Hi all,
I just went to post on the old thread and noticed it had been locked, so here is a new one!
Come on in!

OP posts:
NookNook · 01/02/2011 20:43

Ok, having a total downer day today. SHOULD have been starting my injections now but due to my stupid thyroid and stupid hospital I now have to wait AGAIN for god knows how long until we can start. Everybody in the world is pregnant (again) and being overly smug about it on facebook etc. Just want a baby. SO UNFAIR (bangs fists).

Phew!

Keziahhopes · 01/02/2011 22:31

Nook - it is so frustrating waiting.... can really empathise, after more than a year of testing (after long time of ttc) and then being cancelled for 5 months we only now just starting treatment. Do you know roughly when you can start - sometimes knowing and counting down can help. Have they said the thyroid problem might be causing problems conceiving - if so tha tmight really help!! Before I could even see a consultant for fertility testing I had to have thyroid tests (and others) as they said it could cause the lack of natural bfp.

Thanks for comments guys - 2 weeks until learn how to inject myself Grin

Italiangreyhound · 02/02/2011 13:24

Nook stay cool, I am sure it will happen. Do something practical to help yourself, relax, look at the colour orange, maybe eat an organ, who knows, read Zita Wes for some light reading! It will happen, I feel sure.

Keziah yippee great, not long to go.

Late all the best. My goodness with all those litres in you you must be in the loo 24/4.

Rowing any news?

Horton you still around?

Lissy am fine, lost 2 pounds at Rosemary Conley this week and just been for a walk with neighbours dog. Just waiting but busy with work, church, cleaning out the crowded pig sty I live in!

I have been watching the biggest loser and I am HORRIFIED that they are treating the contestants in such a horrible way.

Italiangreyhound · 02/02/2011 13:24

NOOK that should read EAT AN ORANGE NOT eat an organ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NookNook · 02/02/2011 14:17

XItalian SO funny! That's made me feel much better.

Kesiah thyroid is hyper so they think it may have caused some early miscarriages. They found this out about a year ago but it was only when I pushed my GP that things started moving. I was then told no problem with thyroid so were going ahead with IVF only to be told "whoops! Sorry we got it wrong" so now have to take tablets until tsh is leveled out.

Seeing fertility doc tonight so we will see what they say! Fingers crossed for some good news!

Late will be thinking about you tomorrow!

x

LissySilver · 03/02/2011 10:57

late-Thinking of you!!

rowingboat · 03/02/2011 13:49

Hi all,

Nook that was funny wasn't it! I was thinking that advice sounded a bit Hannibal Lecter! Grin. The flip-flopping by your clinic sounds like a nightmare, but definitely better to wait until you have the best chance.

LAW how are you doing?

Keziah there are some great videos on youtube to help with injecting. Lots of Americans mainly who have been recording their IVF cycle. I found them very useful. They love their alcohol wipes those girls!

Lissy hi there. You are doing curves aren't you! (or am I very confused)? Are you getting on OK?

Italian well done on the weight loss! Are you getting a lot of exercise with the dog?

My news is I have just booked flights again - this is costing me so much because I moved the last flights and paid extra and am now having to move them again and pay extra....
To economise I hope to sleep in a bus shelter whilst in Prague (wonders if it is snowing).
The consultant has agreed to my doing an unmedicated FET, after the bleeding last time whilst taking oestrogen. Now the finger nail biting begins as my cycle runs amuck and my body decides to start the menopause, just to be awkward.
So new dates are going on the 24th of Feb and back on the 26th. Anyone got an empty property in Prague??? [hopeful face]

lateatwork · 03/02/2011 19:43

hcg seems all ok at the moment and all other bloods looking fine.

totally me me me post will write more later once i get my DD into bed....!

Horton · 03/02/2011 20:14

Congratulations, late.

Hi Italian, still lurking for news of you all. Still not sure here whether to go for another cycle or not. Indecision! I suppose we will do it soon if we do, so I may well be back here soon.

Love to everyone.

rowingboat · 03/02/2011 20:23

LAW that's amazing news! I was a bit worried you were being too quiet, but nothing to worry about.
Do you believe it? Grin

Horton hi there. It is a tricky decision, hard to close the door. Has LAW inspired you?

OP posts:
Horton · 03/02/2011 20:29

Haha! I am very pleased for her! But I don't feel terribly inspired, no. I just feel tired when I think about injections, tbh.

NookNook · 03/02/2011 20:50

HUGE congratulations Late! You have inspired the newbie! Xxx

Idreaminchocolate · 03/02/2011 21:23

Oh Italian - here I am! I find it very reassuring (and nice!) that everytime I lurk, there you are looking out for me! I do think about you (and all the other ladies) and wonder how you're all doing quite a lot.

Hello everyone! I haven't back read yet, but I have noticed that Ms. Late has just got a BFP - YAY!!!!! Congratulations.

I see that my old friend Italian has been driven to cannibalism by Slimming World Grin

Well, nothing changes for me, which is why I've not really been around - still not pregnant, still don't have a kitchen and still fat. What can I say? I have, however, started my new job which is tonnes better than my last one!

If that sounds like I'm feeling sorry for myself, well I am!! I found out today that someone at work is pregnant - she's younger than me, 2 grades higher than me (this shouldn't make any difference but it does!) and last time I spoke to her she didn't even had a boyfriend. DH pointed out that it isn't a zero sum game - just because she's pregnant doesn't mean that I won't get pregnant, but obviously that comment really didn't make me feel any better Hmm. Turns out 9 Quality Street fudges (the ones in the pretty pink wrappers) didn't make me feel any better either.....

