The (updated) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). Horse-riding and other dangerous activities are also actively encouraged.

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed. If you're a midwife, you can even get other midwives to furkle for you Grin

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Welcome twowould We're hanging on for takethat's tickets because she will be too upduffed to go! GrinWink

twowoulddo · 04/11/2010 12:16

NMCB Ha! Thanks yes I recognise your username too. I popped on here when first started TTCing as didn't want to publicise it widelf on the other place I go. Also, I run a business that is in my sig and didn't want customers googling me to find out about my latest JS activity LOL!

twowoulddo · 04/11/2010 12:18

Hi BB, good tactic! I have 8 for Wembley so if I land myself in a similar predicament I'll head here first Wink

I sold my tickets for the Circus tour as my daughter was only 6 weeks old. Couldn't bear to leave her! Have seen them at Milton keynes, 02 on NYE and back in the day at the first gig post Robbie. Have never seen the Robster and admittedly not a fan but will be a great show nonetheless!

takethatlady · 04/11/2010 13:01

Right twowoulddo that's it, you're officially not allowed to leave this thread now Smile

Well hasn't it been a busy afternoon in here then?! Grin Guess half you viroids have been off daydreaming about Take That all afternoon (though I can't figure out why, but that's just me).

SingingMog · 04/11/2010 19:55

Wish I had been dreaming about Take That all afternoon. Instead I got teenagers to sing "Aint no mountain high enough" and disappointed a Year 11 when I told him his composition sounded too much like Superstition by Stevie Wonder so he has to start again!

Hello to twowoulddo, glad you like Take That too. One of my happiest teenage mornings was when I woke up to find Mark Owen's face right on top of mine. Then I realised one of my posters had fallen down. Smile

I think you should not worry about the flying milano. Just go for it. Kippers are at the ready....

Those tests are still calling to me. If DH didn't know how many I had bought I would go an poas just to see if they worked. I am going to be a nightmare in the 2ww. You guys'll need to use a whale instead of a kipper!

PMSL at "getting your sparkliest shag cape on, downing your favourite tipple and riding your DP with randy abandon" TTL!!! (V impressed with wifely actions, I also did well last night giving DH a foot massage and not complaining when he played Call of Duty for ages).

Hope you took your cape and flew with the pant snot 123 Grin!!!

BB hope ttc is giving your mind a bit of a break this evening, sending cosy hugs from rainy and windy Preston.

Right, should really finish wedding thank you cards. It has been... Blush... just over 2 months already.

NervousNelly · 04/11/2010 21:44

Hello, just popping in to say hi. Only about 2DPO so it's been a long wait already. Wish I'd spent the afternoon dreaming of Take That, or anyone to be honest. Instead I was at the dentist getting fillings. TBH I don't mind the dentist as such, it's the sharp needle in the gum first that makes me feel . I then came home with a totally frozen upper lip/check so drinking a cup of tea was interesting Hmm.

Got to go back for another one next week too. Boo hiss.

Welcome to twowoulddo; you'll be at home here!

Lots of kippers abounding recently. Wink. Naughty!!

Hope everyone's well. If mad as usual :)

NervousNelly · 04/11/2010 21:45

check = cheek obviously! Maybe the anaesthetic affects my typing/spelling too??

Eskarina · 05/11/2010 06:54

Welcome twowoulddo

Singingmog So funny you want to POAS just to see if they work! Having been on the 2ww for 4 weeks now(!) I can tell you that POAS loses its appeal somewhat after a while, but at the same time is still addictive.

I promised my friend that I really really would go to the Dr this month if AF messed me around. Think I'd better make an apt this morning, although the experience people on here have had with HCP's makes me wonder if it's worth it. I suppose at least there'll be a record in the system that things are not going to plan. Still no sign of AF. Got another BFN yesterday. Angry

To make it worse I keep waking up at 5am so my temp charts (naughty, I know) are all over the place. They do seem to have dropped today so I suppose it could be on its way. sigh.

cremegg · 05/11/2010 06:58

hello twowoulddo sounds like you'll fit right in :)

ta for that link ttl that you sent to milano, i was burying my head in the sand not sure about flying and im back to the sunny UK in Dec...have got this cycle and next to have at crack at ttc (and obv after xmas!) having already Blush looked at dates for dec and best days will be xmas eve, xmas day and boxing day, when i will be at MILs with 6 nieces/nephews bounding in our room at any time! unlikely!

off to have those cocktails this eve, not exactly sure what day PO I am, could be 7 or 4... keep telling DH thats theres no point testing for at least another week... but not actually thinking that in my head Hmm

congrats for your sis bb... i think you did v well not to sound Envy as i KNOW i would!

