In cheering news for the day, my colleague's wife just gave birth after what can only be described as a hellish journey to have a child after many miscarriages, several cycles of ivf and basically being given up on my most of the clinics in london so v v v pleased for them both. He recommended the consultant that I'm seeing in london so I'm v grateful for a good recommendation. Oh nix I don't think any of my messages about cost ever got through, it was £200 for a consultation and semen analysis.

Happy Birthday to me!

I'm officially in the rapidly sinking part of fertility with PCOS, Factor V Leiden, too high BMI, and 1 in 4 live birth to pregnancy ratio so far. And I feel ok.
Looking on the bright side, I have good friends, a lovely DH and that 1 live birth is a gorgeous (if infuriating) clever boy who has wished me happy birthday about 100x this weekend. On balance I am sliding towards the glass half full side at the moment.

Especially as DH is currently preparing my birthday cake

Friends round for lunch yesterday went swimmingly. We ended up getting them to help use decorate our christmas tree so felt very festive. Will now have to put my thinking cap on for Xmasy Name.

Izzy I think that earlier ov line looks good. Once you get a peak on CBFM, you will always be given another one and then a high. But that first peak could have been the tail-end of the LH surge, so it's entirely possible you did ovulate before getting the peak IFSWIM.

Inbetweener I hope you're hanging in there ok. Such a long wait. I know you feel right now that you couldn't possibly go through this again if the worst happens. But please don't make any decisions when you're in the middle of it. Just get through this hurdle and then take the next one when it comes.

Dachs sorry you had that BFN before your birthday but good on you for not drinking and giving it every chance. I have everything crossed for you still m'dear.

Thanks for passing on the info about costs as well - it's not to be sniffed at but it's also not as much as I might imagine. Just take it easy on the ol' panic shagging - and buy some pre-seed woman!

Happy birthday lady!!! Good work on the glass half full mentality :) Hehehe we have been using pre-seed but for some reason he keeps getting friction burns anyway - we even had 3 weeks off to try and get them healed but clearly that didn't do the job.

orange my CBFM is a messed up little thing. Last cycle it gave me highs from CD10 all the way through to CD22 and eventually gave me a peak on CD23...... I was hoping that this was just because it was my first cycle using it but I think those hopes have been dashed since it has again started giving me highs from CD10. I am starting to get worried that this means my hormones are all messed up so I'm actually quite glad that I start hormone testing blood tests next cycle (unless AF rocks up on christmas day as currently scheduled, in which case it will be another 37 days after that until tests start). My boobs took a little while to go back, sadly they seem to have gone back quicker than my belly :( Having said that, maybe that's not actually to do with the MC

pink it does seem quite early in your cycle - when do you usually ov? Be careful not to go overboard too soon and let the evil shag dictator break mrpink again Also, how many cycles have you been using it? I'm on my fourth cycle of CBFM and it's the first time I've had less than 10 highs (I had 3 this month - result!). So I would definitely be wary got the first few months.

orange my boobs sadly went down quite quickly . I miss my fab pg boobs!!! However will keep my fingers crossed you get back to normal asap

Ooh interesting izz, hopefully it means the shag dictator is a slow learner rather than my body being weird - this is only my second cycle. I've been taping all my pee sticks onto a piece of cardboard so I can see the progression of the second line (gross I know but needs must!!!), so next month I can ignore any stupid waaaayyyy too early highs from the dictator and go with the shade of the lines instead. Going on last cycle I must have ov'ed on about cd23 so I'm not expecting much exciting to happen for the next week or so unfortunately. How are you getting on with finding a new church by the way?

Pink reindeer stalker chick I didn't take it this morn, having so much broken sleep was us majority of night as ds had poorly tum so didn't bother ! Will resume Tomor. PinkNose those long strings of 'high' must be hard going, but maybe it's just your body and the way it works. A slow build up of estrogen before it spurs on the LH surge? Or like Izz said, CBFM still trying to work out what a normal estrogen level is for you before it can measure an increase.
I was completely bamboozled by my single day of high before the peak - really felt like a blink & miss it cycle. But who knows whether it will be the same next month.

We did ok this month I guess, probably helped that it was my birthday - maybe he felt like he had to play nice. Now it's just a roll of the dice to know whether we're lucky this month or not.

nix I've got a boots bbt thermo (clearly would have bought the other if I knew I could get a colour coordinated one tho!). I try and breathe through my nose for a couple of mins, then pop thermo in and leave until it beeps. I think it's important you put it into the same part of your mouth each time, and I've found disturbed sleep definitely has an effect. It's freeeezing here. Central heating controller is busted again, so have turned on heating and have retreated to bed to psyche myself up for going in bathroom!!!

Yep i am defo not using my thermometer right... i takes ages to beep so i take it out to check its switched on, before it beeps then pop it back in . Severely broken sleep as well post 3 am at the min with DS (howling in his sleep :( ) If i am waking at 3, 4, 5, 6, and getting up at 6 when is the best time to take it? 3?
