The 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

***

Although all most of these rules are well and truely broken!! But we try to chill - honest

I'm feeling two tone positive in first response pink Grin. Not sure why the Drs wee stick was faint, because my HPT this morning wasn't.

vallinnapod · 12/10/2010 13:04

Hugs Brassica and NMCB xxx

Miffles · 12/10/2010 13:35

Hey viroids,

I apologise in advance, but this is going to be a very self-centred post. Can't really take in what is happening to others right now!! Blush

So...the consultant was really nice. Yay! He took time to listen to us and explained things clearly. He agreed it sounds like I have PCOS. The big surprise and bummer is that DH doesn't have normal swimmers. His count and normal forms were both low. So the doc then started talking about assisted conception. Scary!

We were in shock for a bit, as I fully expected to be given clomid and walk out of there! I had written down BB's questions and prepared other questions too, like Vallinna suggested. But all were in relation to clomid.

So he wanted to do a couple more tests first - bloods for thyroid and testosterone on me and DH had bloods for hormones that may be causing his low swimmers. Had them done straight after and then we're going to see him again in 3 weeks to decide the course of action.

He said we could do clomid if we wanted - it is simpler, but with the low sperm, it may well not work. Or we could do assisted conception - and they'd do further anaylsis of DH's sperm to decide if IUI or IVF was best.

Have calmed down now. DH great. He said we've just got a different journey to go down to get our baby. Bless him.

Welcome Choco. And glad NMCB was listened to, and BB the bleeding stopped.

BrassicaBabe · 12/10/2010 13:40

Good news and bad news then miffles. I remember feeling rather beat up after my first appointment too. I'm glad you liked your cons. My DH morphology was only 6% if that helps? Fingers crossed for a definite plan of action soon x

OP posts:
vallinnapod · 12/10/2010 14:06

I'm pretty sure I can have original thoughts but brassica keeps beating me too it so.....wot she said, again.

I don't know how you feel but I was almost relieved the first time we were told something was wrong. It's like you have a starting point to move forward from if that makes sense?

Sounds like our journeys will be similar. Wish someone would have indicated these things may be tough several years ago. I laugh at how paranoid I got when I once (in 11 years!!!) missed a pill, or the time I took the morning after pill when I was 18...I should have been so lucky Wink

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 12/10/2010 14:13

Grin and giggle at Vallinna's thoughts all being stolen by Brassica!

Miffles Boo about you DHs swimmers not being so super. But fingers crossed that now things are happening you end up with a BFP soon.

Miffles · 12/10/2010 14:18

Thanks guys. I knew you'd all be supportive... :)

Yes, the journey starts here. And at least we know early on there is a problem, so it can be addressed properly.

JosieSmith1 · 12/10/2010 14:25

Fingers crossed for you and DH Miffles

And good luck to NoMore and Brassica keeping a hold off the little 'uns!

I am waiting until saturday to POAS as ERTD has been like clockwork since coming off the pill so no reason to test before friday, if ERTD doesn't arrive by sat then I will be rushing to asda before I've even had my morning wee Grin

Miffles · 12/10/2010 15:02

loving the image of Josie running to Asda with her legs crossed - like a 4 year old, holding your fanjo trying not to let your FMU escape!!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 12/10/2010 15:47

If you were really onto it Josie, you'd have a gu on Friday then FMU into the ramekin on sat then bolt to Asda in a slighty more dignified manner. Just be careful where you leave you pot of pee while you're out. Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 12/10/2010 15:55

That would make an interesting Olympic sport. Competitors would have to leap out of bed, run down to the shop, buy a pee stick, run back to the nearest loo and wee on said wee stick. Not sure if the winner should be the fist one to complete this task with out weeing themselves, or the first one to get a BFP.

