Hi I'm new to the conception boards. Is anyone else planning to start ttc in November or december and wants to join me on a new thread?
DS has an appointment at GOSH on 25 November, we are waiting to get that out of the way before ttc number 2!

Hi northeast!

100years - that's really exciting!

OP posts:
100years · 19/10/2010 20:32

Yep it certainly is exciting :) I'm rather chuffed :)

Gobolino · 20/10/2010 09:18

Wow 100years you sound like you're all set! How exciting. Good luck, hope it happens quickly for you.
I have to read the pregnancy and birth mags for work, they make me so broody!
We have a two week holiday booked at the start of November and will be doing some diving so I need to wait until after that. But DH has agreed we can start trying after the diving, during the rest of our holiday. Hoping it's true what people say about babymoons! Grin

100years · 20/10/2010 10:09

Erm, maybe TMI but the condoms were ditched last night!!! O M G I know it's totally the wrong point in my cycle, but woopie. I suppose my stats should now say SWI instead of TTC after next period!

Oooh enjoy the holiday. :) At least you can read the mags and know the stuff when you get pg and before you tell people without anyone realising what is going on, for the rest of us we would have to not read that in company unless they know or you are happy with them knowing!

Purplebuns · 20/10/2010 10:16

100years... we too had a little incident Blush but I think I am too late and probably shouldn't get PG anyway.

And congratulations!

Gobolino Envy I have just finished my holiday but it was rubbish, although loved the time with DH and DD.

Hi Northeast!

I think we should think of a rude nickname for our group.. We are bound to need a new thread soon!

100years · 20/10/2010 10:36

Purplebuns, this wasn't an 'incident' though it was a proper decision not to use them, followed by the comment 'now stand on your head for half an hour' as it is it's totally the wrong point in my cycle, but I don't care :)

Purplebuns · 20/10/2010 10:52

Ahh but mine was an incident, Wink
partly it is because neither of us really see any valid reason not to conceive. It is just inconvenient for the Gp/midwife if I was to get pregnant atm.

R.e standing on your head.. if you don't have the energy for this..I did raise my bum up on cushions when we were trying last time, and that was successful. :)

100years · 20/10/2010 10:56

I shall be doing the whole pillow thing, legs in the air cycling etc when the time comes. :o

Gobolino · 20/10/2010 11:02

Woohoo, congrats 100years and Purplebuns , I believe this means you've caught the bus?!

Lol at thought of all of us with bums on cushions, peddling madly in a few weeks!

Sorry to hear about holiday Purplebuns - what went wrong? Is always lovely to spend quality time together anyway. Where did you go?

Ooh, and what is SWI? The child in me is hoping the S stands for something rude.

100years · 20/10/2010 11:10

Shagging with intent, yes indeed the child in you will be well happy :o

The thread has loads of room yet I think it's at about 1000 posts where it cuts so we are only1/5 of the way there.

Purplebuns · 20/10/2010 11:12

I had a MC on the friday before my holiday starting on the Monday. So I was recovering and didn't go anywhere.

I am supposed to wait a menstrual month before trying again, but it is just so they can date a pregnancy accurately, and a couple of other things which now do not apply to me.

SWI= shagging with intent :o

Gobolino · 20/10/2010 12:15

So sorry to hear about MC Purplebuns. I hope your holiday gave you lots of opportunity to spend time together and relax.

Shagging with intent, eh - tee hee! I look forward to it. Wink

franjam · 20/10/2010 12:38

Bugger - looks like I'll be trying again next month, AF has come a day or 2 earlier than I'd expected Sad.
Back to the ovulation calculator as the length of my cycle seems to be changing slightly.
Would anyone recommend charting your temperature to work out ovulation? Seems like a lot of hard work to me Smile

100years · 20/10/2010 16:25

Also sorry from me purplebuns, not sure if you or someone else mentioned it before so if it wasn't you then I am saying it now, if it was then I apologise for the double message.

:(Bugger franjam, my cycle is all over the place, meh, just hoping I actually ovulate. I've never tried charting temp, although I have the thermometer and so may try that one AF has arrived and sticks as well.

Bumpsadaisie · 20/10/2010 16:45

Hi there, could I join in too?

DH is getting a new mountain bike - and the deal was if he got a new bike, then I could have another baby GrinShock

Of course, we have thought about it a bit more seriously than that - so he has agreed we can TTC after my hernia op in early December! Given my cycle I think the key dates are likely to be around 18th Dec. And I am having my hair cut then which ought to get me in the mood too.

Have a lovely DD already - aged 16 months - and just hope that everything is as quick and trouble free this time round as it was with her. I'm 36 so time is knocking on a wee bit ... Temptation is to assume it will all be dead easy so I am trying not to expect too much.

Look fwd to "meeting" you all

Bumps x

Southwold, yeah I am hopelessly excited :) [hgrin]

BlueFergie · 20/10/2010 20:12

Oh Yay can I join?
I am taking last pill tomorrow and after that and AF it is all systems go for #3. Also waiting for results of smear. So if thats clear should be starting ttc early nov.
Already have DD who is almost 4 and DS who is 21 months.
Got pregnant very easily on other 2 so hopefully will be the same again. Am excited although a little apprehensive as never really enjoy being pregnant. This is definitly the last one though so going to make an effort to appreciate it (if and when it does happen)
Not sure how cycle will pan out as on the pill so will have to wait and see.
Adding myself to list (think its going by age?)

So sorry to hear about your MC purplebuns Sad and the horrible start to your holiday. Glad you still had a relaxing time though.

Can't help but smile at the thought of everyone propping up their bums ... very romantic Smile. I'm certain it works though!

Hope somebody older than me joins some time soon ...

Hello Bumpsadasie!

asouthwoldmummy · 20/10/2010 23:49

DH said earlier it would be good if I was pregnant at Christmas (he doesn't normally mention ttc). I think this thread has really helped, it gives me somewhere else to obsess rather than annoying him by talking about it all the time! I did however mention it would be very unlikely after one month of ttc! Still, fingers crossed!

Good to meet you bluefergie

OP posts:
Tokyotwist · 21/10/2010 07:17

[Whispers] I've started trying a month early. Still no happy face on the OPK, but having fun practicing.

I only started using the happy face (digital) version a few days ago as I couldn't read the blue lines clearly. Given my history, there is a slim chance I have already ovulated, but it's more likely it will happen in a few days.

Unless of course you can ovulate twice in one cycle. Did wonder if this was possible in long cycles, but probably not.

Tokyotwist · 21/10/2010 07:19

Hmm, meant to say given my history there is little chance I've ovulated already. Brains still in bed with DH.
