According to CBFM I didn't ovulate this month although all the signs were there. The M symbol started flashing four days ago and so far all I've had is two days with a very light brown when I wiped and a couple of days with a few tiny specks of blood in the mucus. Plus a couple of days of specks around the time I should have ovulated and when implantation should have happened. No period. Two BFNs.
If the monitors right and I didn't ovulate then is this my period? I've never had this happen before and I've NEVER had a light period so don't know what to expect. Help!

tillydream · 27/02/2011 12:22

Keziah Many apologies, I forgot to update my stats! I'm on CD 7.

Amuminwaiting When my CFM didn't show Peak then my period was late by about 5 days although I had spotting before this. AF did arrive though and 'flow' was normal. What CD are you on now? Sorry to be of little help - hopefully the others will know more.

Tilly xx

aMuminwaiting · 27/02/2011 16:24

I'm on CD37 (thought I was a few days ahead of that but double checked the monitor today). I had another tiny bit of very watery brown today. I did a HCG test and the faintest of lines started going up to make a cross (clearblue test). So faint that I had to drag my DH to the window and get him to hold his head at a funny angle! He did see it though after first dismissing me as mad. He thinks its probably an evaporation line.

I'm going to wait a couple more days and try again if my AF doesn't show up. I keep thinking back to my other pregnancies and the first time I recall thinking my period was going to show for ages because I had spotting and light brown when I wiped but it never did. And my stomach was bloating and I had AF type cramps. So my fingers are going to be very much crossed!

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 27/02/2011 16:41

Fingers crossed for you aMuminwaiting.

The problem with the symptom spotting, is unless you have been some kind of hawk eye before TTC then some of the symptoms have probably always been there, just you never look at the wipings etc! (TMI!)

FX x

FX muminwaiting, hope it turns out to be a BFP for you.

keziah how's things going? When is your scan?

Has anyone heard from lychees? Been thinking of her. . . .

Hope everyone has had a nice weekend, I'm off to bed with an Ovaltine, rock & roll! Wink

Keziahhopes · 27/02/2011 20:09

Things going ok with the injections... and I think having a month off ttc normally is also a hugh relief, as it has been so stressful with dh that due to injections I feel that I have got a legitimate break (well it has been 30mths of intense ttc!!)... scan on Thursday, 8am!! Grin - then I hope to have a thin womb lining and no follicles.

StormBird · 28/02/2011 08:55

stormbird lurks in the shadows!!!

Fingers crossed amuminwaiting and good luck with your scan keziah

Loup23 · 28/02/2011 10:47

Thanks for update keziah i'm on CD 33 today and no AF as yet, had spotting yesterday morning but nothing since and temps still high so hoping but getting BFNs and now DPO 15 so am thinking it's unlikely Sad.

I have been using internet cheapies to test, has anyone else used them? I've read mixed reviews about their reliability (DH thinks i'm looking for a reason to buy different brands of tests as i don't like them showing me BFNs Grin)

Good luck muminwaiting hope a BFP comes along.

boba82 · 28/02/2011 11:37

Glad things goig well keziah, good luck for Thursday.

loup Sorry about the BFNs, I don't think the brand matters hun but if you prefer to use a better known brand then you should. Maybe leave it a few days then try again? x

OP posts:
aMuminwaiting · 28/02/2011 11:52

I did two tesco pregnancy tests today with the pink dye because I read the blue ones can bleed and give false positives. They were both BFNs. The tiny amount of brown when I wiped has gone completely now. I just want to know what's going on! Tried to see my GP but my dumb ass surgery only takes bookings on the day and never answer their phones in the morning so by the time I get through she'd booked up.

boba82 · 28/02/2011 12:15

Sorry to hear that muminwaiting, hopefully you'll get to see the doctor and sort it all out. x

OP posts:
chocciechip · 28/02/2011 13:57

amuminwaiting My GP surgery had the same system, and the only way we could beat it was by queuing outside the door before they opened and rushing to make an appointment at the desk. It usually worked, but the queues got so long they changed the system again and it now has to be an emergency or at least a 3 week wait to see my GP. I now by-pass appointments by writing to my GP beginning with the words: "I've tried to get an appointment but...." then telling her what's wrong and asking what I need to do. I'm quite often not sick, but just need advice and waiting three weeks is silly. She does write back, so I think it works for her too. Might either of these methods work for you? I think you're wise to wait a couple of days before testing again - I really hope you get a positive result.

keziah Good luck for the scan. I'm very excited for you!

loup If you've waited for at least 14 days minimum after ovulation then I think most brands will probably give results. But some people have slow rising HCG levels, and the brands promises are based on averages which is why its never over until AF comes. I got BFPs on the cheapies as well as the others, although cheapies never gave a strong line - and I have NEVER got a BFP before 14DPO no matter what the brand promises. I would keep testing every second day - using FMU - until AF comes (and I hope she doesn't).