Dynababy · 05/11/2010 07:08

Morning all! Thanks for replies on my paris drinking ladies .. I'll go with just a few glasses since your all sure it can do no harm to any imaginary bean!! Looking forward to it, flying back from India this afternoon cannot ait to get home to DH!!

NmoreChoc I don't think I know you .... but would be funny if I did know you in RL somehow!! How do you like Stirling?

So how are we all? Miffles are you on the drugs yet?

BB have you resisted poas so far? Really hoping this is your month. Same to all viroids! TTL are you free from UTI now? Feeling any better about it?

Who is all on 2ww, shall we do a count so we can count down to BF somethings??

I'm on CD8.. and tension is mounting although i don't really feel prego! I did last month and was 5 days late so not sure if chemical or something .. or maybe just over thinking the whole thing Blush

I have just recently found out the maternity policy at my work (started back in Jan and didn't ask at interview although desperately wanted to!!) and am shocked to find out its statutory only ... that's a joke!!! I work for a bank and came from another one where I'd been 9 years and the package there was fantastic in comparison! Do you mind me asking where you work and whether your package is better I can't help feeling cheated (and like I've got A LOT) of saving to do Sad

Dynababy · 05/11/2010 07:09

Meant to say Eskarina really hope you get something soon.... being in limbo is no fun!

takethatlady · 05/11/2010 07:20

dynababy that's crap - there's really nothing but statutory even at the beginning? I work at a uni so it's pretty good - full pay for 8 weeks, then half pay until six months, then statutory. The half pay isn't too bad because obviously it includes reduced pension/student loan payments, etc, and with the government £120 a week on top it's not loads less than I normally get paid. Still, I've got to go back after six months.

Clear of UTIs now, I think (got to go and pee in another medical ramekin today to check). Just had the worst night of sleep ever though, with the most excruciating lower back pain I've ever had in my life. Got up to sleep in the spare room so I could cry without disturbing DH, but he realised I was missing and came in to find me rocking back and forth like a madwoman. Poor him - he's gone to the Somme on a school trip today and they go there and back in a day, so he had to be up at 4am.

Not too worried about the pain because I think it's caused by the chronic constipation I've got - haven't been to the loo for a week Blush

Good luck with the wedding thank yous mog

nervous I hate the dentist. You get free care when you're preg so I'm waiting for my certificate to come through and then I'm getting the works. But I know I need a filling ...

eskarina definitely go to the doctor. Irregular cycles are such a pain in the arse :)

OP posts:
cremegg · 05/11/2010 07:22

am a lowly contract teacher here dyna so prob only get stat up until end of contract.. which seems pretty crap in Oz generally, and there doesnt seem to be same rights for DHs either... and we wont get baby bonus or child payments here as only on temporary visa until nov 2012...not exactly grand timing but hey ho! ;)
thats a shitter about the bank... does it get better the longer you're been there? cant believe how bad it can be, what do these companies want exactly? people to not procreate?!

JosieSmith1 · 05/11/2010 08:33

Well hello everyone!

There's far too much for me to catch up on I'm afraid (haven't been on in 2 weeks!) If there are any BFPs or anything else I should know about please let me know!

Having a bit of a shitty time at the moment, feeling a bit stressed out but I'll get through it. Slap bang in the middle of 2ww but again not very hopeful. I have a confession - I have been charting my temps, although it turned out to be useful as I very obviously oved on day 12, so it looks like I have a 16 day luteal phase, and we have been JSing at possibly the wrong times so I have learned something from it at least!

Hope everyone is doing fabulously!

xx

Miffles · 05/11/2010 09:31

Hey everyone,

Missed a day with work and an evening out. Glad most people are accounted for now

Eskarina - glad you're thinking of going to the docs. Sounds like a good plan. Even if AF does start soon after, it's like buying the tampons and drinking to encourage a BFP! It also helps to feel a bit more in control.

