Ancient Egypt; where the regal BESH barge floats gently in De Nile.

Glittering seductively in the evening sun, crewed by swarthy slaves, waited on hand and foot by bare-chested manservants bearing a rudimentary form of gin.

We have golden temples decorated with hieroglyphs for sacrificial offerings (and woo from the soothsayers) if required, and The Pit is full of asses? milk.

So, put on your eye make-up that goes out as far as your ears and jewellery so weighty it leaves dents in your head and step out to survey the peasants on the banks.

Come join the 30s TTC if your womble is as ancient and crumbly as Tutankhamen! Egypt; the thread where everyone eventually gets to be a mummy whether they like it or not.

twit twoopwoop!! wol that is marvellous and stupendous in equal proportion!! So pleased to see you and under such happy circumstances! Also brilliant brown !!

bettyboo hope you're enjoying the rest, did you take gagagging for it with you for something to 'do'?

Controversially, (and surprisingly as I do like me football, in a sort of fair weather- would -like-it-more-if-it-weren't-so-popular-way) I'm not bothered about World cup decision- have decided it's probably cos Cameron wanted it, and I don't want him to get his way about anything. And Will will have enough on what with planning a wedding, and making heirs and shiz, ao he won't really have time to concentrate on it. He'd probably forget to do the programmes and tickets or something (Imagine, how embarrassing, to organise an event which you expect tens of tens of people to attend, and forgetting to do tickets- this is the incompetence our production of Snow White and the 9 Dwarves is dealing with..)

BrownB · 02/12/2010 20:27

You all make me laugh. Am really happy to hear about your news shoes... Who else has won on this thread? LadtGG, can I please be next for the superglue action? Xmas Wink Due date is 2 August. Am now addicted to Pregnancy Friend's milestone guff. Anyways you all, enjoy the snow. Am about to skip out of my cabin in the mountains wearing shorts and a t-shirt, sunglasses and suncream. Xmas Smile

BrownB · 02/12/2010 20:28

Oh and BTW - no symptoms. None really except the missing droid. And sore nipples...

PrincessBoo · 02/12/2010 21:51

oooh look at you lot, all due around my birthday. What fabulous Leonine personalities your BESHspring will have Xmas Grin

Ariesgirl · 02/12/2010 21:58

'lo Boo.

PrincessBoo · 02/12/2010 22:06

'ahriiiiiiiiiiiight MadameRie?

Do you like the manics then?

Ariesgirl · 02/12/2010 22:12

Ummmm...yes I did. Everything Must Go is a masterpiece. Before I die, I simply must gallop along a beach on a horse to the title track. I saw them once when I was a student in Cardiff Uni and all I remember is being very pissed and crying to the theme from MASH and my then boyf getting in a fight...happy days...don't know much of them now, mind.

Do you?

PrincessBoo · 02/12/2010 22:50

I was never into to them into to them ifkwim but I love love some of their stuff, my fave being Motorcycle Emptiness which I think is just fabulous.

Since my last post and this we finally got round to it. They are going to need to swim pretty darn fast though methinks. :o

LadyGoneGaga · 03/12/2010 07:59

Swim little fellas, Swiiiiiiimmmmm!

BrownB me, Owlie, MrBitey, you and I think maybe some other people but brain not currently functional. Oooh, Ginfox but not seen here since

owlbooty · 03/12/2010 09:47

Whoop!

Early morning snifter, just the trick.

ariel I too love that track and also Motorcycle Emptiness. I still wonder if Mr Manic did actually chuck himself off the Severn Bridge and whether he'd wash up on my local beach as some others did though; I do recall some schoolkids finding a foot in a trainer once and I've found numerous bloated sheep washed up. God I miss living by the coast.

Too early for this sort of thing? Yes.

Brownie I have no idea where you are but I am seething with Envy at your mountain cabin. I bet the air smells amazing, it always does in the mountains.

