By hook or by crook we will shag our way to victory - thread for the JSing viroids

The (updated) (again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you?ve had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

No no Dh didn't miss scan, although I was so mad at him for a while I nearly told him not to come! He just got so very far on the wrong side with our landlady this morning that I could have cried.

Anyway over it now and am accepting that our next home will be a temporary move rather than the long term solution we have been looking for. GAH

Still Baby looked good. very chilled out and relaxed, with it's feet crossed and the occassional royal wave at us Grin. Not at all like it's big Bro who jumped all over the place in every scan we had.

Good news on the follicle Vallinna frustratingly slow for you I know, but far better than totally asleep ovaries.

takethatlady · 03/12/2010 15:40

Awww congrats nomore.

It's annoying having upheaval like that isn't it? We are going to have to rent out our house (negative equity, 60 miles from work) for about £500 a month less than the stupid mortgage payments, and then rent something near my work. Feels ridiculous that our most precarious housing situation ever is going to come upon us at the same time we have a baby.

Also we can only move between 4-10 weeks after the baby is due (school holidays).
None of this DH's fault at all, but if it was even remotely I'd be Xmas Angry too Grin

Anyway, the main thing is you had a lovely scan, so congrats Xmas Smile

vallinnapod · 03/12/2010 16:48

Awh NMCB - cuteness (but I do point my Xmas Envy at you Wink - does it make it less bad if my envy wears a hat?!?!) Seriously though, really pleased all is well!!

I have a change of protocol! Up to 150 tonight and tomorrow with scan and bloods on Sunday! Didn't even realise they were open then!

takethatlady · 03/12/2010 17:11

Sounds like you've found a great clinic vallinna. The sooner they get you upduffed the better Xmas Grin.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 03/12/2010 18:25

Vpod you may Xmas Envy me all you like. Xmas Grin (I like the words fenvy and fangry, fangry should have fangs Grin) Good news on the dosage upage. (watches Vallinna float by in a fertility drug haze)

SingingMog · 03/12/2010 20:42

Josie, make sure you take care. All that pushing cars around cannot be good for you. We actually got some snowfall today. Unfortunately it made children unteachable as all they kept asking was if they could go home for a snow day. It was like they had never seen the stuff before!

Vallinna - three Xmas Grin it's the magic number!

NMCB - scan sounds so amazing! Feel for you with moving dilemmas. TTL too. It is poo.

Am so tired and bleurgh today that I asked DH to make tea. Rather than go and boil pasta for a few mins he would prefer to go OUTSIDE into the frozen weather and get something! Anyway, ended up ordering pizza so now waiting for it to arrive while watching I'm a Celeb (Shaun Ryder is ace, plus have been teaching AS Music Tech kids about Indie music).... nom nom!

SnowMiffles · 03/12/2010 22:57

Yay for NMCB's scan and seeing her little baby. So cool!!

And although the progress may seem slow, valinna, it certainly sounds like you're in good hands. 3 follicles - that is the best you've managed in the past!

Dyna - I would definitely tell your boss at work and get a bit more grace. Sounds like you're getting too stressed for your health. Hope you're able to enjoy your w/e and your DH look after you.

TTL - rubbish situation with your house. Plus the bad timing. But it will be ok, you will manage it. Well done on telling your friends - I can imagine it would make you nervous, but you're doing so well!! Nearly your 12 week scan!!

Can I ask - you know how they date you from CD1, so at conception bean is already 2 weeks old....well is your 12 week scan really 10 weeks from conception? And the digi sticks, when they say 1-2 weeks, at some point do you say - well, 2 weeks from conception. Bean is now 4 weeks. ? Confused Do you see what I mean?

Anyway, we had a JS tonight - on the sitting room floor as warmest place! Think DH is feeling the pressure though...not so good. This was only a warm up shag too...getting things ready for Monday and Wed!! Might need to get that sexy underwear out...

Josie and nervous - please please be careful in this weather, going out and about. Josie - it sounds crazy what you have to manage with your horses. Is it normal?!

Mog - that is such a man thing! Ordering in rather than making. Having said that, mine does virtually all the cooking... Xmas Smile Hope you feel a bit more chipper now. Has Gillian gone from Celebrity? I've got them recorded but not seen it in a week. How did she go (if she did)?

ooo...in other news, bought a garland for the bannisters. Fake tree stuff (like pretend Christmas tree) with pretend snow and fir cones. Only 8 quid, and may jazz it up with lights. May put decorations up this weekend.

