Hello all!

wombat I think actively trying to focus on happy things is a brilliant idea, just after the MC I bought a new notebook (I loooove stationery - saddo!) and every day wrote down the 'beautiful thought of the day' - got the idea off some cheezy american website but basically wrote down all the nice things that had happened that day. Some days I had to think really really hard about it but could always come up with something. Haven't done it for months now but maybe I'll crack it back out. My happy thought of the day is that it's almost the weekend and DH have a v. chilled weekend with absolutely nothing planned except test driving a campervan!!! Eeek so excited! Literally everyone I've told has basically said "I was previously worried about your mental health after the MC but now I have had all my worries confirmed, you have officially lost the plot" Grin hehehehe Oh and in other news, I've booked for acupuncture on Saturday lunchtime, v. excited about that too, although a bit nervous...

Hugs for you too owly, totally understand miserableness about SIL, that is going to happen to me any day now, it's like it's become some kind of race - like I needed the extra pressure.... Yay for boots, what sort and where are you going to go to track them down?

mummya fab news that stopping the red clover has made you feel better. I also thought herb stuff couldn't really hurt you except I watched an episode of Holby City where someone got really sick from too much herbal stuff hehe I think I learn too many 'facts' from Holby.. Clearly this one is actually true though! Hahaha about the room full of pee sticks - hard to imagine what else could possibly be there, except maybe people like acupuncturists would get a stall there to advertise?

nicks hehe your typos are as bad as my phone posts! Random thought about your streaking - when I had spotting before the MC I was desperately googling for non-sinister reasons why I might be bleeding, and apparently people can have a sensitive cervix so that if something touches it e.g. during sex or a smear, it can cause a bit of bleeding but it's not coming from your womb it's actually coming from your cervix. Anyway that might be what it is, but as the oracle says, even if it AF, it's not something to worry about. Sorry about spots, same here..... What does coffee do for implantantion btw? How is the cold coming on? Fingers crossed you're feeling better soon - try and get lots of sleep in the meantime.

Izzy Shock about twice a day!! Hope Mr Izz is feeling strong!

Hugs for mamap 2ww does weird things to your brain! 4 days in KL sounds fab though, YUM for satay!

Can't remember who here said that travelling delays ov - that would explain what the hell happened last month then!! So my genius plan to go away for the week around ov for plenty of SWI totally backfired! Oh well, was good holiday at least!

Wombat33 · 21/10/2010 18:25

PFF a 'happy thoughts book' sounds like a lovely idea!!! Maybe I'll try that :)

Izzy do you think that's how fertility accupunturists (accupunturers? What's the noun??) get their success rates? Nothing too do with the needles at all and all down to the fact they tell their clients to have more sex...? WinkGrinGrin

tigger15 · 21/10/2010 19:29

Thanks for the ideas. Will consider and if the weather is anything like today then hot cider will be very welcome.

I haven't heard anything from Sarahmia, I'm afraid.

mousebacon · 21/10/2010 19:37

Hi ladies, guess what?

I had a message from my gp surgery today saying I needed to get in touch as something had come up in all the screening the hospital had done so I rang back and they asked me to come in

Long story short....I have MRSA!!!!!!!

Seriously, this has been the shittiest of shit months!

xxx

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 21/10/2010 19:37

PFF love the happy thought book idea, what a great thing to do. Campervan shopping sounds v exciting, be sure to let us know how you get on. Hope you enjoy the acupuncture too - I'm finding it really good so far.

And I think MrIzz might have been more amenable to the new regime if I hadn't stupidly made him "perform" every single day since my first CBFM high a week ago. Big strategy re-think next month!

wombat interesting point - maybe it does only work because they're pressuring you into having more sex. Then again, if it results in a bfp at some point I probably won't care why it worked [hgrin]

nicks your meal sounds lovely, it's freezing here today too!! Try not to worry about spotting, may not turn into AF - as pink says, it's probably just irritation of the cervix after swab/swi or something.

