The (updated) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). Horse-riding and other dangerous activities are also actively encouraged.

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed. If you're a midwife, you can even get other midwives to furkle for you Grin

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

haha miffles he is away with the boys - not sure I'd want to gatecrash Wink. I'll just have to jump him the second he comes in the door Grin.

I'm with you re the head in sand. But the period pains are hard to ignore

vallinnapod · 18/10/2010 16:34

Afternoon all, here I am getting jealous of people who have periods....oh well, 2 and a bit weeks and I get a fake one and then the fun begins Confused

Read all about the egg collection at the w/e...let's just say, when the nurse told me it was seda5tion not general anaesthetic I Shock but then he told me it contained something that makes you forgot. Can't remember what it is called but sound exactly like when they reduced my elbow back after I dislocated it - I refer it it as my rhohynol moment Grin I queased at 'needle through wall of vagina' - have my legs clamped together as I type. Been very pensive about it all...not just shed loads of hormones, needles, invasion etc but the stupid amounts of money too. All of which will seem negiliable if it results in a baby but astronomical if BFN Sad Must stop worrying about something I have little control over.

Pissed off with FB today. School friends talking about trying to get kids into secondary schools. This is even more Shock when you consider we are all 29/30!! Still I'm thinking they may have had the right idea Wink My year was ridiculous...2 girls had babies at 14 and I swear me and 4 of my friends are pretty much the only ones left now without kids!!

takethatlady · 18/10/2010 16:49

Oh those people are so annoying vallinna. Two girls from my class at school have four children (each, obviously). We're 28! Shock How have they had the time? They just pop them out, usually by accident, whenever they feel like it Grin Grrrr....

Needle through the wall of the vagina sounds fucking terrible, but not as bad as human through the wall of the vagina, which is basically what we're all (crazily?) hoping for on here!

Last cycle I got a very very very faint BFP on 11DPO followed by a 'Pregnant 1-2 weeks' on 12DPO. Lost it at 16DPO and looking back the signs were there from 14 DPO.

Miffles This time I'm slightly less sure where I am, since I think I got the very very very faint BFP on 9DPO (and boobs were hurting 8DPO). But the thick positive line I got on the Tesco test on Saturday (11DPO) way surpasses anything I got last cycle. It's the clearest BFP I've ever had and makes me think I'm further along than I thought. If not, I'm only 13DPO Still, I'll be happier if I make it past tomorrow as that'll be 5 days since BFP and that's when I lost it last time, if that makes sense?

If Pee on a Doughnut refers to a ring doughnut that sounds like a sport! Or an art form!

Oh vallina sorry for being so insensitive. Yours is a much tougher road :(. I'm sure it's of no comfort whatsoever, but I have a gorgeous IVF nephew. He turns 6 months this week and he's amazing! I think it was all a bit painful for my sister, I won't lie. But she'd definitely argue it was worth it in the end :)

Also - because of where she lives, she went to the US for her treatment, so had to buy flights, hotels etc on top of medical bills. I think the cost was $20k+ Shock. I sincerely hope the UK is a bit cheaper than that???? If not, we'll all start searching for loose change down the back of the sofa to help you out :)

Sorry for the diatribe Blush.

takethatlady · 18/10/2010 16:50

Whoops, retrospectively added miffles in the wrong place :)

Ohh TTL we're on milestone watch together tomorrow. [hgrin]

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 18/10/2010 17:20

Have decided that my laziness this afternoon is balanced out by the fact I was going to walk into town to buy cornflour to make a lemonmeringue pie. Didn't get the exercise, but also not getting the sugar filled pie, so I'm fine [hgrin]

(Yes I've found the halloween emoticons. I especially like the hangry one. The spelling makes me think of TTL's hungry boobs . Hope you don't get hangry boobs)

Owie for your needle in the fanjo Vallinna. Mine went crossed eyed just reading about it! [hblush] -with crossed watering eyes

frakkinstein · 18/10/2010 18:06

Needle through fanjo wall? Owwwww.

vallinnapod · 18/10/2010 19:25

Loving the Halloween emoticons Grin

Nelly you weren't insensitive at all! Whatever we are all going through it is tough for each one of us! Not quite $20k but if we don't get on their special programme it will be about £6500 - eekkk! Who needs holidays anyway?! Thanks for the story about your sister...I like hearing these things Grin

