Apologies in advance for me me me post but need a little rant.

Still no FERTD and officially sick of waiting now. Was getting hopieful that I'd oved but after an initial rise they're back to normal and EWCM has vanished so f* knows what was happening there. Really worried that when this cycle finally finishes there'll be no appointments at the right times so I'll have to wait out another cycle of god knows how long. And then I'm worride they'll find that my tubes are no good and we'll have to go through IVF and just found out when researching my FC yesterday that the waiting list is about 3 years, which almost makes this wait feel like nothing. To add to that, my skin has gone awful (think the clomid must have made it a lot better without me noticing too much). I am covered in spots, which are big and red and painful, plus have some really dry patches. And my hands are breaking out in excema. All signs that I am completely stressed out. DP says I need to stop stressing as it won't help but easier said than done. Plus had my best female friend round on Monday night for a girly evening and she spent a good half hour talking about how she'd recently seen friends of ours who have 2 small children and they look awful and they're so stressed and mustn't their lives be awful and why would anyone want children. She doesn't know we're ttc, was thinking of telling her but after that decided it really wasn't a good plan. It really annoyed me though. [hangry]

Sorry, have read over the thread but head's not in the right place to post to you all just now. Sincere apologies for the amount of moaning I seem to be doing on here just now. Must find ways of thinking more positively. Thank you for being here and listening, I don't know what I'd do without my girls here.

womanlytales · 20/10/2010 10:51

Big hug highheels - - We're here for you so rant away, lady :) Hope that it is making you feel bit better.

DessieLou · 20/10/2010 12:09

Hello Girls! Long time no see! I've not had chance to do a proper catch up with you all but hope all is good. Hope you feel a bit better highheels.
Had a crazy couple of months...had a nightmare with internet provider saying I haven't paid the bill when I had so the cut me off...I'm sure it would have been easier to sort out if the employed English people! And DP and I are being kicked out of our flat so stressing out about that...and now he's been offered a job in scotland so may be moving up there...crikey, I can't keep up!
Still no regular FERTD so no change there.
Will attempt to catch up on news now....

JosieSmith1 · 20/10/2010 15:50

Kaloki glad you and DH are working things out but crappy about your flat!

Highheels rant away! Sorry to hear you're having a bad time but hope you start to feel better soon

Dessie sorry you're having a crappy time too

goldmaple · 20/10/2010 16:25

josie hope your friend doesn't mind about you being very pregnant at her wedding!! My best friend had a baby 2 wks after my wedding - it makes it easy to remember when to buy gifts for her little one![hsmile]

kaloki love your names! Are you a big halloween fan too? Sorry to hear about losing your flat (and the blood drawing experince)

dessielou sorry to hear that lots of stressful stuff is going on for you.

highheels sucks that your cycle is acting up! What you described (slight rise in temp and ewcm, but didn't last for long) sounds a bit like you were preparing to ovulate and then didn't... and then your body tries again in a few days (I've had cycles with 'false' peaks before the actual temp rise). But I could be totally off [hhmm] - I hope you get in for your appointments when you need them!!

Apparently I haven't updated my stats for a while because ERTD got me 9 days ago. Would conceive around my birthday if it works this month so fingers crossed!!

GoldMaple she doesn't mind at all, she's very excited and is waiting to buy our dresses (I'm maid of honour) just in case I'm pg for her wedding. I really don't want to be but I'm not willing to wait so we're still gonna try [hblush] As long as I'm there of course, and don't go into labour during the wedding, I think she may never forgive me if I miss it or deliver whilst walking down the aisle [hgrin]

Truffkin · 20/10/2010 18:13

Hi ladies,

Big un-MN {{{hugs}}} for you Kaloki thinigs sound so difficult for you guys at the moment, although I'm really pleased to hear you are working through it together. Good luck with everything and keep in touch.

HighHeels I think you might needs a {{hug}} as well, hey? Do you know if your friend really feels like that about having children? I must admit Blush to having said some pretty convincing things about 'who would want kids?!' to cover up our struggling TTCing before.

Josie sorry for BFP and I actually think it would be nice if you were to have a baby around the time of your friend's wedding. At our wedding my best friend's wife had their daughter 2 weeks before so she had the honnour of being our youngest guest! DH's cousin had their son 2 days (!!) afterwards and we never forget a) his birthday or b) his age! Bless her, she had him by elective C section and didn't even tell her own Mom until the day before as we'd gone on honeymoon and she didn't want to take the shine off our day. How cute was that?

I'm excited that so many people are having reflexology so we can compare notes. I've been going for a month or two now and am really enjoying it. I find it completely relaxing and just want to curl up and sleep afterwards. I've also got issues with neck / shoulder tension and have been working on some relaxation breathing techniques on her advice.

