The (updated) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). Horse-riding and other dangerous activities are also actively encouraged.

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed. If you're a midwife, you can even get other midwives to furkle for you Grin

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

CD6! ARRRGGGGHHHHH!!!! Too early to POAS. Not drinking. AAARRGGGHHHHHH!!!

singing you could always POAS so that you know what a BFN looks like and won't have to go through the "is it BFP or a evap line"? GrinWink

I'd def make an apointment esk. Yes, many HCP seem to be a PITA. But you can "power on through" that!

Sorry you are having a shitty time josie

Yeah for drug snorting vallinna Grin

gormers · 05/11/2010 12:08

Oh my god - I watched the little house yesterday as well. Completely freaked me out!! I thought even if no-one tries to steal my baby and make out that I'm mad, then I'll actually just go mad and be an awful mother!!! But it is a great programme, looking forward to next week's episode!

Sorry to hear that retching has started. Happy to report that I haven't been sick for 2 more days now, so hopefully I'm over it!!

gormers · 05/11/2010 12:10

Oh, and some of us in the HCP world are nice!! We're not all awful!Wink Grin

BrassicaBabe · 05/11/2010 12:24

You are quite right gormers There are some lovely folks out there in the NHS. Yeah for 2 sick free days too! Grin

NervousNelly · 05/11/2010 12:25

dynababy I work for a bank in Edinburgh too Wink. Possibly the one you left, as it has a pretty good Matty package. 12 weeks full pay I think then SMP, but you get to keep the benefit element too, which is 15% of basic.

I actually got offered a job with another bank recently but turned it down due to TTC. It had an ok package but you aren't entitled to it immediately, so decided to stay put.

Josie glad to hear from you again. Mine are out until tomorrow night as I'm away tonight, but also I prefer them outside for bonfire night. Bit fed up of the mud already though and praying for snow Grin. So I'll be joining you in the early mornings next week. Grumble grumble.

Haven't heard of Little House. Did anyone watch the David Tennant series on BBC 1 the last few weeks - Single Father? I thought he was very good. Although the bit at the very end about a "planned" pregnancy made me roll my eyes. You'll know if you saw it!

BrassicaBabe · 05/11/2010 12:39

Oh, and I meant 6DPO, not CD6

takethatlady · 05/11/2010 15:12

bb aaaaaaaaaaargh!!! I hate the 2ww! But you're over half way through until the PIAR madness begins ... you'll get there! Just over half way through the 12ww wait here, which is better in a lot of ways and worse in others ...

Well done gormers on getting through the sickness! I'm just at the beginning.

2 dry-retching episodes today and one vomit-of-bile. I've figured out its worse when I'm hungry so I've spent the day eating Kipling's apple pies, which I haven't had since I was about ten, and which are surely going to contribute to all the weight I'm not meant to be gaining. Still got backache and corked-up colon but can't face the prune juice!

Was meant to go down to London (just over an hour on the train) to a friend's birthday/fireworks party. Really wanted to go but feel like crap and can't face it. Feel annoyed with myself for bailing, and for not being able to tell her why. Just used the kidney infection excuse to get out of chairing a panel at a conference tomorrow too. At least now I can just lie back, eat, and throw up when I feel like it. Might watch something shit on TV as DH won't get home until midnight. There must be a rom-com or something to pass the time ...

Glad other people were freaked out by The Little House! Didn't see the Tennant thing but I thought it looked good from the trailers. Waaaaaay too much baby stuff all over TV at the moment.

Miffles · 05/11/2010 15:49

Glad Gormers is feeling better, and kind of pleased TTL is getting the MS...but only cos you're happiest when you have symptoms! You'd only panic if you felt normal! Wink you know it's true!! Kidney infection a perfect excuse, though - wonder how long you can trot that one out before people get suspicious!

Help me please - I am so bored of waiting for AF - no spotting at all today. Completely AWOL. Had clomid since Mon and can't use it! Will try some shagging tonight - that may encourage it...

