Hi all,
I just went to post on the old thread and noticed it had been locked, so here is a new one!
Come on in!

Nook try not to worry, speak to your consultant as soon as you can and maybe your doc can help with a prescription for tablets. I think I have small thyroiod problem and I am taking tablets for it.

Rowing BOOTS again, fashionista!

Love to all.

lateatwork · 24/01/2011 11:28

egg transfer day for me. am quite nervous. what if they dont like me??? what if they hate me for leaving them in a dish for 5 days...

argh....

rowingboat · 24/01/2011 22:00

Hi all,
LAW wow, that's exciting! They will love you! So you went to 5 days. How many did you transfer? Any frosties? Smile

OP posts:
lateatwork · 25/01/2011 07:23

Hi rowing... they transferred 2. i was wondering whether i should have 3 transferred but the embryologist said it incresed the chances of twins but not the chances of getting pregnant. That sealed it for me as we dont think we could cope with twins and associated risks for all... we also had 3 frosties as at yesterday and maybe another 2-3 today.

and they have put me on more drugs. there is a large injection in the bottom which is a killer (well i nearly killed dp when he did it last night... Grin)...

test date is 3 feb.

LissySilver · 25/01/2011 09:31

late-Hope you have a fantastically restful and stress-free 2WW. Will be thinking of you!

val-How's it going?

Italiangreyhound · 26/01/2011 00:49

Lake congratulations. All the very best.

I am feeling OK, sorry not to name check everyone.

I have been feeling very mixed.

Tonight just prayed if the treatment is not going to work then so be it. Tired of waiting for it all to work. I do feel OK now.

Sending love to you all.

Keziahhopes · 26/01/2011 23:36

Hi - "very sheepish emoticon here" - please may I come back?

After horrific letter (will not go into details but it is not just me who thought that) the hospital have accepted us!! The magic word "no" wasn't in it - what was in it was actually worse and horrible - but they believe us, and the people they sent us to for assessemnt, and the fact I work with children and am fully cleared and have support from the nhs obstetrician etc etc...

so - begin treatment in 3 weeks!

Sorry not to namecheck, need to do some reading first..... sorry for my strop, was stressed and logging onto a site "musnet" as a name is stressful when can't have a child or treatment for a chance.x

rowingboat · 27/01/2011 13:51

Hi all,

Keziah, fantastic! You have absolutely nothing to feel sheepish about. We are all here to support one another and we all understand the hardships of infertility whatever our individual backgrounds.
I'm so pleased for you and am looking forward to hearing about your treatment and all your news! Smile

Italian how are you feeling today sweetie? It is a such a slog, but it will be worth it if it pays off and if not there are still millions of possibilities for us. It is hard to stay absolutely tunnel-visioned about AC when it takes a long time to work out. I don't think you can put your life on hold for it and that includes thinking about life without AC and all the possibilities.
I really do relate to what you are saying because this is year three or four or something for us and I can't just sit around planning for treatment and putting off decisions and plans whilst I wait for it to 'work'. In fact thinking about AC makes me feel stressed so I don't spend too much time pondering it.

LAW I hope you are keeping nice and busy and not having time to symptom spot.
What happened with the frosties, it sounded very promising in your last post????

Lissy [waves]

OP posts:
Keziahhopes · 27/01/2011 21:59

late hope 2ww going well - are you resting, or going to work to distract. Having frosties sounds exciting (am trying to learn the lingo now!)

Italian - how long till you have treatment?
Thanks for support everyone, I can't quite believe we can actually have ivf now... know iit doesn't mean a baby but at least a chance. x

Italiangreyhound · 28/01/2011 01:15

Keziah wow, I am so very pleased for you. I do really hope it will go well. Love and blessings dear girl.

Well, me, well Rowing and all it is werid! I saw doc today (GP) who said he can't understand why I have not conceived and why periods stopped (although he did admit he is not a fertility specialist!). Said womb lining Ok at scan in December and FSH normal (although not sure really) and LH high but not sure it could have been low. Anyway, as not sure where I am in menstral cycle not sure it matters! Said I may or may not be menopausal no way of knowing and nothing that can be done anyway until one year after my last period. Anyway, gave me just the tiniest bit of hope. He said thyroid probs may be a reason for lack of conceiving, and now on pills so who knows. Just waiting for a miracle. Went to a Christian meeting tonight and just prayed for a miracle. Not sure I really think I will get one but I have a tiny bit of faith and all it needs is a mustard seed - so there you go! Wink

Lissy, Late, Nooknook, Val, BB, Shirley....Uncle Tom Cobley and all, big hugs!

lateatwork · 28/01/2011 08:54

morning all!

keziah nice to see you back

italian i thought they could do tests and stuff to find out what the story was... i couldnt bear waiting a year. would drive me nuts.

rowing oh yes. symptom spotting like mad. i have had some discharge yesterday and today and so am hoping its implantation bleeding... not going to think of it any other way... (hard not to though as this is the way my mc have started in the past....)... oh and rang the clinic and have 6 frosties! dead impressed. am loving my clinic. Smile

lateatwork · 28/01/2011 08:55

oh and rowing arent you due to fly again soon?