I have Blush re-posted the list here as it appears Blush that the frolickers were right all along. I am on CD 25 after all, stupid me! I think I looked at the date on my FF chart instead of the CD - doh.

Thanks for the big love about my twunt of a BIL (although Womanly your bro sounds a bit nightmare-ish!), he's normally really nice and we get on well but he totally does not get this at all. I had an email from my SIL about something unrelated this morning so had to plaster on my falsest and biggest e-smile to send her congratulations. Don't get me wrong, it's lovely for them but they struggle with 2 already and they have not at all been sensitive to how we might feel. I totally get that they are excited but think it's not too much to ask for a bit of thoughtfulness.

Toriajayne · 20/10/2010 19:33

Garden If you dress the cat up please show us some pics :) There are between 20 and 30 kids coming, we think... Plenty of leaders though, it's a bit of an event up this way so we shouldn't have anything to worry about, plus, we found out the other week that we're allowed to lose up to 10% of a troop before we're sent to prison [hwink] It's older kids as well as opposed to my cubs so easier to keep in check.

Womanly We certainly intend to have lots of fun! It's just after ERTD is due so one way or another I am enjoying that weekend!

Dessie and Highheels sorry you're feeling so rubbish ladies.

Today I am very sleepy, have a really awful achey back and think I'm starting with a cold, just in time for OH's birthday this weekend [hhmm] Typical! I am always ill on both our birthdays and at engagement parties. Beginning to think I should just stop celebrating hehehe.

JosieSmith1 · 20/10/2010 21:40

Evening all

Apologies 4 txt talkin, I'm on mobile and can't help myself!

How cold has it been today! Have started early mornings at yard and am shattered already so gonna get an early night. My GHDs should arrive 2morrow! Yippee!

I'm worried about bein due over best mates' weddin, I'd never 4give myself if I missed it. But goin by date of ERTD, I'd be due 2 weeks after so hopefully timin shud b ok. Chances r I'll not get pg this cycle either so probably have nothing 2 worry about

TomboyWife · 20/10/2010 21:40

Toria I had the same illness problem, but in my case it happened every time I went to Paris. It took me nearly a decade's worth of trips to see the Louvre rather than spending all my time at the hotel in bed.

Big hugs to all those who are stressed or feeling down. We're really having a bad patch, aren't we?

Still no ERTD here, I'm now 10 days late and today my boobs started feeling (slightly) sore. I should really just POAS and have done with it, shouldn't I?

Toriajayne · 20/10/2010 21:52

Tomboy YES YES YES!

JosieSmith1 · 20/10/2010 21:58

Yes Tomboy, definitely POAS!!

Now, now.... (hgrin)

Toriajayne · 20/10/2010 22:00

And now for some normal behaviour.

Josie If we conceived his month I'll be due two weeks before BIL's wedding. Part of me thinks that would be hilarious as they live a long way away, near my mum, and OH and I have been looking for reasons not to go back there for a while until the wedding was announced. Part of me thinks my MIL would probably kill us hehehe... (Disclaimer: Obviously we would try to go to the wedding were this the case) Oh, and there's snow up here!

Tomboy My boobs feel decidedly odd today. They were achy this morning and my nipples aren't so much sensitive as...just...odd. I have no idea how to describe it. Trying very hard not to read into it as last month the whole area got really itchy so think there's a distinct possibility my work shirts disagree with me, but yours sound promising [hsmile] as for illness, it drives me mad. I had a horrific cold over my own birthday, which was unfortunately followed by a family funeral at which I alternated between sniffing on Karvol and wiping my eyes and trying not to mix the tissues up!

Truffkin · 20/10/2010 22:09

Tomboy POAFS FFS ROFL [hgrin]

TomboyWife · 21/10/2010 07:17

BFN. Sad

Frankly, I'm not sure I trust the result. I've never been this late before and I really thought I ov'ed at the usual time this month.

Oh well, wait a few more days and see what happens I guess.

MissFlick · 21/10/2010 08:03

Morning All,

lanky yes, that is how one resides in Honkers! not Hope work is going ok. Any news on the end date for this job or the completion date on your house?

womanly hang in there. Like I said to you before, I have heard really good things about the cycle after Clomid for lots of people so maybe this is your month sweets.

cavey Your reflexology sounds amazing! Do you think you will book another session? How have you been feeling since?

