By hook or by crook we will shag our way to victory - thread for the JSing viroids

Miffles · 19/11/2010 17:18

The (updated) (again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you?ve had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

quick post, still alive Xmas Grin off 2 watch film and de stress with dh, speak soon xx

santababy2b · 17/12/2010 19:34

Glad you are ok Josie, hope you have a lovely evening with your dh.

My DH will be coming with me next week as he finishes working on the Wednesday and I'm not letting him go abroad again until after the new year.

Miffles I completely sympathise with you. My DH is really fussy about excess hair. Even if my legs are just starting to get hairy he makes chewbacca noises Blush, which does not make the moment! I'm not sure if we have discussed this before but I have moved from getting my eyebrows and lip waxed to having threading instead. It hurts like f@ck, but less prickly when it comes back.

pmsl at singingmog with her kipper and ninja moves...Mr Miffs beware Angry!

JosieSmith1 · 18/12/2010 09:56

That's fab that ur DH can come with u 2 next scan SantaB2B

Miffles my DH has a beard and moustache so he's very prickly and the only time I complain is if he kisses me and hairs tickle my nose! Mog u shud definitely kipper Mr Miffles in a ninja style Xmas Grin

SnowMiffles · 18/12/2010 10:17

Thank you - I thought he was being unfair and the thought of Mog attacking him ninja style with a kipper has certainly made me smile. Xmas Grin

Off out to get waxed (!) and potter round the shops. Snowed a bit down here.

How much have you got up there, NoMore?

Gotta go - more later. x

escapeartist · 18/12/2010 10:47

Have been lurking since my 5 am post (to be fair, I am in a different time zone, so 5am was actually 7 and almost 2 hours after I got up, so not crack of dawn for me)... but keeping a-pace with developments. Mr Miffles is being unfair for sure, but I do wonder how is everyone else's DH coping with the (occasional?)sex on demand? Mr Escape seems to be enjoying it, but then is no always too happy to JS when we are not trying to make little escapeartists.... Weird? I think so...

Have had quite the week, as last week of term. On top of that I broke my foot(!) on Tuesday whilst running, it hurt but I didn't think much of it, then ran again on it on Thursday Xmas Hmm and ended up in hospital Friday after school. Had a long conversation with the x-ray man as to if I could be pregnant or not, which actually upset me. What is wrong with me??? Now "resting" for the next few weeks, which might just drive me crazy (or to alcohol). CD11 (but had to check as trying to maintain a relaxed attitude) and feel good about this month.

Mog so funny... do you specialise in kicking DHs behinds ninja style? Might need some this way Grin

Vallinna how's the 2ww going? Fingers crossed and thumbs held.

Josie phewwww... Not sure virtual first aid would have worked so well Confused

Taking my broken foot and going for a swim in an effort to ignore the piles of chocolate I was given from pupils. I know I will succumb eventually though...

vallinnapod · 18/12/2010 11:11

I grrr at Mr Miffs with the rest of you. Men can be complete twunts sometimes!!

Escape no issues with the 2WW...possibly because I have never been on it before so maybe that helps, and the fact it has taken sooooo long to get to this stage that 2 weeks is bugger all Wink

Lab called this morning and I have 2 good blasts to freeze so we are going ahead with that - they'll probably just stck them on the window sill in this weather. So....little disappointed there were only 2 BUT very happy we know I can get them to blast stage so fingers crossed for my 2 hibernating ones Grin

It's Christmas Day with my Dad today (divorced parents - I STILL love that I get 2 Christmases!! They were clearly far too amicable!) and it's a white Christmas! And I am finally a little less bloated. And I got 7 hours sleep (about the combined total of the past 2 weeks!). Oh happy Christmas!!

Hope you all have a lovely w/e

Huggles to all x

vallinnapod · 18/12/2010 11:13

Forgot to say to all my fellow horsey buddies - Olympia was awesome. So much fun xxx

SingingMog · 18/12/2010 11:58

Hiiii yaaaaahhhhh!

