MamaPower · 12/10/2010 10:16

Morning all Smile

Pink, sorry about your SIL's insensitivity hon, rude!! Also, I never passed clots pre-mc, now happens all the time! Seems this is a post mc treat for all of us to get used too!! Boo!

Right, bucket load of meetings then sneaking off early to go down to Somerset with DH for the night (who is not being bad patient actually and op went well!), seeing my mum and dad and taking them to Westonbirt arboretum tomorrow... will be beautiful this time of year.

Catch up with you on Thurs
Love to all x

nickstermum · 12/10/2010 12:08

Hey Mamap have a great time :) I will be in brissle again tomorrow GRRRR! Wish they did the equivelant of UK motorway airmiles!

TMI Alert Blush
FFS i am totally fecking bewildered! Right, i havent drank any gf juice since last week, just pineapple and orange. I said i was drowning in stuff yest, not EWCM just normal, but again today i have tons of EWCM again! Have had this on and off since day 16 and its now day 23 - surely not?!?! Maybe i just imagined it at day 15/16/17 It is bonkers! Perhaps it is an ov and i am in line for a very long cycle again!? I have no clue about wot the hell my body is doing now...more so than last wk!
But i am not going to obsess, no no not me ...!!

Having said all that.... i used to get EWCM around day 12 and then again around day 18 so maybe its the same ish thing and its just my body doing it at a different time?!

So bloody baffled.... RIGHT - lets take the bull by the horns... AMAZON and credit card!!!

Pink so glad its a bfn - sorry its not a bfp but glad its not a MC if that makes snese :)

PinkFondantFancy · 12/10/2010 12:18

Thanks everyone, good to know the clots post MC thing is relatively normal! mamap have fab couple of days away, sounds v. chilled out!

nicksteroony I am finding this cycles thing baffling as well - I wonder if it was always like this but I never paid any attention before?? Hehehe what are you buying from Amazon that will make it all better - I want in! My pre-seed and BBT thermometer arrived today, yay! Expecting book and fertility monitor tomorrow! Just a thought, could it actually be a by-product of DH no longer withholding services?? TMI but I find it impossible to distinguish between the two!

nickstermum · 12/10/2010 12:37

Sadly fondant we only dtd once on day 15 (hence the comments about missing the window this month :( so i dont think its by products) Swear to god i feel like crying. I know am being pathetic, but have always pretty much known when have ov'd before :(

Have bought a basel thermometre, TCOYF, not going there with CBFM just yet as i dont want to spend an absolute fortune!! A great big pack of OPKS and a pack of 25 pg tests for a fiver... fed up of paying tesco outrageous prices!!! Oh yes and pre-ordered a copy of toystory 3!! due out 22nd Nov (for DS of course!)... but forgot Eclipse... how could i forget Edward ?!?! Grin... now if only i was at home i could go POAS to get clarity!

AandRMum · 12/10/2010 12:57

Hi nicks almost relieved to see your post as I have been suffering from an excess of pant snot. I am starting to worry that it is pelvic floor related (I think mine is in the basement). BTW I love this thread - where else can you have an in-depth discussion about ps. It is such a bewildering but sort of informative thing. We should really be taught more about these things in school > possibly more in ante- natal classes or TTC classes - does such a thing exist. If not I'll start one and invite you all along as guest speakers!!!

nickstermum · 12/10/2010 13:13

I know exactly what you mean AR we shouldnt have to resort to biology books at this age Grin but where would we be without MN? Sat in the closet not knowing that anyone else is the same!

Swear to god, i am sitting it a hotel business lounge, tapping away on the old craptop wanting to cry such is my frustration. I WANT TO SHOUT AND SCREAM AT MY FUCKING BODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There thats better :) and am i a nutjob? Yes i think i am quite possibly turning into one.
Glad i am not alone, but sorry you are drowning too! I think i am turning into a SNAIL (far nicer than slugs)
Why do you think its PF? Mine are shot i know that :( cant remember the last time i slept through without peeing all night Shock

Hum.... actually i have been eating loads of brazil nuts.... wonder if that has influenced anything.... have loads of selenium in them apparently! Selenium helps swimmers but i dont think that it increases the amount of fluid unless i am mistaken!

inbetweener · 12/10/2010 13:17

Hello all,
Wow all your posts make or really interesting reading , you all seem so wise and clued up !!