(still [henvy] of mamap's trip to Oz and KL)

oh, my happy thoughts are: I had a fab parents evening yesterday, a nice relaxing day today, and prescription shagging from now till the weekend [hsmile]

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 21/10/2010 19:40

Eeek - xposts - sorry mouse that must have come as a real shock. How are you feeling? Have they got you on plenty of drugs to sort it out?

So sorry you're having a crap time of it, ((((big hugs)))) x

Wombat33 · 21/10/2010 19:52

Izz - yep - I can see you won't care (but we will want to know the secret oif your sucess!!) WinkGrin

Hi Tigger

Mouse EEEK!!! Well at least they've identified it and now they can treat you, right?? Hope the MRSA/drugs aren't making you feel too poorly. Big hugs xxx

PinkFondantFancy · 21/10/2010 19:56

Just a quickie, pie and mash!!! Mmmmmmmmmm!

mouse that is shocking!! Did they give it to you in hospital? Have you been feeling ill? You poor thing xx

Jamface · 21/10/2010 20:23

Sorry to hear that mouse, you really are having a rubbish time. It will get better.
I had a positive things book as well pff. it does help you refocus a bit doesn't it.
Hope you're ok nicks. could well have just been from the tests you had.
Glad you're feeling better mummy. It's amazing how potent herbal stuff can be. I think you have to be careful taking at john's wort if you're prone to depression and Agnus castus is a no no for men as it messes their hormones up.
Hello to everyone else! X

Choccybick · 21/10/2010 20:44

Hi peeps

thanks for all your lovely messages concerning my Grandma everybody. I´m alright. She had a really long life - not many reach 95 these days. Still waiting to hear when the funerals gonna be....so feeling a bit uptight. Have a big business trip next week - suppose have to cancel and also supposed to by flying to Dublin nxt weekend. So just waiting....... dont think its set in yet, because Im so far away.

mousebacon thats awful news. thinking of you and hope the pills are okay for you and youre alright soon. Really shocking that the hospitals are still having this.

PFF lovely idea with the book of positive things. sounds like a plan. I used to blog a lot but gave up and became a facebooker, but some things are best kept secret in a wee diary. you may have given me some positive inspiration on this gloomy day.

hopefully back with positive vibes tomorrow

x

Choccybick · 21/10/2010 20:50

oh there were a few positive things today now i think of it:

.abundance of mini mars, kitkats and smarties in a booooring all day meeting marathon

. not crashing into the 3 cars infront of me on my way home, but simply being a whitness. nobody hurt.just metal.

.lovely belated birthday parcel off my best mate with a lovely cardy and necklace

...no desire for swi tonight but will settle for nice soak in bath and cuddle.

CaribouMoo · 21/10/2010 20:52

Oh no, lots of you having a hard time just now. Dachs hope the vet is wrong about your pooch, you must be very worried.

Mouse that is dreadful bad luck, poor you - hope you are on the mend soon. Choccy sorry about your Nan x General hugs for Wombat, Owl and anyone else that needs them. nicks my luteal phase is 10 -12 days max, i its more common than you would think and doesn't seem to cause problems getting pregnant.

Thanks everyone for the best wishes yesterday and your support over the last few months. I appreciate you helping me through the nerve wracking weeks and not minding me lingering here forever after my BFP. I would very much like to stick around to see how you are all doing and will definitely drop by frequently. Still not plucked up the courage to get on the grads thread either.

LadyBoo I've been thinking about you pal. We went through TTC after MC together, then our second MC together, then got sent for tests together (except I was naughty and had that illicit shag before I got there!). Hope it happens for you soon buddy and we can go through pregnancy together too, keep your chin up x

owlshoes · 21/10/2010 21:20

wombat and PFF I'm thinking knee high boots without silly heels that make me fall over :)

Mouse hope you're recovered soon, MRSA is an evil thing. At least it's been picked up and treated, that's good. I got horrendous food poisoning about a month after the mc which just piled on the utter shitness, so I kind of know how you feel atm :(

Moof you're not allowed to leave us! Ah, and you thought you were staying here cos you felt like it. Noooo. I've bricked the door up Grin

tigger I've also wondered how sarahmia is; really hope she's okay.