Escape I too am avoiding eye-contact with lots of choco pressies. Did get given a box of Choc Organge segments which I have been considering eating for breakfast (I know it's totally bad for me, so am resisting). Poor foot! Hope swimming is OK. That'll teach you for going runninng Wink. Actually just jealous cos I'm not allowed to go running since was in a car when it rolled over a few years ago. Keep occasionally trying it, but then it hurts so I stop!

Vallinna two hibernators! That is great Xmas Grin. Glad to hear you've got some sleep and are feeling less blobby.

Josie hope you enjoyed the film. What did you see?

My DH not back from his work night out and the snow is falling here (was staying at his friends then driving back)... a bit worried but motorway only closed to the south of us (so far) which won't impede his progress. Not that he has set off yet. Prob playing PS3 with his friend (he took it with him)!! Might practise my ninja-ing on him when he gets in Grin.

Cat is going totally crazy (due to snow?) and keeps trying to attack the tree and baubles, then running the length of the house as fast as he can. Maybe this is where I get my ninja influences from?!!

Hope everyone has a nice day xxx

Truffkin · 18/12/2010 18:10

Hi Viroids and firstly am with the others Miffs that your (not so) DH was totalyl out of order with that comment! I would have initially been very Shock and then sulked for a while I think!

Escape sorry to hear about your foot, but good for you getting on with things and not letting it bother you.

Vallinna So pleased you feel better, let's hope this is the start of a blooming pregnancy! I'm with you on the two Christmases as well, we always had Christmas Day with my Dad and Boxing Day with my Mom. Now I'm married we have Christmas Eve with my Dad, Christmas Day with my in-laws and Boxing Day with my Mom so now I have three!

Josie glad you were not murdered by the evil nut! Hope you had a good night out with your DH, what did you go to watch? The last film we saw was Harry Potter, which I loved.

Mog hope your DH is home safe and sound now

We've had loads of snow today (I was out when it started this morning and the bus couldn't get down the hill, was just sliding everywhere so I walked home and looked like some sort of abominable snowperson when I arrived back!) so didn't make it to Brum for our night out. I'm disappointed not to see everyone but am quite happy to have caught up on wrapping, finished writing our Christmas cards and am now getting ready to watch the Strictly final with a nice glass of wine before wandering up the road for a curry for dinner. Luckily we live within walking distance of good restaurants and pubs so won't starve if we're snow bound for a while longer Grin

SnowMiffles · 18/12/2010 18:33

Right - I'm back. We went out at 10.15 for my wax and to do some shopping. Whilst in Asda the snow came down and it was CRAZY!!!! Cars backed up and stationary out of town, so eventually stopped at a friends house, brought some food in from the car and had a late lunch and glass of wine at his! Made it home once the roads had cleared, but so icy was v v scary. DH misjudged a corner and we crashed into a barrier, but it was only slow. My old car now has a few more scrapes, but at least no one hurt.

And he's planning on us going back out to a friend's wine evening tonight. He's been looking forward to it. Were planning on getting a taci back, but none running, so we're meant to walk. Hmm...

Anyway, forgiven him for his mean comments. Truffkin I was Shock and Angry and [shout head off emoticon]. Then {sulked like a good 'un emoticon]. Then forgave him. TBH wanted a kiss, so had to give in!!

Love the sound of your evening truffkin.

Mog - DH home yet? And Escape poor you on your foot. That's really rotten. But yay for resting over Christmas! I think my DH is the same - performed well for the necessary time and now considers this a well earned few weeks off!!!!

Vallinna - great that you slept and not feeling like Mr Blobby. Long may that last. 2 is good to freeze - surely if your 2 current pods don't take they'd only ever put another 2 in anyway.

