I also meant to say that there was two lines on the ovulation stick this morning... Lots of SWI in the Knitter household for the next few days :)

I love the optimisim of me getting AF on 23rd October - I will eat my hat if my cycle is that organised.

It does seem a really good idea to have dates and will hopefully prevent me from POAS until 24th at least!

Feel really tired at the mo - LO is waking me up at 1am and 5am, crying loudly for 30secs to a minute (yes really that short) and then going back to sleep, unfortunately I lie there wondering whether she has gone to sleep or is just building up to another drama.. am I crazt TTC#2?

jigglebum · 05/10/2010 15:57

Afternnon ladies - I have finally fallen off the June bus, after a long journey and I'm scrambling aboard this one instead. Decided to bring along lots of red wine for the journey this time as 2 months of very little drinking and too much planned SWIing doesn't seem to be working for us.

My stats

Jigglebum TTC no 2 cycle 9 UCL 35-40 AF due 11 November

That is actually a very depressing thought that I have to wait until Nov to know. I was so convinced that we had been successful ths month. I had loads of symptoms I thought - but clearly not. Is it possible to be pregnant for just a few days and it not "take" so to speak?

I thought we had done everything right last month so after extra tips if you have any. Have bought DH zinc tablets as have read this is meant to be good and someone mentioned SWIing in the morning can be more effective. Not ideal for us with a toddler but we can try. Any other top tips?

I think I will cry if another friend announces they are pregnant. none of my friends seem to have had any problems at all with TTC no 1 or 2.

Fell off the June bus hard and taken a few days to recover, but raring to go again.

Goodmorning Ladies Smile
A big welcome to the new arrivals jugglebum the two bottles of red wine are accepted!!!!The month I fell pg with DS1 ( my lucky mistake, as I call him cause I was on the pill) I was in Italy and went out 4 nights in a row with my best friend and got wasted Grin Came back to the UK and found out I was with child Shock So IF I managed to get pg this time, even this one will be a child of the booze!!!!! the day after I ovulated I went to see my newborn niece and was the only one there who helped herself to the bubbly we had opened to celebrate the birth Grin
Went to see the GP yesterday and he apologised for the way the other two Drs treated me and admitted the GP don't know much about fertility cause they are just generic Drs and that I was sort of wasting my time with them cause I need a specialist to look at y charts and tell me what's the best action plan...Got my consultant appointment through and it's ont he 18th of November...6 weeks away...gosh

hippyhen · 06/10/2010 09:41

Hello again - and hello Jigglebum, I know just what you mean about seeming to get loads of symptoms. I suppose it must happen that an egg gets fertilized but doesn't implant. On the other hand personally I'm very suggestible and I know I can make associations of symptoms which I just wouldn't see if I weren't looking for them.

I made our first doctor's appointments (for this Monday). Have a smear booked for this afternoon too - joy of joys.

I got copies of Toni Weschler's book and Zita West's "Plan to get Pregnant" so I've been reading like mad! Very interesting. I suspect our problems might focus on lack of sex on the right day, poor diet from me and perhaps the result of a childhood operation for DH. We will address the first two, I'll start keeping charts, and perhaps a test will give some idea about the sperm count.

I've also decided to stop taking the strong red clover infusion I was because I think it's giving me muscle pains.

Teds77 · 06/10/2010 11:17

Hello all - welcome to all the new passengers, especially those from the June Bus. I've been away for a few days and missed the alcohol, cake and general ttc madness Smile

Great idea on the date stats Ravenlocks and thanks to Knitter for sorting out.

Jigglebum on another thread I read a few people talking about a 'chemical pregnancy' with people saying they got a BFP before AF was due but then they got BFN a few day later and AF arrived. Not really sure what this is?!

I have bought an OPK this month... My obsession is clearly growing...

Wombat33 · 06/10/2010 11:50

Hello July bus ladies! May I join?? I come bearing choclate, wine and blue cheese for those at the back of the bus and 'virgin' mojitos for those at the front!!!