On the happy thoughts list - I had a Mars Bar this afternoon and it was completely lush. Yum yum yum.

MummyAbroad · 21/10/2010 21:33

mouse owch! thats horrible news, so sorry. I really hope you get well very soon. xxx

Pink happy thought for the day is very inspiring, thanks. Maybe I need shiney new stationery in my life? Perhaps thats where I have been going wrong. I am normally a scribble it on the back of a beer mat kind of girl but may well change my ways.

Caribou glad you are sticking around, its so nice to hear good news.Smile Are you at least lurking on grads?

youremindmeofthebat · 21/10/2010 21:34

Happy thoughts: I've just been to my friends for tea and a run, and my pudding was homemade banana and pecan muffin with toffee sauce

Love and hugs to the less happy amongst us.

Off for SWI.

mousebacon · 21/10/2010 21:48

Thanks ladies, have been prescribed nose cream, mouth spray, special shampoo and special body wash. I'm just pleased it's been caught. It is communicable from skin to skin contact but people are only really at risk if they're immuno compromised or have an open wound. I have to be reswabbed in a week so hopefully it'll bugger off quickly!

PFF I must have picked it up in hospital the first time I was there so in a way it's a good job I did have to go back or they'd never have known I'd picked it up I suppose. I really like your diary idea and try to keep a little journal of my ttc too. I think it helps get everything out if my head onto paper IYSWIM.

choccy pleased there were some good things about today too - did you get your flight sorted? It's Baltic here at the mo so pack your thermals Smile I hope you're ok xx

AandRMum · 21/10/2010 21:50

I read PFF message asking Nicks about her streaking to mean something somewhat different - not necessarily a happy thought but worth a good giggle - thought I'd missed an interesting earlier message!!!

Mouse how horrible. Are you feeling crap? Do you have to go into isolation from the world? Big hugs.

Choccy we lost my DH's Grandad (who I had adopted as I didn't have one and he was the most wonderful man) recently and despite him having had a very good wicket and being more than ready to head off - it has left a huge hole which kind of hits you at odd times. I think we feel it more now than at the time.

Nicks I may be in the sensitive womb category as well as I have had bleeding after smear tests before - I decided that it meant I have a lovely thick lining swelling at the edges and that is why I tend to bleed - based on absolutely no factual evidence whatsoever but it makes me feel better about it all [hsmile]

MamaP am with you on the satay obsession ... I could swim breaststroke in a pot of satay mouth wide open [hshock]

I don't have a happy book but I religiously have to think of ten lovely things whenever I walk somewhere - it can take quite a bit of imagination on some days and often ends up at the - oh what a lovely leaf - category of thoughts but it does help stop some of the obsessive, cyclical, completely unhelpful conversations which take place in my head!

PFF I secretly want to go campervaning but having heard DH give his father such a hard time about his caravan I think I will have to wait a bit for that to happen.

I have had a quick look at the Fertility show list - Zita West will be there doing her thing, I think they look at Chinese medicine (which my DSis swears by), there is a large chunk on IVF and how to choose the best doctor - I am not sure if I am ready to go to it at the moment. Not completely sure why ...

nickstermum · 21/10/2010 22:19

Heellllllooooooooo!

good grief!

Where do i start?

