I've started a new thread!

40someMum sorry to hear that.

Hippy what happened with the school situation.

Thinking of you all.

Feeling very fit and active, walking a lot, walking a friend's dog. Wondering if wanting a dog is baby substitute. What do people think? Anyway, hubby says no!

Have got into herbal tea. I bet you - you Gum are a big herbal tea fan, (just a guess). My favourite is currently something with fennel, aniseed and cardamom I think.

Have a good weekend guys.

Italian, that tea sounds lovely. I am a big fan of herbals, but have to admit to being really slack lately and only drinking the black type with milk. I haven't even had a green tea since holidays.

I think my general malaise and the two year old have made me really lazy with my diet/health.I'm usually very good, but lately I'll attack anything sweet, preferably chocolate, and just don't feel like exercising.I wish I could shake this tiredness and just get on with it! I decided last night I must make a BIG effort with my diet and exercise. I am thinking that it is just as well that I'm not pregnant because I'm not as fit and energetic as I'd like to be.(Didn't test this a.m because I feel it is pointless)

Trouble is my ankle hurts, so I can't very well go walking briskly!! But I can try to stay off the sugar and sweets.

muchlove, sorry to hear about your chemical.Did you have a positive test, then get AF?

Thankyou Alba for the reminder about our graduates. I really need some positive vibes right now.

All this talk about names and alias' has me very confused! I have no idea who's who off this thread! But I rarely read other threads. BiscuitI have to limit my time on the net because DS is so technology mad, he just won't leave me alone!

Italian, about 4 years ago we got a family dog - mainly because everyone wanted one, but I must admit to seeing her as a bit of a baby substitute when my DH said "No" emphatically to another babe (he eventually came around). She is lovely, but we often wish we hadn't got her , the kids aren't that keen on walking her and we have to tie her up or she'll jump the fence and run away. Maybe if we'd been better at training her? But if you are sure you'd be happy to train a dog and walk it daily, they are wonderful companions.

Diege · 16/10/2010 09:59

Just booking my weekend pass with the snug. Am taking dd3 see Disney on Ice and we are saying over in a hotel, even though the show is only 30 mins away Blush. Anything for a decent sleep! So I will be thinking of you all as I snuggle in to my twin bed next to dd2 with my chocs and x-factor on.... See you all Sunday night!

hippychick66 · 16/10/2010 15:37

LOL at Jolly fancying Wagner!!

italian personally I wouldn't like a dog. DH's asthma is triggered by fur and dust and he has to live with a lot of dust (bad stay at home mum doesn't clean enough face) but fur would really do him in, so luckily we don't have that discussion in our house. I just hate the poo - yuck even with a bag over my hand I think I'd gag if I had to pick up [being sick face].

40somemum really sorry to hear about the CP. I assume you got a yes and then AF arrived so that's how you know. It's rotten isn't it. I guess the only positive spin on it is that it's better than getting further on with the pregnancy and then losing it - I would prefer an early loss - IYSWIM - sorry not putting it well but do mean to be supportive, honest! Smile

gum have you thought about having your thyroid checked out. Tiredness can be caused by under-active thyroid and it can make you feel totally wiped out. SOrry you got a BFN - but it was too early so doesn't mean game over, lovie Wink

I am totally confused about people being someone else on other threads. I'm guessing that 40somemum is the person who popped on and I thought she was new - but I am easily confused Confused. How do you do it - I would get muddled up (but then again - you did get muddled up didn't you Grin)

diege have a good time. Enjoy X factor. We can discuss on Monday Smile.

As for me, we'll we've made up well and truelly. AS well as Weds night, we SWI yesterday and today. It's day 13 for me today but I got the good positive on OPK on day 11 so should be oving about today. I've had pains since last night. Will probably try again tomorrow and then slip into my slanket phase.

jolls ((((()))))

alba you are my shining example always Mrs!! Grin

galwaygal · 16/10/2010 19:58

hippy - you get the best effort star award this month, congratulations on so much well timed swi.

Gum - I too think getting your thyroid checked would be a good idea just in case that is the reason for your tiredness or aneamia?

Diege - have a great weekend, see you back here on sunday! By the way,I am curious to find out if the low temp you got on friday was an ovulation dip in the temps, I have had them on rare occassions, it is nice to be able to pin-point it on my charts as I often have a slow-rise in temps.

40some - Sad sorry to hear about the chemical preg. not nice to deal with but here in the virtual world I have thrown another log on the snug fire, and put a bottle of wine in the cooler, and left a big chocolate fudge cake for you. Don't eat it all at once, but don't let hippy scoff it all either Wink

Beattiebow · 16/10/2010 20:37

hippy your dh does so well Envy. i dream of doing 2 days running with mine (at ov time anyway, he seems to manage at other times Hmm.

sorry about your cp 40somemum I have had 3 I think since my mc in Feb. I'm sure I never used to have them, and it's not as if I'm testing early.

Anyway, a quick question about temps (sorry self indulgent, and i know it doesn't make a whit of difference...)

