Merry Christmas ladies,
I seem to be more of a lurker than a poster on this thread, although actually I've been so busy in the last week I'd dropped off all my usual 'threads I'm on' because I hadn't posted on any of them.
I have been reading though and I just wanted to say to Terrys how sad I was to read about you starting to bleed and then get worse. It's such a horrible thing to happen and worse to have it happen on what is supposed to be a joy-filled holiday. All I can hope is that when you feel ready to TTC again you are successful quickly and that this time next year, if you don't have a baby in your arms, then at least are grumbling about not being able to drink
.
For me, the first MC I had was at 5.5 weeks was just like a heavy period, maybe a bit more painful and I had some clots but it wasn't bad. My second MC was discovered in a scan so had an ERPC and third was natural but a bit later on, about 9 weeks, and was much more painful (over about 6 hours), with one bad session of passing a lot of blood and clots and then just like slightly longer period after that. Sorry about all the detail but it just shows that it varies for everyone and you've just got to take it as it comes. Look after yourself, take the painkillers if you need them. If you're filling more than 1 pad every hour or feeling ill/fluey/temperature then get yourself to a GP or AandE to be checked for infection.
My EPAU leaflets said no sex for two weeks after the bleeding has stopped to ensure no risk of infection. If the bleeding continues on for a very long time, or you get any bad symptoms (fever, aches, or unpleasant smell) then, again, go and get checked for infection. I really hope this passes quickly and as easily as possible for you, so that at the least the physical side of it isn't too difficult. The emotional side is a different matter, so take your time with that. It's a lot of disappointment and loss to deal with and getting back to TTC afterwards is not always straightforward.
I'm 4 dpo today - somehow ovulation crept up on us in the middle of all the christmas prep and mad finishing up at work. Did manage to get some SWI in but not as much as would have wanted - anyway, we'll see how we go, I did say I was taking it easy over Christmas anyway so not too bothered.
This hasn't stopped me symptom spotting already though, had sore left boob (yes, just the one side) yesterday and woke up sooo hot in the night last night. I was expecting to see my temperature through the roof this morning, as I'd had to get up and switch off heating, drink some water etc. And I honestly didn't drink that much champagne yesterday.
However, have had my traditional 4-5 dpo dip today so hopefully temps will head back up now (and of course, hopefully stay up for a good long time).
Izzy I hope that spotting isn't AF.
GetDown took me ages to find your chart, but if your temp goes up tomorrow looks like there's a good chance you ovulated on Christmas day, hope that eggy was a nice present for some lucky swimmer
Merry Christmas to all once again, especially those I haven't namechecked.