Frak DH VERY keen on twins....being the one who doesn't have to carry them 'n' all! I am sort of...one maternity leave for two babies would leave me feeling a little cheated Wink If we get the option we will have to embryos put back (fingers crossed we make some!) but if you are at risk from ovarian hyper stimulation syndrome they will one put one in as PG accelerates it.

milanomum · 18/10/2010 19:27

TTL I actually thought about how I hadn't specified tea-wee earlier - i meant without milk ov! I need to drink more. Things sound really positive, but it's so hard to let yourself go and accept it. I'm waiting till 8 weeks before I tell family and 12 weeks for anyone else. I am pessimistic optimist, if that makes sense? You should count from when you had your last af because that's how they 'measure' pregnancy clinically. So if, like me, it was about a month ago, you are actually 1 month pregant! :o
Vallinna that sounds painful but I'm sure they know what they're doing .
I keep thinking about twins for some reason and am hoping it's not my body sending me subliminal messages because I don't know how I'd cope Confused

NervousNelly · 18/10/2010 19:59

Well just to keep you all on the edge of your seats (what do you mean, you weren't there already, hmph?)...

.... since my earlier posting, no more spotting or smearing or smudging, on tissue or in the gusset Wink

Still think it's just a temporary reprieve, but sometimes your body really does like to play tricks on you. Mother nature is a [henvy] (that's a witch in case you were wondering)

I'm still opening the wine though.

BrassicaBabe · 18/10/2010 20:21

Helloooo P-stick pusher here! Come on girls you know you want some...!

Yeah for you pg ladies and your symptoms! [hgrin]

PMSL for miffles peeing on doughnuts! [hgrin]

[hshock] for "needle through wall of vagina" [hshock] vallinna. Time to step away from google me thinks! [hgrin]

Fingers crossed for nervous and miffles 2ww'ing.

CD2 for me plus 100mg of clomid. 10 days until serious JSing....

Dynababy · 18/10/2010 20:38

Evening all!

Milano pre-seed veerrry intresting.. will see how we go this month and if not copious in pant snot dept may have to get some!

Brassica 100 tests!!! OMG! Your a good girl guide! On the veg pots that's a great idea as very healthy low in cals and tasty - mmmm!

Good luck Nervous Nelly and Miffles you never know - fingers crossed.

Sticky thoughts with TTL and NMCB!! Grin

baby2b · 18/10/2010 21:22

Just wanted to say hi and use a halloween emoticon [hgrin] [hblush] [hshock] [hangry] [henvy] [hhmm] or two, lol.

Hope everyone is doing well and that the beans are still very sticky! Grin Oh, he looks sad without his hat!

SingingMog · 18/10/2010 21:56

Needles anywhere make me faint! Really feel for you vallinna. One of my friends had two gorgeous twins through IVF on third attempt.

My ankle went a bit numbish so have spent a few hours at A&E. They couldn't find what was wrong with me and after lots of questionning decided to get me to wee in a pot and preg test me!! DH looked v nervous, he doesn't want to get me up duffed (love this term!) till Feb really. Anyway, was BFN - not surprising really since only just stopped pill and have no idea of "real" cycle yet. Still, never thought I'd do my first ever preg test in that situation! Didn't know what I should think when doc was doing it.

Miffles · 18/10/2010 22:03

Evening evening evening!

Had a pleasant one went to see my mum and popped in to say hi to my pg sister (we all live v close!). They're a bit worried about me, as know we've had appt and are having trouble getting pg, but I've not wanted to give details. But they are being v understanding and giving me space.

Vallinna - oooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!! [hshock] That is truely ooooooooowwwwwww!!! We'll hold your hand through it all. Just please don't squeeze too hard. In fact, whilst it's happening, you could imagine us all standing around your bed offering inane comments words of encouragement.

I googled to the cost of IVF down here (South East). I would get 2 goes through my PCT, but (ever the optimist) if i needed more reckon we should start saving now! But it is nowhere near £6500....

Nelly - sounds maybe possibly could be hopeful?! Hmm. Mine seems to be doing the same as you - no particular smearing at the mo. And I first had a smear of blood on Friday. Bit Sat. Bit Sun. More today, but still only on wiping. Turned down disprin for my sore throat as thought I could be. How daft is that - googling prices for private IVF and STILL thinking I could be upduffed!! Kipper please! [hblush]

Loved the mother nature is a [henvy] comment.

Pleased to hear you're back on the clomid BB - let the good times roll!!