SnowMiffles · 03/12/2010 22:57

Forgot the Christmas bear [fbear] Xmas Grin

Eskarina · 04/12/2010 08:45

Vallinna Hurrah for your follicles!

Miffles I've often wondered about the way these things are dated, especially as I have irregular cycles, which tend to be long, so if I have one of my 6 week marathon cycles then bean is 4 weeks before it's even conceived?

Garland sounds exciting. We're going to get our Christmas tree today. I want some new decorations this year - we've used the same set since we got married 4 years ago. It's the Christmas Fair at our church today. Might see if there's anything worth having there.

takethatlady · 04/12/2010 08:55

Thanks miffles Xmas Smile they were lovely words.

miffles and eskarina the doctor will initially date you from the first day of your last period. This is stupid - I conceived on a 9 WEEK CYCLE!!!! (I feel that justifies capital letters and excessive exclamation marks!)

I told the doctor this, who said he was going to date me from my LMP anyway, so when I went for my scan I was already down as 14 weeks 3 days, and the sonographer told me off for being late. I told her I thought I was really only 9 weeks 3 days, which the scan confirmed. Then she was all annoyed and said 'did you know about this before you came?!' I did, but the doctor ignored me! So now I have to go back for another scan at 12+3. Obviously I'm happy about getting an extra scan.

Basically they add 2 weeks onto the date you actually conceived. They'll do this even if you have a really long cycle, but won't do it until the dating scan (even if you only ever have had sex once in your life and you know the date, they'd still rather use their own stupid method than believe the crazy pregnant lady Xmas Hmm. Hope that makes sense!

Yep, if clearblue digi says 1-2 weeks and you think you're 2 weeks, that really means you're 4 weeks preggo.

Had a really weird dream that I was Felicity Kendal, I lived in a huge manor house, and this unbelievably hot young man was trying to have sex with me but we couldn't in case my DH caught us and killed us. Then I went to Downton Abbey and Maggie Smith helped us find times/places to JS.

Clearly I need to JS Xmas Grin

nickeldonkeyonadustyroad · 04/12/2010 11:16

ttl that's a scary dream.
Xmas Hmm

will someone please talk to me about my period?
Xmas Confused
I should be 4 days into it now, right?
CD24 was 30th, and that was when I got a little bit.
well, i haven't had a full period yet! Every day it's been like the first day of a period (a little timy weeny bit of blood, but nothing major).

it's getting annoying.
but i don't want to POAS because i can almost guarantee that will bring on the ERTD.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 04/12/2010 11:26

That is a brilliant crazy preggo lady dream TTL! I watched Michael MacIntyre last night and he did a brilliant bit about dreams, so I'm having an extra giggle at you in relation to that.

SnowMiffs Good work! Shagging on the living room floor. I like your style lady.

Not much doing here. Am happy that my thermal cutain lining fabric has arrived and awaiting a shopping trip for prunes and those darn xmas cards. Nuff said really Xmas Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 04/12/2010 11:31

x post Nickel Um. POA(cheapie)S?! If it brings on ERTD at least it'll stop mucking you about and if it's a BFP then you'll get cheering, whooping and bunting (But no champers) Grin

nickeldonkeyonadustyroad · 04/12/2010 11:50

oh, dear, though - if it were pfb, i've had a glass of wine (small, though, our wine glasses are deliberately tiny) every night this week.
any baby of mine would be a lush..... Xmas Blush

I'll get DH to go to the cheapy shop...
Xmas Wink

nickeldonkeyonadustyroad · 04/12/2010 11:50

how did i miss miffles JSing in the living room?
Xmas Grin well done, lass! Xmas Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 04/12/2010 12:40

Nickel You were to busy gusset checking I expect. If it's any help of the last 3 pgs I've had the only one that stuck was the only one that had alcohol pre-test. Go figure?!

Have I spelt alcohol correctly? Things must be bad if I've forgotten that word.

nickeldonkeyonadustyroad · 04/12/2010 12:48
Grin

yes, you've spelt it correctly - wouldn't it be worse if it had been the only word you'd got right? Wink

go wrap yourself up in your thermal lining - sounds lovely Xmas Grin

nickeldonkeyonadustyroad · 04/12/2010 13:49

damn Xmas Angry

only had to say POAS outloud to DH (whose fault it really is because he said "p$$$$$$$$ test" )
and whoosh! ERTD in full force.

tummy hurts too.
Xmas Sad

SnowMiffles · 04/12/2010 14:27

Oh, I'm sorry nickel. I was about to say that I now get spotting for a few days before any period. Can be up to 5 days of silly spotting. So not unusual and doesn't signify anything, I don't think. Count your AF from today - so CD1.