josie My friend was bridesmaid for our other friend ten days after her baby was born and it all went swimmingly. The baby was so little still that she just slept and fed and was cooed over by everyone. My friend was asked to be a bridesmaid and found out a few weeks after being asked that she was pregnant (had been trying for 9 months before this). I know this is a slightly different situation to yours but I think that these things tend to work themselves out and we can?t plan too much around them. Having said that, I did put ttc on hold for a few months so that I would be able to be bridesmaid at a friend?s wedding in New Zealand but that is obviously because I need to factor in the flying and stuff. Glad your dh loved your hair- definitely recommend GHD?s, I would be lost without mine! Good luck with your charting :)

garden is spotting normal for you before FERTD? Fingers crossed that it is just mini Garden burrowing in nice and deep and that you will see a fat line when you test. Please post photos of the dressed up animals Grin

kaloki I?m glad that you are working through the problems with your dh. You did have us all worried there! Sorry to hear about your flat :( I hope that you can get something sorted soon xxx

tomboy sorry about your BFN. I think you?re right not to trust the result- definitely retest as your symptoms sounds really promising. How funny about your ?Paris-itis?!

toria Loving your scout costume Grin Hope you have been able to keep the cold at bay. Interesting boob symptoms....

highheels :( Don?t apologise, we?re here to listen and I for one have definitely done my fair share of moaning. You WILL get your appointment at the right time as you can just bring up the incident with the letter again and say that you were promised an appointment due to the mix up. As it is so important to you, you will have to make the time to go to the appointment and tell school that you have an appointment that you can?t miss. Please don?t worry about not having an appointment because you will definitely get one. I can sympathise with the spots as I am covered in them too- so depressing :( My hormones seem to play havoc with my skin but do little else! Can you have a soothing bath with something in for your excema and dry patches? Maybe you could buy some Oilatum as that works wonders. I know it is so hard not to stress, I do it all the time but have you listened to the Zita West CD yet? It works for me, but you do need to listen to it everyday or so. If all else fails, how about a shopping spree?! There are some good sales online- I know you like your shoes so how about these

dessie sorry you have been having such a hectic time of it all! It?s good to see you again, fingers crossed things work out with the flat and your DH?s job.

gold Sorry about your FERTD but fingers crossed for the birthday conception plan :)

truff that is so sweet about your DH?s cousin not wanting to take the shine off of your day. I don?t think I would be able to be that thoughtful Confused Well done you on congratulating your sil... It will be you soon!

No real news from me except I have the mother of all spots! It is not even in a normal place- it is just above the corner of my mouth where you would expect a beauty spot to be and it is a MONSTER. Am having a very lazy day and am currently back in bed after getting up and having a shower- have spent most of the day playing with my new phone. I am so not a ?phone person? but yesterday I gave in and decided that I would see what all of the i-phone hype was about and I think I am in love with it already [teenager emoticon] In TTC news, I think I did ovulate as I have my usual huge post ov boobs with super painful nips so will have to wait and see, I think I will test next saturday if no ERTD before that. Mr. F and I are off to watch Grease tonight, we saw it when we lived in London but it is so rare that there are shows and things on over here that we are going to see it again!

OP posts:
HRHCavey · 21/10/2010 09:46

Good morning ladies, hope you are all well.

Sorry for the BFN tomboy, but I agree that it ain't over till it's over! Did't MrsWajs have 2 negatives before her positive showed? Definitely give it a few more days to let those hormones build up.

highheels definitely don't feel bad about ranting, we've all done our fair share! Much sympathy for you over the long cycles - they're a real PITA!

MissFlick glad you've had fun with your friend. I have to say that since my reflexology session I've been feeling very positive and upbeat about everything. My hips were still aching yesterday and I was a bit headachey.
I will definitely book another session, for the relaxation if nothing else! I will give it a few weeks to see if things get moving then give her a call. The best thing is that she will also do home visits!

On her advice I have stopped taking my temperatures until ERTD shows up again. It is probably adding to the stress levels at the moment and lets be honest there is not a lot to chart at the moment!

In other news, tonight is my first solo salsa class and I'm a teeny bit nervous! I'm going to sit down today and plan the lesson, but I'm terrified no one will show up! I've already spent almost £200 on insurance and music licenses, so I need a good turnout over the next few weeks to make my money back! I can't afford to advertise until I'm actually making money (I think it will take me about 3-4 weeks of good turnout to break even) so for the timebeing I have been emailing people and plugging the class on Facebook!

Right, off to get this lesson sorted. Wish me luck and I'll let you know how it goes when I get back later tonight.

Enjoy your iPhone MissFlick [hwink]

gardenpixie · 21/10/2010 10:30

Morning Frollickers

Tomboy if you are 10 days late and have suspicious boobs, I'd say definitely retest. I am sure you'll have done of this anyway but did you hold off peeing for 4hrs before the test? (Needs that long for the hormones to build up). Sounds really promising, I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Toria booooo to coming down with a cold. Is it because you haven't been drinking enough cocktails? They are an important source of vitamin C [hwink]

Josie of course you'll be pg this month - there's nothing like a big event organised at the same time as a due date to ensure you fall pg immediately! Seriously though, fingers crossed!

Goldmaple sorry to hear about ERTD. Love the idea of conceiving on your birthday though!