AR sadly i havent been showing off my lined wobbly bits for all to see.. you will be pleased to know, i dont think anyof you would have survived that act [hgrin]

Thankyou for the messages back, i think it must have been a bit of a bleed from the swab, still sore now bitchface and thinking about it i have bled before after smears. AF hasnt yet followed so am happier about that! Jam and fonda you are probably right of course.... [hgrin] PFF new name Fonda its easier to spell [hsmile]

glad you feeling good and moofbean is getting snug!

batfink WHAT ARE YOU DOING ON HERE? In the words of fonda less chat, more action!!!! [hgrin]

Poor you mousy as if you dont have enough going on at the moment, infected with hospital germs - not nice! Shame you cant sue them x

Chocster & dachs hope you are doin ok kiddos, any news on mutley dachs? give him a snuggle x

Izz 2 DC's and twice a day, who are they ttrying to kid? You need a medal if you manage it.... be stealing knitters crown before long x Glad acu is working and de-stressing. Fonda acu is lovely, feel terribly pissed when its finished [hgrin]

fonda campervanning woo hoo [hgrin] [henvy]
What sort? VW? or a proper winnebego? DH is a bit of an aircooled monster addict and used to home stray beetles & splitties and wot not before i made him sell them!!

mummy glad you are feeling better from cutting out the red stuff [hsmile]

My good feeling is that DS snuggled into me wearing fleecy jim jams and said " i love you mummy, to the moon and back". The first time ever said without prompting, and without me saying it first.

Plus also..... nope cant think of anything else. not even chocolate !

nickstermum · 21/10/2010 22:21

ah, was supposed to read either non vegetarians or carnivores... i dont think non carnivores would like my meat feast!

nickstermum · 21/10/2010 22:22

xxx

PinkFondantFancy · 22/10/2010 07:07

Om nom nice pie thanks nix! Working mum who manages to rustle up a quick mid-week home made pie=domestic goddess! Awew bless your little boy, that is a super nice happy thought for the day! Did you mean pissed after acu? Hehehe coolio lucky I've got nothing planned for the afternoon then!!

On the campervan front it's a vw California so a campervan but not a pretty one like the beautiful old style combis. Reckon we'll test drive it and if we like it, hire one for a week and check the whole campervanning thing works for us before shelling out!! Hehe sorry for post that spreads libellous rumours about you sprinting around flashing your bits!!

aandr hehe I think my happy place for today is going to be imagining swimming in Satay with mouth open :) how good would that be!!

PinkFondantFancy · 22/10/2010 07:19

sorry have to split posts to get phone to cooperate!
Hehe izz if I go to acu and that's what they say, I think dh will actually ban me from ever going again!!! I agree, if you manage that knitter will have to share her crown with you!!
batty, or Barry as my phone wants to call you, hope it was a successful swi mission! Your pudding sounds lush!!
mummya you'd be surprised how many things can be fixed with new stationery! Grin shame I didn't think of opening a Paperchase before they did!Damn!
mouse hope you're feeling better v soon.
lemon you still about? Hope you're doing ok. haha moof lucky sneaky owly trapped you in here!

PinkFondantFancy · 22/10/2010 07:44

Omg Omg omg cbfm says 'high'!! Got a swoi in last night, don't want to break dh-how long do you ladies reckon it might stay on high for? Its the first month usin it so guess it could be a week or so? Was thinking of sticking with every other day for a few more days but eeeek this is exciting!!!! Does this explain yesterday's pant snot?? Sorry for me me me, don't think colleagues will be keen to discuss...

Wombat33 · 22/10/2010 07:49
IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 22/10/2010 07:52

pink Campervan sounds good - my parents have one and it's fab! My dsis as a youngster actually had one of the old VW ones which was lovely to look at but probably not as practical or spacious to use!! Hope you find one you like.

I'm sorry to report that I haven't stuck to the twice a day recommendation - owing to the fact that CBFM still hasn't gone to peak yet. Am now on day 18 and 8th day of high with no peak. As far as I can tell this either means that I'm not ov'ing this month so the whole shagathon is a waste of time anyway, or it's going to happen so late that there's just no fecking point. Still keeping up the once a day just in case but starting to feel somewhat disillusioned with it!