I woke up this morning with less symptoms and cried for ages at Mr Shoes who is now very late for work. I'm not sure I can cope with living from one knicker-check to the next (i.e. literally every hour on the hour). I may go completely batshit insane.

I've missed you lot.

This is for Boo and Truffs* Grin

Noseymole I must confess I grinned to myself to see Cameron disappointed. He is a right ruddy-cheeked botox-headed cock. Oxford is full of Camerons in waiting, yah.

PrincessBoo · 03/12/2010 10:16

Oh the poor 'ickle bunny. Give him here, we need an ashtray.

According to Femilia I laid an egg yesterday - how comes FF says 10 days and that one says 12? Anyway, there is a chance albeit a slim one.

Ariesgirl · 03/12/2010 10:27

I've thought of a name for Owlie's BOC - owlet.

We thought we'd found Richey Edwards too when we found a skeleton on the local beach. It's the troof. Wasn't him though.

PrincessBoo · 03/12/2010 10:34

What is a BOC Rie?

I have tried to work it out before - got as far as Bun...? I'm sure Bun is wrong!

milanomum · 03/12/2010 10:39

It's SO stressful...and then they tell you not to drink. I do wonder if that's not just a sick joke.

moley did anyone really think they'd give Engerland the world cup AND the Olympics? Seems fairer to share. They probably all shuddered at the thought of another horrendous song to go with it too.

PrincessBoo · 03/12/2010 10:43

:o

I am being A Bad Mother. Must put down mumsnet and spend time with smallboy who thinks the laptop is part of my anatomy some days. Will come back later to find out what a BOC is!

PrincessBoo · 03/12/2010 10:45
Ariesgirl · 03/12/2010 10:48

Not offally sure Boo. I think it's bundle of cells. That's what I've deduced over the decades years months.

PrincessBoo · 03/12/2010 12:05
owlbooty · 03/12/2010 12:43

That's it, milano you are spot on - it was the thought of yet another ear-meltingly dreadful 'anthem' that lost us the vote.

Owlet is more upmarket than PlopBOC, which was my first choice. Classy, non? Actually I'm going to go with the complete De Nile theme and gallons of virtual GnT.

I have been saying for weeks I am going to resume my swimming as have been crap of late due to shitty cold weather - has been so long since I did it I am wondering if I can remember how to find the pool Grin Why is exercise so deeply un-fun and chocolate and crisps so delicious? If a Great Deity exists, he/she/it is clearly having a right laugh at our expense.

milanomum · 03/12/2010 13:07

..indeed myowl'sbootyisbiggerthanyours, see previous comment about pregnancy and alcohol.
I tend to avoid exercise. I'm still alive.

milanomum · 03/12/2010 13:46

For the updiffed laydees this has to be the funniest pregnancy book like, ev-ah.

kat2504 · 03/12/2010 17:08

owlie congratulations!! Am super happy for you and glad to see you back again :) Nice to see that starting this lovely thread has been lucky for you.

My droid has come a day earlier than expected this morning so am pleased not to have been kept waiting too long after bfn at least. Am hoping this month will be luckier for me!

PrincessBoo · 03/12/2010 23:47

Bugger to droid katerina

Where is everyone? We haff just put tree up. It's looks blardy fabulous.

Truffkin · 04/12/2010 02:50

Spanks for the bunny Wol have purchased the book as a gift for many fortunate friends. Glad to hear you're continuing to menkul post-win, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

That might be the wine though. I won the balloon modelling competition at the Christmas party I went to tonight (I know it's early, first of several) Fifty spondoolies worth of bar vouchers. Not to be sniffed at. I treated my table to some wine and ended the night with practically a pint of baileys. Yum.

Have made Facebook friends with my first MNer tonight. Am feeling extremely pleased with myself all round really.

Truffkin · 04/12/2010 02:56

P.S book looks genius. Wish I knew a newly 1st time preggo IRL to buy that for. Made me LOL and my in laws are asleep next door. Oops.
