A comfy little corner for those who need company in the post mc ttc journey!

To POAS or not to POAS? That is the question!

Hello all!

nicks remind me on what to do with grapefruit vs. pineapple juice - grapefruit before ov., pineapple after? Apparently the following contain calcium: Almonds, parsley, corn tortillas, globe artichokes, prunes, pumpkin seeds, beans, cabbage, leafy green vegetables. Not sure how you go about convincing a little one to eat much of that stuff though!! Maybe some kind of flapjack with almonds and prunes? Hmm Is your DS dairy intolerant? Sorry you're feeling grim, I hope you're tucked up in bed with some hot lemon juice and some junk TV!

inbetweener nice one on the 3 days in a row!!! V. impressed! Hehehe my DH has a new rule that we can DTD every other day except if the monitor gives a peak then we can go to every day so he doesn't get worn out Grin - we definitely peaked too soon last month and ended up having to have a week off just at the critical time, d-oh! Sorry, no idea about the weight thing although I think that BMI is a bit approximate as it doesn't take muscle or your frame size into account. One of my expanding library of books on the topic reckons being either over or underweight will make it harder to conceive, but it then goes on to say that you've got to avoid stress - can't see that losing weight and avoiding stress really go hand in hand!!

chocs sorry you've been ill, you've really had a horrible for weeks you poor girl [hsad]. Have you had a holiday yet this year? I reckon you really deserve one. I hope you're done with driving the porcelain bus now and on the mend.

My temp had a jump today, fertility friend says that it needs three high temps in a row to confirm ovulation so I'll just have to wait and see what's going on! I have to say, this temping and CBFM combo is cool - helps me feel like I'm doing something scientific rather than completely random and hopefully will help me time a safe time to leave poor DH alone!

I feel a bit sorry for the DH/DP's out there - we've got mumsnet to talk to like-minded people about this, but they've got no support network! Hehehe although what are the chances of them discussing their sore bits and their DP's demanding they DTD with other boys anyway?? [hgrin]

Right I am off for a nice long decadent afternoon nap, yum!

PinkFondantFancy · 24/10/2010 15:10

Hehe ooops just read my last sentence - it reads back in a very disturbing way about DTD with other boys [hblush]!! Oh dear, you all know what I mean (hopefully!!!)

appleblossoms · 24/10/2010 19:23

PFF teeheehee [hgrin] DTD with other boys! and here's hoping for a couple more rising in temps....followed by a lovely BFP in two weeks!

Oh choccy sending you big hugs. Sorry you've been so poorly [hsad] Hope you're feeling a little better now, being sick is never fun. I always say I'd much rather have real proper flu for two weeks than have two days of being sick. Tis the worst illness I think!

inbetweener don't worry too much about your weight, weight does play a slight factor of course it does, but so does stress! so there's no point losing one and gaining another if you see what I mean. and I thought they were scrapping BMI's for working out obesity? All rugby players are clinically obese due to their size and muscle!

nicks another poorly one [hsad] sounds like we need to start passing round some vitamin c rather than chocolate!

mummya I get loads of emails about free viagra, shall I forward them to you?! [hwink] teehee. Sorry for being forgetful, but were you going to see another consultant soon to try and get some more answers? any idea when that will be?

My lovely LOVELY midwife called today to set a date for my booking in, 4th Nov, AND she said when she was with me she'll call the EPU and tell them I need to have a scan in the next couple of days, so hopefully 5th/6th Nov when I'll be about 8 weeks so perfect [hgrin] she said she would manipulate the facts to make sure I get one. She's so lovely. So feeling much chirpier this evening.

Hope you're all settling down for lovely evenings. Thanks for letting me moan yesterday.

nickstermum · 24/10/2010 20:31

Question for you.... Does your cervix change in the event of a conception?

Just wondering

owlshoes · 24/10/2010 20:38

Funnily enough I looked that up on Dr Google yesterday. Yeah, I have nothing better to do in my life than become a bloody expert on TTC. Anyhoo - the answer is: yes, but there is no way you'll be able to tell if you're up-duffed by prodding it (damn! damn!)

Jamface · 24/10/2010 20:48

I'm not sure nicks, why? You feeling changes. Fingers crossed, very exciting.
I'm on day 11. I've had lots of ewcm since yesterday morning. We swi last night and I just peed on opk and got a pos line (didn't when I peed at lunch). Now I know there's no chance of swi tonight as dh is out (and in a bad mood!) so do you think I'm in with a chance if we have a rumble again tomorrow? Also, cervix doesn't feel particularly high. Does that meas ov is still maybe a day or so away? I'm just a bit new to these ov spotting techniques.
Am writing this keeping one eye on xf. Is it wrong to have a bit of a crush on Aiden even though I'm probably twice his age? And Harry from one direction. And matt. Blush
Sorry for not name checking everyone but hello to one and all x

DachshundsRule · 24/10/2010 20:53

Aiden wrong... Harry not so much ;)

nickstermum · 24/10/2010 21:03

Hey owls and jam just wondered !! But thanks!! Had a prod earlier so was wondering! Jam doubt in with a chance ( me I mean) but always hopeful of course!! I don't get sore boobs til further in so wouldn't know anyway!

