all

I'm thinking about charting, have ordered thermom and sticks to wee on but not sure what to do next? Not got a proper AF yet so not on day one quite yet.

Would really appreciate any tips/help :)

Ladybee · 31/12/2010 20:47

Oh ladies, just jumped on to stalk check charts and there's a lot of starting new cycles, really sorry, I hope this means that you're starting the New Year afresh and that all good things will come with the next cycle.

I've got a few more days to wait, going completely mental but happy enough that temps are staying up reasonably well. Might be on their way down now but there we go.

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 31/12/2010 22:08

((terrys)) I have been exactly where you are and its hard... take your time lovely...thanks for your Grin about the hb i really appreciate it especially knowing what you are feeling right now...

Hope to see you back soon, if you need to talk happy to PM Smile xx

spilttheteaagain · 31/12/2010 22:27

Welcome weimy.

For a charting intro I recommend watching these short videos on Fertility Friend (25 mins in total. It gives you the info you need to get started. You can register for free with Fertility Friend to record you charts and share them with us lot if you like.

If you want the in depth education then we all swear by Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler (£13 ish on Amazon). Fascinating book. But really, the videos are a good place to start so your get the basic points rather than bogged down in details.

Lots of knowledgable folks on here so any questions, feel free to just post them.

MrsP81 · 01/01/2011 10:55

Happy new year ladies and welcome to weimy.

Good to see you terrys, hope you're ok.

Sorry about AF iwish, hope you're feeling a bit better now its CD2.

My chart still looks daft, the crosshairs haven't gone away. And CM is practically non existent so don't appearing to be gearing up to ov. Ah well, better keep on with the SWI.

batteryhen · 01/01/2011 10:59

Well happy new year to all :)
We had a pretty quiet one last night so i am as fresh as a daisy today :)

Welcome weimy - I agree that fertility friend can really help you out when charting - lots of questions are answered in the help page - but ask any specific questions and one of us will try and help .

Iwish crap that AF arrived, I hope you are feeling better now. I think it was split that said if you fall pg this month then already you can count yourself a little bit pg - counting from cd1. I like that way of looking at it.

nix great news about tha scan :)

split - you never cease to amaze me - you always take time to stalk look at peoples charts, give advice and generally be lovely. Your bean is going to have a lovely mummy :)

terrys squish to you - glad to see you are plodding on ok xx

mrsa I am the wrong side of 35 too but still plod on regardless. Don't feel a fraud about going to your gp - new year - new babies :)

getdown wave to you my lovely :)

ladybee I can't see a chart for you - but are your temps still up??

ladyg - always nice to hear from you - you are our 'furthest' pg lady aren't you ?

Wave to everyone else - I know I have missed some xxx - sorry xx

Well Dp has nipped out so I thought I would do a quick update. DP goes back to germany tomorrow- we hope that he has some news soon that he should be back in the UK for good .I am on CD7 I think - my flights are booked to see DP next week - I should ov next sunday - fingers crossed.

2010 has been a pretty crappy year - I should have had my twins in October - but instead on their due date I was having an ERPC for my second MMC - what crap timing.
Anyway onward and upward. My blood tests have revealed I may have a clotting disorder so I am seeing the specialist in Feb, to see if I need heparin / aspirin when I get pg again.

My periods have been light since my ERPC - I had heard chomping on brazil nuts (yuk) helps? Has anyone else heard this at all ?
xx

spilttheteaagain · 01/01/2011 11:15

battery I've heard something about brazil nuts and cycles but I can't think what. I have a feeling it's selenium that they provide. Maybe google that and see if it comes up with what selenium does for you.

Like you I've been feeling quite reflective and sad about the year that's gone. For so many of us there's significant points and dates and in some ways it's very hard to move into 2011. No idea where that's going to take me, but it forces everything else into "last year" and makes it sound very distant.

Did they tell you what the clotting disorder was? Lady did some research on aspirin in preg so might be able to give you some info.

batteryhen · 01/01/2011 11:30

Hi split - my factor V has come back positive, and the consultant wanted me to have a load more tests before my appointment in feb. Everything else so far has come back fine, I was really surprised at the sticky blood thing, as I do a lot of flying - long haul too and never had a problem. Naturally now I am convinced I am going to drop dead from a massive heart attack. - Knowledge can be a dangerous thing!

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 01/01/2011 11:40

battery the brazil nuts are to help a bean implant. spilt is right re selenium. I chewed on packets this time!!

So sorry that you lost twins battery i wasnt aware of that. Twice the heartache :( Im so glad you have answers from testing though, is clotting quite easy to fix with aspirin or is it not quite that simple? I do hope so xxx have you hopped over to the recurrent buns site? Their knowledge is astounding. i think ladybee also knows a bit about Factor Leiden. Am sure she will be along soon :) Stay away from DrGoogle though Grin

One from me Thank Fuck 2010 is over and thats fab as it was shitty allround, not just from the MC. Heres to a happy prosperous productive BFP/Healthy baby new year to us all xxx

weimy · 01/01/2011 14:00

Hi all thanks for the welcome and info! I am now on cd1 (as of 3.30am!):)

LadyGoneGaga · 01/01/2011 15:18

Hi Battery I have family history of auto-immune conditions and have anti-thyroid antibodies which can cause clotting disorder too. They won't do anything until you have recurrent mc which I don't (but don't particularly want to lose another one to prove it) so decided to self medicate and take low dose aspirin anyway as had read that would be the treatment. So far so good. I think I have to stop taking around 35 weeks in preparation for birth.

I ate brazil nuts every day when ttc and also in early pregnancy until I went off them with the nausea.