No more sore boobs today. But not ruling myself out just yet. Bit disappointed though. Mind you - we have so much alcohol in the house, wouldn't mind waiting a month! Also if I was, according to my calculations, due date would be 1st Sept - bit too close to the start/end of school year for my liking. Mog why was your DH worried about that? Is it cos it's best not to be the youngest in the year?

Love to all the other viroids, lurkers and non-lurkers!

SingingMog · 18/12/2010 22:24

Yes Miffs, that is what he's is concerned about. Also think if I were to give birth in the 1st week of Sept then I would have to start mat leave in July when break up, which would be bad timing money-wise. Though I have now moved more towards the "get trying it might take a while" mind-set! Plus have nephew who is one of the youngest in his year and he is doing really well (he's in infants).

Thanks for asking about DH's return from the dark side (Blackpool on a night out!). He arrived back at about 3pm ish. Took him a few goes to get onto the drive tho due to snow!

Miffs you are right, can't rule it out yet. Have a glass of wine to calm yourself after the car crash. Wink

Truff your bus journey sounds terrifying, they don't mix with hills at the best of times.

Vallinna watched some of the Olympia thingy on the TV by accident today! Got quite excited by them jumping the wall, but didn't really understand what was going on Confused.

NervousNelly · 18/12/2010 23:58

OFFS on my third attempt to write this. First was ok, second was nearly done. Can I face trying again?

Maybe I'll post in stages. The brief version.
Miffles your OH was being a knob. Apply kipper at will.

vallina sooo jealous - how was the shopping??!

Mog it's a big wall that you have to jump without knocking any bits down (they're called bricks but they aren't really brick!). Each round the wall gets bigger - the winner is the one who clears the biggest wall. It's basically the high jump on steroids Wink.

OK going to post before I lose this, then will continue!

NervousNelly · 19/12/2010 00:47

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Just spent about 15 fucking minutes writing part 2. Was making a final ?edit? and managed to lose it all AGAIN. FFS.

Anyway, what I said was this, basically:

Today was a weird day. It?s a year ago today that a very close friend died of cancer. I?d known her for 25 years, and she had (has) a 3 year old son. I think about her a lot, but particularly today of course. Strangely, OH knew her too, but completely independantly before we met. We were both devastated by her death. She was a real foodie (owned a restaurant and her OH is an amazing chef). So tonight in her honour we?ve eaten amazing steaks for dinner, drunk a couple of bottles of top red wine (and watched Elf on Sky plus but that was just for Christmas Xmas Grin). I think the really poignant thing for me is that it was probably her that tipped the scales on our TTC journey. On our last big night out (just after she?d fought and won her first bout against the Big C) we got into those deep conversations about family, life, existentialism etc! She was talking about surviving her cancer and doing it for her son, and about how she thought OH and I were so loving and soft (her words not mine!) so should stop procrastinating and get on with having a baby as we?d make great parents Blush. So safe to say, whenever I tear OH away from Family Guy Star Wars, we?ll be crawling upstairs to do our best Xmas Smile. Sorry for the sad post ? but it makes me angry and I miss her Sad.

In funnier news, I somehow managed to persuade OH to do the bedtime check on the horses tonight. They needed hay and water, so he was topping up one of their water buckets, when the cheeky minx realised the stable door wasn?t fully bolted; so when his back was turned, she snuck out and went for a wander around our house and into the garden Xmas Hmm. He had to bribe her back in to her stables with sweeties Xmas Grin. I think it?s a typical male tactic to Not Be Asked To Do That Again. Won?t work though ? he clearly just needs more training!

Right bed and JSing beckons. So much for my early nightXmas Hmm.

vallinnapod · 19/12/2010 10:00

LOL mog! The reason we always go on the Friday night to Olympia is because DH is non-horsey so when he first kindly offered to tale me in the first flushes of our relationship I wanted it to be as fun as poss for him. A wall that gets bigger everytime they all clear it with the possibilty of crashing through it really appealed to him Grin Nelly shopping was good but it's totally different being horseless! Very busy too! Got myself a lairy pink souvenir hoody and fleece hat for running and some thermal socks for slobbing! Wanted to get some jewelery for my Ma but the damn woman got there just after i did! for those interested there are loads of highlights on Eurosport and the BBC have the FEI qualifier on this arvo Grin

nelly what a lovely way to honor your friend's memory (both your evening and babies!)