Keziahhopes · 28/01/2011 19:24

Italian great to know thyroid problem may be the reason!

NookNook · 28/01/2011 22:51

Itatlian Shall we start the thyroid club? Turns out I probably have Graves disease so now on thyroid meds and will see if that regulates my thyroid. IVF on hold until then. I got so close...

What meds are you on? Did they say over or underactive?

Italiangreyhound · 29/01/2011 00:29

Nook it's just about under active.

Late how long have you got to go before you test? Also, Late Not sure if there are any tests they can do, doc said nothng is conclusive. The FSH/Lutonizing tests require you to know where you are in your cycle but I am not cycling at the moment!

So if anyone can advise me of any tests, please do?

BB, Shirley, Val, Zeziah, Horton, Lissy, Rowing how you doing?

Choco where are you?

love to all.

rowingboat · 29/01/2011 22:19

Hi all,
please indulge me, I'm trying to work out when I will have to book flights...
Apparently, I am on CD 20 today (Saturday) so AF should arrive within 6-8 days, which I make the 4-6th of February.
Could be none of the above though, but I'm going to hope for the best. This means that I would be on day 20 for embryo transfer somewhere between the 24th and 26th of February.
I really don't fancy taking the oestrogen this time, after I started bleeding on day 12 last time and had the FET cancelled.
Italian do you remember we were posting about red clover and I found it delayed ovulation because I was waiting to go for FET and it mucked up my transfer dates?
So the thing is I seem to have been ovulating on day 12 since the last FET and I'm thinking if I take red clover I can push back ovulation to day 14 by taking it to day 12.
Hugs to all
LAW all symptoms are absolute, irrefutable evidence of pregnancy and that's that! Smile
I kind of use this thread as a record of when AF arrived etc.. so I can look back at this when I try to re-arrange flights (again). I blame dementia, but I will just forget and get all mixed-up if I don't. Smile

OP posts:
lateatwork · 30/01/2011 08:21

rowing... some girls at the clinic would take a shot of cetrocide i think that delays ovulation? i wouldnt believe me though but would check with clinic...!

afm... still having discharge and of course now firmly believe its all over... am on course to have my most expensive period ever...

womanlytales · 30/01/2011 17:05

Hi everyone. I am new to this thread and at the start of my journey with assisted conception. Have pcos, did the od, had clomid and ovitrelle but failed to ovulate. Doc has recommended injections and I have a mtg on weds to find out what that means exactly.

Italiangreyhound · 30/01/2011 22:29

Welcome womanlytales, may your stay here be short and sweet - and productive!

Keziahhopes · 31/01/2011 18:11

Hi womanlytales.

Well, went to the hospital today and understand my long protocol for ICSI and we start injections in 2 weeks!!

Any advice from here with what to do regarding diet etc? Have read somewhere about protein - I am a vegetarian, ouch!

rowingboat · 31/01/2011 21:10

Hi all,
Womanly welcome to the thread. I hope we can help you with any questions. Good luck on Wednesday!

LAW thanks for the input. I'm going to email the clinic and tell them that I am worried about taking the oestrogen after last time.
How are you getting on? I think discharge could be a good symtom.

Keziah are you vegan because a couple of eggs for lunch or baked beans are a pretty good source of protein. You can buy protein bars from Holland and Barrett or similar, for body builders or atkins diet people.
I would have thought avoiding soy would be a good idea as I think it is high in phyto oestrogens, which might not be good with the drug regime.
This
is a great thread

Italian how are you feeling now. Not much longer for you is it? Have you had any more information about the absent AF? Could it be thyroid-related?

OP posts:
Keziahhopes · 31/01/2011 21:45

Thanks rowing ... sadly the protein bars are out as I am coeliac. Am not vegan, just no meat or fish! I physically can't eat it, plus a few other foods which are not an issue.

Good link, thanks, so@

  • avoid soy
  • increase protein
  • no caffeine (have been on decaf tea for ages, is that ok or cut that also, stopped coffee totally)
  • full fat dairy produce (that will be harder as naturally go for lighter options to keep weight down!)
  • lots of fruit and veg.
Italiangreyhound · 31/01/2011 23:05

No rowing AF still mission in action!

Love and hugs to all.

lateatwork · 01/02/2011 07:11

Hi keziah how exciting!! yes my clinic said high in protein too. Was told to drink 1 litre of milk per day and 2-3 litres of water... this was upped to 4 litres of water during stimms.

also, 3 brazil nuts per day for selenium.
keep up the folic acid.

am soo bloody anxious and nervous and all over the place on this 2ww. i have been miss cool-as-a-cucumber on most of the journey and have now reverted back to my neurotic self. any tips on how to get through these last days (I test thursday am via blood test and WILL NOT do a hpt as i wont be able to deal with the dissapointment....)

help!