JosieSmith1 · 12/10/2010 16:48

Ha ha, PMSL at BB, Miffles and NoMore GrinGrin Though the idea of gu ramekin THEN running to asda makes way more sense! Plus has the added advantage of having to eat the pud before being able to use the ramekin Grin

I'm sure you'll all be thinking of me saturday morning if ERTD doesn't arrive on fri (which I reckon it will by the way Sad)

I think the winner should be whoever is first to complete the task, as getting a BFP is very difficult! Grin

Miffles · 12/10/2010 16:59

Bitch alert!!

I posted a separate thread, asking for encouragement..."PCOS and poor sperm, encouragment please"...

No one replied, except ATM, who lectured me and I do not feel encouraged!! Sigh. Have a read!!

Think it's time I went home. You girls have been lovely. Thank you. xxx

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 12/10/2010 17:19

ATM seems to be on some kind of crusade. Just ignore her. You'll get the encouragement you need soon enough. Pfft, you'll get a BFP soon enough!!!

Miffles · 12/10/2010 17:32

Thanks NMCB!! I do wonder what her agenda is....is that mean? I say yes to that BFP!!

PS - please could I borrow some of your DH's super sperm? Oh, and anyone who ovulates....who was it that had super pant snot twice in the month? Can i have an egg? Grin

BrassicaBabe · 12/10/2010 18:14

(((hugs))) for miffles It sounds like you are doing all the right things and asking all of the right questions. It sounds good that you have several options. I have a friend who had ICSI. He says that it all moves bloody fast when a certain course of action has been decided. I'm positive that on your next appointment you will come away a script for clomid or a def course of action.

HarderToKidnap · 12/10/2010 20:59

Things are sounding so positive here!! BB I am shock and awe at your patience, waiting until Monday for an appointment. Are you anywhere near SW London? If so, you can walk in to SGH in Tooting and have an early scan.

Delivered a beautiful baby today, lovely relaxed home waterbirth sigh Envy

Well, I am feeling confused. AF never did come. A little brown discharge Sunday night, a little Monday, nothing today. I have decided that if nothing by Friday then I will have to test but I am a little annoyed beceause I know I am not pregnant so why does my body keep getting my hopes up like this?

baby2b · 12/10/2010 21:17

Hugs Miffles, ATM petrifies me...she lacks anecdotes and just slaps you with a kipper full of 'facts'.

Harder our bodies are a little mean with us aren't they? Since I started ttc 8 months ago? I had a cycle like clock work, this month late ovulation and no af.....ok its only one day missing in action, but it's amazing how many symptoms you makeup notice in a day!

Someone prepare the kipper as I might turn into a nightmare if AF doesn't arrive tomorrow. Ramekin and sticks at the ready. Target: not to poas for another four days (if no sign of AF).

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 12/10/2010 21:24

Oh go on B2B snd Harder. POthoseS first thing in the morning. Go on do it!!! (evil laughter)

I had to laugh at ATM going onto Kitten's thread (before she came here) and gave her a big rant about needing to go to the Dr if you have late periods as there is probably something wrong etc etc. The girl just needed to POAS!

Miffles · 12/10/2010 21:30

Thanks again you guys. :) BB - ICSI is certainly a possibility...good to hear it progresses quickly.

Harder remind me why you're sure you're not pg? Surely if you're late, that is hopeful?

And b2b - it sounds like a poss with you too...although still early days. Go on, share your symptoms with us!! Even if only so we can have a chuckle!

Sounds like we have an exciting week coming up with testing.

I said I was going to PIAR this morning - and you know what my symptom was? Blush Well...let me start by saying heard lots of people still bleed when pg...so despite being pretty sure I have never ovulated...and keep bleeding...and have NO other symptoms...cos my tummy is fat, I thought maybe I was growing a baby in there!!!! Confused Blush Hmm I did come to my senses and haven't done it, but it was close!!