Okay I'm done bringing the thread down now - I'm off to do a bit of reading to see what you're all up and I'll be back in a more cheery mood later.

Bear Bear Bear Bear Bear Bear Bear Bear Bear Bear Bear Bear ( Italian - stay away from the bears, they are not edible)

Idreaminchocolate · 03/02/2011 21:36

ooh NookNook (hello!) - just readyour post from Tuesday - I am SO on your wavelength!!

LissySilver · 04/02/2011 09:03

OMG late-SOOOOOOO amazing!!! I'm so thrilled for you, can't wait to hear more!L

rowingboat · 04/02/2011 15:43

Hi all,

Idream nice to hear from you. Nightmare about the 2 bands above person.

Have come on to scream because, after booking flights this morning, AF has arrived - on CD25!!! Bitch!
That is not going to fit with my flights so now having a bit of a panic. Will probably have to change/pay again for flights.
It's a bit exciting, but worrying that my cycle is so weird.
Got to run...

OP posts:
Keziahhopes · 04/02/2011 22:11

Rowing thanks for the info about videos for injections, will look those up! So sorry your dates and flights are all messed up - hope you get it sorted and the treatment goes ok!

Late congratulations Smile

lateatwork · 04/02/2011 22:24

rowing bummer- can you switch the flights around...maybe keep the second set just in case you need to go back?? Oh and the VAT man caught up with me re boots... had to pay £21 today!! £10 of which was an admin fee to DHL... hmph and i thought i got away with it!!

idream one of the good things about my office is that there arent many women so not many pregnancies... the other thing is the ladies toilets feel like my own private domain and i dont have to share... Smile.. the thing about your colleague at work would piss me off too.

thank you all for good wishes... as this is now my 5th pregnancy and i have 1 dd... i am kinda expecting it all to go wrong (ever the optimist...)... the clinic monitors all BFP ladies very closely. blood tests every second day for hcg and prog and also extra immune testing too. not cheap i might add... but the reassurance i kinda want... so my HCG levels are rising nicely and my prog levels are good...so all good so far!

Idreaminchocolate · 04/02/2011 23:14

Rowing, that's so frustrating - AF's an inconsiderate old cow, isn't she? Just comes and goes as she pleases... So when will you be off to Prague now?

Late and Rowing - it's really nice that you understand how I feel about these things. I was sat at my desk wanting to cry, which even then felt quite irrational and all I could think was "no-one understands"!!! I don't work with her any more (thankfully - I couldn't sit and watch her be pregnant day in and day out. Northing personal - she lovely - but you know where I'm coming from) - I actually work in an office of middle aged men, so I thought I'd be pretty safe from this sort of thing. I suppose there's no hiding, really...

Rowing - fingers crossed! I hope you're taking it nice and easy (gently rowing down the stream, you might say Grin)

Italiangreyhound · 04/02/2011 23:38

Just popped on to say ...

Late Yippeeeee well done. Great.

Choco Glad to hear form you will catch up, I do wish you all the best. Feel better soon, it will come round, i am sure, step away from the chocs and formulate a plan. Maybe there is something in the water at work. Maybe you can step up your two grades while the other lady is on maternity and then sod's law is you will get preggo. Now, I know that's all cheery but that might happen, who knows. Thinking of you.

Rowing hope flights will work out.

Horton lovely to hear from you.

Idreaminchocolate · 04/02/2011 23:39

Ladies - you have to get yourselves over to this thread - it's hilarious!!

Italiangreyhound · 05/02/2011 11:26

Hi all AF arrived this morning! Almost 6 months to the day! I am delighted.

Choco I will try not to eat the teddies but I will have a glass of Wine.

rowingboat · 05/02/2011 13:30

Hi all,

Italian that is amazing, how did you...oh there it is in the emoticons. I thought you were some kind of software guru. Grin
Finally! Do you think it is because of the thyroid medication?

Idream that thread is nuts, like me! I do the thing with the prams in John Lewis. I look soo furtive and have a cover story about a friend being pg, because I can't tell them how sad I really am. GrinI love prams!

Keziah definitely watch the youtube women. I think it was Lottie who sent me a link originally and I watched a few. They were a lot less sloppy than me. I just had stuff rolling off the table and needles all over the place, but it was fine. I became very removed from the whole thing, no squeamishness at all. I suppose if you have to do it you just get on with it.

LAW how are you? Bummer about the VAT, if it's any consolation, I had to pay £24 for mine. I have hardly worn them because they arrived after the snow went.

So it looks like I will have to move the flights again, and I still don't even know if I can push back ovulation with herbal stuff. Why is this all so complicated?
Also have had a flu/cough since Saturday so the house looks like a tip.
Wah! Sniff!

OP posts:
vallinnapod · 05/02/2011 22:39

Ladies, hi!

Long time no visit. I hope all is well.

I can't really keep up with everything so my apologies for not name checking everyone but LAW congrats!

Everything is good here, I think. Had a 9 weeks scan this week and all fine in terms of growth, heartbeat etc. Should have been, and for 2 days was, a real relief but I have had some spotting again today so worried sick :(

Good luck to one and all on the next steps xx

Italiangreyhound · 05/02/2011 22:50

Val I am sure it is fine. Try not to worry.

Rowing why are you saying I am amazing - for having a period or for finding the wine icon! Ironically, now am drinking real wine and it is red!
