The (updated) (again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you?ve had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome!

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Thanks ladies - brilliant news milano and good luck with the scan dynababy. It'll be lovely to have something to hang onto over Christmas. And YES, this has been the loooooooooongest 12 weeks EVER! (especially as technically it's only been 9 since I found out).

Went for dinner with old colleagues/friends last night. It was lovely to see them and two of my old bosses were there and were really sweet about the baby (they already knew - I told them after the last scan when I was meant to go out and get pissed with them). This other girl quizzed me quite publicly on whether or not it was planned and how quickly it had happened, though, which made me want to throw my chicken shish at her. Obviously I just politely lied and changed the subject ...

So chicken shish eaten, dignity intact, scan tomorrow ... 27 1/2 hours to go 27 1/2 hours to go .......

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

The entire university web system is down. You can't log onto the website, I can't do all my module evaluation forms and registers, I can't open half my documents because I can't connect to the network, and I can't log in to my email account. This is the 2nd day! There is no explanation for it. All the students are going mental as they've got deadlines tomorrow and they can't cheat their essays on wikipedia and googlebooks - and more seriously they can't access saved versions of their work on email/university computers. I now have to go to work tomorrow after my scan, when I was going to stay at home, because I can't access all my stuff before Christmas unless I go there then. Work is 60 miles away from home FFS.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

On a positive note, I have got a Cadbury's advent calendar and the chocolates get bigger every day. Today's was mahooosive

I'm child free at home it's only day one, but already I'm loving this playgroup business.

Afternoon viroids, I am surprisingly perky today after the amount of booze I managed to ingest last night! But more of that later once I've caught up on all the goings on.

Ooh Dyna the scan and MW appointments are so close now, hope all goes well with both for you.

Milano great news about the scan and especially the heartbeat, that must have been a great moment! Hopefully you can relax now and start to enjoy this pg more (and really indulge properly over Christmas!)

TTL boo for work Tech problems, so frustrating. I work in HR and partner with Technology so I get to hear first hand all of the problems that go on. I know it can really disrupt your plans for the day. At least you have the chocolate to lift your spirits and think of it this way, you will be in such a good mood after your scan that going into work will pale into insignificance!

NoMore glad your appetite is returning but that the sickness isn't buggering off yet! Excellent news on playgroup = me time and at least you can suffer in comfort without having extra Mummy duties to worry about.

So the Christmas party was great, although it went really quickly. It started at 6.30pm and went on until 1am but went by in a flash. My favourite thing was getting to meet Shaun Ryder (I had my photo taken with him and crouched down a bit as he is quite short and I was in heels. He made me retake it standing up straigh as he 'likes tall birds' I'm not really that tall but he's so little for a man! Westlife did perform, as did Shane Ward (better than I thought he would be, great voice and quite handsome) and Stacey Solomon. They had the voiceover guy from the X Factor programme doing the compering, which was funny and he got everyone very hyped up for each 'surprise' guest. Meeting some b list slebs (Terry Christian, Katie Waissel and someone from Holloyoaks), lots of lovely food and many, many drinks (mixing beer, wine, cocktails and whisky does not make for a happy get up times on a school night) made for a great evening. I think that's worth one of these

Think I could do with a drink as am slowly becoming the crankiest wife on earth. Have just told DH off because he promised to leave school at 3 on the dot because a lady was coming in to his department who has recently had radiotherapy and pre-warned him that she is not allowed to come into contact with pregnant people. Of course he forgot to plan his lessons which have to be covered while he's at the scan tomorrow, so he chanced it and stayed late. Even though he didn't actually see this woman (and he was only being cautious in the first place) I didn't let him in for about 10 mins when he got home and then nagged on at him about how I'm going to get pissed at our Christmas party 'cos what the heck ... he's already (almost) exposed me to radiation.

I really need to lighten the f* up!

Mog that almost sounded like an exceptionally personal question you were asking me there! Then my normal brain kicked in. I wrote christmas cards, read MN and talked to DH (even snuggled on the couch for about 30 seconds). Maybe not very relaxing or exciting, but it felt GREAT! It felt even better when I walked into the room and heard DS calling Mummy Mummy Mummy as he came running

So two embryos in, making themselves at home I hope. They were both above average so fingers crossed. I have a cold so have already sneezed and coughed and panicked in case that made them fall out

Even got a piccie! Obviously you can't see anything but the little bit of fluid that the embryos were suspended in, but it looks like a little starburst

Woohoo! Today is such an exciting day on this thread. vallinna how does it feel to be on your first 2ww? And to have a picture too?! I am genuinely chuffed and excited for you ... sad, I know, as I don't know you, but we've been on this thread about the same amount of time (yonks!) and it'll be a great day when you're upduffed (and hopefully only 14 days away )

Plus josie's getting both sloshed and chauffered, which is the best way a night out can be in my book, and nickel's getting the weirdest dirty talk I've ever heard . Bunting all round!

Finally, I had my scan and it was lurvely :) The baby has 2 arms (behind its head), 2 legs (crossed), a head with an actual brain in it, it still has a heartbeat, and appears to all intents and purposes to be alive . DH was very luvvy-duvvy in the waiting room and he went all red during the scan . The nuchal measurement was 1.4mm which is great. I also gained a day which puts me back where I thought I was exactly - 12 weeks 4 days, due 26th June. So hopefully I've had my last thread kipper because I can actually definitely relax now and stop being a mentalist. Well, sort of. You know what I mean!

Hope everybody else is having an equally nice day :) Going to my work Christmas party later even though it's 60 miles away ... have told people at work now and have a gorgeous sparkly blue dress which always used to be too big for my bust but - hey presto! pregnancy magic means it now looks great :)