Jam - of course you will have a strong chance I am loving Aiden too and he is a baby!! Reminds me of R patz

nickstermum · 24/10/2010 21:04

Nope Aiden is rather yummy ;)

nickstermum · 24/10/2010 21:12

Matt is gorgeous! Reminds me of a better looking but rather short chris Martin!!

Jamface · 24/10/2010 21:13

That's what I think but then I've always had a soft spot for geeky, awkward, intense muso types! Confused

PinkFondantFancy · 24/10/2010 21:13

Great news on the supportive midwife apples. In my area you don't get a booking in until 12 weeks so when I get updiffed I'm gonna be on my own during the scariest bit, quality eh?

Hey nicks any other signs?! Sorry no idea about cervix.

owly how was your weekend? Hopefully quite chilled if you've been spending time with mr google.

jam sorry no idea but the others are v knowledgable so hopefully some good advice coming your way. The little I know is that I think ewcm comes before ov so you should sti ll be ok tomorrow i would have thought but I don't know about opk's. I like Aiden too, I suspect it might be wrong though!!!

I've been watching ace Ventura in the xf breaks, I looooooooove that film!!

PinkFondantFancy · 24/10/2010 21:17

Aghghgh since I've decided to go cold turkey on cake and chocolate it's all I can think about!!! Aghghg [hhmm] anyone else tried to do this ridiculous act clearing upness?? Does it get easier??

AandRMum · 24/10/2010 21:32

Hi Inbetweener I am on the same mission weight wise. I think I spent the 6 months trying to get pregnant last time trying to eat myself pregnant! I have ended up going back to exercising regularly and it is helping immensely with the stress side of things if not necessarily the weight!

Choccy hope you are on the improve. The change of weather is a nightmare for health.

Good luck with all the positive OPKs and hard working DHs! We are in the middle of trying to get planning permission with a very difficult neighbour which is putting TTC a bit on the back burner. Sad

nickstermum · 24/10/2010 21:33

Peeing for England!!

Big fat cat trod on my left boob earlier and it hurt! But then he weighs a ton! Nobbly nips still nobly from bf ds... And still veiny!

But no I'm not symptom spotting at all, no not me, never !! All i know is I feel Like shite due To lurgy, and barsteward dh wouldn't let me have a paracetamol just in case!!! Doh! I don't think I am up fudged day 35 and waiting for period! Emotional and angry but that's normal Pmt ,

nickstermum · 24/10/2010 21:34

Up fudged Mmmm clearly that is the I phone definition of up duffage !!

Jamface · 24/10/2010 21:35

Hi Pff yes it does get easier, honestly. I gave up caffeine and crappy sweet stuff after seeing a nutritionist. I felt hideous for 2 days, in a complete heady fug and then on the 3rd day felt better, the cravings stopped and I had more energy. Now I snack on oat cakes and brazil nuts feeling rather smug Grin

AandRMum · 24/10/2010 21:37

PFF the only thing which works for me is to never tell myself I am on a diet or not allowed to eat anything in particular as I do the same and obsess about it - instead I have an iphone app which counts calories and having to type in a cake just puts me off eating it - sometimes!!

AandRMum · 24/10/2010 21:43

Nixs love the idea of being upfudged!! Here's hoping for a fudgy result for you!!!

nickstermum · 24/10/2010 21:51

Fondant! I thunk it's grapefruit unto ov then after is pineapple together with brazil nuts!

The list of ridiculousness gives more info ! Xeroxing is horrid. All I want to eat is shit! Have been at the chocolate digestives all weekend! ( I say I abstain from sugar but clearly I am just a total liar!!) Take that away and it's a bit like withdrawal symptoms ! Couple of days you will be fine;)

nickstermum · 24/10/2010 21:54

Xeroxing meant..... Not photocopying clearly but de toxing!!!

nickstermum · 24/10/2010 21:57

A r mum..,, up fudged just sounds very very wrong!! Gonna purlt me off fudge bars for life. Or maybe thats a new way of cervix checking ! Oh dear, that's just so so wrong! brainclearly befuddled need sleep, back to grindstone tomorrow ;(

wonderif · 24/10/2010 22:29

hi everyone new to this thread, i had a missed mc at 18 weeks , happened at end of july, we havent made any conscious decision on trying again.

My period arrived in august and has followed every month , couple of days late in october, 1st day was 13th october.

today however have started to bleed no heavy, just spotting pink/brown (sorry tmi)

i really dont have much clue about the dates etc but could there be a chance this is an implantation bleed, i am clutching at straws i think. :(

nickstermum · 24/10/2010 22:46

Wonder, if you cd 1 was oct 13th then it's more likely to be mid cycle, poss ov bleed? Mind you depends on cycle lengh doesn't it? Short cycles could poss be! I am long cycles so what do I know x sorry for your loss :( I recognise you from another thread

wonderif · 24/10/2010 22:53

thanks nickstermum, cycle length is generally full month, i have cramps also, hard to know suppose will just have to wait and see :(

nightmare for everyone on here what we all have had to go through