Sounds like the snow has been crazy for everyone. It started just as my Dad picked us up. We didn't leave until 1am but still couldn't get a cab. We went to walk but thankfully got straight on a bus! Lots of gorgeous food, I even stuck to all low GI [smug] the quantity of turkey, sprouts and bread sauce was quite outrageous! And of course, seconds (and thirds!) This wa a tactic to, err, 'move things along' but still only minimal improvement. I look about 16 weeks gone. I don't really mind looking bloated (nearly convinced myself there) but it's so damn uncomfy! Am venturing out to buy Fybrogel by the case as Senoket is not baby friendly apparently! Sorry, a nice TMI share for first thing!!

JosieSmith1 · 19/12/2010 10:02

PMSL Nelly Xmas Grin DH has done my horse past few mornings but she's at a livery yard a while away so if anythin goes wrong he's got plenty of help. She slipped quite badly on the ice yesterday so I'm prayin she's not lame like last year, and she managed 2 kick me at same time so I've got a huge bruise on my thigh [completely fed up with shit weather emoticon]

Vallinna I'm sooooo jealous of u goin 2 Olympia but hope u had a faaabbbb time! Best of luck with 2 beans and hope the 2 on standby aren't needed.

Just stayed in house 4 film on friday, watched cop out, some comedy with bruce willis, was ok, have seen better, but took my mind off things and made me laugh at least

Just a quick catch up sorry, still in bed Xmas Blush but really waitin 4 DH 2 get home so we can start shag-a-thon that he pinky promised we cud do this monthXmas Grin

JosieSmith1 · 19/12/2010 10:07

Sorry Nelly, had every intention of sayin I hope u r ok and I'm sure wherever ur friend is now she'll be honoured that u remembered her in a way she would have loved

NoMoreSnowPlease · 19/12/2010 10:11

Just popping in to say no snow here GrinGrin so keeping name changed until I manage to get away next week (which is looking unlikely as inlaws snowed in yesterday and snow forecast for day we're looking at going!)

My hip is recovering slowly, thanks everyoneb for kind thoughts. I was sick in bed yesterday (had what DS had on Monday), so that has helped hip. I must remember to wear my belt when I go anywhere.

Sorry about your sad night last night NN though good work remembering your friend in such a lovely way. And haha at your am I still drunk? post and naughty horsey.

Vallinna hurray for 2 little frozen backup vallinnapods.

Sorry for those I've missed. I won't hug you all as I haven't cleaned my teeth yet. Smile

Eskarina · 19/12/2010 12:10

Checking in to say hi! will scroll up and read thread in a moment.
We had our little christmas with my ILs yesterday(we're spending next weekend with my family). It was only supposed to be a quick lunch trip (they're only a 45 min drive away) as I was die back for a carol service rehearsal at church.
We spent 3 hours travelling less than 3 miles along the A1 trying to get out of London. Crucially we decided to persist after 1.5 hours as we passed a turn-off point. Bad move. After our 3 very frustrating hours we reached a stage where we could turn round (rehearsal now well and truly missed) and return to ILs to spend the night.
Thankfully my IL's are absolutely lovely and we enjoyed the extra time with them, even if not to plan. We drove back this morning and very glad we didn't persist last night - lots of abandoned cars alongside A1.

Right, going to catch up on rest of thread.