321sanitygone · 05/11/2010 17:03

Hey ladies
Sorry i've been awol for a bit. Sadly we did not get down to it after the pant snot as we have both just been too exhausted to even consdier it. However if my maths (dear god have started the maths already kipper my way please!!) is correct my fertile period only began yesterday so pant snot was a little early. Hubs has said he doesnt mind how soon it happens or what was the point of coming off the pill (i have this weird idea in my head that he was expecting a six month wait like before and that a quick one would scare the bejesus out of both of us) so iguess that means i can get down to being a total ttc freak!
I haven't had time to properly catch p with the 2 pages worth of posts i missed so i will have a read once the bubba is in bed. Hope those of you in the 2ww are surviving and those of you nearing afs they either come quick and put you out of your misery or dont come at all and there are positive tests all over the place xx

takethatlady · 05/11/2010 17:07

We need to send a search party out for all those missing AFs. There are about 3 of them missing, aren't there? Hopefully at least one of them is missing for the right reasons Wink

miffles I want to tell you you're wrong, but you know I can't Grin

321 think you need to shag during, not after, pant snot. And as far as I understand it pant snot is more reliable than maths Wink. Glad your DH is up for some more productive shagging!

Right. I have a doctor's appointment for next saturday morning, the earliest I can get. If I'd said it was an emergency I could have gone today, but I didn't think I could get away with that. I asked to see the femal GP at the practice in the hope that it'll be less embarrassing discussing my "bits" with her.
When I had problems as a teenager (actually remarkably similar, ERTD buggered off for about 10 weeks and I was really ill) my mum took me to the GP. Saw a locum and when he read my name he said something like "Aha. So your father was a fan of Felicity* somebody-or-other then. She's a porn star" Then we discussed my bits and bobs with him thinking about porn.

*I'm not really called Felicity, but my name is similar in that it's a real name, not unknown but not very common. And I like Felicity as a name!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 05/11/2010 19:51

Cringing for your teenage you Esk.

I am feeling irrationally irrational about the fact that this weeks Ugly Betty isn't on 4OD yet. I'mtoo sick to get out of bed and watch real TV though and I'm getting a little bored (oh yes the vomits kicked in properly this afternoon). I know I should go and complain on the pg people board, but the viroids are silent and the June thread is having another depressing day, so sorry complaining here instead (just keep the kipper away from me though).

Miffles · 05/11/2010 20:52

Ugly Betty was good this week. I love her! They have def made her a bit prettier though. Amanda has some classic lines. Hope you find it, NMCB and hang around here as long as you like. :)

Well done eskarina - hope you'll feel more relaxed knowing something is happening.

Got my next appt with the FC - 6th Dec. He's seeing us again to see how the clomid is doing. That's if I ever get to take the frigging thing!

SingingMog · 05/11/2010 21:03

Grrr to all the vomming going on. Don't go away and complain in another forum NMCB, you should be with your viroids when you need them!

I don't know how many DPO I am Miffles as this is first proper AF since stopping the pill. I am CD4 and in midst of PSW (pant snot wait). I suppose I could pee on one...... [hopeful face]. Am liking Brassica's idea about POAS. Just said to DH "Do you think I should pee on a stick?" and he just laughed at me and then said I should give it a few minutes (he has been in there making smells). At least he didn't say no!!!

Glad to hear you got an appointment Eskarina. I hope the HCP is lovely and nice.

Think I would get OK maternity package if I were to become upduffed. Maybe I should check these things out as prob should know about it rather than being Confused.

Buster (cat) is very very scared of all the fireworks and is hiding in a corner of the room, poor thing.

Eskarina · 05/11/2010 21:23

Loving the phrase "upduffed". Grin
sympathy for the sickness to TTL and NMCB but at least it's good sickness. Grin Don't go sloping off to the pregnant people board. Keep us company here!

See, I have nothing to say, just wandering by..

takethatlady · 05/11/2010 21:42

Nothing to say here either except nmcb how can we go anywhere else? The June thread freaks me out. Pregnancies going wrong in ways I never knew they could at alarming rates, and too many people to keep up with, and always more horrible news. Hopefully after the first trimester it'll be easier (if we're still there. Touch wood. )

And esk, Shock at your doctor! I'm surprised you've ever gone back to a medical professional after that!

Just watched The Blind Side which was crap but made me cry, I hope because I'm pregnant and not because I have had a taste implant. DH is meant to be back from the Somme but the coach has broken down an hour away from Calais, and they've missed the ferry, and the school he teaches at it north of Cambridge, so there's a drive from Dover to school (and then back home again) to go. He left at 4 this morning and the new ETA is 4 tomorrow morning! Apparently the kids (13 and 14) are turning into a monstrous horde ...

OP posts:
Miffles · 05/11/2010 22:11

Crap about broken down coach TTL....he's welcome to call in here on the way through if he needs a loo stop...Folkestone...

