Hi I'm new to the conception boards. Is anyone else planning to start ttc in November or december and wants to join me on a new thread?
DS has an appointment at GOSH on 25 November, we are waiting to get that out of the way before ttc number 2!

Hi, I thought I would hopeon this thread and try it out, if you'll have me? I had a MC 1st Oct so hope to be TTC DC2 as soon as I get my cycle back. :o

100years · 16/10/2010 17:36

Sorry to hear of your MC. Of course we will have you :) All souls welcome.

OldPramLady · 16/10/2010 17:37

*hop on Blush

OldPramLady · 16/10/2010 17:43

Why thank you :)

100years · 16/10/2010 17:44

Everyone is having spelling mistakes talking to me today, I reckon I am spreading missing/extra keys around the world's keyboards!

ghosteditor · 16/10/2010 19:00

Hi Catifer and Old Pram!

Really sorry to hear about the mc, oldpram, but good luck with ttc.

OldPramLady · 16/10/2010 20:19

OldPram? I may have to name change again, I hadn't thought of that as an abbreviation! :0

I hope to conceive easily again as I have a good track record, although I am going to be terrified, once I am PG :)

ghosteditor · 16/10/2010 20:42

Grin would you prefer old lady?

OldPramLady · 16/10/2010 21:18

Yes I think I would :o

Are we going to do stats? :)

asouthwoldmummy · 16/10/2010 21:34

I was talking with a friend of mine today who is 20 weeks pregnant - was a bit Envy but hopefully didn't show it! Although she was quite happy to tell me that she was TTC and then when she was 5 weeks along, I'm kind of private (in RL obvs) about this kind of thing! She's finding out the baby's sex tomorrow. yeys!

Anyone else wibbling a bit about all the unknown-ness of TTC? I have identical twins on both sides of the family (paternal grandad was a conjoined twin; maternal grandmother was an identical twin) though no twins in the next two generations after that. Still a scary thought though! Especially since only one of the twins survived in each case.

ghosteditor · 16/10/2010 22:14

gosh I am sooooo bored. DH has gone overseas with work so I'm chilling out at home with the felines waiting for my hockey match tomorrow.

Also having a bit of a wibble as he's in the military and last time he went on this detachment he was involved in an incident and I had a hurried phone call from the military saying 'mrghost has been in an incident, we think it might be on the news so just wanted to warn you in advance. Oh, everyone is fine though'.

wouldn't you worry if you had a call like that? Hmm

Tokyotwist · 17/10/2010 08:10

Morning all.

OPL I saw some stats on another thread and was totally confused (doesn't take much these days). How do you do them?

I went to a meeting on Friday and the customer was a girl I used work with 2 yrs ago. We were both pregnant at the time and used to discuss all our aches and pains. She is due again in a few weeks. I sat through the whole meeting thinking I hope I'm pregnant soon and keeping tabs of each time she rubbed her belly Blush. Gosh I've got it bad Grin.

Oh and my sister gave birth Thurs night. Haven't seen my nephew yet but he sounds adorable Smile.

jaggythistle · 17/10/2010 09:51

Can I join in? :)

Think we are going to ttc #2 starting November.

Dh would have started months ago if he could - he is super broody :)

DS is 13 months this week.

whenskiesaregrey · 17/10/2010 10:06

Hi

Can I join? We will probably be starting TTC #2 around Christmas/ New Year time. DS is nearly 16 months, so would be just over 2 if all goes to plan. Grin

ghosteditor don't worry about the twins thing! Its non-identical twins that run in families... identical twins are, for want of a better term, a bit of an anomoly Wink Grin! Now, I would love to have twins. DH is 18 years older than me, so, although I am only 24, this baby will probably be our last as DH has declared he does not want to be raising children at retirement age. I am a bit sad about it, as I do feel very young to be making that kind of decision, but I understand what he means. I always wanted 3 children, so, twins would be an ideal situation! DH already has a DS aged 18, nearly 19, and he is on HMS Manchester in the Caribean at the moment :)

asouthwoldmummy · 17/10/2010 10:18

Welcome to both of you.

Whenskies - I'm 24 and my DH is 14 years older, so I'm in a bit of a similar position. I'd love twins too, or maybe I just love the thought of twins, must be quite a handful! Someone I know had them and said they never needed feeding and took naps at the same time so she was constantly busy with one of them!

I found out yesterday our (potential) future baby could have a cousin of a similar age. My SIL saw her neice (my sisters baby) for the first time yesterday and decided she wants another one, I knew she would, she says herself she loves babies. She already has 3 DC's, my brother has told her they aren't having another one.
I suppose it depends whether she gets her way or not!

Hi Skies, you're totally right, I'd got the twin thing (identical randomness and non-identical heredity) the wrong way round. Phew!

My DH is five years older than me (31) which means that all of his friends are having kids at the moment - this has definitely encouraged him a bit Grin. But I can see how an 18 year gap could cause issues for childrearing. Skies, maybe you could consider having two really close in age if you don't get twins this time?

100years · 17/10/2010 10:37

There is only 6 months between me and my OH. I never really thought I would have kids, kind of put it in the if it happens it happens but I won't be trying bracket, I think this was a protection thing for me given some rough stuff in the past, but then about 4 years ago my broodiness kicked in and I went full on in terms I wanting kids. I split with my ex pretty much over it, although it was the straw that broke the camels back so was single for a while, decided had I not met someone who I thought I would want kids with then I would be going for some sperm donor and I had a timescale of 35 for this. I'm 32 have met the most wonderful man in the world and so that plan is out of the window :) And it's even better because he wants me to be the mother of his children :o

ChateauMargot · 17/10/2010 11:08

Hi all!

Can I join? We've started trying this month. Came off the pill in the summer and cycle is a bit all over the map, so fingers crossed...

asouthwoldmummy · 17/10/2010 12:53

Hi chateau, good luck with ttc!

100years - I'm very happy for you for having met a wonderful man, must beat the prospect of a donor any day!

Good luck with your hockey match ghostwriter!

100years · 17/10/2010 13:44

Welcome Chateau :) My cycles all over the place too, but I've not been on the pill to cause it, I thought I was regular but alas I'm actually not!

Thanks southwold :) Not really sure how to shorten your name to something postable so I will stick with southwold if that's OK.

I've not got any better overnight, infact I was woken a few times coughing and had to sleep with extra pillows :( Hmmm. But OH is on his way home now :o

ghosteditor · 17/10/2010 16:12

Do you have any rattling in your chest 100? Sounds like it's getting worse pretty quickly, might be worth getting it checked out...

Hi chateau!

Thanks southwold - played and had fun but my knee is getting more painful again, . My physio is adamant that I just need to strengethen the inner thigh and stretch the quads out, but stabby-knee pains are just the worst. Boo.

Am going swimming this evening as part of the physio, hope it helps (if I can be bothered to go out again).
