LottieLou just needed to say that's my dd2's name. (Charlotte Louise). She's 2 and has now decided that her name is Lou lou and corrects us whenever we call her Lotte

maddyd · 19/09/2005 11:46

Wills · 19/09/2005 11:46

CH. I'm told (trying hard not to look to puffed up) that dyslexia is a sign of intelligence. Not sure you'd agree if you met me but there you go. Yes I know loads and yes am watching my two daughters just in case. But... if he is don't worry cos it didn't do me any harm. The only thing you might need to agree is that when playing scrabble that a)yes the word must exist but b) that he doesn't necessarily know what it means. I was given a lot of extra tuition at school and know the principles of building a work so I normally take my scrabble letters and using the principles that were taught to me "build" a word. To my dh's frustration I normally win! Feel free to CAT me if you want more.

Lottielou · 19/09/2005 11:54

Wills - First of all Congrats! So So pleased for you!
What a lovely name, you certainly have good taste! How sweet about ur DD2 correcting you! Bless!
How are you today? you missed all the excitement earlier, i nearly burst! ( wow that wud make a mess, lol)

cori · 19/09/2005 12:04

Congratulations Maddyd, am so pleased for you.

Wills · 19/09/2005 12:05

Nope, still can't concentrate although the initial elation is starting to give way to fear. The last year has seriously been one of the worst and I can't quite believe that anything is going to go well yet. Little bit pessimisstic/cynical. So am nervous that I'm going to have a rocky road to the way to my 3rd.

Diddle · 19/09/2005 12:43

Wills - it is totally normal for you to be worried, stay positive and just see what happens. Is out of your control now. congrats again by the way.

Maddyd - hope all goes well at the docs, let us know what they say, i hope they're lovely to you.

OP posts:
Wills · 19/09/2005 12:54

Diddle, why aren't they going to be lovely to her?

Diddle · 19/09/2005 12:58

I don't know, you never know some doctors don't see previous miscarriages as a big deal and don't take extra care of you, after my first one I was pg a few weeks later, and when i saw the midwife, she wasn't bothered by it at all an dbrushed my concerns under the carpet.

OP posts:
strike1 · 19/09/2005 13:13

OH.....MY.......GOD!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe it CONGRATULATIONS!!! Maddyd and Wills. I need to not log on more often (if that makes sense?!), it brings good luck. I'm so pleased for you both I don't know, I miss all the excitment! Ooooohhhhh I'm so chuffed for you I don't what to do with myself, I'll just go and run around the house for a bit!

Wills · 19/09/2005 13:26

Diddle - I soooo know that feeling. I'm permanently aghast at how mums that miscarry are treated. if we're soooo common then why aren't we better catered for. Its got to be the british stiff upper lip and don't talk about crap or somein. I'm not planning to tell my gp yet but have to work out how on earth I can get myself into the system without seeing her. She's nice enough in other areas but basically can't understand why on earth I want to put everyone through the roller coaster again and why I can't be satisfied with just two. Isn't that quite enough! GRRRR Might not go near the whole process until I've got to three months! Might actually dig deep and get a private nuchal scan (they don't do them in my area anyway) when I get nearer to 12 weeks. Can't bear to tell my gp and then tell her I'm loosing etc etc etc

Diddle · 19/09/2005 14:14

sounds like your gp is a right cow. thats not very nice having that opinion about having more kids. Can't you book direct with the midwife, i've got our local midwifes number and they asked me to make my own appointment last time, i just went to the reception of the doctors and asked them to do it. it worked, might be worth a try. GP never did much anyway, just asked f i wa shappy an dif it was planned.

OP posts:
Wills · 19/09/2005 14:50

In my area you have to be recommended to a consultant by the gp (although even then its not guaranteed). During dd2's pregnancy the consultant sort of "adopted" me and I had tonnes of respect for him. I want to go back to the same guy but can't work out how to do it. May contact my local epu. DD2's pregnancy was not plain sailing towards the end and the staff at the epu also look after you at the other end etc. Hopefully its still managed by the same woman and she might be able to give me advice.

Wills · 19/09/2005 14:51

Am so nervous that I'm even sitting here trying to work out what in the house I could sell that would get me to him privately! How stupid?

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 19/09/2005 15:14