Dynababy - thanks for asking about drugs. I have them in my possession, but need AF to start and she's disappeared again. Some spotting on Tue and Wed but nothing since. So still waiting. I work for the NHS 2 days a week, and they have good maternity scheme. But I on;y get 2 days worth! Then 3 days I'm at a private firm. I assume I only get the bare minimum - statutory. Need to ask really....can't imagine it'll be anything more. It doesn't seem much money, does it?

TTL - glad the UTI is improved, but sounds horrible with back pain waking you up and causing you to cry. Golly. Your DH must be a bit worried for you. Lots of prunes and maybe some fibrogel to get things moving...

LOL at Mog at waking up with Mark Owen on her face! And thank you. I now have "Ain't no mountain" going round and round my head! Remind me what DPO you are?

Yay - it's Friday! What are weekend plans? Mine involve lots of knicker checking, praying for AF... Wink

vallinnapod · 05/11/2010 09:39

Hey viriods,

Just lurking here, sniffing away! Got acupuncture tonight so just moving along slowly Smile

Miffles - it's like a Vicks Sinex thingy so you just do one squirt up each nostril three times a day.

Welcome 2WD - as you will see I am flying in the face of all this thread stands for Wink

Esk - plase don't be put off! My GP was absolutely fab, yes I have had some bad experiences elsewhere but it just makes you uber prepared for your next encounter. Make a list of everything you want to ask, and the possible answers and your responses to these. Believe me, you mind goes blank the second you sit in front of a dr!!

TTL glad the UTI has finally buggered off!

Don't be too down josie xx

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 05/11/2010 10:32

Dyna thinking it's not likely I know you in RL. I tended to hang out with other backpackers and engineers when I was in Edinburgh. Still yI did go into a couple of banks, so maybe you cashed my cheque or something Grin. I like Stirling well enough to want to keep living here.

TTL I've been the complete opposite of you the last day. If we could meet in the middle some how, we'd both be a lot more comfortable! When I was bunged up with DS the midwife suggested prune juice (it is revolting though).

Welcome back Josie Grin Sorry to hear you've been missing your windows. Just remember you have a far better chance now that you know to jump your DH's bones several days earlier.

Vallinna good work with the sniffy drugs. This thread doesn't at all sound like a bunch of druggies Grin

Aloha to everyone else. Enjoy you lovely wet and windy Friday.

JosieSmith1 · 05/11/2010 11:06

Thanks NoMore, I know exactly when to do the deed now! Grin

Thanks Vallinna, I will be ok soon, just really tired as working a lot of overtime and horsey is in now so early mornings and late nights but once I adjust I'll be much less stressed Smile

I'll try and catch up throughout the day

takethatlady · 05/11/2010 11:22

Good to see josie back and with a new shag schedule, and to see that vallinna is sniffing and snorting with the best of them :)

nmcb really sorry you're the opposite of me. Feeling rough today - knackered, retching every now and again, and recovering from the pain. Not looking forward to the prune juice! If only I could put vodka in it I reckon I could do it...

Plus I watched The Little House on itvplayer last night. Did anyone see that? I thought it was okay (apart from the fact that the DH in it decides to get his wife preggo by forfeiting the contraception ONCE! I think we all know that's not a good bet!). But then I went to bed and had horrendous dreams about people stealing my baby, giving it drugs and blaming it on me, etc ... I wish the next one was out so I can watch it and be done with it now!

mog I have had that Owen experience myself Grin

JosieSmith1 · 05/11/2010 11:26

Hi TTL, it's good to be back Smile. I am on strike at work today as the boss lady isn't in so I'm gonna try and catch up throughout the day, while also doing my latest and final assignment [shh]

Talking about weird dreams, I had a dream about Freddie Kruge the other night, totally unprovoked, but when I woke up it was really windy and as we have a tree outside the house, the leaves were falling and hitting the windows and front door so I think the scratching noise subconsciously made me think of Freddie Kruger, hence the dream! Fnny how the mind works. Had a zombie dream the next night, was awful, woke up needing hugs in middle of the night Blush

Miffles · 05/11/2010 11:52

Josie - really glad you've got today to get on top of things. I'd forgotten how much work had dumped on you - you did warn us you may be preoccupied. Well done for keeping as calm as you can.

I dreamt we were burgled last night - and I disturbed them and they tried to attack me. I couldn't scream - eventually managed to get something out and DH hugged me. Hate bad dreams.

takethatlady · 05/11/2010 11:59

There must be something in the air. All these bad dreams going around! Hugs to all us scaredycats :)