Had a busy morning at work. Has Sittingbourne defrosted a bit, nickel? Everyone was out and about today!

Michael McIntyre is so funny. Really really like him. He's not too overly rude or crude, but hilarious. Watched half of it last night, got the second half (presumably with the dreams bit) recorded. Laughing thinking about it!! Think he may have a book out...might get it for my dad if so.

Thanks for the explanation TTL. What an annoying sonographer, complaining at you?! Xmas Shock Just to make sure I've got this right...If you have a normal 28 day cycle, you go for a 12 week scan 12 weeks after CD1. The baby is actually 10 weeks since it was conceived, but we all call it 12 weeks. Am I right? Xmas Confused

nickeldonkeyonadustyroad · 04/12/2010 14:33

it's bloody painful too - feel like i'm going to faint, and like someone has punched me in the lower stomach. :(

it has thawed out - it rained all last night (annoyingly - the guttering was dripping and kept me awake with its THUD THUD on the windowsill!)
town isn't hugely busy, but i'm doing okay - we've got a Santa's grotto at the bottom end which has been quiet too (DH is manning it!)

I love Michael McIntrye too - he's just clean and funny Grin

SnowMiffles · 04/12/2010 15:15

Tee hee Nickel!!!! I feel like a naughty school girl Xmas Grin Xmas Grin

nickeldonkeyonadustyroad · 04/12/2010 15:53

miffles you're so sweet!
can't believe how nervous you were! how scary can a woman who runs a children's bookshop be?
Xmas Grin

thank you, you made me very happy Xmas Grin

escapeartist · 04/12/2010 17:29

Awesome news about follicles vallinna and also great that they are open Sundays! Sounds like a good place. (Private i am guessing...)

Weather finally a bit colder here (by which I mean 17 degrees... Shock) and suspicion of rain, but walking the dogs tonight got us chilly. (Though I realise that you are all freezing over in the UK and it doesn't compare to my vaguely cold hands. Still can't wait to wear some winter clothes...)

Boo for ERTD nickel
And what great news for scan NMCB - did you get a little picture to take home? (or is that much later and I know nothing??)

So... AF should be here. Had some cramping a few days ago and thought yay! I will have a 31 day cycle again (normal, as opposed to last two of 35 and 36) but it's gone again... No chance of being upduffed, so no excitement :( Just want to start my cycle!

Any news from milano? Did she/didn't she POAS?

Planning to have some friends over for my Bday (30th!!) on Wednesday and sent out an email to everyone. Have only been in Greece for year and a half two years so have few friends - have invited about 8 girls (and a gay friend) for a girls night in with wine and nibbles... Then got two of my friends, who are pregnant, saying they are not leaving the house still! One friend is 5 months and has not left the house since she found out (and does nothing!!!) as she thinks she will harm the baby and the other again does not want to leave the house until 12 weeks!!! Also a few months back I was running with an American friend of mine who was visibly pregnant (i think around 6 months) and we got several people telling us off! Pregnancy is like a disease in Greece... you are not meant to do anything! Am I being unreasonable thinking that is v wrong??

Can't wait to continue to be (about as) active when I get pregnant...

milanomum · 04/12/2010 18:27

I'm sorry this is so short and I promise I'll come back soon but...look! Xmas Grin

SingingMog · 04/12/2010 18:38

That just seems v odd to me, escapeartist. Why stay in the house? It's not like they can get drunk or anything Xmas Wink!

SnowMiffs Gillian got voted off. Shaun was hilarious when they got the news. Final today Smile.

We're thinking about getting a new tree and baubles too Eskarina. I bought mine when I lived with my ex about 5 or 6 years ago...... so it is probably time!!

Nickel, at least you know where you are in your cycle now, even though you are probably Xmas Angry at missing out on POAS. Well, I would be anyway, I am still at the stage where I find it exciting and would PO-lots-OSs if I was rich enough even if I knew there was no chance of upduffage. You know, just to check they are accurate... Xmas Blush!

The way of counting weeks since conception seems totally crazy! Gah to the HCP who ignored you TTL, and then again to the one who told you off for being (not) late. Xmas Angry.

Milano how are you doing?

In Mooncup experimentation land (that just sounds wrong) all is going well. It is actually better than I expected!

I gave up caffeine around the time I joined the thread but last night I drank a litre of diet coke. I couldn't sleep at all. In the end I came downstairs at 1.30am and did school work until about 4am. Then I got a bit of sleep whilst the cat kept jumping on me. So knackered now [ftired face] That's the last time I do that!