Here's to a better 2011 for all of us

xxx

MrsP81 · 01/01/2011 15:29

Seems like a lot of us have had a difficult 2010 for one reason or another. Sad I hope that this year brings us all some happiness.

I think I may have ovd yesterday as I have sore nipples today Blush which is usually a good indicator for me. I think it fits with the temp drop yesterday too. Of course it may just be wishful thinking.

GetDownYouWillFall · 01/01/2011 18:41

Happy New Year to you all ladies Smile

I am so shattered today after not getting to bed till gone 1am then not being able to sleep, then DD waking us up again at 6:20! Arrgh. Hopefully a better night tonight though!

MRsP I am still not convinced you have yet ov;d as you haven't had any EWCM? But maybe you have, not sure?

LadyG I took some aspirin today (75mg) as I read that it can help with implantation are you supposed to just have one dose a day or is it more?

Welcome to weimy CD1 - a fresh start of a new cycle! Hope this is your month Smile

MrsA sorry as I say it's probably nothing, and your temps came up higher this last cycle, i just thought I'd mention it as some of your previous cycles look similar to the one in TCOYF where she talks about low progesterone. Just a thought that's all.

Waves to everyone else!

Pippaandpolly · 01/01/2011 18:59

Hi everyone, please could I ask a favour? My temps don't seem to be rising (apart from some random high ones) though I have noticed a bit of cm. Could someone just tell me that my chart looks normal?! I need to stop obsessing worrying about it but I don't really know what I'm looking at. Hopefully I will now succeed in providing a link...

my chart

Iwish · 01/01/2011 19:26

mrsp thanks I feel tonnes better today thank you. Had some wine last night, a winge to my ttc buddy (who is 15 weeks pg now) and a nice lie-in today :). Maybe see what FF says in the next few days about OV, I get the works before OV, sore nipples and boobs, funny cramps so you might be gearing up? Xx

Thanks battery you are right that Is a nice way of thinking about it :) I hope 2011 is a better year for you, sounds like 2010 has been pretty crappy. Xx

(((hugs))) for weimy! have your chocky and glass of wine, and a cry if needed, it makes you feel so much better xx

ladyg nix split pippa getdown mrsa hope you are all ok. sorry if I have missed anyone xx

Nothing exciting to report here. Very boring cd2, DP been looking after me and bless him has been looking on the Internet for anything he can take to help ttc - so far he has come up with zinc.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 01/01/2011 20:01

Hi pippa your chart looks normal to me - you've not ov yet, though think you might be gearing up.
The thing with charting is you can be cobfused one day and the next it all makes sense. Your temps may rise in the next few days - keep checking your CM.
Is this your first cycle of charting? What is your normal cycle and do you know when you normally ov?
I can have cycle lengths of 28 to38 days and have LP of 11/12 days so can ov any day from cd 18 to 28!

iwish cd2 here too. Very tired as I got up with DD today whilst DP had lie in. My turn tomorrow though!

Getdown thanks for comments re LP and progesterone levels. Not sure what to do really, I had noticed low temps post ov in previous cycles. Think we'll seemmif I don't conceive inb next 2 cycles, I'll go see the GP with my charts.
Anyone else got experience of low progesterone levels?

nix do brazil nuts really help? I'm taking ante natal vits so assumed all bases were covered nutrition-wise?

Sorry not to name check all. Too many but hello to you all!

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 01/01/2011 20:07

iwish have you googled marilyn glenville? she has some good pointers!

pippa you have a lot of temps that are quite similar in number which is firstly what i noticed,i dont think you have ov yet either... when i first started charting, and indeed after the first month it still looked like a hilly mountain range!! Other more experienced charters will be along soon no doubt!

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 01/01/2011 20:12

mrsA i took the following!

B-Vitamin complex to help cell division and hormonal balance following a mc
Extra fish oil, 3 6 amd 9 (3 caps per day)
Pregnacare
Probiotics
I took these for the 3 months leading up to conception, pregnacare for 12 months.

see link [http://www.marilynglenville.com/infertility.htm supplement info]

Pineapple juice and brazil nuts were recommended to my friend when she had IVF embryo transfer to aid implantation. PJ makes the womb lining sticky. Selenium in the nuts to also aid implantation. A couple of people i have noticed take lots more than this, plus zinc supplement!

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 01/01/2011 20:12

try again

supplement info

LadyGoneGaga · 01/01/2011 20:20

Just one dose a day, Getdown. It improves blood flow to the uterus which is how it works I think, and would help to prevent clotting around the placenta.

MrsA I also took Evening primrose oil in run up to ovulation (not after) and Vit B complex after ovulation. Plus Multivit and Fish oils. Rattle much, me?!

Iwish · 01/01/2011 20:33

mrsa we will be in the boring for a few more CDs yet together then. I have to say before OV is the most boring time of the cycle! Especially the 5 days of af.

nix flippin eck you rake a lot!! I had heard about pineapple juice so I bought some for my last cycle and did drink it just in case but didn't bother with the Brazils. I will have a look at the site and see what I can find out. Its amazing what we will do/take. Hope I am ok to take anything as I'm on thyroxine, I never know what I can and can't take with it, just taking folic acid at the moment.

Are cycles classed as irregular If they are simply not the same length every month? Mine have been 25-32. No reason for asking just wanted to know. :)

LadyGoneGaga · 01/01/2011 20:36

Iwish I'm on Thyroxine too. You need to avoid taking iron at same time of day as can impede absorption of the Thyroxine. I try and take my Thyroxine and my supplements at teatime to keep them seperate.

nickstermum · 01/01/2011 20:45

Iwish if you take PJ only for the second half of the cycle and grapefruit juice for the first half, you will be amazed what it does to your ewcm!!

nickstermum · 01/01/2011 20:46

PS it is I (nix) out of christmas costume!