So I had a temp rise on Thursday, so assumed I ov'ed on Weds. (Had peak on CBFM on Tuesday and Weds) temp went DOWN on Friday to around same temps as previously. Had blood streaked CM on Friday. Temp went up on Sat to same temp as on Thursday. FF is saying I oved on Weds. But coverline FF has set is below most of the temperatures I have had this month. So what do you think? (I know you don't know, and I know it doesn't really matter, but I'm going to obsess about it anyway!).

So am in slanket stage. Phew.

anyway, positive thinking. It is MY month this month. (and all of yours too of course).

OP posts:
40someMum · 16/10/2010 22:40

thanks for all you thoughts
feeling sorry for self - 2 mcs 2 chemical in a year...
just spent hours googling but no explanations

Beattie - ooh hope the dog is nice - I got a new cat for my birthday - she is lovely

Italian - running joke amongst our friends - last baby then....puppy!

still don't know what a slanket is!

Italiangreyhound · 16/10/2010 23:04

40somemum I'm so sorry you are so blue. With your chemical pregnancy, how did you know it was that? Don;t say if you don't want to.

Not sure if we all think of the same thing for slanket but here is one I found earlier!

Beattie what type of puppy are you getting. There is this amazing site with all pics of puppys.

Gum if you are tired could it be the 5 kids and dog making you tired? I have one child and no dog and I am knackered almost all the time (but then I do regularly stay up until after 2.00 a.m.!). My hubby says no to the dog. No desire to offended the masses of cat lovers who live in every corner of the world but if we liked cats that would be an option. A person told me to today about a collar and lead for a hamster! My dd would love that!

hippy no dog does not sound like a good idea for you but for us it seems like a possibility but not a very strong one!

Italiangreyhound · 16/10/2010 23:09

Ooopse
Beattie what type of puppy are you getting. There is this amazing site with all pics of puppys. here

40someMum · 16/10/2010 23:16

ooh GUM i did not realise you had 5 Wink

Italian - no you are fine asking - just that the tests did not get darker [grrrrrrr] emotion at rubbish body

Thanks for the slanket tip I will bring mine - it's lovely and heavy [http://www.johnlewis.com/105205/Style.aspx mine is cream!]]

40someMum · 16/10/2010 23:16

silly me

gumblossom · 17/10/2010 00:22

Ooh, that one is lovely 40somemum, I'll have it in cream. It'll have to stay in the snug because it'd be dirty in no time in my house!

Yes, I do have five, but it's not as mad as it sounds. The oldest one(19) lives away from home now. The next one is 17, sitting his final exams and quite independent, though he does give us some emotional grief from time to time. My two girls are also very easy and very helpful. It's the 2 year old that is running me ragged. I think the fact that I still haven't had a full night's sleep, am still breastfeeding him 2 -3 times a day, then again at night, and I get up early with him most days, 5.30, this morning.

I had my thyroid checked a few months ago, along with many other things and everything was normal. I suppose it could change in a few months? But I really think it's this stage my DS is going through. I feel quite cross with my parents and parents in law because they seldom do anything that might be a help. It would be nice if they offered to help out occasionallyAngry

40somemum, don't beat yourself up about the mc's and chemical. I'm sure you are doing all the right things and sometimes there's just no real explanation. I hope you'll get your sticky bfp soon. How far along were you for the mc's? I know that any positive preg test brings with it so much hope, so a chemical is going to be very sad, but I do feel I would find that a bit easier to bear than getting further into the pregnancy. That would be devastating.

Anyway.I tested again this a.m - still only 11 dpo, but not sure why I bothered when I still have relatively low temps compared to other months at this time. You can check out my chart if you feel like it,, but I don't expect you to: www.fertilityfriend.com/home/186327

I'm not a great cat lover either Italian, mainly because when we did have one she kept bringing "gifts" of dead native birds to my front door! We have three chickens, which my DS loves to chase around the yard. There is also an abundance of different native animals that we see : lizards, small furry things (bandicoots), too many bloody rabbits, kangaroos and snakes. Luckily we don't see too many snakes, but I have to keep an eye out for them when DS plays outside.

Enough prattling about myself (sorry emoticon)

Italiangreyhound · 17/10/2010 00:25

Ooopse Gum has four children not five, sorry gum my mistake! But still more of a handful than my one (I am sassuming!).

840somemum* you do know that is a blanket not a slanket don't you!

Italiangreyhound · 17/10/2010 00:47

Ooppse, my third for the night! Gum I thought it was 5 but your profile says 4 so I was confused!

I think DH will put his foot down about the dog and we are not cat people. The poor old hamster is not enough for fussy DD; guinea pigs are not my cup of tea so I guess that leaves a rabbit, chickens or maybe one of those pigs that can fit in a tea cup! Apparently, Hippy they don't really have fur, more hair! But of course if we got one of those I could never eat a bacon sandwich again!
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-487669/Meet-Tetley-little-piggy-size-cup-tea.html

Italiangreyhound · 17/10/2010 21:37

Hippy How goes it? Are you in Slanket territory yet?

Watching Pregnant and 16. A young couple gave up their baby for a semi-open adoption (the mum was 17) and the adoptive mum gave her a bracelet, and one for herself and one for the baby when she is older, and they will all wear their bracelet (it is form the USA). I am in tears!