Dessie lovely to hear from you - hope things are calming down

MissFlick have you thought about using eyeliner to cover the offending blemish so it looks like a beauty spot? Very Madonna from the Vogue years. But spots are a sign of raging hormones, and if you have post ov boobs then that's very promising ... [fingers crossed emoticon with a witches hat on]

HRHCavey hope the salsa goes well! You are inspirational with all your energy and activities!

I am slightly Confused as spotting is fairly normal for me a day or so before ERTD and - TMI alert - last night there was some bright scarlet blood but now it's all gone and there's just a bit of dark spotting. I think maybe clomid and hcg might have thrown my hormones out of whack so they are not sure what they are doing.

My boobs are quite achy around the top but I think that's just normal rather than being a sign . And I guess getting pg on the first time I ov'd with clomid would just be toooooo lucky so I am going to go and pick up my prescription for the next round later today.

Still planning to POAS over the weekend if ERTD doesn't show - I realised that the latest I could have ov'd was 11 days ago so I'll leave it until 14days after that (which should be Sunday) until I POAS to give FERTD plenty of time to show up. I know it's daft but I'd much rather deal with that than a BFN [irrational emoticon]

Right, am off to my kitchen table to gaze at the lovely sunshine do some work for a bit,

Here, have some freshly made coffee and muffins for a mid morning break,

xxxx

slowshow · 21/10/2010 13:15

I'm a couple of days behind on the news here - I can't believe that womanly and Truffkin have both been asked to postpone TTC plans Shock The nerve!

JosieSmith1 · 21/10/2010 14:55

I agree with you MissFlick these things do tend to work themselves out and I know deep down that I?ll be really disappointed if we don?t try this month so will still give it a go. I have some awful spots too! Three huge red ones right on my bloody chin! Am lathered in makeup to cover the buggers [hgrin] Enjoy your new phone

Ha ha Garden, yes as it is the most inappropriate time to get pg hopefully it will happen! Hope your hormones sort themselves out soon. Muffins are one of my faves, thanks!

Sorry for BFN Tomboy but definitely agree to test again if no ERTD in a few days.

Good luck with the salsa class Cavey, bet it?ll all be fine and you?ll wonder what you were worried about

Bit of a moan here I?m afraid. We have a new senior who is slowly but surely picking things up so not too bad, but we have a part timer who is lovely but after 2 years still hasn?t really got the hang of things, then another girl who is leaving in a couple of weeks. I have just taken on some of senior?s responsibilities so she can concentrate on learning the rest of the job, but have now been told that I have to take over the caseload of the girl who?s leaving, so I will be working for all 14 probation officers, plus I have to write a procedures document on every single thing we do, bit like an idiots guide to admin at probation. I am going to be absolutely snowed under and have no idea how I?m going to manage it all.

I am on leave next week so won?t be on here much, then after that things are going to be really difficult around here so I might not be on here as much, but will try and get on after work on my mobile. It doesn?t always let me post so if I?m absent, I?ll still be lurking, just unable to post!

gardenpixie · 21/10/2010 16:35

[hsad] [hsad] [hsad]

FERTD just pounced on me. Not entirely unexpected obviously but still very annoying. I was meant to be seeing a friend of mine who's just had her second baby in the time that DH and I have been TTC-ing but I've had to bag out as I think I need an evening of wallowing and wine drinking on the sofa rather than coo-ing over little people.

Oh well, trying to stay positive and remembering that at least the clomid worked this time!

Off to hurrumph on my own for a while...

Hope everyone else is having a better Thursday and that one of us gets a BFP soon!

xxx

Truffkin · 21/10/2010 18:31

Boo hiss to FERTD Garden but as you say, first time and all that. At least you know you OVed and just think of all the lovely SWIing you will have to plan in for the next cycle! At least you weren't left hanging around waiting for ERTD with the hope of BFP in the back of your mind. SOmeone said that to me the other month when I had an unexpected short cycle. Enjoy the wine tonight and make sure you and Mr Garden look after eachother.

TomboyWife · 21/10/2010 18:39

garden [hsad] at ERTD.

You also asked if I'd held off peeing for 4 hours before the test. It was only 1 hour since I'd last peed and I really didn't have much in my bladder. Hmm... [hhmm]

I'm almost tempted to re-test right now, but I don't think I could face two BFNs in the same day.

gardenpixie · 21/10/2010 18:46

Thanks Truff and Tomboy for the cosmiserations! Truff you are right - better to have FERTD jump in before I was expecting it so I hadn't got my hopes up!

Tomboy definitely worth testing again with at least 4hrs of hormones stored up! Do you have a test you can use tomorrow morning? How exciting! xx

Karstan · 21/10/2010 21:13

Got really uncomfortable ovulation type cramps this evening, who on earth designed this system. It's not encouraging procreation at all at the time that's going to be most successful!!!!

Hi everybody btw, not had much time for mumsnet lately