Loup23 · 28/02/2011 14:40

thanks choccie i bought a first response today so will wait for FMU tomorrow and test again (unless the AF gets me first!). Even if she does, the one good thing this cycle has brought is a longer luteal phase, which I can only put down to B6 and angnus castus!

Fx and good luck to all those on the 2ww x

Loup23 · 28/02/2011 15:32

Oh I caved and did the FR at work.... faint but definitely a BFP! I can't believe it.....

I had a little spotting yesterday AM (tmi) so hoping it sticks. Grin

chocciechip · 28/02/2011 16:59

loup Wow, congrats! Grin

Lychees · 28/02/2011 17:39

Popping in to wish Keziah luck.

Thanks for the shout outs, Boba ... I hope that you and bump are keeping well.

I'm due to test this Wednesday following our second IUI attempt and although I'm not feeling too hopeful, I'm keeping my spirits up. Have not decided what the next step will be if this one fails .... will have to wait and see.

Still using my CBFM, this cycle I got highs and then my first peak on CD12 and I got basted on the second peak so timings were definitely better this time [last time, no highs, no natural LH surge by CD20 so had to have a trigger shot and was basted on CD22].

Congrats, Loup and Clockspotter.

All the best to everyone else.

Hi Lychees good to hear from you - fx for you!

And loup very excited for you!

Keziahhopes · 28/02/2011 18:51

Congrats loup. All the best lychees - the highs sound good for this attempt.

As for me, suddenly hit that this cycle unlikely to work - the mood has come from nowhere, but have lost all my positivity now.

Loup23 · 01/03/2011 07:21

Popping in to say good luck for lychees on weds and keziah on thurs for the scan.

You girls have been great so would like to stay here if that's ok? (and god forbid the worst, I'll be back on the cbfm if anything happens and I know this would be the best place to get support for that)...

X

aMuminwaiting · 01/03/2011 12:28

GP said there's no sign of my period coming. But with two negative tests yesterday she's not convinced I'm pregnant either. So I have to wait until next Thursday and see her again if it still hasn't come.
I did a test stick from the CBFM today (been banned by DH from getting anymore HCG tests until Tuesday) and it's come up with a very strong line on the wee end of the stick (tmi?!) and almost as dark on the other line. Even when I had high days and peaks in the other months it wasn't this dark.

What's going on? Am I ovulating again?! Should I call my DH and drag him to bed?!

chocciechip · 01/03/2011 14:21

amuminwaiting When you say 'test stick', do you mean an 'ovulation predictor test' stick (OPK), which measures for your LH surge? If so, I believe that an OPK will give a positive response in the presence of HCG (pregnancy hormone) as well as a positive result in presence of LH. So its telling you one of two things: either you are pregnant, or you have high LH in your body. Note that a pregnancy test will ONLY give a positive response in presence of HCG, so this remains the only way to rule out uncertainty. amum - I know this because I did this last year, accidentally used an OPK thinking it was an HPT and I spent half a day thinking I was pg, getting DH's hopes up as well, before realising my mistake and finding out via an HPT that I was not. It was devastating. But if AF still doesn't come, and you don't get a BFP on an HPT, then you should mention to your GP next week that you had high LH at the end of your cycle. It may or may not mean anything ... in my case it meant nothing and AF did eventually come. I'm sorry this still leaves you with uncertainty.

lychees Fingers and toes crossed for you for tomorrow.

keziah Have you been offered counselling as part of the process? You're going through a lot, and the stakes and hopes are so high it is understandable that you'll have bigs highs and equally big lows as you go through it. Is the cd any help at all? I'm keeping dh posted on your progress and we're both rooting for you. Hang in there, you've moved mountains already.

loup It is a great thread .. and if you find you have any pg related questions you can find us all over here on what is turning into another great support thread too. Smile
