Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed. If you're a midwife, you can even get other midwives to furkle for you

Ok...so I'm still spotting with no proper AF. Wish the red-fecker would just come properly, this is doing my head in. Have now got nausea (but think this is due to cold and swallowing too much mucus...yuck!). And todays new crazy symptom is tingling in my hands and feet. Like pins and needles. But think this is cos I slept on DH pillows after he went to work. THey looked comfier than mine, but were way too high! Might have buggered my neck.

I never get ID'd in the UK. Sooooo unfair! Clearly I look over 25. Hmmph.

I have just stopped being ID'd. Did until last year (then 28) but now...no more. Was a sad day. Clearly am over the hill. Thanks for another of your classic stories TTL - could just picture it - all the shouting going on and you getting redder and redder!

So Thursday - that's not that long. My tip for not testing? Since we know FMU is the best...set your alarm 10 minutes too late tomorrow, then you'll be running behind and not have time to do it! I'm not tempted once the FMU is gone. I don't have an ov day, so currently am CD25. Seems v unlikely when I actually type it. But one day. One day it will be true! Keep the faith!

I went for a bob in the end with the back a teeny bit higher. It?s not massively short ? a bit past my chin but not quite to my shoulders, kind of collarbone length . I loved it up until I attempted to do it myself, then I actually cried as it all flicked out and I couldn?t get it to behave, but after a stern talking to by DH and being attacked with hair straighteners ?tis all good [hgrin], and DH loves it. His first words were ?you look gorgeous?, how sweet! Have also persuaded him that GHDs are a valid investment and not at all a luxury [hgrin]

josie I seriously could not live without my GHDs. I have wavy hair. Not in a sexy pre-Raphaelite kind of way, and not in a way where the waves can be made to curl and look deliberate. Just in a some-bits-are-straight-some-are-curly-some-are-wavy way, which makes me look horrendous. Blow drying is not enough.

GHDs rock. Best thing ever! Your DH sounds sweet, Josie - its always worrying when we change something, whether they'll like it or not.

Think of the investment in pay-per-use terms. If you use them every day how long would it take you to get them down to costing £1 or 50p or even 5p?

I have a curling wand that's still at about £75/use (got it for my wedding) but my GHDs are getting very cheap/use.

Thanks TTL and Miffles. DH always said he hates short hair but it's still quite long so he was quite surprised, as was I actually. I was worried I'd look too masculine (huge self esteem issues [hgrin]) but I still look and feel girly, and have enough hair left that I can put extensions in if I fancy a change.

GHDs are so expensive I really can't justify them but I neeeeeeed some!!! My boss is going to bring hers in tomorrow and do my hair so I can see how much better than my current straighteners they are [hgrin]

Hair is so important. Bit of a revelation here but I had no hair for nearly twenty years. Childhood alopecia. It all grew back three years ago. I now have longish hair that reaches level with my bra. I dare not colour it or perm it cos i'm scared it might fall out. My mum said yesterday (whilst watching Coronation Street): Why don't you have your hair cut into a style like Becky MacDonald's? I'm not offended but does that mean she doesn't like how my hair is now? Twenty frigging years with no hair and now she seems to be suggesting that i could "do more with my hair".

Josie - be warned. Once you have used GHDs you will never want to go back. Never. Nothing ever matches up to them!

KC - that sucks! I'm sure she didn't mean it at all like that, but not the most sensitive comment in the world. [hshock]

KC it really is so important. Obviously not the same as you, but I have really really low self esteem and when I was in school I had it cut into an absolutely horrendous cut and I cried my eyes out at school as everyone took the mick out of me and my confidence plummeted and ever since then I've been really self-conscious about my hair and it's been the same style for the past 7 years (since it grew back out) so it was a big big step to trust my hairdresser to change the style but I'm really glad I did it, though having hair as thick as mine means it's difficult to straighten, hence the GHDs.

Miffles I thought that might be the case but I have my heart set on them now! I have a reputation for getting what I want [hblush] (except the obvious but no-one knows I want it [hgrin])

Good news about the lack of periods today. Def not going anby where til Mif's and Nervous have wee'd on sticks.

Am weeing on a Dr's stick in the morning to make sure the line is stronger [hgrin] It makes getting out of bed early sound very worth while for a change (am NOT a morning person!).

KC if I were you I wouldn't want to touch/jinx my hair either!
I am rather happy that my fat, thick, random hair has now been tamed so that it curls and looks good (and a bit less huge) with just a bit of finger twirling. I'll be the one looking good when the power goes out - evil[hgrin]
It's good you're happy with your new do though Josie. I've cried after many a hair butchering cut so feel your pain.

TTL, can't believe the Sainsbury's checkout people did that! Is nasty! The last time I was ID-ed I was about 29 I think. Was with DH and they said if I was paying for beer would need ID, but if he paid was OK. This obviously didn't go down well with DH!!!

Crow am sure will be easier when you're in your own place. You love the virtual hugs really [hsmile]

Josie, so glad you like your short hair. I only ever cried once after a hair cut after they made it go a horrific colour!

josie the same thing happened to me. When I was 12 I wanted my hair like Danni from Neighbours (it was a short blonde bob). I went to the hairdressers and ended up with a short back and sides (I kid you not) which was gelled into curls on top. A couple of really bitchy girls at school pretended they thought it was really nice (when actually they were taking the piss out of me behind my back) so I actually had it cut like that a second time, until I overheard them triumphing about it. [hblush] and [hangry]

Worse thing was, it was straight before I cut it, and it's never been straight again! But we learn our lessons :)

You're going to LOVE GHD's. Remember if they break you just take them back to the hairdressers and they get you a new pair. So it's a real investment!

PS - KC11 I wouldn't be mucking about with my hair either in your shoes. But congrats on getting lots of hair! That must have been a pretty awesome surprise. [Sure you look equally gorgeous with and without though]

Oh TTL I'm supermarket shopping tomorrow so that lemon meringue pie may still be in the offing. Though now I'm tending towards a self-saucing choc fudge pudding... (dribble everywhere emoticon)

singingmog - last time I was ID'd I was with my DH who clearly is old enough. I said - ok, no ID on me, but Mr Miffles can pay and he is clearly over 25. They then insisted on ID'ing him to make sure that was ok, but he didn't have a photo driving licence. He was mad!! We were buying a chicken to roast, with all the veg and dessert and a single bottle of white wine. Hardly the stuff of underage drinkers!!

TTL - are you my best friend from school?! Actually, I know you're not, as she is 26 weeks pg, but she had the exact same thing with her hair. She had a lovely straight bob, then had a disaster at the hairdressers (never did find out what it was meant to look like!). Short back and side with curls on top. She has always been curly since then! From one day to the next. Even when long, now, it is almost ringlets. [hhmm]

Drooling over choc fudge pudding - but how is it self-saucing? Sounds a bit rude...