Well went to my GP this morning after dropping kids at school and she was nice. Am really bleeding loads so that was my main reason. She referred me to EPU where they did bloods and I have to go back thursday for more. She also referred me to the miscarriage clinic as this is the second time this has happened.

Soooo, I guess now just get back on he rollercoaster and try again. She went on and on about my age ( 36) and how if Im going to get pg I should do it soon or it will be too late. Er, yeah I know thats what im trying to do !!!
Anyway, will need to go back to work tommorrow and just hope the bleeding calms down as its really icky.

Thaks for your support and I guess here I am with you guys now trying again.
Well, in about 2 weeks

PinkFondantFancy · 12/10/2010 13:58

nicksteroo sorry, misunderstood about dtd - DH and I dtd a lot this month, but managed to have a week's break during the frikking critical window this month due to everything shifting by a week for absolutely no reason!! Ok so I know naff-all about EWCM but I would have thought without the back-up of the temps and OPKs you might well be ov-ing at the time you think you are but the CM is just doing its own thing? Chin-up hun, maybe the overwhelming urge to cry and screama and shout is a good thing - hormones gearing up for something exciting???

Hehe AandR thinking about my non-existent sex-ed lessons at school this really would have been quite extreme!!! TTC classes are a good idea - I completely thought chucking away the pill packet was all I needed to do....

Hey inbetweener glad GP was a semi-success - good news on the miscarriage clinic, Angry at her going on and on at you about your age, what exactly was the need for that?! Fingers crossed bleeding will slow right down v. soon - mine was only very heavy for a couple of days, it's so much easier to cope with when it calms down.

KT how are you doing?

nickstermum · 12/10/2010 14:01

betweener i wouldnt worry too much about the age thing, there are a few women on here who have conceived at 40+ and many of us who have MC who are under 30 (myself i am 34)

Grin

Good that you went to GP and WHOOP WHOOP for the referral....(my GP wont even refer me for a blood test after i conceived again... I was at the time being sent for tests due to long cycles) I am seriously thinking about going for bloods. Fondant how do you go about the private bloods? My doc wont refer me!

PinkFondantFancy · 12/10/2010 14:22

nicks I didn't get referral - GP thinks it's a rubbish idea. I self-referred to one private clinic but I didn't like the dr there and he wasn't suggesting a very broad range of tests. I was talking to a colleague at work who's wife has had several miscarriages (now successfully 30+ weeks!) and he recommended a clinic in London that follows a Dr Beer approach of testing for a broad spectrum including looking for NK cells etc. as well. I've only just completed application form so I'l let you know if they'll give me an appointment without referral. xx

MummyAbroad · 12/10/2010 14:30

Hello ladies

Big hugs for Pink Nickster Inbetweener and anyone else who needs one today. Sorry that you are all suffering.

Qucik moan from me:
I spent last light crying into my wine glass because AF hasnt arrived. Its been 14 weeks since the ERPC and the progesterone course hasnt worked. Even worse, because I temped, I KNOW I ovulated and got period pain and temps dropped around the time I should have had my period. Google says this is a sign of scarring of the uterus. I know google often says scary things to me that arent true, but I cant find ANY OTHER explanation. I dont want to go back to the gynecologist who did the ERPC, he checked me a month ago, said I was ovulating (when I wasnt) and that the lining was growing back and told me I was fine and not to come back until I was pregnant. So he is either crap or a liar. I think I will try and find a new gyne (again!) because I just dont trust this one anymore. I feel really angry that I tried to do everything I could to avoid an ERPC specifically because I was scared of something like this happening and now it has happened!!Angry Sad

end of moan.

On the bright side I am getting massage today, and another one tomorrow and another one the day after SmileSmileSmile

Nickster - my random unqualified guesstheory is that your body is trying to ov - what about a cervix check to see if its open?

