The 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

***

Although all most of these rules are well and truely broken!! But we try to chill - honest

I have no idea HTK! Offered myself up on a plate last night but he wasn't interested and actually had a go at me! Either he's getting it somewhere else or he doesn't fancy me anymore! Sad Either way I will be confronting him tonight after I have been to the pub with mate Grin

It was a great opportunity for no strings attached JSing, but sadly wasn't to be, even after I cooked a gorgeous meal and set up the table all romantic like!

NervousNelly · 21/09/2010 11:41

I'm 5'6" so more normality here Wink

Bleeding now seems to have disappeared again, so now even more matched to google's description of implantation. I'm calm, honest. Oh and drank half a litre of local red last night Blush. No other symptoms though, other than overheating; but that might be the 27 degrees and the fact I'm lying outside in it ? Hmm. Is my body playing tricks on me just because I'm abroad and can't test. :( Should I be sensible and keep off the booze now? Or continue in denial?

Just nipped back to the room to swap chick-lit. Just finished all 800 pages of Anna Karenina, which was very good (and I realise a bit more high-brow than your average beach read)! So to keep life in total balance, am about to start the latest Shopaholic Grin. Which may have me reaching for gallons of gin, as the first chapter I just read put me right off children ShockConfused.

HarderToKidnap · 21/09/2010 11:57

Nelly, I hate you. You are on your hollibobs reading chicklit. You witch.

Josie, didn't you have a similar problem last month? Is he definitely up for this TTC lark?

BrassicaBabe · 21/09/2010 12:49

Got holiday envy harder?! Grin

Fingers cross for implantation nervous.

Hope the chat with DH goes well josie

I'm working up to a chat with DH about his family. We see faaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrr to much of them. I don't know how to bring it up without sounding like a MIL-hating witch. (I've never learned how to bring up difficult issues effectively.) I do love them, but really don't need to see them so often. DH is the youngest of 3. I wonder if that has something to do with it?

I think my mood of doom is PMT. Think I'm due on Friday. But I'm sure though I've not been imagining the wombey twinges since 4DPO. Hmm I think I was putting too much hope on the first month's Clomid doing the job! Sad

OP posts:
JosieSmith1 · 21/09/2010 14:14

Yes we've had this chat before. He's definitely up for it, even got upset when he admitted when he saw other pg couples as he wished it was us. Jst been home for lunch and had a good chat and he thinks he doesn't satisfy me!

He's been under a lot of work pressure and he said he just doesn't have much of a drive at the minute but is adament that he still fancies me Grin so I might attempt to seduce him tonight.

milanomum · 21/09/2010 14:31

Josie you wee thing you! Glad your bloke has been making encouraging sounds and is not getting cold feet!
brassica I live 800kms away from my in-laws and in a whole other country from my own family - i'm sure that's why I love them all so much [winks]

Remember ladies going completely mad on the 2ww - it aint over till the fat (red) lady sings!

BrassicaBabe · 21/09/2010 14:58

milano I live about 50 yards from my in-laws Hmm

DH just needs a little dirty sex TLC josie Grin

I've had an hour away from the pooter and feel much better. Driving myself mad when working from home with too much access to google. But equally roll on Friday!!

OP posts:
BrassicaBabe · 21/09/2010 15:11

Note to self:
Average Day Past Ovulation (DPO) for the first positive pregnancy test: 13.6 DPO

Will not stress out for another 1.6 days Grin

Truffkin · 21/09/2010 15:42

Hi de hi viroids and a very happy Tuesday to you all. It's taken me an age to catch up with everyone's news so I must remember not to take such an extended break again!

Nell your hols sound fab and make me want to book up right now for our next one. We were in Marbella in June for a friends' wedding, which was great and we're going to Ireland for a huge family get together in November. We've also agreed that when we get pregnant we will book a relaxing holiday for the second trimester as a kind of last adult holiday for a while (any excuse!)

Brassica seriously lady, step away from the pee sticks! You must be driving yourself crazy. You still have a few days so there is hope and I am keeping everything crossed.

TTL I'm so sorry to laugh at your misfortune but the thought of you standing in your bathroom, folornly looking down at a toilet full of FMU made me actually LOL. Looking forward to your update tomorrow

Josie sorry to hear you are struggling with your DH again sweetness, although not sure confronting it after a skinful is the greatest idea Wink could you plan in a proper chat to tell him how you feel at some point to give him time to gather his thoughts first? I know you mentioned your libido increased after coming off the pill and I had a similar reaction to having my implanon removed. It took DH a good month to get used to my new style of jumping him at every opportunity after getting by on once a week (twice at the very most) beforehand

Crow sorry to be late in on this one but am so Angry at your experiences over the last few days with the medical profession. It's really not acceptable at all, especially at a time when you should be getting as much support as possible. Here, have a from me

Vallinna I hear you about the crap day from a work perspective, although agree with the others and glad you made your feelings known about the clinic. I've had a bit of a run in with the union national chairman today, it left me feeling really pissed off for a while. SPoke to DH at lunchtime on the phone and he's cheered me up though, bloody work sometimes!

to everyone else, 2 days in now viroids, we're almost half way to the weekend!