Miffles · 12/10/2010 21:32

x-post. MMCB - I so noticed that too!! It was hilarious!! Kitten had typical pg symptoms, and ATM was going for it with the "visit the specialist gynae doc" that only exists for her. And Kitten was just pg!!! Ha ha ha!!! Thanks for the reminder!!

takethatlady · 13/10/2010 07:42

Hey viroids,

Woah! I miss a day and it's all go. Will try to remember what I can from what I've read. brassica glad the bleeding has stopped and that you and NMCB are both still preggo. Yay for the First Response choc - I knew it had to have a purpose beyond turning us crazy. Sounds like both your little blighters are sticking Smile Smile Smile [fingers crossed and double crossed :)]

eskarina I think it's you who is worrying you're not ovulating. Get down to a doctor and we can be test buddies next cycle (if I ever ever ever get my period. Day 57 here, 8DPO). miffles I think it was me who got the super pant-snot twice in a month. But the first time I think it was actually just, Blush, 'leftovers', if you know what I mean ;) Slightly embarrassed about this! How are you feeling after your appointment now? You must have felt totally shocked - I hope you feel like there's a plan of action for moving forward now. Brassica's right - she did it with her DH's 6% morphology (whatever that is Wink) and Clomid assistance - you'll get there.

vallinna good luck today :)

josie, again this is sterling work on the 2ww. Forgetting days???!!!! I have to restrain myself from adding them on! Looking forward to your trolley dash on Saturday...

Haven't flashed my arse at anyone else ... did go for drinks with new colleagues and join in bitching session about one of them who wasn't there (to be fair, he asked me why I was wearing make-up because it was 'pre-feminist' of me, costs me time and labour and proves I've been sucked in by a capitalist myth, and is usually worn by women who are trying to mask psychological disorders. He also said to my old PhD supervisor, in front of me, 'I love this girl, she's so ignorant I can tell her anything'.) Still. Prob shouldn't have bitched 6 weeks into the job Blush. Especially as I'm going to have to sod off on maternity leave (if I EVER get pregnant)...

Right, who said the thread originator deserves to get upduffed? Is it time for a new thread yet?

cremegg · 13/10/2010 08:36

takethat... lmao at 'leftovers' hehehe! and that colleague sounds like a bit of a kn*b to be fair so wouldn't worry about bitching, it's human after all!

yay to BB and NMCB :o

hugs to miffles, DH sounds fab for being so calm and supportive.

I must confess to POAS today (obv -ve!)... lol as think I might have ov'd last Tue (more of a convenient theory tho as we were camping over mid cycle and, well, JS on airbed?! no!) but really not sure tbh and also due ERTD tomorrow anyway! I am just so impatient, and using contraception for a decade really does make you feel like with just one 'shot' it'll happen!

Few, think I started to over obsess then!! Sorry ladies!!

How are you all? Weds eve here now so :o:o:o to hump day!
CE

JosieSmith1 · 13/10/2010 08:59

HTK it must be hard having to deliver babies when you?re trying yourself Sad Hope your body sorts itself out soon and gives you some decent signals (of a BFP type Wink)

B2B fingers crossed for you too, I will slap you with the kipper if you will slap me (ERTD due friday)

Was listening to the radio this morning and they asked people to ring in and tell them about a moment that made them say ?wow? and a woman phoned up and said she just found out she?s pg. I turned the radio off Angry

Miffles I have to admit that even when ERTD has arrived last couple of months I have thought that, seeing as it was really light, maybe I was pg, despite BFNs! ShockGrin

Thanks TTL, and PMSL at arse-flashing! My Mam once opened the door to the postman in her dressing gown (nothing else) but didn?t realise she hadn?t buttoned it and was flashing him as she signed for her parcel Shock poor bugger never came back Grin Sounds like your new work colleague is a t**t so bitch about him all you want I say, if he can dish it out he can take it back Grin

Cremegg I know what you mean about being on contraception and thinking one missed pill will get you up the duff!

Had my first early morning yard duties this morning so been up since 6am and knackered already! It?s gonna take a while to get used to this routine again.