NoMoreSnowPlease · 19/12/2010 13:32

It's friggin snowing. It's not supposed to snow here today.

vallinnapod · 19/12/2010 15:30

LOL NMCB you tempted fate! Good excuse to rest your poor hip up

NervousNelly · 19/12/2010 18:33

Very quiet on here today! Thanks for the kind words from you all. Feeling ok today but Facebook has been a bit Sad as there are quite a few memories being posted. Still - better to remember and smile at the happy memories than to just forget her. Her brother put something up that made me cry though. Life sucks sometimes Angry.

We got a bit more snow today, just a couple of inches so not bad (yet?). We had to go out for lunch to warm up though. Our heating LPG still hasn't been delivered (ordered it two weeks ago) so we are trying not to put the heating on, saving the gas for showering). Not the best when it's been getting down to -10. We have been PROMISED it tomorrow so have splurged and the heating has been on for the last two hours. Exciting times!

Esk very frustrating to spend 3 hours going nowhere. Hope you are snuggled up at home and not going anywhere Xmas Smile.

SingingMog · 20/12/2010 08:10

Cat on left arm again, so this will take ages to type....

NN sorry to hear about your friend. Sounds like you are remembering her in a lovely way. Also, hope your gas comes soon.

Esk, travel sounds poo. Hope you have recovered.

NN & Vallinna that makes much more sense to me, is rather exciting!!

NM grr to snow Angry

Josie hope shagathon is going to plan Wink if don't hear from you for a bit will take it as good sign!!

GGGGRRR at DH here. Pant snot again yest, then felt ov pain (for 1st time ever) but he said all day he was too tired. Last JS was Friday. Think the scene in my right fallopian tube as I slept will've gone something like this:

Egg: Yay!! I'm free!
Sperm: Slow... down...
Egg: Ewww. You look all old and decrepit. Keep away!
Sperm: But...
Egg: Phew! Lucky escape. Oh. That was the last one. Bugger.

On plus side, usually I am in school at this time in the morning!

SnowMiffles · 20/12/2010 09:06

PMSL at mog's egg and sperm conversation. So funny!! I can understand your annoyance at your DH, but try and get one in tonight. You never know, maybe due to the snow and risk of ice your egg is travelling more slowly and so a shag tonight will have lovely young and spritely sperm going to meet it!!

My car packed up this morning. Blower stopped blowing. Thankfully my DH's car was booked into the garage for a service, so they got mine for fixing instead!

Testing tomorrow....trying to prepare myself and tell myself I won't mind when I see the BFN. At least I'll be able to relax and enjoy alcohol over Christmas. Boobs feel the same way they did before AF.

Nelly - please say you have proper heating now!!

NervousNelly · 20/12/2010 10:43

Haha mog very funny. I currently just have the sperm going "hullooooooo? Eggy, where arrreee yooouuuu" Xmas Grin.

I'm at work so heating is on here! Fingers crossed gas comes today for sure!

vallinnapod · 20/12/2010 12:05

Good luck Miffs

So...wanna hear something (that is now) funny? As I love to share with you, the Cyclogest has me stupidly bunged up (Fybrogel, Syrup of Fig, lots of water, prunes etc and STILL nothing!). I woke up on Sunday morning around 9am and had a small one. Went to have a shower at 10-ish and ended up writhing in agony on the bathroom floor with what I can only describe as a cross between period pain and cystitis pain. Agony. To the point I could even call to DH. Sweating and everything. Finally crawl to bedroom and panic him awake. I was fully aware this could be trapped wind but equally aware it could be ovarian torsion...so called emergency doc...whi said they would call back in 1-2 hours (actually called back 4 hours later - told her I was probably dying of sceptacemia by that stage...!!). DH said we'd give it 10 mins and then call an ambulance. Thankfully eased off and was clearly trapped wind but I have seriously never had pain like it, and I pride myself with quite a high tolerance!

Any way, thought it would amuse...my entire thought throughout was concern that I had stripped to get in the shower and that if a paramedic came I'd want my PJs back on and realising I was in so much pain I couldn't remotely attempt to get them on!