Wombat33 · 12/10/2010 14:46

Oh Mummya so sorry to hear you are down. Big hugs xxx Did they not say, or did you not read somewhere that it can take up to two weeks for your period to return after you finish the progesterone?? So it could happen yet? Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

Nicks sorry you are also feeling down. hope you get more luck with PFF's private doc. And you to PFF sorry to hear AF turned up. FWIW I also get clots, both before and after MC Confused

Inbetweener glad your GP was helpful but Hmm about the age comments. That was definitely not necessary. Good luck when you go back to work.

AandRmum Grin at TTC lessons! They are so necessary. One the one hand I'm spotting all sorts of symptoms now that I've never noticed before but are probably totally normal, and on the other hand I'm discovering that things I've been aware of/worried about for years that I thought were abnormal are not! Argh!

Mammap have a lovely trip!!

Good luck Velvet! Keeping everything crossed that the nausea is 'good' nausea and not just some bug.

Hello to Jam, apple, caribou, Izzy, choccy, mousebacon, ladyBee (Chutney sounds fab!!) and anyone else I've missed!

AandRMum · 12/10/2010 15:03

Ok getting quite excited about the TTC classes I think I'd have a course for GPs making them read the pages here so they can understand the impact of there words and also so they can get a better idea of what is normal!!
inbetweener how unnecessary on the age front I'm 36 this year and I beat myself up enough on the age thing but on the otherhand I was one of the youngest in my ante natal class and my sister is having her second at 42. Yes the risks are higher but still on the low side. I hate the continuous dual messages sent by society ... wait until you have your career sorted etc and then don't wait too long ... I think there is a very small window of about 4 years where you can pop out babies

PinkFondantFancy · 12/10/2010 15:26

Big hugs for mummya - google is scary but at least it empowers us to not just have to have blind trust in what the drs are saying. I think a second opinion is a great idea. I hope the massages are lovely!

I am just watching Jeremy Kyle - definitely puts things in perspective!

Right, I'm off to do a bit of work and then to try and get some sleep - this cold is pure evil, I feel horrible!! sooo going to have more sympathy for DH next time he has man flu if he's feeling like this!

nickstermum · 12/10/2010 15:31

Ah god it seems today everyone needs a bloody great big hoofing cuddle

Mummy i dont know what to say except wait it out another few days? Im so sorry you are still in bloody limbo :( I can feel your frustration from here :( perhaps your lining is just taking an extra long time its time to grow back ? Mind you saying that, its taken a while already! Googling should be banned.... i would have self diagnosed myself with uterine cancer as an interpretation of mid cycle spotting if it were up to google Grin Is there any other fertility specialist you can possibly see privately out there? What alternatives are there to progesterone? Could they scan you to check the lining? I dont know what other options are - but god i bet you are frustrated :( Thinking of you toots mwah!

Hmm thanks for your comments, MA If my body is trying to ov, its taking a bloody long time to do it (without SWI too!!) and day 23 for OV? Hmmmmm... going home to POAS in a min...
Keep feeling my cervix it does seem high today, and softer, but then it felt like that a week ago Confused Confused Grin

Guess none of our bodies are doing what they should be Angry but that would be of course according to betweeners doctor that we are all old goats Grin Grin

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 12/10/2010 16:27

pink - glad it was a bfn in the circumstances, I think mc does funny things to your body. My periods have been shorter but heavier for example. I've only had a brief conversation with acupuncturist but she said sometimes it takes longer for your body to get back to normal after a mc than after a full term pg, because the natural process has been "interrupted" partway through.

velvet - any news? (and while we're here has anyone heard from BrownB ?)

mummyabroad sorry AF is taking so long to arrive. That must be so frustrating. Could you get to see someone else? It would probably be a good idea to get a second opinion, just to put your mind at rest, otherwise google will drive you crazy imagining portents of doom from dawn to dusk. Fx you don't have to wait too long.

inbetweener - pleased you've managed to get a referral, sorry your gp was unhelpful re age!! Like we don't all know it gets harder with time!!!

mamap enjoy westonbirt, it is truly lovely in Autumn Smile

nicks sorry you're feeling rubbish too. I agree re temping etc, it is a good idea if for no other reason than at least you start to feel like you have some semblance of control. Hope you manage to work out your cycle soon.