So I believe I am now 3 DPO and we JSed Mon, Wed, Thur, Sat and Sun last week so am hoping to have covered all bases (although this could be either 2 or 4 or something entirely different as I'm assuming my cycles are now regular). In the interests of going mental sharing, I was very sick on Saturday night after drinking copious amouints of alcohol (although I'm not normally a sickly drunk) have aching in my lower back (maybe slept funny), am dog tired (heavy weekend) and felt nauseous this morning (I did get up earlier than usual, which could answer that one)

Have no idea if this is far to early to have any symptoms and as I don't get any pre-AF warning signs, I won't know for sure until it arrives. My iphone app tells me that AF is due on 2nd October so will spend the next 2 weeks convincing myself I'm duffered staying calm and then cry look forward to the next cycle when AF arrives Wink

In other news, I am 5' 7'' so joining the above average height gang and am attempting an interesting spanish chicken dish for dinner tonight so wish me luck!

Oh and did I mention I saw the pope on Sunday?

nickelbabe · 21/09/2010 15:53

i'm 5'8" - does that make me average height?

(sorry, nothing more interesting to sayat the minute, but i wanted you all to know i've not disappeared! Grin )

JosieSmith1 · 21/09/2010 16:15

Yeah Truff we?ve agreed plenty of shnuggles tonight and he asked if I wanted them in bed and said wink wink so think he?s got the idea Grin Hopefully once we get back into the schwing of things his libido will increase. It used to be through the roof when we first started dating so I?m sure it can come back. Will have to help him find his inner sex god GrinBlush

Nickel that makes you a giant compared to me and my whole family! My Granda nicknamed us ?the who the hell are we tribe? as we?re so small no-one can see us through the long grass (he told stories about living in the jungle and rescuing Nana from jungle cats, hence the long grass). Makes no sense to me!

Eskarina · 21/09/2010 16:59

I'm 5'5 and feel short most of the time, but DH is only 5'5 (and a little bit) so if I were any taller I'd feel like I was towering over him.

So, I just tested when I got in from work. BFN, although I've been glaring at it for a while trying to will a line to appear and wondering how long after 3 minutes I can count anything that did appear. I'm now on CD 31 and my average is 30 days, though have had anything from 27-37.

Afraid I sympathise with the waste of FMU. I woke up desparate for the loo and went without thinking this morning. Then wanted to test when I was more awake and was totally unable to pee. Of course, I needed to go as soon as I got to work. V annoying.

baby2b · 21/09/2010 17:19

Omg, I am 5'10 Blush...so slightly above average. My DH is 6'4, so we are probably going to have a baby giraffe! Grin

takethatlady · 21/09/2010 17:23

Howdy viroids.

Lol about the waste of FMU. Didn't think how silly that would sound, but glad of eskarina's support! I did look forlornly down the toilet truffkin - how did you know? I also caught myself near the end and tried to grab the ramekin. But I was out of time.

brassica I'm with you on the googling, the stick-peeing, and all else. I'm sure we've been on this 2ww for about a hundred god damn years.

Loving the height conversation. What a bunch of randoms we are!

Sorry to hear your DH is playing up josie. Sometimes the head-on, 'come on, I want a shag' approach works best I find Grin

Right. I have finished writing my god-damn-fucking-pain-in-the-arse of a book. I call it a book, but it's an academic book, which means I've spent six years of my life doing it and about six people will read it Grin. But the fucking thing is FINISHED. I am off home and I expected to be greeted with wine, dinner, and a very erect penis Wink

NervousNelly · 21/09/2010 17:35

PMSL at takethat - in that order??? Wink Congratulations on your masterpiece though!

Update on the chick-lit - as usual Shopaholic has me laughing out loud. I'm a simple soul really, but I'm getting strange looks from other sunbathers!

Am now convinced my suspected implantation is in fact just ERTD arriving early. Bleeding/spotting is back. I think it's the lack of any other symptoms. I was out in a tiny boat today, with a smelly diesel engine, and not a whiff of nausea. I don't get seasick normally, but if I was pg, surely that'd make me sick??

BrassicaBabe · 21/09/2010 17:44

Is DH in on this plan takethat or is it a surprise?! Congratulations on finishing the book. You could sneak in swear words and random JSing posts, see who complains then you will know if they read it or not! Grin And you are right, this 2ww has lasted a month of sundays. Already bored thinking about having to do all of this again next month.

You are quite at home here with your hopeful symptoms here nervous. You've been protected from the madness while sunning yourself.

Sorry for BFN eskarina Maybe a post-it on the loo for tomorrow morning?

OP posts:
BrassicaBabe · 21/09/2010 17:46

I've just finshed the haribo only for my nausea to return. I'm noticing a def "cause and effect" Hmm

OP posts:
Truffkin · 21/09/2010 18:17

Sorry TakeThat in my haste to laugh at your misfortune I rudely omitted my congratumalatiunz at your work of genuis. Very well done on the completion, am certain it feels just divine to know it's done and you can eat, drink and shag be merry to your hearts' content tonight Wink

Eskarina · 21/09/2010 18:56

Congrats on finishing th book TakeThat. I've just finished an MA and can only imagine the pain that a whole book would entail!