We're ttc our first. Had a MC last month and have been told we have an uphill struggle due to genetics issues, but we're trying to stay positive! DH is due to be away on business at the crucial time this month, but I'm hoping maybe this will make me relax a bit (some hope... :)) and if we SWI when we can then you never know...!!!

hippyhen I hope your appointment goes well and your Dr is better than mine ( I saw 3 over the past 9 months and the one I saw yesterday admitted that he's justa generic so he can't help me with specific fertility problems..I guess I need to appreciate his honesty!!!LOL )

Wombat33 welcome aborad!
so sorry to read about your MC Sad sending you virtual hugs and some nice virtual chocolate!
allthatjazz hi there Smilemy cycles are a bit irregular too Hmm ince January I had 22/20/22/22/23/24/35/24/25/26 and this cycle I'm on CD 36 Hmm and waiting for AF to make an appearence.
IF I managed to get PG this month it's a miracle considering we only had sex twice... did a test yesterday and one today and they both came up negative so I'm not hopefull...I think I'll go an treat myslef to a glass of MArtini Grin cheers girls

Wombat33 · 06/10/2010 18:44

Thanks for the welcome all. And the chocolate!

kat2504 · 06/10/2010 18:52

Sorry I forgot to make a new contribution to the bus snacks! I am sharing a lovely bottle of wine with you all, along with a delicious plate of cookies (choc chip) and muffins.
Here's to us all having a lovely bus journey this month and hopefully quite a few arrivals at the destination, especially for you ladies who have done a fair few bus tranfers already.

Luce2006 · 06/10/2010 19:06

i'm feeling generous tonight Grin
so I'm taking smoked salmon, tart tatin and a lovely Moscato di Pantelleria for everyone on the bus with me

mrsden · 07/10/2010 08:58

Welcome to all the new passengers, this bus is a good one!

Great idea about the stats Ravenlocks. 31st Oct seems a long way off for me though, wish I could fast forward a bit.

jigglebum I hadn't heard about the morning thing, maybe I'll try that this month. These are all the tips I've heard or read, no idea if they're correct, not worked for me yet!

  1. Don't smoke (also important man doesn't smoke too because smoking affects sperm quality)
  1. Limit alcohol drinking
  1. Take pre-natal vitamin incl folic acid (I take the pregnacare ones and I don't know if it's coincidence but my cycles seemed to have shortened from 35+ days to 29-30 days since taking them)
  1. Zinc for man
  1. Boxer shorts no tight underwear!
  1. Avoid hot baths or anything that raises body temperature
  1. Limit caffeine intake
  1. Start Swi-ing 6 days before ovulation and for 48 hrs afterwards
  1. Avoid woman on top position
  1. Raise your bum in the air for 10 mins after Swi-ing, or lie on your tummy with a pillow under thighs if you have retroverted uterus

  2. Try not to get up for 15 mins afterwards

And I'm sure there are others that I've forgotten. Has anyone got any other top tips?

I'm still totally confused about how often to SWI, I've read conflicting stuff. Some say everyday, some say every other day, some say as much as possible etc, etc.

And of course I know people who don't follow any of these tips and get pregnant straight away!

PeevedEve · 07/10/2010 09:57

Morning all. I've been away with work and glad to be home. Brought some Danish pastries for the bus.

Jigglebum and Teds - I had a chemical pregnancy in January. From what I understand the egg does get fertilised but doesn't implant properly so AF arrives. I did feel pregnant & got a BFP on the day AF was due(but it was faint & took a while to come up). AF turned up 4 days later.

It's good to see there's lots of company on the bus

FluffySparkles · 07/10/2010 11:43

Morning. Am hopping on as I have just left the June bus. I'm newly married and was hoping for a honeymoon baby but AF got me today - 4 days early (started Pregnacare vitamins so am wondering if it's that which shortened my cycle also mrsden) Have added myself on although I'm not sure of my next AF so have put the later one to be sure.

Good luck everyone!!

Hi all! I started on the grapefruit juice today. It' only day 2 but I thought I better try everything I can to get that all important EWCM if I'm hoping the swimmers are going to hang around long enough to meet the egg while DH is away on business. So much for chilling out about it all this month :o))

I've brought paté for everyone today in the hope it is the last we'll eat for 8.5 months! WinkGrin

kat2504 · 07/10/2010 18:32

Ooh wombat good idea! I love paté. I'm bringing camembert in the hope that none of us will be eating any until next summer!

Welcome to the bus Gaga sorry to hear about your m/c. Hope your wtf doesn't last too long, pleased to hear you've got positive opk, hope you are "enjoying" it ;) Thanks for the gin!