Any bowel movement yet TTL? And NMCB - found a bung?! Wink

Mog - if you're waiting for pant snot and only 4 days from start of AF, then you're minus DPO at the mo! Lol at DH's and smells...all too familiar with that in the Miffles household too.

I now have an official pee pot. Sadly it is not a ramekin Sad. DH is being strict on eating (I tend to get a bit calorie happy in the supermarket) so wasn't keen on the Gu idea. It did sound a bit odd when I tried to insist it had to be a Gu ramekin! Anyway, I now have a washed out jelly pot Grin. Hoping it won't need to see me through too many pees!! So am I PIAJP? Not that I am right now (have I mentioned I'm STILL WAITING?!!)

BB - when are you testing?

twowoulddo · 05/11/2010 22:55

Hi all,

apologies for no personals as I am v v sick, poorly, sorry for self.... blah blah!

Anyway after stepping in here on Friday I somehow accidentally just purchased a CB Fertility monitor on Amazon.... I'll get my coat...

Blush

I'm viewing it as my TTC PA.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 06/11/2010 08:28

Ha ha 2WD it's funny how easy it is to 'accidentally' buy things online Grin. No need to get your coat, someone who hasn't got a major fish aversion while be along to kipper you shortly Smile

Off to the inlaws fot the weekend. Wish me luck for a) the 3 hour train ride and b) telling them about jelly bean. Ekk! Grin Also telling my parents tomorrow, but Mum knows we're trying so they shouldn't be to surprised.

Eskarina · 06/11/2010 08:30

Grin Twowoulddo Stick around. You'll make me feel better about my membership of Fertility Friend, my daily nemesis. Smile Sorry you're feeling poorly

So, in an effort to increase the fortunes of the Clearblue empire, I POAexpensiveS this morning. I don't know why I thought it would be better than the ebay cheapies as at 17DP'O' if I'm pg then surely anything should be able to tell. BFN of course.

BrassicaBabe · 06/11/2010 09:08

When am I testing? Not at 7DPO I can tell you! HmmBlush

LOL for twowoulddo and her TTC PA Grin

SingingMog · 06/11/2010 12:26

Lol at PIAJP Miffles! I got excited the other day because I found some ramekins in the back of one of the kitchen cupboards. Sad, I know.

twowoulddo has made me feel a bit better about joining FF. It was down to your influence Eskarina Grin I feel like I should be doing something since official ttc not till Feb, although this is because DH wants baby to be oldest in school year. Check due date predictor on FF and found out we could start in Jan (although did have to guess ov date). Kipper please.

Hope the HCPs manage to work out where your AF is Eskarina. Poobags to BFN from expensive stick.

I have been tidying this morning as DH doing revision class at school for a couple of extra hours pay. Excitement when another cat came into the garden and Buster wanted to get him, but glass was in the way!

Hope your DH does not suffer too badly with the hoardes of children on the coach TTL. It is bad enough when on schedule!

Good luck telling in-laws about the bean NMCB.

Right, think I just heard car. Going to make myself look like I've been v busy....

Miffles · 06/11/2010 13:20
SingingMog · 06/11/2010 13:44

DH would be freaking out if he read that!!

Eskarina · 06/11/2010 15:14

Put up that bunting ladies, the ERTD has arrived! Though I can hardly call it an ERTD when I'm pleased to see it. Perhaps my expensive stick did some good afterall Grin

Daft thing is I had a bit of a chat with my mum about it this morning, to see if she remembered any more about what the conclusion was around why I was so ill when I was a teenager. She didn't and I think I've just worried her that she'll never have grandchildren Sad We're not normally people to talk about this kind of thing, so now I feel like I've made a fuss out of nothing. How does one inform one's mother that period has arrived? Blush

SingingMog Step away from FF! As soon as you get suckered in to putting your temperature in each day, you think it won't matter if you peek at your stats, then you end up cursing and pleading with the fecker to tell you that you're ovulating/chances are good/get a greeen traffic light.

(says she who's googled CBFMs today and is watching about 10,000 of them on ebay. Is it manky to have a second hand pee monitor? I did though resist buying a copy of TCOYF in a charity shop today, although that was mostly because I couldn't face looking either the punk-y looking teenager or sweet old lady on the desk in the eye whilst buying such a thing. And I thought £3.49 was a but steep for a dog-eared book from Oxfam)

I shall be dosing myself up on Evening Primrose Oil and grapefruit juice for the next however long, in an attempt to get some pant snot this month. I only seem to get any right at the end of the cycle, and then only pathetic watery stuff, no EW in there at all.
