Glittering seductively in the evening sun, crewed by swarthy slaves, waited on hand and foot by bare-chested manservants bearing a rudimentary form of gin.

We have golden temples decorated with hieroglyphs for sacrificial offerings (and woo from the soothsayers) if required, and The Pit is full of asses? milk.

So, put on your eye make-up that goes out as far as your ears and jewellery so weighty it leaves dents in your head and step out to survey the peasants on the banks.

Come join the 30s TTC if your womble is as ancient and crumbly as Tutankhamen! Egypt; the thread where everyone eventually gets to be a mummy whether they like it or not.

I am going to try and see Harry Potter again tonight. Not with diffed friend who was so disparaging of FDH's spunk but nice friends. I am also going to have a triple serving of Ben and Jerries and possibly the hot fudge sauce. Nom Nom Nom Nom.

Truffkin · 22/11/2010 16:17

Nice work Bitey I too am seeing the newest installment of the boy wizard's adventures this evening. Work are putting on a free showing for staff and TGB can come too. Working in media does have its' perks! Good call on the ice cream too, I can feel a core sundae coming on (perfect dinner substitute I think) Grin

InTheSunshine · 22/11/2010 20:32

Bitey I hope the GP is ok. Did you have massive fat ice cream? Ben & Jerries Phish Food rocks.

Truff Envy of your free showing where you can take TGB too.

MS has just come home, ranted about his shit day for 35 minutes and not asked about my horrific trip to the dentist Hmm

Ivegotmrbitey · 22/11/2010 22:13

What horrific trip to dentist sunshine? hope you are recovering now?
I had a three scoop sundae with hot fudge sauce and nuts, delicous! How was yours truff and did you enjoy the film? I mostly cried Smile, was fab! When I got home FDH had made lamb stew with dumplings which I scoffed too. Quite a lot of veg to feed a windy hag at bed time but it was very very tasty!

Truffkin · 22/11/2010 23:13

I luffed it BiteMe definitely best film of the lot and made me impatient for the final instalment now! No ice cream for me though as it was at the Odeon in between Covent Garden & Tottenham Court Road, which is a weeny one and only has the mini pots in the fridge. I adore B&Js though, Phish food, caramel choo choo and the arctic one with little polar bears are all faves.

Hope you're feeling ok now SunnyD sorry to hear of your mauling at the hands of a medical professional

AlpinePony · 23/11/2010 06:01

bitey I form part of the anti-Potter movement [tm] - watching the film would make my ovaries shrivel up and die. Again. Wink

In order of B&J preference:
Mint choc brownie (have only ever found in US)
Phish Food
New York Super Fudge
Fairly Nuts

I don't hold with their "low-fat" versions and I'm not a massive fan of the polar bear one - Arctic something? Confused

kat Vit C + E sounds good to me. I won my baybee when I moved house and lived on petrol station food for 2 days. There's no rhyme nor reason with this gig.

truff If you are diffed you will be able to have a bevvy or two in Ireland. The shrimp doesn't share your bloods until about week 6 - it's just an independent mass of taily-cells at this stage. G'wan, g'wan, g'wan - 'ave a green fag too.

Ivegotmrbitey · 23/11/2010 08:08

I had macadamia nut something, chocolate brownie something and cherry Garcia. All vv good. truff did you like hermione's clothes? I wanted to steal her wardrobe obv magically doubling the size (I'm sure she could help me with that!)0

AlpinePony · 23/11/2010 08:22

Oh god Cherry Garcia - how could I forget that? (Only available at the petrol station in the middle of a Yank-heavy NATO neighbourhood, therefore extortionately priced but oh so worth it!)

Macademia Nut Brittle.

Is it this morning you're off to the doc's bitey? Good luck - hopefully they'll start booking you in with a midwife. This will mean you are going to have a baybee. A real one. Not one in a box from Mattel or a dog in a pram, but a REAL baybee! Grin

Ginfox · 23/11/2010 09:08

Yay Bitey! Sorry, am just catching up with the news.

I am impressed with your very cultured ice-cream palates. Here in Ecosse we have Mackies - dunno if you can get it elsewhere. Butterscotch flavour is the best. If Cleopatra had known about it she probably would've used melted Mackies instead of asses milk, tis that good.

We went to GP on friday to tell her the good news. But she wasn't in, so told a not-very-excited locum. What an anticlimax. Awaiting contact from midwife - fingers crossed we get a good 'un.

Ivegotmrbitey · 23/11/2010 09:18

Pliz to provide sample of Mackies ginfox? I suspect this afternoon's brush with medicine will be a similarly damp squib but am very very good at issuing instructions to GPs (currently hold county record for most home visits to a poorly FDH in one year.

Skihorse when you say NATO do you mean soliders in stone cloured jump suits and blue berets? Just asking, don't have a "thing" for the peace keeping forces. Alright, I do. Please take a picture and in return I will give you <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=www.momdot.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/ben-jerrys-cherry-garcia.jpg&imgrefurl=www.momdot.com/small-talk-six-thinking-pink&usg=__RgfcUnl7qoZRO1LBfNUe3TcVjls=&h=279&w=210&sz=22&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=HSo-b21PN6J4qM:&tbnh=157&tbnw=115&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dcherry%2Bgarcia%2Bice%2Bcream%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1276%26bih%3D604%26gbv%3D2%26tbs%3Disch:1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=662&vpy=72&dur=3781&hovh=223&hovw=168&tx=91&ty=113&ei=KYbrTM6vI9-ShAf1uZGhAQ&oei=KYbrTM6vI9-ShAf1uZGhAQ&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=19&ved=1t:429,r:3,s:0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this

Ivegotmrbitey · 23/11/2010 09:29

Oh and sorry for cluster post but just wanted to remind Kat that many a soap story line has centred around female characters getting stomach bugs and their pills not working and instant diffment has resulted. If it happens in soap land it must be true and since you weren't on the pill anyway then surely even better?