Re facebook: do you know it took me about 4 hours of pasting then deleting before I got the courage to post that - how pathetic is that?! But I do feel better about it now, not everyone will assume I'm referring to myself anyway, and it's really quite enlightening and quite sad to see how many people "like" it because you know most of them have suffered through it too Sad

nickstermum · 12/10/2010 16:47

LADIES ! my faith in OPKS is restored. We have an OVULATION ON day 23!!!!!!!!! WHOOP WHOOP shame DH is in brighton :( Im also very hot.!!

It would seem that fruit juice of any kind can increase cervical mucas?!

4 hours, i only cut and pasted & deleted it a few times before posting it :)

kat2504 · 12/10/2010 17:06

hi nickster that is good news about your opk but shame you can't make the most of it! Still at least you know it is working for the next time.

MA you must be at the end of your tether with all the frustration about no AF. Go away and don't come back till pg is not the most helpful advice from the doctor. Can you get a second opinion?

inbetweener hope it is less icky tomorrow. What a pointlessly unhelpful comment from your GP! Glad you are getting the referral for tests though.

PFF I also had everything shift by nearly a week for no reason last month. Therefore missed the window despite having put lots of effort in when I thought the window should have been. Very annoying. Hope it will be normal this month as that would mean the crucial days fall over next weekend. Much easier!

PinkFondantFancy · 12/10/2010 17:13

WHOOP nickster - it sucks that DH isn't around for you to make the most of it, but v. good that you know what your body's up to this month! Yay! Am even excited about my pee stick machinery's immenent arrival now! Going on your experience I'm going to drink juice like it's going out of fashion from now on! Pineapple or grapefruit right? Any particular time of the month or just all the way through?

Hey kat and wombat hope you're both ok.

izzy not pathetic at all, it's not an easy thing to put out there but like you say, I think it is a very positive thing to do

Hello to everyone else, hope you've all had good days!

nickstermum · 12/10/2010 17:17

fondant supposedly gf juice upto ov and then pineapple after.... so i did that... although i was inadvertently drinking pineapple before ov!!! Brazil nuts to help implantation too!!

Wombat33 · 12/10/2010 17:22

Uck, extra brazil nuts for no good reason. Uck. That's dedication to the cause! (Maybe try the chocolate coated ones next month Grin?)

appleblossoms · 12/10/2010 17:34

nicks great news you've finally got that positive! frustrating to have DH so far away though... ah well, at least you know you can get a positive! and did you notice how MA was right, again! I swear, you're an oracle sweetie!!!

PFF can't believe what your MIL and SIL said/discussed! Some people really just don't understand do they. think izzy says it perfectly, comparing is just plain stupid! and I'm glad you got a BFN, you know what I mean. I've had a few clotty periods in my life when not on the pill, think it can be just one of those things.

inbetweener glad you got yourself to the doc and she was semi-helpful. Tis a stupid thing to tell you about the age thing now, as surely it's pretty obvious you're doing your best to get pregnant right now! gaaah! doctors can be stupid sometimes.

Totally agree with AandR, you set up some classes and I'll send everyone I know along! You girls have been SUCH a help...more useful and probably less scary than google!

ladybee mmmm... chutney! I think I'm going to have to grow tomatoes next year just so I can make some! Wink

izzy well done on posting on fb, I can't bring myself to do it... I can't decide whether it's because I'm scared too, or whether I just want to keep it to myself.. does that make sense? I dunno....

velvet tuesday is almost Friday... test, test, test! I'm dying for you to get a BFP too!!

Does anyone know any natural sleeping remedies you can take whilst pregnant? I'm having real trouble sleeping, I'm shattered...but as soon as I put my head down I just keep thinking through what happened last time and lie awake for hours, and when I do drift off I just wake up thinking of that horrible horrible scan experience Sad Going to mention it to the doctor tomorrow, but thought I'd ask you ladies first as we all know, one of you will know something about anything!

Velvetcu · 12/10/2010 17:39

Hellooo

Not really any news from me apart from pant snot has gone a very subtle shade darker from white to off-white. Am guessing AF is on her way a week bloody late so I too put in lots of SWI effort which will be null and void!

As for the period clots - I always have had huge chunks on the first couple of days.

I'm adopting fanjo too :)

Wombat33 · 12/10/2010 18:15

Oh god. I want a baby so badly it actually aches. :(