Love to all.

Italiangreyhound · 17/10/2010 21:38

Gum enjoying your tea today?

It's very quiet on here, have you all gone elsewhere? Sad

40someMum · 17/10/2010 22:10

Italian - have you been looking at photos of me?

gumblossom · 17/10/2010 23:38

I'm here. And yes I do have 5 - one doesn't live at home - he's 19. My profile says 4 because the stupid thing won't let you put more than 4 kids in!Probably something that the mumsnet team should look into!

Anyway, no progress here.Just bloody negative tests and low temps, so fully expecting RTD in the next 24 hours. Having PMT when you are TTC is so much worse don't you think? At the least, there is an excuse for feeling sad and irritable and just down-right angry!

But the sun is shining and my beautiful boy is fast asleep, so I'm getting a moment to myself...bliss!

Italiangreyhound · 18/10/2010 00:47

40someMum I would not know where to find photos of you, I don't think you have a profile with photos?

Gum enjoy the bliss.

Well, I am feeling less than bliss Angry as DH and I just argued over nothing! He is honestly the grumpiest man I have ever met. I do love him to bits but I have no idea why he is so miserable. I am being made redundant in a few months and we sat down (after a very busy day, helping at church and walking a friend's dog) and had a cuppa and a healthy snack bar (called Nakd, yummy!)I just talked about my redundancy and how it was an opportunity to do something different, if I can stay on I will but if not then I will have to look elsewhere etc. He didn't say much and then said it was all doom and gloom and was generally a miserable &(^%!. In a world where 33 Chilian miners have just come to the surface safe and well Grin X33 ... and where we are solvent and healthy (sorry that should be healthy and solvent) how can it all* be doom and gloom!

In the old days a row would send me to the fridge for food! But now I just gas to my mates on mn!

Off to make a cup of herbal tea and NOT iron his shirts!

Thinking of you all.

Diege · 18/10/2010 10:19

Morning Smile. Italian what is it with grumpy dh's ?Angry. Mine too, sadly. Difficult to deal with negativity like that -if you have any tips let me know! Loved your link to the mini-pig, and am also intrigued by the collar and lead for the hamster. Wouldn't it be too tempting to just lift it off the ground and swing along? (not that I would of course!!!)
Gum your charts have given me a migraine! Agree that low teps this months don't look hopeful Sad. Hope you're ok and that you get more than just a few minutes peace from ds!
GG on the temps front, my very low temp (36.09) (Fri) was followed by usual (36.32) on Sat, 36.34 on Sun. I think I ovulated yesterday, but temp only up to 36.46 this morning. Like you I have very slow 'staircase' rises after ov though, so am hoping I'm into the slanket phase. Ds very grumpy last night, and had pretty much lost hope in any SWIing. He cheerd up late on though, so dtd and fingers crossed it's enough.
Hippy presumably into you slanket now after the mega shag fest?
40some Don't think you can get away with that classly cable jobbie and call it a slanket madam Grin You know you need to get the pale pink fleece polyester off amazon don't you..
Working from home today. BOss is apparently worried that he's upset me, and am quite pleased actually that he's feeling bad Blush. Oh and so much for peaceful hotel night's sleep. What with the noise outside the window all night/in the corridor/dd3's wailing I might as well have had my bed in the middle of the road for all the sleep I got. Serves me right for being so smug Grin

galwaygal · 18/10/2010 10:56

Hi all,,,,

For UK residents: www.duofertility.com/metro free pregnancy tests.... !!!!!

Anyway I am on a diet and feeling very very hungry, people promised me I would not feel hungry on this diet Confused. Oh well, it is only a 3 day diet!!!! So I am halfway there Grin

gum - sorry to hear that af is headed your way.

diege - you can have your slanket soon hopefully.

Italian - well done on not going to the fridge, and hope your dh snaps out of his grump soon.

Well I better get on with the rotten ironing, it is big pile right now and will take me all day - arggg!!!

Diege · 18/10/2010 11:37

Thanks GG have just filled in form so hopefully should get my 2 free tests!

hippychick66 · 18/10/2010 11:48

I'm guessing I am about 1/2 days post ov - whoever does the list can you count this as 1 day post ov just to be on the safe side - ta!

italian Sorry to hear your Dh is grumpy. They are buggers arn't they???

I think quoting the miners to him is probably pointless. Grin I totally see your point but unfortunately when you're feeling down about stuff it doesn't always work to think of people in a worse situation IYSWIM. But it is,of course, great news that they are out Smile.

diege why was your DD wailing all night, not happy with the performances on X factor perhaps???

There was a still birth over on the post MC grads thread. I popped in just to see how everyone was and the person at the top of the list (just behind TFLS) had a still born daughter. I don't know the lady and haven't been following her pregnancy but i did leave a short message. How cruel to work your way up to the top of the due list and then lose your child at 41 weeks. I am so very sorry for her and can't begin to imagine her pain. Life can be so harsh Sad. I think Jolls probably knows her better than me???

40somemum why do you think italian is looking at you. Do you feel like someone is spying on you from behind the sofa? Smile