That is all, I will get on with my work now.

AlpinePony · 23/11/2010 09:30

bitey Yep, NATO as in running around writing VI documents (after all, this is mainland Europe, not Kabul) Wink. "Some of my best friends" work for NATO - but tbh, you'd probably not want photos of them... I too have a thing for military boys - reader, I married* one! SF/marines were always my weak spot. Blush Actually I haz just applied for job with NATO - am unlikely to get it - but am tempted by the 6k a month tax free salary + housing + medical + child allowance. I'd sell Bear for that! Wink

*We're not married and he's not in the army anymore.

Ginfox · 23/11/2010 09:41

Bloody hell Snowhorse, you can buy us all a Cherry Gargia if you get that job. Fingers Xed for you.

Shurely for that sort of dosh it must be a special job. Something top secret, that involves wearing a lycra all-in-one and hanging from the bottom of a helicopter with one finger. :o

AlpinePony · 23/11/2010 09:50

It's in Norway - so I hope I don't have to wear a lycra all-in-one during the winter!

It's worth keeping an eye on the recruitment sites for these international agencies because they recruit civilians as well as military personnel. Especially good if you're multilingual. Pots of dosh & allowances. Join the gravy train. W00p W00p! Grin

Ivegotmrbitey · 23/11/2010 10:02

Sorry Skihorse my knowledge of international events is at best ignorant and when it comes to NATO apparently entirely reliant on stereotyping! Blush

Dying to know what job is, am picturing you like the milk tray man only with icecream and on a horse!

Medee · 23/11/2010 12:25

My favourites - Caramel Chew Chew; Cookie Dough and Phish Food. Their frozen yoghurts are pretty good I reckon. I'm not convinced by Mackies, it's alright. The best ice cream in Scotland though comes from those Italian cafés, especially the one near my folks in Glasgow. Foxy where in Ecosse are you, if you don't mind my asking?

kat2504 · 23/11/2010 15:14

liking the ice cream topic as having mega crap day so far. Going to cheer myself up by making a big vat of goulash soup.

Phish food gets my vote. Once upon a time Haagen Dazs made a delicious one called chocolate midnight cookies. Divine. You can still get it abroad, dunno why they decided it was too delicious for the uk market.

kat2504 · 23/11/2010 15:16

like the soap story instadiff idea, thanks bitey will remember that!

InTheSunshine · 23/11/2010 20:40

Ooooh Ski job sounds exciting. Salary sound even more exciting!

Trip to dentist yesterday went something along these lines - I thought I was going to get impressions done of my teeth so I could have 2 false ones (knocked out as a child) replaced. Turned out I was having that done as well as the false ones ripped out and temp false ones put in....then I have to go back in 2 weeks time for the real ones. Injections & everything. Ho hum.

Think droid is deffo on its way. Cramps and I am getting mardy.

What's the B&J ice cream called with banana in it? I need a vat of that right now.

Biteme how was GP - suitably impressed I hope?

Gin how you doing?

Ginfox · 23/11/2010 21:06

Fine thanks Sunshine - feeling pukey and unbelieeeevably tired, but otherwise not bad.

Medee I am in the sunny Kingdom of Fife. Did briefly live in Glasgow, but never sampled the ice-cream. Must make a special trip methinks. Eating out in Glasgow is generally extremely good, espesh in the west end. Mother India's Cafe serves the best indian food I have ever tasted.

I'm hungry again now - am veering between starving and uncomfortably full most of the time.

InTheSunshine · 23/11/2010 21:42

I have just eaten some M&S trifle so feeling much better (driod is def on way I am eating like a beast with 2 stomachs)

Gin & Medee I went to uni in Glasgow, tis where my ma is from too.

Medee · 23/11/2010 22:20

Ah, Mother India's - just the best curry ever. I am Glaswegian, but living in the Granite City at the moment.

PrincessBoo · 23/11/2010 22:32

So how many undiffed BESHes are there now then? I think I am having a phantom pregnancy - I've been staking the PESHES :o

Did Truff POAS yet?

re ice cream - I always have strawberry cheesecake Haagen Dazs. Is there a similar one by B&J?

Truffkin · 23/11/2010 22:39

Evening Hags

Bitesville I did spend much of the film in the throes of boot-envy at the hands of Hermy One. I also very much liked a chunky-knit jumper she had on at one point too.

Nice to see Gin popping in to say hello. Glad to hear things are progressing nicely, embrace the appetite while you can.

Unfortunately my temp dropped this morning so think that's droid calling ahead to let me know he's on his way. Am very chuffed to have a weekend of binge drinking planned to drown my sorrows. When we get back will need to have a think about what's next. Might have some time off the head fuck that TTC has turned into. I don't want Christmas to be a downer when droid arrives again!

PrincessBoo · 23/11/2010 23:00

Ah sorry Truffs too early. My brain is addled from 3 sleepless nights with a poorly child. Tonight has been the worst ever. He has slept for approx half an hour since bedtime as his coughing keeps waking him up and I am suffering with a heavy droid and a severe lack of patience. I am great when I don't have work in the morning but as I do and it involves a considerable amount of driving tomorrow I am stressed to fuck and consequently can't sleep. Sorry to be me-me-me. I need gin. And I am sill depressed about the droid too. :(