Brassica That was my one and only pee-stick < wail >. I'll have to find a way of getting into town after work one day before I go mad. Good plan about the post-it on the loo, although DH might think I'd completely flipped!

Miffles · 21/09/2010 19:35

Laughing lots about loss of FMU and post it notes.

Laughing even harder about Mr TakeThat greeting TakeThat but not being in her plan, so being a bit bemused by the erect penis! Grin!

Congrats on finishing your work - 6 years is a long time! Wow! You deserve celebrating tonight. And since you haven't had a BFP yet, the baby won't be affected. In my mind, if the baby isn't effecting the FMU, then our consumption won't effect it Hmm. If it doesn't like alcohol, it should produce more HCG!!!!

Brassica - forgot you were on your first cycle of clomid. Can understand why you're hanging so much on this 2ww....people do seem to be most hopeful about the first cycle, but there are plenty of others who fall pg later on.

Josie - fret not about your DH. I think they are often as emotional and irrational as us!! Like Truffkin said, they get used to the way we were before. Mr Miffles sometimes feels quite bad that he doesn't conform to the stereotype of a man wanting sex all the time. When he is busy and stressed, he'd much rather sleep!! But my sneaky way is getting naked in bed....hiding his t shirt if necessary and he soon gets in the mood!! Wink

I'm glad I'm with other short arses...but concerned that your DHs all match you. Mine is 6' 4" and since I'm 5' 2 (and a half) we look more than slightly mis-matched! Concerned about my pelvis and his size when the baby comes!!!!

I HAVE MY APPOINTMENT!!!!!!
12th October, I'm seeing the infertility consultant. Going through the NHS, so have been waiting ages. Makes it all the more real now....getting excited that I might actually have a 2ww!!

BrassicaBabe · 21/09/2010 22:50

eskarina I've got a bit of a pee-stick store going on at the moment, want one of mine? I promise not to pee on it first Grin

Congrats for the appt miffles. Thanks for reminding folks that my 2ww-of-madness has been exacerbated by my first cycle of clomid Grin

OP posts:
Eskarina · 22/09/2010 07:28

Grin at the honestly not used 2nd hand pee stick

JosieSmith1 · 22/09/2010 08:57

PMSL TakeThat! Grin I think I?ll text DH tonight and tell him that! Subtle hints aren?t working Grin. I hope you got your wish, and congrats on finishing!

Yes Miffles I think that might work too! So pleased you got an appointment! [happy]

Nothing to report here except extremely painful tooth still, and possibly the other side starting too! DH cooked a lovely meal for tea but I only ate a couple of mouthfuls as it was so painful Sad Then went to the pub with a mate but couldn?t drink anything as it was too sensitive so it took me 2 hours to drink one lemon and lime! Shock So I?m feeling a bit roughed up at the minute and need cuddles more than anything else. Hopefully I?ll be better at the weekend and can get down and dirty Blush

takethatlady · 22/09/2010 09:03

Thanks ladies! Mr Take That obliged with a bottle of champagne and suitable body parts Grin. Had to make dinner but 2 out of 3 ain't bad. He says he's taking me out on Friday so I'm sure we can turn that into another shag occasion :)

Congrats on finishing your MA eskarina! Hope it went well. And big congratulations to miffles for making it through the NHS minefield and getting an appointment. Hopefully this is the start of better things :) I wonder if I'll be joining you as no sign of AF today so now I'm wondering if I really did ovulate 2 weeks ago. If it's not here by Friday I'm going to moan at them about my stupid cycles.

Hope your tooth starts to feel better josie. Are you going to the dentist? Do you feel yourself getting wiser?

NervousNelly · 22/09/2010 09:05

I think I could make a fortune selling ice cream sticks on ebay to wannabe-mums. Not in a "trying to deceive them" (us?) kind of way; just as a tool to help scratch the itch. You know, the feeling you just have to pee on SOMETHING even if it's CD5 and you know there isn't a cat in hell's chance you are pregnant, or even ovulating; but you've GOT TO PEE ON A STICK.

Bleeding now gone again. So at least not trying to cope with tampons and bikinis - always a dangerous game. But no clearer on whether it was implantation or early ERTD signs.

This morning I'm imagining I feel sick (I mean totally imagining Hmm). I was good last night and only had one teeny tiny GnT; though I had loads of lovely local honey for my breakfast(plus lots of lovely other things) and am now wondering, if I AM pg, if that's bad? I know it's bad for small kids - but how small? Pinhead size? Confused

Really must do a bit of research, just in case. Had a bit of a sore head yesterday so reached for the 'profen; only to remember that was a no-no. IF I was pg, which I'm clearly not Wink

See - totally mad. Absolutely no idea what's going on with my body, but am behaving like a pregnant lunatic anyway..... Grin