Miffles · 18/10/2010 22:06
NervousNelly · 18/10/2010 22:23

Oh miffles you have more restraint than me. Once I'd decided I was having wine, there was no going back [hblush]. It was a fairly small glass though, honest. I'm actually a bit too scared to pee now in case of what I find. That's bad, isn't it??? Kipper please. [hgrin]

Miffles · 18/10/2010 22:29

not restraint. Barking bonkers! I would have gone for the wine....not sure why not disprin! Ah! Stoopid stoopid. At least you're actually due - when are you going to test?

NervousNelly · 18/10/2010 22:40

I suspect I won't need to :( I'm sure by tomorrow the spotting will have resumed (I normally get at least 3 days worth) or full on red fecker. Tomorrow I'll be 14DPO but I'd like to wait a couple of days, as I'm sure by then I'll be officially back to CD1.

Plus I'm always in a rush in the morning, can't see me having time to PIAR as well [hhmm]

takethatlady · 18/10/2010 23:10

Hello ladies, loving the Halloween emoticons [hgrin] - don't know if that one worked or not...

I would love to count from the first day of my last cycle milano, but since that was August 18th that would make me 9 weeks pregnant! As there's no way that's true I will have to guess I'm around 4 weeks. Holding my breath for milestone day, for both me and you nmcb. You should have made that lemon meringue pie. And you should have shared! mmm mmmm

brassica whoop whoop for the clomid. Hopefully it will work its magic. You might conceive your baby on Halloween. This is what it will look like: [hsmile] Grin

PMSL @ 'hangry boobs' NMCB. They're not hungry anymore. I still can't believe no-one agreed with me about that! At least I can keep mog, miffles and their pregnant ankles company in the loony bin [hwink]

hallo ladies :)

Not been around for a while, just, well - not been in the right frame of mind!

Congrats to Milanomum, NMCB and TTL!! Thinking sticky thoughts for you!

Hugs to BB.

Welcome to the newbies!

Well, I'm now on CD32 after my MC - couple of strong AF type cramps last night, but still no sign of the cow Hmm no sign of anything else either ... so my body having a blip I suppose. There's no chance I could be PG anyway, we only managed to JS once this cycle (due to no real privacy in the house) and even then we decided to stop before we could finish Sad but hopefully we'll be getting our own place very very sooon!

I've also had my depression return, although today is a good day (maybe that's why I've come out of hiding :))

I hope everyone else is well!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 19/10/2010 09:38

Ach Crow have you not heard?! This thread has become the sloppy kiss, group hug friendly thread, so come here and have a hug and a sloppy wet kiss [hgrin]

Well today I'm 5+2 weeks. I've been 5weeks then 5+1 weeks, so if I get to the end of today bleed free, I will finally admit that I am upduff with a sticky bean. It'll be nice running for the loo just to wee and not to gusset check!

Hope everyone else is having a good day

takethatlady · 19/10/2010 10:36

Early congratulations nomore on making it to milestone day. I don't really know where I am in my cycle but since it's 5 days since my BFP that'll do for me as a milestone. Did a preg test last night and it came up 'Pregnant' within about 30 seconds, which is very fast for me, and then spent an absolute age deciding it was still '1-2 weeks'. That seemed hopeful since it obviously was considering '2-3 weeks' :)

I had to go to Sainsbury's to get the test, in a very weird part of the country between work and home. DH wanted a couple of beers, so I was buying two bottles of Stella and a pregnancy test [hgrin]. Then the silly woman at the till said 'Oh my God I don't know if I should serve you. Would you serve her?' (to the woman behind, who said she would). Then she yelled out across the whole store, 'Mandy, would you ask this woman for ID or not? I just don't know if I should ask her? You can't really tell can you?' Mandy looked me up and down and said 'No, I wouldn't bother' [hangry]. So she didn't ask me for ID, but then Mandy said, 'Out of interest, how old are you?' I said I was 28, and she said, 'yeah, I would have guessed 27 or something'. And then they gave me a lecture on how difficult it is now you have to ask people for ID if they look under 25. The whole time the rest of the store is staring at me and my underage booze and preg tests. Argh! [hblush]

Alternating boob hunger today - right boob at the moment, but left boob earlier. Don't care as long as the tests keep saying yes. DH is starting to believe it now. He's gone all smiley and started learning to play Back for Good on the guitar [hgrin]

Hope everyone else well. So sorry to hear you're struggling crowette Sad I'm sure once you get your own private shagpad things will start looking up. In the meantime, here's a big fat sloppy kiss [hsmile]
